All hotel personnel were friendly, courteous and extremely helpful.

The most wonderful thing about this hotel was the staff, each and every one of them was so friendly, chatty, helpful, I really cant compliment them enough.

The check in team were efficient and friendly.

Generally the staff were really friendly, especially the Manager of the reception, the wonderful Indian pool attendant & the doormen.

But the staff of the pool and the service were super nice and friendly.

The service received througout our stay was very good, everyone was friendly and very helpful.

A margherita pizza and vegetarian risotto - neither were particularly good, both were quite expensive.

The room was nothing special, the dinner more than disappointing and the breakfast was a total rip off.

Obviously Geneva is expensive and this hotel is no exception.

Very poor kitchen and extremely overpriced for what it is.

Basically, it looked as if the hotel was running with the minimum, most basic capacity and with reduced quality standards (but with the same, unchanged rates).

given that this trip was not on an expense account.).

I thought it was possible I did in fact only pay one room and not realize it.

It was just average overall and a bit expensive for what was offered.

My advice to fellow travellers do as I did , go to Le Richmond , more expensive

Given the price, the name and the reputation, I had high hopes for the Intercontinental.

There are better hotels in Geneva for the same price

If I have to be humiliated, I prefer to at least have it at a cheaper rate, thank you very much.

though for its 7CHF(£5.40) price for a four-finger Kit-Kat in the minibar - outrageous mark-up in an already expensive city.

We were upgraded to a large corner room with a disproportionately small bathroom (including a very dated bath with shower attachment).

although small are fine, bathroom a little too small though.

but the bathrooms were very small comparatively.

My bathroom was somewhat small and a little dated while hotel location is in an unimpressive area; this aside, the overall experience was very good and the hotel serves its purpose to the full for a business traveller.

Only real issue was the bathroom is very small and cramped.

My only complaint was that I had difficulty working the shire controls (a problem that I have had in other European hotels) and I had nowhere to put my small toiletry case in the bathroom.

but the bathroom is small with shower over bath and not much room to put your toiletries.

The bathrooms are on the small side and the tan china isn't really my taste,

The Bathroom is really small to plus the toilet is really aquardly placed and its not comfortable to access.

However, on my trip I noticed:

- The lobby is beautifully designed and appointed, and worthy of a high-end hotel

- Check in was friendly, fast and efficient

- The rooms were a little small, the bathrooms were tiny, and the decor was quite dated.

It has good rooms, although I thought that the bathroom was a bit small,

My room was small and dated with the bathroom walls in faux marble plastic and a tiny sink area, added to that, my TV did not work and the controls for temperature of the room was set and no matter what I tried, they would not adjust.

but not large although the bathrooms are tiny and quite dated with a small bath type shower.

The staff could not have been more welcoming, kind and helpful during our stay.

Service was first class, the room was large and had everything we needed, the lounge area welcoming, a drink poolside on the way back from a walk was lovely.

but as I asked not to, he was kind enough not to put it on.

It seems that they lack sufficient skilled staff at the restaurant.

The Concierge (I think his name is Nicholas) was absolutely top notch!

Lobna escorted us to our suite explaining the whole hotel and facilities.

Staffed by professional, courteous and helpful workers.

We were greeted on check in by the general manager who was just the lovliest man.

The lobby is beautiful and the staff were kind and exceptionally helpful.

There was little interest in assisting with arrangments.

The intercontinental should be humbled to know that they are capable of recruiting and keeping staff of this calibre.

But the biggest difference makes the staff, starting from the very kind and helpful receptionists, doormen always ready to assist you and the whole staff from the restaurant is just lovely.

Always super polite and replying my emails in a really short period of time.

The in-room book about the previous GM is great reading.

I spent three nights here before COVID-19 as I’m a Spire Ambassador and I was very happy with my stay.

We came here and they stated the air conditioning is not powerful enough to keep up saying “this is europe”.

I understand that In Europe, air conditioning has traditionally not been used much.

Turned right down to lowest temperature with fan on full all night (noisy) and windows open - did not seem to make the slightest bit of difference.

In-suite amenities included air conditioning, strong wi-fi, a mini-fridge, and a coffee maker with various coffee and tea supplies.

One of the light sensors in the room kept making an irritating clicking sound every 60 seconds or so, again which disrupted sleep.

However, when we stayed the room was warm throughout as the airconditioning was only kicking out warm air (we were advised by reception that this was the case throughout the hotel due to the time of the year - late October -

but it's impossible to be in the room because air-condition wasn't cooling enough.so we took a fan.

My only slight criticism is that the shower design leaks water into the floor, and I had to ask for extra bath mats to absorb this.

There is no air-conditioning in the hotel, so get ready to sweat, and that point alone makes your entire experience just feel terrible.

Only downside was the crazy mood light machine which I ended up switching off!

The air conditioning/heating suspended unit is incredibly noisy.

but hot and could not cool it down using air con.

However the thermostat wasn't working (too hot) so we spent the night alternating opening/closing the window to get fresh air.

The hotel was well sound insulated, very little light and noise entered the room and the air conditioning was sufficient.

No heating in April in a 4star hotel in Geneva..they bring you extra blankets looking like army gear and a portable heater that keeps on maling noise all night long.

The weather is hot and there is no Air cooling in rooms therefore rooms are boiling.

Most annoying, our air conditioning did not work.

but non-functioning air conditioning isn't acceptable.

Although there seems to be a temperature control dial on the wall leading to an air conditioning unit, changing the temperature did not do anything and the room was an uncomfortable temperature for us to sleep.

I enjoyed my stay here, it's a friendly and functional business hotel.

The staff were all friendly and responsive.

Staff is extremely responsive and professional and friendly, unlike many other hoteliers who are very stressed these days and often reflects in a strained attitude.

We arrived at this hotel for a one night stay on the weekend, and were greeted by the most lovely receptionist - she was so cheerful, enthusiastic, welcoming and friendly.

but now you have dirty carpet, mouldy bathroom, uncomfortable bed and pillow, weird shower, poor lighting.

Also, the hotel and elevator smells weird and room feels like a prison cell.

the terrace in the room, apparently, was never cleaned, the ashes on the cigarette heaped on the sofa, the sock left by the previous guest in the bathroom - this is such a luxury and cleaning.

Shower in a bath with high sides and faulty , slow water drain so standing in bath water.

However, there was an awful sewage smell on the 6th floor which was very unpleasant when walking to an from the lift area.

Cons:

One of the rooms and the hallway smelled like cigarettes.

We were given a smoking room, which we couldn’t cope with despite trying.

In addition I was given a smoking room in a smoking floor

The cleaning was not good as the carpet floor was very dusty and smelly.

It's impossible to open the windows without being nauseated by the powerful smell.

but did not smell like one and did not bother us.

And last time  our room smelled of cigarets the entire stay.

The people are very nice, the only thing is they give you a room with a lot of tabac smell without asking.

When we checked out we were told that a fan was available - too late for us, we had already had a rotten nights sleep.

However, when we checked in and went to our room we found that we had a smoking room.

On the minus is the noise and that I got a smoker room ( I'm non smoker).

Although we had to change rooms upon check in because of a smoky odor in the room, our next room was airy, clean and just what we had in mind.

The staff were friendly and the breakfast had good variety.

but we've been refused.The manager told us /SHE /will talk with the director of the hotel and will give as a call on MONDAY /14/08/2023/ after making a copy of our car document.

We appreciate the nice room, the service at reception, and the location in a very lived area of Geneva.

Staff exceptionally helpful and very organised - never a queue at reception, always proactive in offering assistance.

Staff were excellent and helpful from the front desk to bar and restaurant and housekeeping.

Now the staff was very genial and helpful which made up for the other deficiencies.

However, the cleaning staff were lovely and polite.

I have a medical diet and they were very kind to make an adjustment for me.

The reception was helpful and restaurant staff pleasant too.

A nightstand, a work desk with chair, a reading couch with table, a round cushioned chair, an armoire with security safe, and a flat screen television with satellite were also present.

We got back late and found out that the airconditioning had not been turned on in that building and the night desk person said nothing could be done that night.

but once you close the windows and turn on the AC, all is silent.

but really really nice,the flat was really big..oh and the aircon in our room makes awful sound.no elevator.

Beds were rock solid and uncomfortable and the air con was loud and useless

but the occasional scooter) and as such the room became warm with no AC.

There were a few minor issues with the room which I am quite reluctant to mention, refreshments depleted (had to ask for some items like milk and tea), the air con remote didn't seem to work, and the plug in the bathroom sink didn't retain the water very long.

The only small complaints I had is that my room was a bit warmer than I'd like it, and there was no thermostat in my room.

but the air-conditioning system is not switched on yet.

Early June is usually not that cold in Geneva so that the heating system of the hotel was off. When I requested for a heater I was prompt served with 2 (!!!)

My only criticism was that the air con was not working as they were still in the winter season and I found the room a bit hot.

On the top floor, I would suspect that summer might be difficult without aircon

If I had to say one negative, it would be that the air-con unit was a little noisy,

but not all of the elements of the word "hotel" in it)
I'm not a great fan of that particular chain, so when a client recommended La Cour Des Augustins I eagerly gave it a go.

Light sensor in bathroom broken - I have to close the door to the bathroom to not have light in the room.

Design windows had no ventilation option, it was either full closed or full open.

The only downside I found was that there was no air conditioning and the room was rather stuffy with the window shut,

but even has a dishwasher and seemed fully equipped for self catering), a comfortable rocking chair / sofa, a very comfortable bed (neither too hard nor too soft), desk, efficient aircon, 3 large windows, a separate dressing area and an airy bathroom.

Note 2: the annex is a 3 storey building with NO LIFT so make sure you tell them upfront if you are an elderly/disabled/pregnant person etc

First day when I arrived, I got a room on the main wing and returned a second night and got a room on the other wing with no lift.

The only thing the one in the rear has no elevator, the concierge helped me with luggage.

A word of warning - the hotel does not have an elevator!

There are two buildings and no lift in the rear one where our room was, so be prepared to carry your luggage up to 3 floors.

Be carful about booking a room in the back building as there is no lift in it.

NB for those with limited mobility, there isn't a lift so you should ask for a ground floor room.

Only slight complaint was that being next to the lifts was a touch noisy in the morning.

a bit difficult to find the room (the lift opens on two sides and if you get out the wrong side it's sort of strange.

We could hear the lift engine from our room on the fourth floor as well as steps from the apartment above ours.

The hotel is divided in two buildings, one without elevator.

There also appeared not to be a lift in the second building, so if you have difficulty with stairs, you will need to make that clear when booking to ensure a room in the main building.

When we rebooked in July 2022  our credit was still valid The staff were extremly friendly and helpful.

This hotel could not have done more for us, the staff are efficient and friendly.

The hotel is located in the central area, next to the University Hospital in Geneva and 10-15 minutes from the downtown and the lake.Despite some street works, the rooms are quiet, have all the comfort and are very clean.The first of the qualifiers are the attitude of the friendly staff which is always available to help you!

but if you like to see absolutely everything, then 3 days tops)  but on the plus side, the staff were super friendly and accommodating.

The owner and staff were welcoming and gracious, consistently going well above and beyond to ensure that every detail was exactly to our liking.

although I requested a bed, when I arrived, the staff had already prepared an extra bed at no cost.

Stark contrast with Hotel Helmhaus in Zurich who, with a similar non refundable booking, allowed us to defer again and were quick and very polite over the email.

The people who work here are all warm, lovely folks who will help you with anything you might need.

My only remark would be that the walls are a bit thinner.

..usual door slamming by other guests at night/early morning, and guests beside us were knocking on the wall when we had the tv volume up too high one night, and the lights would also go off for a second or two every now and then!!

The room also had a fixed wall hair-drier, I really only expect to see these in a 3 star hotel.

The walls looked like they could have used a new coat of paint.

A few scuff marks on walls ( easily removed)

The only downside was that the walls in the room were pretty worn out and seriously needed some paint.

The leather bedstead was peeling off, the walls had luggage marks all over them.

Some remarks regarding the hotel :
The walls are very thin and you can
hear loud voices from neighboring 
rooms.

However, on closer inspection you notice that many of the furnishings are of domestic quality and starting to show early signs of wear… The coffee table leg was bent and the TV was not perpendicular to the wall as should be.

All the rooms have white walls and a dark brown wooden floor.
