Our room was spacious and beautifully appointed.

Now I have to type this review from outside our room close to the central stairwell.

The room was beautiful, lovely to have a coffee machine too.

We had a very comfortable room with a balcony.

The biggest issues were that the bathroom had a horrible odor coming from the drain and the two sitting chairs were utterly worn out, one of them totally sprung and other’s fabric worn through to the frame.

Very noisy with construction next door and late night guests standing outside smoking.

Room for improvement:
- Our room smelled like cigarette smoke upon check-in.

however, the shower needed a scrub to remove some mold.

Someone smoked in the courtyard and the smoke entered our window above it.

but strange room with the toilet the opposite side of the room to the bathroom.Overall disappointing .Unless you like old musty buildings go for something more modern

Wifi was spotty and there was the faint smell of what could have been sewage coming from the bathroom,

though guests are not supposed to smoke anyway).

The only thing I didn't like about this hotel was some smell.

Only gripe was smoking guests in central courtyard- smell wafted into our room.

The only negative aspect was the strange smell coming out of the bathroom, I hope they
will fix this problem.

You enter to the smell of beeswax, the sight of gleaming wood and a feeling if entering someone's home.

The bad:  There was an odd smell in the room.

Next, the junior suite they had for us smelled horrible, like a combination of "old room" and smoke.

Unfortunately, the bed was very uncomfortable, the sitting room furniture was so old we thought we might break it, the bathroom had a retched smell, and the room made lots of creaking sounds during the night.

The service staff were warm, charming and efficient.

Reception was beyond helpful and friendly.Im usually a modernist

Ronda is a nice town and I would recommend at least two nights to relax into the small town Spain experience.

Only a 15 minute walk from the bus station, this pretty hotel is situated just across the bridge in the old town.

The town Ronda is wonderful scenic place and with lots of beautiful house and street.

The shower leaked through the door, there was mold and rot on the baseboards, poorly applied silicone caulk around the shower door, discolored wallpaper, the sink barely drained, smudges on the walls, the towel rack was falling off the wall, the sink faucet looked like it came from a dumpster dive.

but they were not noisy,

Two small negatives: It is pretty difficult to figure out how to turn on the shower.

My only complaint would be a slightly damp smell from the bathroom after use,

Did not realize that our shower was inside our room with no room separation; basically the shower was right next to our bed.

but well equipped rooms though toilet facilities a bit too close if you are sharing a room.

The toilet was in a frosted glass cubicle, as was the shower in another, and they were both part of the "living" area.

The sink outside the bath cubical allows water to spill all over the bench.

As soon as we entered the room, we did not like the strange layout and immediately asked reception to be transferred to the higher level quarters which apparently offer a more conventional bathroom.

It had leaked and flooded the room underneath so we had to move rooms.

Only downside was the room itself which awkwardly has no separate bathroom (!

But I am in a different room and I need a shaver for myself!

The only negative was the bathroom layout - there really isn't a way to get dressed anywhere

Shame the shower smelt really disgusting after use- they must have an issue with their plumbing.

We booked a double room with request a for a bath

Only thing to mention is the toilet and shower open directly into the bedroom, so not much privacy if you were two friends rather than a couple.

although there  was someone else's long hair on the floor in the bathroom.

Internet speed in the room could have been quicker and bathroom layout could do with a better design as sink would have been better in the bathroom rather than in the general room.

However I wish the toilet had a proper door instead of the glass door.

but we could hear every time someone in a nearby room flushed the toilet which was kind of annoying.

Also, it was slightly difficult to get out there (we're in our 70's) because the door was behind a curtain which didn't open completely and you had to step over the sill and down two stairs to get outside.

but you need to open two cupboard doors to get to the safe cupboard.

It is an odd, uncomfortable and unacceptable arrangement for both of us , made even more unpleasant as the almost transparent doors that did not go from floor to ceiling offered very little privacy.

), the toilet being enclosed by a door on one side of the bedroom with the shower on the other side and the sink in the sleeping area.

However, we had a situation  with our room that wasn’t resolved properly (got there one night to find the room door completely opened.

The only small reservation was that the toilet is essentially in your room (a frosted glass door in view of the rest of the room is not privacy) - this seems to be a trend among hotels modernising and I'm not sure it is a positive one.

although I wish there were a bathroom door in my room.

but when we went there & opened the door it hadn't been made up – back to Reception & we were then allocated room 221 - maybe a "whoops!"

The only negatives were the toilet and showering arrangements (see-through doors straight onto the room) not everyone wants to be in full view! !

but satisfactory lunch and cocktails, and very odd bathroom door situation (see other reviews).

The two areas was a part of the room with only a (frosted) glass door between.

but would waive the car parking fee, to top it off my rental car acquired a dent in the door whilst in the hotel car park.

To get it out of the way--as others have noted, the layout the room is a bit off with the toilet and shower not being really separated (small doors for each) from the main room.

The sink was in the bedroom, the shower was of good quality and separated from the room only by its glass door and the toilet separated from the room by a swinging glass door.

Not keen on the bathroom design, just a glass door separating the toilet from the room, so not very sound proof, so bare this in mind if for some reason you're not on intimate terms with your room mate!

And as others have experienced the glass toilet door is a little awkward as it is in lounge area .

The room was large and comfortable - I note that other reviewers felt somewhat uncomfortable with how the shower and toilet are just separated from the main bedroom by clear and opaque glass doors,

You can retreat back to peace and quiet, lovely gardens and views without all the people.

The terracing and gardens were extensive and beautiful with the most amazing views over the Tajo.

The hotel is surrounded by beautiful gardens and there is a terrace overlooking the gorge where you can sit and enjoy the sunset with a drink.

Amazing hotel with a lovely garden and pool area.

It is in a beautiful setting with gardens and a view to die for ..   All of our rooms (a group of 15) had views of the gorge.

Nice gardens to wander around and from where you can admire the view.

We had a comfortable stay, the hotel has magnificient views of the montains and its garden are so beautiful.

We had a small balcony overlooking the garden and  valley. Beautiful.

It has magnificent facilities: parking, swimming pool, spa and gardens with impressive views of the Serranía de Ronda.

The garden is beautiful and hotel is located close to the main attractions and also a food store in 5 mins walk.

The view from the garden overlooking the famous 'Tajo' or gorge is stunning and can be enjoyed whilst dining 'al fresco' - an especially enjoyable experience in the cool of the evening as the sun sets over the mountains beyond.

We loved everything: Staff, parking, room, view, breakfast, pool and garden.
