Kipling is in a wonderful location - very easy to walk all over Geneva.

The neighborhood is a tad on the moderate side -  as one often finds close to the main train station,  But it's an easy walk to all major sites.

Its in an interesting neighbourhood, certainly not what I was expecting from Geneva.

But the neighborhood just down the street is quite seedy.

although the area overall is a tad bit seedy.

Although the location is central and very close to the railway station and city center, is in an area which seems to be a little bit dangerous, and less populated by tourists.

but only 10 minutes from the lake and we never felt unsafe unlike in some other European cities.

The hotel faces what looks like 2 abandoned buildings in a so-so neighborhood.

And the neighborhood is very rundown and in a seedy part of town,

Not sure about the neighborhood walking down Rue Navigation towards the lake and in the surrounding streets

The only drawback that there is a park/school a block to the south of the hotel which was a tad sketchy, so it should be avoided if alone or at night.

The place is in the red light district (some yelling at night, some scary faces walking pass)  as you shower the water tents to switch between freezin cold to hot as hell.

It's located in a lively neighbourhood, so it was quite loud up to midnight.

Only real complaints are the shady neighborhood as mentioned by others - a lot of men loitering around the park nearby was a little unsettling at night.

but the area is bit shady, if you are looking for bachelor fun then the back allies are full of your interest.

All rooms are around 235 sq fr/ 22 sq meters, and we didn't hear any noise from our room facing the street.

We stayed five nights in two interconnecting rooms at the end of a corridor, with a small kitchen area.

The location, the rooms, the breakfast, and the friendly staff, it all results on a very competitive price-quality combination.

The rooms are nice and cosy,l and they contains everything you need.

This hotel was by far the best deal of our trip-we had 2 rooms, one for my husband and I and 1 for our kids next door.

This time I stayed in a superior room including a kitchenette and a large bathroom.

Our room was well appointed and very comfortable.

I will never forget this kindness.Laura @ reception gave us room with shower + mat, mobility issue.She gave tips of places & bus / tram info.

We traveled with 3 people, and it worked out nicely for 3 people in the room.

I was very pleased with my room (the balcony was an unexpected surprise) - a decent size for a short stay.

In addition to giving us a great room, the staff at the front desk helped us plot our day and also brought us coffee while we waited (15 minutes or so) for our room.

Young lady staffing the receptionist desk when we arrived around 7 PM was friendly and offered any assistance we could ask., And in the morning we were at the airport in less than 10 minutes.

The staff were helpful, and there are lots of places nearby to eat.

In most other cities I would state this is incredibly overpriced,

Close to train station as well so it makes it convenient for travel.

This hotel served us well, as it was a short walk from the station.

Nice area, 8 minute walk from the lake/fountain and 15-18 min from the old city.

The beautiful Geneva Lake is about 6 minutes walk away.

but a five minute walk takes you to the lake, from there to the Old Town and the tram is a minute’s walk.

The free transit pass also makes life easier if you aren't into walking.

My colleagues and I would often walk from downtown back to the hotel at night, and it was always a pleasant walk.

We came here and they stated the air conditioning is not powerful enough to keep up saying “this is europe”.

I understand that In Europe, air conditioning has traditionally not been used much.

Turned right down to lowest temperature with fan on full all night (noisy) and windows open - did not seem to make the slightest bit of difference.

In-suite amenities included air conditioning, strong wi-fi, a mini-fridge, and a coffee maker with various coffee and tea supplies.

One of the light sensors in the room kept making an irritating clicking sound every 60 seconds or so, again which disrupted sleep.

However, when we stayed the room was warm throughout as the airconditioning was only kicking out warm air (we were advised by reception that this was the case throughout the hotel due to the time of the year - late October -

but it's impossible to be in the room because air-condition wasn't cooling enough.so we took a fan.

My only slight criticism is that the shower design leaks water into the floor, and I had to ask for extra bath mats to absorb this.

There is no air-conditioning in the hotel, so get ready to sweat, and that point alone makes your entire experience just feel terrible.

Only downside was the crazy mood light machine which I ended up switching off!

The air conditioning/heating suspended unit is incredibly noisy.

but hot and could not cool it down using air con.

However the thermostat wasn't working (too hot) so we spent the night alternating opening/closing the window to get fresh air.

The hotel was well sound insulated, very little light and noise entered the room and the air conditioning was sufficient.

No heating in April in a 4star hotel in Geneva..they bring you extra blankets looking like army gear and a portable heater that keeps on maling noise all night long.

The weather is hot and there is no Air cooling in rooms therefore rooms are boiling.

Most annoying, our air conditioning did not work.

but non-functioning air conditioning isn't acceptable.

Although there seems to be a temperature control dial on the wall leading to an air conditioning unit, changing the temperature did not do anything and the room was an uncomfortable temperature for us to sleep.

SHOWER: The hallmark of any hotel room is a clean bed, good bathroom, and a decent shower.

Stayed here in November 22 with a groups of friends, our accommodation was bright, modern, and clean, the rooftop balcony had a lovely view of Leman, city noise could be locked out and nights were quiet, warm, and comfortable.

The room itself was clean and spacious, the bed comfortable, and tea/coffee making facilities and toiletries generously provided.

It was a lovely size, beautiful decor and very clean.

Pros - Very clean, cool art work in the hotel, lovely bar (more expensive than some others though), funky rooms and upgraded to a lake view for no extra cost, close to the train station.

This is a really clean, modern hotel located less than a five minute walk from the lake.

It definitely has a boutique feel with trendy design and unique room features, like the ‘chromotherapy’ inspired lighting option.

Decor including artwork carry modern theming aligned with our groups interests, and motorcycles in the lobby were a welcome addition, all in all pleasant and memorable stay..

Very stylish public areas with lots of cool contemporary art and many colors and loads and loads of fantastic art science etc books all around the hotel.

This is a nice hotel and given that Geneva is super expensive city (probably most expensive city in world I have been too) and i have been to many cities (Tokyo, Hong Kong, London and Moscow) the value for this hip and trendy hotel is fantastic.

We stayed here for the weekend and found the hotel and its staff to be modern trendy and well presented.

The hotel has a stylish and very modern interior decor and is finished to a high quality.

The bedroom, and hotel generally was beautifully decorated.

I don’t know if the headboard serves any purpose or fits in the decor though.

Very nice room for the price, lots of space and decor felt like a more expensive option.

The street leading to the train station was all light up with colorful lights for the holiday season, not to mention the Laderach chocolate shop there too.

Hotel N'vy is a trendy 4 star hotel located in the center of Genève.

The hotel décor was of a hire standard as was the room, the room felt huge after just coming from Paris.

Nicely decorated hotel with interesting design concept to private and public spaces.

Room was good, very modern snd all amenities included even good WiFi.

Stayed in this hotel for over one week, the hotel is located at the end of lack Léman opposite the old city, nice modern place in close distance to the train station and public tram .

From the lobby to our room, everything was jazzy and modern.

Modern looking hotel and a totally pleasant stay.

Clean, modern, friendly staff and not too far from everything.

We were also offered an upgrade and the suite was modern and clean.

This is a beautifully furnished hotel with modern colorful furniture.

The breakfast I had there was enjoyable to me as I purchased it as part of my room and the hotel bar setting was very contemporary which I prefer.

The room, like the hotel, was up to date and modern.

Such a modern hotel located 10 minutes walk from the main train station.

It is a Hotel quite different from the rest, very modern with an arty touch, and with bold colors which almost give you an Ibis feeling.

And when I arrived at the hotel after a short walk from Gare Cornavin station, the check-in process with the receptionist, during which I received my room key card and a card for free public transportation, was fast and efficient.

I even received a free pass for public transportation while I was here.

The hotel is close to public transport and a free tourist pass makes this a superb option for exploring Geneva.

Otherwise, the hotel was nice and centrally located near the train station and the public transportation.

But quite honestly we feel you could ride public transport there for free anyway because nobody checks if we had tickets.

As an unexpected bonus to our stay we got the city public transportation tickets for free (valid for 2 days, isn’t it great and super convenient?).
