Food options were good, typical buffet style.

Breakfast had a large range of hot/cold food.

Breakfast was decent and only fussy people will have problems with it.

One hot drinkk included at breakfast time on half board and thats your lot.I stand correct, you could have as many cups as you like

Great level of choice for breakfast and Dinner.

We stayed on a half board basis and could not complain about the food, the meals were buffet and there was a good choice available at both breakfast and dinner.

Breakfast and lunch buffet did us okay and we ate out every night in local area.

The half board buffet has a good selection and the dining service is actually quite orderly and calm,

There was a good choice for the breakfast and evening meals, there was always pizza, chips and plain pasta on the evening, im the fussy eater in the family and always found plenty of options.

Food wise I thought the restaurant was good with lots of choice on the buffet.

This was the case for both breakfast and dinner as we were half board.

Decaf coffee in the machine at breakfast which was good.

The Restaurant was Great in lots of choices for Breakfast and Dinner and catered for all guests, I found it excellent myself where my husband and son found it difficult to put meals together and some odd combinations at times.

This hotel is amazing you are close to PortAventura and town centre staff are friendly there’s only one bad thing about this hotel is that people are queuing up for a sunbed in the morning as pool doesn’t open until 9 as I do think it’s a disgrace I would ask everyone to go away and have breakfast then go out for a bed as theres sunbeds for everyone to get

The food at breakfast and evening meal was also good.

At breakfast etc our plates got taken away very quickly.

We were half board and found the food to be really good,there was loads to choose from,we are meat eaters and there was always lots of different types eg,veal,steaks,hamburgers,pork/chicken skewers and even a delicious steak pie one evening.

They offered new choices to eat every evening and the basic/regular foods like the pizza was delicious.

It was one of the nicest ‘hotel buffet’ meals i’ve ever had.

As this was the case the glass doors at the entrance to the pool grounds were open and there was some patio furniture right on the other side of the glass doors so we chose to sit there for a few minutes.

Just a suggestion, could there be 1 member of staff who hangs around at 9am after the doors are opened and anyone they see putting towels on sunbeds and immediately going for breakfast tell them that its not allowed and if they dont listen put their towel in a basket.

There were also not enough sunbeds and parasols for everyone, which meant it was complete chaos when the doors eventually opened.

There are nowhere near enough sun loungers and even less parasols, it was like a Black Friday sale when the doors  to the pool were opened.

There aren’t enough beds to guest ratio so people line up in reception from around 8am and then the doors open at 9am.

One tip I’d give is to be prepared for sunbed stampede- the doors open at 9 and there is a mad rush for sunbeds!!

People queue up in the morning for the sunbeds as the doors are locked and the pool gets very busy and loud during the day.

but not if want play water polo there not allowed also massive q for sun beds in morning door open at 9 people q since 8.30 another thing evening entertainment for kids start at 9.30 even do all kids outside running up down since after dinner 8.30 that goes on time 10 them adults shows come on till well after 11 noise racket if bedroom which my one was so close to stage you could not sleep very difficult for families with young baby's so think need up there game with activities for kids .

The food is unreal, I got a sneak peak behind scenes of kitchen whilst door was ajar the kitchen looks like a laboratory,  so clean.

When another room closed their door, my headboard would shake.

The noise (and the real let down of the hotel) from 7:00/7:30AM was absolutely unbelievable though, slamming doors continued all day, running and screaming kids in the corridors, banging of chairs/wardrobes and noise through the walls was insane.

You can hear every door slam, every person walking down the corridors, midnight and kids are running up and down the halls, quite a noisy hotel in general, slept with ear plugs in.

These can fit maybe 3-4 people, 5 if you're lucky (that's without suitcases) and take forever, partly because there's no door close

Then the other noise began, people banging doors and shouting on the corridors.

I was shocked at how they could just come through the door without knocking and it felt as

I’d advise leaving the “do not disturb” on the door, as room service arrived at 08:45, so no chance of a lie in!!

but expected has people wanted spaces by pool maybe let few people out at time has I found being at front of line did you no justice has once doors open people run from the back past you, which was annoying, but this wouldn’t stop me from returning.

As for trying to get a sunbed the situation is beyond belief and needs some urgent attention   with people queing up from 8.00 am ( doors open at 9.00 pm ) , we would normally go down  about 8.50 and were always at the back of a long queue usually going out of the hotel entrance onto the steps.

The morning race for the loungers and umbrellas is a pain, basically you end up queuing at around 8:15 (any later and good luck getting anything) and then when the door opens it is an elbows out race to grab what you can.

The other toaster is terrible, 4 times for the bread to toast is too long and leads to queues.

the toasters need disposing of, you have to put your toast in 4 times to create toast or its still just bread, as you can imagine this creates a big queue.

In the morning queuing for coffee machine can be a pain due to lengthy queues depending on the time and small cups don't help we ended up having to get 2 at a time.

We usually ate around 8.00pm and did not have  to queue for long for the evening dinner and food was replenished frequently.

but not enough parasols, pool doesn't open till 9am people start queueing form 7/7 30am then it's was a mad dash for parasols with the odd few appearing at almost 9 to make the dash was quite annoying, in 30 years this was my first experience of the queueing business i will doing better research in future.

but when others in the queue confirmed that I did, he insisted I paid for it again!

You have to queue in reception for sun-loungers before the pool opens at 9am.

The pool 1st thing in the morning did have a Queue for getting Sunbeds and I found this quite amusing while having breakfast, we never went to the pool in the mornings opting to do other activities

but I will be back to this hotel 
For anyone that is going to this hotel if u have anyone with disabilities and u are going to PortAventura please bring doctor letters and ID to the park so u can get the disability fast pass to all the rides if u don’t have this you will be refused it when u go up to queuing in the line at the disability desk just a bit of extra advice

There was a queue for sun loungers before the pool opened at 9am and it was the usual story of people reserving sun loungers and not using them for some time after.

Inside seating area not very comfortable at all and lack of staff on the bar at night made queues very long waiting for a drink.

Unless you are queueing for at least an hour before the pool opens at 9am you will not be guaranteed a parasol.

People queueing for dessert and once you get there things had run out - not what you want on holiday!

The only thing I would fault is that there are not enough sun parasols, which led to huge ques from 8 am and a dash to get an umbrella

Entertainment staff were brilliant and very friendly!

We had read some bad reviews about the food and large queues in the restaurant,

Unless you don’t get a fast pass, then you will queue all day to go on two rides.

but at busy times it was a bit hectic and queues to get into restaurant.

The management will just say that there is no need to queue,

Breakfast not a big thing for me so went to coffee shop for a lovely morning coffee.

Hotel is very close to theme parks, just a short walk
Breakfast had plenty of variety and food was very fresh.

Also my biggest issue was included within our all inclusive they only had fizzy drinks, hot drinks, fresh orange and apple juice at there bars.

You are told to book through the app slots for breakfast and dinner,

After queing to be seated, to get a coffee and then to que for the main buffet, breakfast took its time.

Ice cream was delicious and could have in cone or pot.

The a la carte restaurant was a really nice change from the normal buffet and I would highly recommend it.

Maid often forgot to leave toilet roll and clean towels.

It's a buffet, plenty of choices salad bar, fruit, several cooked options and a choice of desserts and breads.

Food was varied, plentiful and catered for everyone.

Fresh pancakes and churros cooked by talented chefs each morning, my teen kids loved the food.

We holidayed as a large family group and the food was always delicious with plenty of options.

Buffet food is basic, breakfast is the best. You have 40mins (timed!!)

The hotel is clean, the staff are great and the food and drinks are plentiful and delicious.

The toilets in reception were always disgusting when I went.

but far from clean, old stinky blankets and pillows everything stinks the rooms the hotel the beds haven’t heard a hover all week, same dirt in the corridors as when we got here.

Our one child was also served a meat salad and didn’t realise until she ate it which left her in tears, despite MANY times saying “please make sure it’s vegetarian”

Rooms stink of damp and sewage because they had a flood a few years ago, they don’t tell you that until you are here though and their brilliant response is “we can’t move you rooms, because they all smell the same” 

This is our first visit to Salou in 15 years, usually we stay 5 star

The lifeguards would not allow him to wear a t-shirt so he ended up with first degree burns.

Arrived at just after 1pm took 40 mins to check in and room was ready, room very stuffy and faint smell of sewage (could definitely do with updating)

People smoking in non-smoking area and no one saying anything.

Then the pool,  I thought the loughness monster might have been in there it was a big ball of hair wrapped round my leg absolutely gross, not to mention the poo that was lifted out 1 day then everyone jumped bk in not knowing what they were swimming in,course it was rotten dirty too.

rooms are disgusting, covered in mould and stank.

but in summary the rooms are tired and smell, smells come from the old and tired air conditioning system which also doesn’t cool the room.

We could smell it every time we opened the door

but this only highlights how badly organised the hotel is)
Once in the room it did smell musty and our friends room next door also smelt musty.

Mattress were stinking saw was the top blanket on the bed.

Mouldy tiles in bathroom,  broken drawers on furniture, broken vents and extremely musty room.

Disgusting, all inclusive and having to pay 2.50 euro for a bottle of water will never be back all you can get in all inclusive is a glass of water what kind of place is this disgusting is all I can say

It was dark, dated, musty and fairly small.

I saved all year for this holiday , you are not allowed water only tap water which gives you tummy ache , everything is watered down the coke doesn’t look like coke there’s food all over the restaurant floor absolutely filthy 
People fighting and banging doors all night until the morning 
The shower sounds like a industrial machine taking off 
No entertainment whatsoever day or night 
Your not allowed inflatable s in the pool or any type of fun your told off constantly even if you buy a rubber ring on a toddler 
It’s the most depressing unfriendly hotel you can imagine , there’s nothing to do

We went for dinner and breakfast in the buffet and it was….

You have to book a time for breakfast and evening meal on the app.

When you first arrive at the hotel, the reception staff make you aware of a QR code which you scan which gives you access to book your time slots for breakfast and dinner.

but buffet dinner was poor ,rooms were good and aircon aswell,pool was murky and to warm for summer heat,the sun beds were rock hard so no rest after day at park,drinks were same price as park expensive IMO, staff were friendly and helpful , in general hotel needs upgrade IMO,best thing about this hotel is closeness to park, would I return?probably not

Picture this, 7pm huge queue outside the restaurant, get in and seated, it's buffet so then everyone starts queuing for the food.

Overall apart from the evening buffet it surpassed my expectations.

you get about 40mins for breakfast and 1hr 15 for dinner.

Our 16 year old son and his friends all made the most of the extensive buffet (morning and evening).

The hotel is part of the park and you have direct access from the hotel..what a win 😀

We went full board, with breakfast and dinner at the hotel, buffet style, and lunch in the park..The food in the park is good (not great),

However the breakfast was pretty good with everything you’d expect and a bit more.

Yes, if you try and eat in the buffet restaurant any later than 7.45pm you will be in a long queue

We were staying at the Hotel Gold River and decided to visit this hotel for the buffet one evening.

Buffet food was reasonable and reasonably  clean.

You are rushed through breakfast constantly been told to hurry along, the queues for evening dinner are very long and restaurant packed !

Also this year there was a lot of queuing at the buffet especially for dinners.

but I would not say that it’s a good holiday base and I would not bother with anything other than bed and breakfast

You have to pay 5 euro to store each case,might just about get two small cases in one safe at a push.Cost 15 euro to store 4 cases..
No nearby shop to buy anything,nearest supermarket 20 mins walk to buy cheaper water..Free water in the restaurant

but they were very expensive and the service was somewhat chaotic.

You can still get your towels for a small fee and deposit (from reception now and not the shop), which you can change daily.

Overall it cost us probably 20 euros total more for the meal than eating in the hotel buffet

It's kind of moving to a two tier system where if you want to make the most of the parks you need to pay extra to get an express pass.

Then had to pay €5 for a larger one when it became available.

We soon realised that we have to pay for thin itchy towels.

In the park the only staff are in shops or operating the ride there’s no one floating around to point you in the right direction or assist I had a really rude older man with glasses in the water park roll his eyes at me as I asked him for assistance you feel like an inconvenience to the staff!! It feels like they don’t want to spend money to improve or upkeep and clean and it’s not cheap (3.70 for an ice pop!!!)

Which is a shame as we paid a lot of money for this holiday and we really don’t feel we got value for money.

Lining up in a huge queue to try and get dinner that is already paid for is not acceptable.

but never again as the increase in cost is terrible,
They are taking things away from portaventura to save money but chargin the public more.

but one of the more competively priced hotels in the centre of Salou.

Also she "miscalculated" the fee to pay, not checking the payments for the reservation.

since we paid 50€ at the enterance for the buffet, so we paid 58 €, and she said we had to leave, couse the resturant was getting ready for the next round of guests, what ever that means!!

It is pointless going to the park unless you are prepared to pay for the fast access pass which costs in excess of €160 for a family of four.

Very expensive and all 4 meals came out at different times!

If you buy a premium express pass then you need to show your room key when going on rides.

I was in shock when I saw  how dirty  the hall was, the carpets were filthy this place needs a refurb or a deep clean it was disgusting.

I also didn’t mention the disgusting bathroom.

This room was over the café of the hotel & the room constantly smelt of cigarettes.

There was nowhere to dry a towel after the pool and since there was no sunshine in the room our towels would remain damp for days.

We were on the ground floor and the corridor flooded twice while we were there and we also seen a room flooded out, their is then a smell left from the damp carpets which is quite bad.

Staff are very rude and favour the Spanish the food is disgusting cold hot dog or cold fish tonight the que for food is manic it’s not relaxing at all more canteen at school !!

Filthy mouldy bathrooms, stains all over bedroom chair, dated and run down rooms, tumbleweed dust along corridors, filthy carpets run along corridors, long walk anywhere.

Having holiday end in America the past 7 years I forgot that you can still smoke everywhere,so waiting to have dinner and even during dinner on two occasions we had people smoking next to us ,this is just disgusting

Yes, our first room was a little on the dark side and was a bit musty and damp.

Oh also the towels they give you smell bad and have stains on.

Our room was basic and the bathrooms could do with a make over as they were mouldy.

but not sure if his was where smell was coming from.

3pm we returned for our room allocation which we had both rooms next door, my room was 1139 which smelled really strongly of stale cigarette smoke, the safe didn't work

The bedrooms are damp and extremely basic.

The room was not very well cleaned (hair on the floor), and one of the room was smelly.

but the basic necessities are not available, and the rooms smell mouldy.

When we arrived there was a big iron burn on the bed spread, holes in the blackout curtain, the kick plate at the bottom of our door was hanging off and the electrical wiring on the hair-dryer and bedside lights was poor.

Got back to the hotel late at night, went to jump in bed and my wife found the bed sheets to be absolutely filthy.

The desert was pretty good you could choose to add extras like sprinkles and for breakfast there was so much that we loved you were able to add chocolate or toffee onto your pastry’s and there was a large selection.

The food on offer in the buffet restaurant is exceptional,  the staff are really pleasant and attentive
 Two minor niggles no table on the balcony and the balcony  lights were controlled centraly and not by us, (we like to read on the balcony  while our young charge goes to sleet) overall can't recommend this hotel enough ! !

Breakfast and evening meal had plenty of choice for myself, my husband and our five year old.

The buffet food is plentiful and kept well stock  at meal times.

On a half board, buffet breakfast&dinner, food  cant be faulted nice tasty dishes, perhaps too good hard to stop eating.

Brillant buffet, will lots of choice, fresh fish and meat cooked to order, salads,meats dessert. .

One of the things we missed was there was no slices of melon or fruit cocktail for breakfast, which is something we always look forward to having on holiday.

Nighttime entertainment was poor same 4 songs at the mini disco every night then at 10.00 main entertainment started which was rubbish and boring.

We booked this break as a last minute deal and after reading the reviews we were expecting the food to be pretty poor.

Entertainment starts at 10pm and was poor, so didn't bother.

- Animation team: very poor and Spanish oriented.

The entertainment is generally poor with a mini disco at 9pm, which seems a bit late for the kids.

sol just back from a week at sol costa Daurada i found very lould muisic playing day and  night restaurant like mcDonalds very poor decor  breakfast time you have to go to 6 points before sitting down for breakfast no hot pates for hot food water arip off at 2.30 a bottle 45c in lidi no tables on balcony  it is also not a couples hotel its over run with small children.

As said we have stayed in nine different hotels in Salou, some have been poor and some good,

but the rooms were not big enough for a family, paired with bad attitudes from restaurant staff and poor food it pretty much dampens your experience.

Air con is poor, dining room is more like staff canteen and food is only average and very repetitive.

AT Best a  two and a half star ,The dining room was like a works canteen, with only certain areas having air con ,food was very repetative and lacked choice,  the staff were very poor apart from Rosie who checked you in for your meals .

Her English was poor and if I had not stayed in this hotel before I would of been completely lost, she was literally no help.

but only two chairs and no table on the balcony, the room had no kettle and no cups etc, there were only two drawers in the room for cloths, the evening entertainment was very poor, with only bingo on one evening and a tv quiz on an other.

The kids entertainment is poor probably worst we’ve ever experienced to be honest.

Spent alot of money to come here half board and will be having to eat out for the next 12 days which is going to cost even more money because the food is so poor.

The food in the hotel was absolutely horrendous, like I mean it was inedible, the first night we got there, we decided to stay in as we were all tired from travelling so we went downstairs to the buffet.

The screaming of children at midnight kept us awake and the staff did not care.

We got there after storm caused fire and floods so they had a huge temporary electric generator type thing outside.

❌️Facilities in Hotel  - None, no where indoos to sit or go
❌️ Spa - It's a small indoor pool with a jet, sauna and Turkish steam room is chargeable.

Rooms looking onto the pool area could be noisy when evening entertainment was on.

Hotel is slightly out of the way from the centre so it feels more peaceful away from the busy traffic and crowds.

You can hear EVERY word from the room next door.
