The room was impeccable and we had the terrace suite.

The room was immaculate as was the hotel, very ideally located close to the metro and a short walk to the Spanish steps and Trevi Fountain, would gladly book again in the future.

I can’t say enough fantastic things about this gorgeous, quaint, clean, amazing boutique hotel perfectly located.

but the bed was so comfortable, the bathroom lovely, everything very clean.

Great location, Great staff,  organized and well super clean rooms, amazing breakfast included in the price.

There is a lounge for afternoon drinks and the whole hotel is spotless!

They were clean, beds were very comfortable, and the employees were so kind.

We had two rooms (one suite, which I highly recommend) on the same floor which were clean, cozy and had everything we needed (robe, slippers, etc.).

Sure the Hotel Barocco is in a prime location and clean, quiet and comfortable

Needless to say that everything was spotless and breakfast is soooo yammi.

My hotel room was impeccably clean, with a comfortable bed and spacious shower stall.

but there was an additional short flight of stairs (5-6 steps) to reach my room from the hallway.

The hotel footprint is quite small and accordingly everything inside the hotel is small from the door to the hotel to the lobby and halls and elevator and most importantly the rooms.

The doors to the hallways are made of ridiculously thick wood to keep the noise out.

We were in Room 48; took the elevator to the 5th floor, then walked down 2 short flights of stairs and hallway to our room -- similar to a room we had at Banff Spring Resort years ago!

This is an old set of buildings so the hallways are a bit snug and the

We stayed in a deluxe double overlooking the plaza and fountain.

We recently spent 3 nights at the Barocco Hotel in rooms 42 and 44 (across the hall from each other).

However, I felt that the interior decor was dated and the corridors to the room were narrow and a little bit creepy.

We had a chance to check out the room across the hallway from us, which we would have much preferred.

What not to expect in the Barroc it is a boutique hotel small reception narrow corridors,

There were little angles and a tiny corridor to the bathroom which added to the interest and ambiance of the room.

But, newly renovated, bar the fact that the entrance is on the side of the building & not the front (although it says hotel on a old door) & the fact that the corridors might have been narrow, the renovated rooms/hotel looks amazing.

Our room was next to the entry door to the hall so Id recommend not getting that room if you want to sleep in,

however once inside these are all features that give the hotel it's feeling of warmth and make it stand out from the 'norm' - marble floors and walls, large displays of fresh flowers at intervals throughout the corridors; small bespoke stairs and only five or six guest rooms per floor make the experience unique and without doubt when returning to Rome we will stay at this hotel again.

The sound does travel in the corridors which may be due, in part, to the marble floors.

As other reviewers have mentioned the corridor flooring means you can hear people walking up and down outside the room and it was a little annoying not to have aircon available as it was winter

The Hotel should consider carpeting the hallways to minimize sound.

The property is located near the Trevi Fountain and walking distance to most attractions in Rome.

Fabulous location (walking distance to Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps; short taxi to the Vatican and Colosseum).

Wonderful location - easy to get on hop on/hop off bus (across the piazza), coffee shops and cafes all around the piazza, easy for taxi & scooters etc.

The location is terrific, in walking distance to many of Rome's famous sights.

It is in a great location and close to a lot of the important things people come to Rome to see.

The location is excellent and allows easy access to key sites around the city and to the Metro.

This is an excellent hotel in a great location.

the hotel is about two blocks from the top of the Spanish Steps so the location is phenomenal!

We chose it because of its location as being central to a lot of attractions we wanted to revisit.

Great location as well, close to the Trevi fountain, Spanish steps, Four Seasons corner and other sites, as well as great stores.

The hotel is in a wonderful location - an easy walk to the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and the Pantheon.

Great location - close to a number of the key Rome attractions, close to the best shopping and there are many wonderful restaurants & bars close by.

but the AC was poor, bed sheet quality was poor and itchy, and the shower did not drain so we were taking a shower in a pool of water and had to stop before it overflowed.

The cost was less then a poor glass at home without nibbles!

Lighting was poor and of course no makeup mirror.

Would not recommend eating in the conservatory restaurants located around the corner from the hotel-very poor food and service.

Bad: The room size was disappointing, the room design was very poor.

WIFI:  Unfortunately wifi was very poor and as a business traveler this was a bit challenging -

We had a standard room which was not large and had a poor view

We both jumped on it before the poor gentleman showing us the room amenities could gasp in surprise!

Room 13 is small with poor lighting and a limited view.

Although wi-fi is free, connection is very poor and you have to keep logging in.

We had a lovely room with a bath and shower.

Rooms are fabulous, we stayed twice / once at the front end of our 14 day trip through Italy / then again at the end since we flew out of Rome both ways.

Our room was adequate, with large windows overlooking the quiet side street.

We stayed in two different rooms, both were of a high standard.

Book the terrace room with jacuzzi and sauna!

We booked a classic room which was fine for one night.

We stayed in a larger room this time that had a small outdoor patio which we loved.

but very comfortable, and we had a room overlooking the Triton Fountain.

Beautiful twin room with elegant touches.

The elevator is really small and could barely fit 2 people and 2 luggages.

It has only 1 small elevator and it takes sometimes a while till it gets to you.

There is one small elevator, appropriate for a hotel of this size and with little wait time.

Elevator was very small and air conditioning was not very cold (typical for Europe).

The elevator was also small and slow and I had to go up four flights of stairs,

Although the elevator was tiny, it was modern and quick to respond when called.

This hotel is in a old building and has been renovated to high modern standards, yet it remains quaint with narrow passageways and a small elevator.

but everywhere in Rome has a small elevator and that really doesn't hold you back.

Our room #62 was a superior located just off the tiny elevator.

Spanish steps are 8-10 min walk; Trevi fountain is 5 min walk.

You are 5-6 minutes away from the Trevi Fountain and about 10 minutes to the Spanish Steps.

It’s a boutique hotel which is well situated between the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain.

The location is great, about a ten-minute walk to Trevi Fountain and great shopping.

Just come back from the Rome times hotel , well situated hotel for all the tourist attractions , very clean and pleasant staff and nice breakfast .

Location was perfect, we walked to every attraction including the Vatican which was a 45 minute walk.

Could not have asked for a better location with the main attractions within a 15 min walk (only used the train once to get to the Vatican!).

On to the room -the bathroom door is made of frosted glass -what’s that about?

Really close to everything you want tl see when in Rome and they even provide a mobile phone in your room to use maps and calls etc.. 
Only down side is its not very soundproof and in the night could hear noises of toilets flushing and doors opening from other rooms.

A little bigger bathroom and a door closing of the bathroom would have been better.

The ONLY "negative" to our hotel room is that there's no door for the bathroom (except the toilet).

Only issue we had was the fact our room was incredibly hot and there was a smell which we overcome by ensuring the door to the bathroom was closed and the toilet seat down.

but had a feature that we didn't expect - no door to the bathroom.

Of note, there is no door to the bathroom area or a shower door/ curtain, just a door for the toilet.

The only negative was that there was no door to the bathroom so the shower was visible (the toilet area was separate and did have a door).

However our bathroom door was a sliding door luckily we are a couple and didnt mind this.

The rooms are modern, my only thing is that I'd prefer an actual door into the toilet shower area rather than a sliding door just being fussy.

You actually hear the person next door showering.

Some of the reviews mention no bathroom door,

but was kinda odd for us used to close door showers.

however - the bathroom door lock was broken although this didn't matter too much to us.

But we hung a towel over the shower door for privacy.

Some people may not like the fact that there is no door to the bathroom (although there is to the toilet)

There was just a little mold by the corner of the shower door,

The bathroom door was broken, not replaced and there was a cheap paravan to use instead.. Minibar was free perhaps because of this.

Very handy for the Colosseum which is very close by and the Trevi fountain.

The hotel itself is in a perfect location, 10 minutes each way to both the Trevi fountain and Colosseum and just 30 minutes in a taxi from Ciampino airport.

Location seemed closest to trevi fountain about a 10 minute walk with the colosseum not too far away in the opposite direction again about a 10 min walk.

Walkable to Ancient Rome (ie Colosseum), Trevi Fountain, Termini Station, and other sites.

You can walk to the Colosseum, Pantheon, Forums, Trevi Fountain, etc all within 10-15 minutes.

It is a great location as others have said near colosseum , Trevi fountain and Spanish steps a longer walk to Vatican all in all we’ve had a lovely stay and would recommend .

The Rome Times was a lovely hotel located within walking distance of many Rome sites like the Colosseum.

Literally down the road from the Venetian palace, Trevi fountain, Spanish steps, Colosseum, Roman Forum - all no more than a 20 minute walk away.

Within walking distance to the colosseum, the Trevi Fountain & the Spanish Steps.

We walked to the pantheon,  the Vatican,  Spanish steps, piazza navonna,  colosseum.

We thoroughly enjoyed how close it was to the train, fountain, colosseum, and restaurants.

It's not far from the Termini Station, and a good launching place for walking to the Trevi Fountain, the Corner of the Four Fountains, Sta Maria di la Vittoria (for its Bernini), Piazza Navona, the Colosseum, and the Pantheon.

Our room was in the second building a few doors down from the main building, and I’ve seen a few reviews complaining about this

however the doors are very loud and we could always here people coming back and talking outside the door at night, it was like they were in the room with you.

We had to pay extra to get a room with some privacy as the original room had a glass shower with no door and everyone could see it someone was taking a shower.

Only complaint was restaurant area is cold depending on where you are seated, main entrance for hotel has sliding doors so in morning when reception is busy doors are automatically open, too cold in winter !

The sink is in the room with the shower and toilet in a separate area only enclosed by a thin glass door.

This hotel was strangely set up - the front desk/lobby is not connected with many of their rooms which are only accessible from an alternative door.

When we enter our room I notice there’s a door leading to some kind of stairs, which I found quite odd in term of safety, so I decided to carry my valuables all times, 2 nights later I notice the door was left open, none of us ever open the door, so we immediately ask the front desk, they said they will investigate it

We were somewhat surprised when being led to our room to discover that we had to leave the building and and walk to a different building a few doors along.

Also, could hear when the guest in the room next door used the bathroom in the night, could hear them flushing the toilet and when they used the shower in the morning.

Also door is sliding and has no lock, so it’s not really private at all.

We then experience the worst domestic argument from the people next door and this went on till early hours in the morning as I had to go to reception and complain.

There is a toilet in the bathroom and this does have a door!

The room itself had a few issues first floor in the annexe , as soon as you opened the door on hot day you could smell sewers and drains wasn’t pleasant .

The room door is very heavy and walls a bit thin!

Soundproofing was a bit of an issue as we could hear the guests next door sneezing, showering and going to the loo.

It was slightly dark near the door to the room and we couldn't make the light stay on for longer than a minute so it put the full length mirror on the wall out of action as you could barely see your reflection.

We couldn’t have the window open at night because the main road was far too noisy so had very little sleep over the 4 nights.

This was actually a blessing as having the window open cooled the room much better!

We left the window open one night to let some air in

But still made the room stuffy, we would have the window open

The only problem we had was that the room was very warm and when we tried to turn on the air, it did not work, so we had the window open every night,

Only gripe is that they don't have air conditioning in the room, a rule set by the Rome government apparently and you can't exactly sleep with the window open because of the noise!

The hotel is on a main road so if you do want the window open it's very noisy.

This room had windows on two sides so got a bit of light and was able to open the windows a bit to let some air in.

You could either have the window open with the sounds of the city or closed with the aircon on.

The only downside to this hotel was that the rooms were quite hot so we had to have the window open meaning it was very noisy at night.

The room was a little on the warm side which would have caused issues had we been forced to sleep with the window open

Upon asking for it to be lowered, the employee told us it was as low as it could go and advised us to open up our window (to a very noisy street).

Yet they repeatedly said its impossible someone smoking in our room and insisted the smell must have come from outside the window (note: none of the windows were open when we returned) and didnt give us any proper solutions.

The heating/cooling system in the room could be improved as it was very warm in the room and we had difficulty getting the room cool, resulting in having to leave the window open all night.

I thought the food was quite poor though.

The breakfast was poor, horrible and not tasty, it was not organised well and products were all cheap and watery; there was nothing good at the breakfast.
