Kipling is in a wonderful location - very easy to walk all over Geneva.

The neighborhood is a tad on the moderate side -  as one often finds close to the main train station,  But it's an easy walk to all major sites.

Its so close to the train station and also very easy to walk around all the tourist places you would want to head to.

It was an easy walk to the hotel from the train station.

but an easy walk to Gare Cornavin where we could catch a bus/tram/train anywhere including the airport (10 min train).

Its easy to walk to the lakeside and across to the older parts of town.

Stayed here for one night and the location was great easy walk to all major sights.

It is 1 tram stop from the train station or a very easy walk even with suitcases.

It was also an easy walk to the lake and to the central areas of Geneva.

Located about 3 blocks from the train station and an easy walk to the lake, this hotel is a very good value.

Bed was comfy and the shower had great pressure 

Young lady staffing the receptionist desk when we arrived around 7 PM was friendly and offered any assistance we could ask., And in the morning we were at the airport in less than 10 minutes.

The location, the rooms, the breakfast, and the friendly staff, it all results on a very competitive price-quality combination.

The hotel is really friendly and most of the staff are really helpful, (you get the odd one that will not help anywhere don't you) But don't let that put you off the hotel the rooms are really clean and comfortable and breakfast was excellent and at a reasonable price for Switzerland

There are all sorts of food options and since aside from the fondue, the Swiss are not known for food, why not try something authentic (and relatively inexpensive) in the neighborhood?

Its in an interesting neighbourhood, certainly not what I was expecting from Geneva.

But the neighborhood just down the street is quite seedy.

although the area overall is a tad bit seedy.

Although the location is central and very close to the railway station and city center, is in an area which seems to be a little bit dangerous, and less populated by tourists.

but only 10 minutes from the lake and we never felt unsafe unlike in some other European cities.

The hotel faces what looks like 2 abandoned buildings in a so-so neighborhood.

And the neighborhood is very rundown and in a seedy part of town,

Not sure about the neighborhood walking down Rue Navigation towards the lake and in the surrounding streets

The only drawback that there is a park/school a block to the south of the hotel which was a tad sketchy, so it should be avoided if alone or at night.

The place is in the red light district (some yelling at night, some scary faces walking pass)  as you shower the water tents to switch between freezin cold to hot as hell.

It's located in a lively neighbourhood, so it was quite loud up to midnight.

Only real complaints are the shady neighborhood as mentioned by others - a lot of men loitering around the park nearby was a little unsettling at night.

but the area is bit shady, if you are looking for bachelor fun then the back allies are full of your interest.

Close to the railway station, which makes access to the airport easy.

It is located really close to the railway station and right next to the Mole tram stop.

Geneva is an expensive city in which to stay, I opted for this hotel because it was good value and within walking distance of the train station as I needed to meet people at the airport first thing.

The hotel is centrally located, near the train station and walking distance from Geneva's lake and Mont Blanc bridge.

The staff, except the breakfast server, were polite, friendly and helpful.

A short (15 min or so) drive from the airport, the hotel is a block from the lakefront and the Jet D'Eau.

Our junior suite was on the top floor, with views of rooftops and the famed Jet d'Eau spray on the lake.

I love this location -- easy to walk to everything, and close the jet d'eau.

But as a Hyatt Globalist I still had to pay for the difference (CHF 5 per person) for the full breakfast options.

But if you only want one yoghurt and a cup of tea and pay CHF 21 not worth it.

We did not pay for breakfast as it seemed very pricey and reviews were mixed.

If you can get breakfast included - it's expensive

so be aware that when they list a room as "single room" without a description of exactly what that means and you fall for it, you'd better be prepared to pay extra for a real room for two humans. They told us "this happens all the time."

At the prices they offer, I would be extremely disappointed to indulge in a lukewarm beverage.

but due to the extortionate prices of some of the 5 stars in the area, ended up choosing EastWest and have to say no regrets of any description.

although it may seem expensive, it actually includes a large variety of options and seems to me much better value than the cheaper breakfast version I heard some other visitors lamenting as too expensive for too few items.

The only critique was the restaurant had a limited bar menu, and was extremely expensive, in keeping with Geneva in general.

I go to Geneva quite regularly and usually face the same problem: hotels in this city are expensive.

As always in Switzerland, be prepared for the high prices.

In fact walk a block or so to the left and you're on the water amidst very expensive real estate.

Breakfast seemed expensive for what was provided

but we put in earplugs and all was good and the continental breakfast was a bit expensive for what was included.

But Geneva as a city is incredibly expensive so that is to be expected.

Everything in Switzerland is expensive so you have to take this in consideration when you look for value .

but has everything required ,except breakfast , that will need to be paid separately, I booked this through Expedia  and I was a little annoyed as I wanted to have breakfast included  any how , the front desk was awesome  did everything to help us with whatever we required .

Staff gets your bed ready in the evening which is very touching.

The music was lively and the bar service good .

Exquisite rooms with unique design, excellent service, kind and very helpful personal as well as amazing restaurant Windows and Laporte Room bar.

The hotel also has a great restaurant and a very cool bar in the basement.

The Leopard Bar had live music on weekends and made some tasty drinks.

We were greeted with a complimentary welcome drink, and spent time in both the Windows restaurant and hotel bar.

Bar downstairs was unique and much fun for some drinks after a business dinner.

but there are simpler food options in the downstairs "Leopard Bar," a great hangout with topnotch decor and drinks.

although kids weren’t allowed at the bar after about 7pm.

The bar and cigar-room downstairs really nice.

I did not use the quiet, comfortable-looking lounge or the below-street-level bar.

The bar had a cozy and warm feeling and the singer and band were exceptional.

I literally can’t say enough about the level of service and friendliness of everyone-check in - room service-front desk-bell group- bar staff-restaurant staff.

Leopard bar and lounge with live music was really enjoyable, including the food.

The Leopard Bar is also really nice and buzzy (for Geneva), with live music and good food - staff are again very welcoming.

First rate service, great room, great bath and shower, comfy deluxe bed, excellent restaurant, cozy bar lounge with fireplace on lower level, situated right on the lake just a wonderful place.

I enjoyed drinks and a fine glass of Bordeaux wine in the Leopard bar while listening to the most talented Dalise and her band.

Afternoon tea was delicious and an evening in the Leopard Bar, well try it and see for yourself - fabulous.

The staff at the Reception desk and the Concierge were very friendly and provided excellent service throughout my stay.

It's crown jewel is its incredible, friendly, professional, and caring staff!

The welcome was over the top, the service is friendly and flawless.

They made sure all our requirements for food reservations, travel, car booking, and place to go and things to do were take care of in a most friendly and efficient manner.
