An uncomfortable compromise at best

Holiday Inn express hotels near the airports are usually there to facilitate weary travelers to get a quick access to the nearby airport.

Extremely helpful staff, nice breakfast and close to the airport.

I stayed here as I wanted a place close to the airport and due to the fact their sister hotel in Zurich was quite good.

I booked mostly for the convenience of being near to the airport and it did the job perfectly for me.

After staying 5-6 times at hotels in Geneva city center, we wanted to try less expensive hotel close to the airport and we made a great choice.

Great place to stay if you wish to be close to the Airport.

The best thing about this hotel is the fact it is so close to the airport and a shuttle is offered as well as a free Geneva travel pass during your stay at the hotel.

Simple clean quite hotel

Check first airport shuttle time as it may not be early enough to get you to the airport if you have a extremely early flight.

Then the airport shuttle was about to leave and the lady had already arranged the breakfast including cereals, milk and fruits.

In summary a good budget hotel, good staff and close to the airport with a free shuttle bus and the public bus goes by the front of the hotel to the airport for the times the shuttle does not run.

Airport shuttle was prompt, quick trip to hotel, easy check in, pleasant atmosphere, and smiling faces.

Free breakfast next morning and free shuttle back to the airport or a 24 hour free public transportation ticket to get to town.

The shuttle from the airport was a simple way to get there and back, with the free metro/bus passes at the counter making the balance of our travel simple.

This hotel is very good value for money given how expensive it is in Geneva. It has a free shuttle every 15-20mins from the airport, it is walking distance/close to the Tram and it has free/includes a good breakfast for a good price (cheaper than the Movenpick hotel beside it.)

There was no airport noise the staff was friendly, free breakfast, very close to bus stops, dual adaptor plugs, I could add more.

As typical Holliday Express you know what to expect, English speaking staff, breakfast, and free WIFI.

Lovely place to visit for a short time only niggles no hot option at breakfast and no where to eat on a Sunday lunch or Sunday evening in the area !

He gave us one day pass for public transport as well.

POSITIVES
(+) The location was the main benefit as the hotel is in 5 mins proximity to the airport and the public transport is at a 3 min walk

(+) Internal design and infrastructure of the hotel is chic and modern with good color design and mix of elements to comfort the eyes

NEGATIVES
(-) The room was regrettably too small and as a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids) we felt that we had made a wrong choice.

You get a free public transport card when checking in, so you can also reach the airport with bus easily (they don't have the shuttle early in the morning,

You also receive a free ticket on public transportation for the period of your stay which literally gives you access to every part of the city on a system of trams and buses with the precise time of a Swiss watch.

Associate also offered me a card for free public transport within Geneva which very good to me as a solo traveller (travel with budget money).

but the public transportation is so great in Geneva, it would be just as easy to stay in a hotel downtown with more personality and better neighborhood ambiance.

Shuttle bus from  Airport  terminal-   we  were  given  passes  for  public  transport-
Bladonnet  tram  stop is  right beside the  hotel- trams  are  frequent and  it  took  about  15  mins  to  get  into  centre  of  Geneva.

Public transportation stop right in front, and buses run to catch that early flight.

To our surprise they gave us a  tourist transport passes to use the public transport free for the time we were there.

Closeness to the airport, to a small shopping center and to public transportation makes this hotel a very handy choice.

Once at the hotel, we were provided with public transport cards for free which covered our transport for the 2 days we stayed.

Although keep in mind you are not in US therefore rooms are tiny, and bathrooms are even smaller.

If you have an early flight and you need to return a rental car, this is your hotel to spend the night before.Relatively small rooms

Its a biz hotel - so small rooms, warm shower, basic internet, simple breakfast and you are out of there.

Very average, ok if you want to stay for short period, very basic breakfast, travel passes given which really helped me, rooms were small

Just way too expensive for such a small room,

There were pubic hairs on the toilet floor when we arrived and there’s mildew in the corners of the shower stall (photos attached).

The only negative I have is the coffee is rotten!

The bathroom was notably dirty with significant mildew staining along the tub lining and above the shower.

There was at the time a smell of glue (following the redecoration which had just been completed) which was frankly unpleasant.

The room was stuffy, the air smelt of cigarettes and vacuum cleaner scent tablets (supposedly this used to a smoking floor - the smell reminded me of a railway wagon that once had a smoking compartment. ).

Given that the whole hotel did not have the odor,

The room was just alright, a bit musty, a bit dated, and could use a renovation.

but room very musty with no opening windows.

It doesn't look much from the outside and it did smell strongly of alcohol as we entered,

You don't get used to the smell of vomit.

The elevator had a very foul odor of urine and it was not a pleasant experience taking the elevator to the rooms

I had no complaints regarding my stay 3 years ago and my only complaint this year is that there was a slight hint of urine smell in the area of the bathroom toilet in my room.

No in-room safe, and the room reeked of a cheap deodorizer that was fighting hard against the smell of cigarette smoke.

The only issue being that there aren't any smoking rooms, there's nothing else to complain about with this hotel.

We appreciate the warm welcome, good breakfast,  nice ambiance of the hotel esp the location as places we like were easily walkable from the hotel.

We were awfully hungry and I was informed that the restaurant is already closed and there are no other nearby restaurants.

CONS:
- restaurant is closed on weekends, so there is nothing to eat on the premises (except for breakfasts, which are served on a daily basis);
- can't really think of any other, especially if planning to stay for a short citybreak or a biz trip and not being too picky on details.

even though we had phoned the day before to confirm our arrival time and that the restaurant and bar were both closed so we couldn't even have a drink while our room was prepared.

The second and more minor complaint is the fact the bar is closed very early.

The cons are: not very much is happening around the hotel (this can also be a pro), the restaurant was closed for dinner, and possibly the location depending upon the purpose of your visit.

Location close to the botanical gardens, lake and the international organizations (UNO, ICRC).

Close to bus stations - 2 mins away by walk - they are a short 10 min drive away from the old town and train station and close to the Botanical Gardens and the UN!

The hotel’s location is convenient for using public transport, helped by the Geneva Travel Cards and is very near the lakeside and gardens.

This is one of the best places to stay in Geneva.~ It's close to Botanical Gardens and nice restaurants on the lakefront.

Especially to highlight is the variety and quality of the breakfast buffet as well as the kindness of the staff in the entire hotel.

The morning breakfast, we were impressed by all the young servers, they were presented much more friendly and polite compare to the senior servers!
