We came here and they stated the air conditioning is not powerful enough to keep up saying “this is europe”.

I understand that In Europe, air conditioning has traditionally not been used much.

Turned right down to lowest temperature with fan on full all night (noisy) and windows open - did not seem to make the slightest bit of difference.

In-suite amenities included air conditioning, strong wi-fi, a mini-fridge, and a coffee maker with various coffee and tea supplies.

One of the light sensors in the room kept making an irritating clicking sound every 60 seconds or so, again which disrupted sleep.

However, when we stayed the room was warm throughout as the airconditioning was only kicking out warm air (we were advised by reception that this was the case throughout the hotel due to the time of the year - late October -

but it's impossible to be in the room because air-condition wasn't cooling enough.so we took a fan.

My only slight criticism is that the shower design leaks water into the floor, and I had to ask for extra bath mats to absorb this.

There is no air-conditioning in the hotel, so get ready to sweat, and that point alone makes your entire experience just feel terrible.

Only downside was the crazy mood light machine which I ended up switching off!

The air conditioning/heating suspended unit is incredibly noisy.

but hot and could not cool it down using air con.

However the thermostat wasn't working (too hot) so we spent the night alternating opening/closing the window to get fresh air.

The hotel was well sound insulated, very little light and noise entered the room and the air conditioning was sufficient.

No heating in April in a 4star hotel in Geneva..they bring you extra blankets looking like army gear and a portable heater that keeps on maling noise all night long.

The weather is hot and there is no Air cooling in rooms therefore rooms are boiling.

Most annoying, our air conditioning did not work.

but non-functioning air conditioning isn't acceptable.

Although there seems to be a temperature control dial on the wall leading to an air conditioning unit, changing the temperature did not do anything and the room was an uncomfortable temperature for us to sleep.

Good location, 3 mins walking distance from Geneve Lake, quick check in, comfortable / clean rooms,  good breakfast.

SHOWER: The hallmark of any hotel room is a clean bed, good bathroom, and a decent shower.

The room itself was clean and spacious, the bed comfortable, and tea/coffee making facilities and toiletries generously provided.

Spotless rooms and room service is fantastic!

the terrace in the room, apparently, was never cleaned, the ashes on the cigarette heaped on the sofa, the sock left by the previous guest in the bathroom - this is such a luxury and cleaning.

Shower in a bath with high sides and faulty , slow water drain so standing in bath water.

However, there was an awful sewage smell on the 6th floor which was very unpleasant when walking to an from the lift area.

Cons:

One of the rooms and the hallway smelled like cigarettes.

We were given a smoking room, which we couldn’t cope with despite trying.

In addition I was given a smoking room in a smoking floor

The cleaning was not good as the carpet floor was very dusty and smelly.

It's impossible to open the windows without being nauseated by the powerful smell.

but did not smell like one and did not bother us.

And last time  our room smelled of cigarets the entire stay.

The people are very nice, the only thing is they give you a room with a lot of tabac smell without asking.

When we checked out we were told that a fan was available - too late for us, we had already had a rotten nights sleep.

However, when we checked in and went to our room we found that we had a smoking room.

On the minus is the noise and that I got a smoker room ( I'm non smoker).

Although we had to change rooms upon check in because of a smoky odor in the room, our next room was airy, clean and just what we had in mind.

Along with most of Switzerland, food is expensive.

Parking is in the garage, extra cost of 10 CHF.

They overcharged compared to price that was on reservation by 10% and this wasnt the stay tax and when requesting help for a fridge to hold my medication in there was an extra charge for providing a fridge.

and they charged us the price shown at the reception, not taking into consideration that we booked and payed with booking.com- a website with whoom we belive you have solid backgrounds!

but expensive as well (like everything in Switzerland).

Geneva Switzerlan is a very expensive city,

Unfortunately that does not compensate for hotel restaurant being closed on weekends, or that a bottle of water is very expensive.

The hotel is particularly good value considering the choice in Geneva which is typically either very good and hugely expensive or very bad and still expensive.

I didn't like breakfast at all as it was quite poor and unreasonable pricey, for an instance there was no cheese, no porridge and an omelette was not tasty.

Should have bottles of water in the room - even if they need to be paid for.

This is not a country to visit if you are travelling through Europe on a budget, everything was incredibly expensive everywhere even the grocery stores.

The breakfast was not great, especially given the price.

For the price of the hotel and its distance from the center i would avoid it the next time.

Moreover, they contained a different reservation number from the one in my original confirmation email.

There was a little mix up regarding the number of people in the booking

On this occasion, our Easyjet flight from Geneva to London was cancelled and it was total chaos at the Customer Service desk - some three hours later I emerged from battle being told no flights available for 24 hours and they sent us all to a Ramada in the Carouge suburb of Geneva for a free night and dinner and drinks on them which was unexpected from Easyjet.

When I booked, I was a bit concerned about the location, loads of train tracks next to the hotel and I was concerned about the noise level.

First thing is to make sure you know how to drive here because the car park is the main La Praille shopping centre car park and barely signposted, nor mentioned in the hotel booking form.

Then they stated we only had one night when in fact we had booked two.

The hotel was booked by my company and the experience was poor.

Had I known this I would have never booked this hotel!

The hotel has dedicated non smoking floors, our request for non smoking room didn't go thru due to Cosmos bungling up reservations

Before booking, you may want to check if the renovation is complete or to which floor your reservation is being held.

TV in english is fairly restricted, so bring books or ipad..

Needed a hotel for a conference at Palexpo and this is where our group were booked too.

So my boyfriend booked this hotel and when I read the reviews I was slightly worried about going here as it seemed to be business orientated!

The room was very warm when entering and it took a while before it cooled down.

but the bad was that there was no air-conditioning in my room so the windows had to remain open.

It was very hot when we were there, and as the hotel doesn't have air conditioning (which I don't mind), they are happy to lend an electric fan.

I’ve stayed in the 4 Star resorts in Geneva before and they don’t have much on this place (except A/C).

This property does not have air conditioning, and leaving windows open at night tends to bring in excessive noise.

but the hotel is hot and stuffy, have to keep the windows open, so street noise interrupts sleep all night.

There are other hotels in the same lane with a/c.

Worst of all no AC in August when it was 30 degrees, they give you a small fan from the 1900s and outside is very noisy until at least 3am, good luck sleeping.

Check was friendly and quick.rooms are very hot no air conditioning and we found out that they turn the hot water down in summer so for 2 days it was cold outside so we wanted a hot shower no it is luke warm .

This hotel has no air conditioning, the lift is only big enough for one person,it’s really noisy & the room was small & quite clostrophobic!!

there's always a party going on outside in the alley and back parking lot and it doesn't matter if you're down low or up high -the noise seems to last half the night.

However, there were problems -  no aircon and room fan was unable to cope so the room was day and night too warm to be comfortable;  bathroom radiator could not be turned off; bathroom ventilation fan did not work despite being reported to reception; bath wall handle to loose to be usable; kettle in room

But it is noisy at night and the room are hot no AC and we were there in April Temp in mid 20's.

Rooms on the small side and no airconditioning so may not be suitable for July and August.

All it had was a pedestal fan that had a timer on it.

The big thing here is there is no air conditioning!

Sleeping is hard to do with all the noise from the bar/restaurant across the street.

The Room
Our room was at the back of the hotel, and therefore may have been the reason why we didn't experience as much noise as some of the previous guests.

The fan in each room helps quite a bit (and can mask some street noise).

although the hotel is directly opposite a noisy bar so we didn’t get much sleep due to noise (when windows were open) or heat (when closed).

.but they can't do anything about the 2 big problems- noise and uncomfortably hot rooms

- noisy street especially early Monday morning - rubbish collection appears to be ongoing from m 5am.

We had a room to the street and found the noise level acceptable.

Bathroom: poor condition and need updating badly.

The reason for the lack of sleep was because the hotel is situated on a busy (noisy) road with a typical continental restaurant on the pavement right opposite. 3.

There is a very active bar next-door so while your windows are open and you can hear the drunks out in the street until the very wee hours walking under your window.

Opening the window only led to the noise from outside interrupting sleep further.

so we had to have the bedroom window open.

There was no Air conditioning so we had to open the window at night.

but the double glazed windows masked most of it.

While it is in the center of the city, the insulated windows keep the city sounds from intruding.
