If you want to walk to Piazza San Marcos and Rialto is about 20-25 min walking or you can take the vaporetto.

And the Hotel is 20-25 mins walk from Piazza san Marco -  this is ideal as Venice is most definitely a city to explore on foot.

The hotel is in a lovely location near to the edge of the island, about 20 minutes walk to Piazza San Marco.

but very well Positioned in the city of San Marco with approximately 15 minute walk from the Piazza bus terminal.

The main Venice station (piazza Roma) is a twenty minute walk.

You can walk to the rialto bridge and piazza san marco, approx 15 mins to the bridge and half hour to the piazza and basslilica.

I've spent a lot of money before staying in wonderful, expensive hotels surrounding Piazza San Marco and this hotel is in Cannaregio, a less travelled outer neighborhood.

The walk to Piazza San Marco and the other main sites is a lovely one, or you can walk to a vaporetto stop and go down the Grand Canal.

About twenty minutes to  Piazza San Marco by boat.

Although not located near the main attractions,eg Rialto Bridge,Piazza S Marco etc they are all easily reached by water bus.Alternatively,as we discovered it is very pleasant to take a steady walk from the hotel  to the "centre" passing many interesting buildings,bridges,shops and squares which you would normally miss out on.

The staff was wonderful, the hotel was beautiful, clean, safe, modern and only a 25 minute walk from Piazza San Marco.

We mostly walked everywhere on this trip, and the hotel was pretty easy to get to from Piazza San Marco and central Venice.

If you want to gently stroll around the city and not fall out the door straight onto Piazza San Marco, this is the hotel for you!

About 20 minutes by foot from the Rialto, and about another 10 minutes to Piazza San Marco.

We enjoyed being in a quiet location and yet you could easily walk to Ponte di Rialto in 15 mins and to Piazza san Marco in 30 mins.

Much more fun and interesting than another stroll in the main piazza!

Really comfortable and quiet the location is beautiful it surrounded by canal’s with local run restaurants and bars that probably best in area .

There were some local bars and restaurants about three minutes away which was perfect.

however, there is a fantastic strip along a canal full of little restaurants and bars.

but is very close to some great restaurants and bars.

Location  just right - a very short 3 min walk to bars and restaurants and 5 mins to shops.

The hotel is in a quieter neighborhood with lovely bars and restaurants in the area .

It was lovely to come away from all the crowds ( about 20 mins walk from St. Marks Square) It was situated in a nice quiet area with a few bars and restaurants close by.

Cannereggio is full of fabulous bars and restaurants, full of local people, eating and drinking quality produce at decent prices.

but never overbearing; the bar food/ room service was surprisingly excellent.

), and the cocktails in the bar were top notch.

A few streets from the hotel are many nice bars and restaurants which are reasonable in price and allow you to soak up the atmosphere with locals which was nice.

but you are within 100m of some great local restaurants and bars that are a foodie heaven with wines to match!

but there are plenty of restaurants and bars walking distance from the hotel.

but just a 5 minute walk from the hotel is a canal where drinks are cheaper and the bars and restaurants are more relaxed and friendly.

but as soon as you cross a bridge travelling more centrally into Venice, you find bars and restaurants.

This hotel is amazing absolutely stunning inside modern room with the old Venice feel to it .

The room was very comfortable and elegant.

We got upgraded on arrival to a suite which was brilliant and the room was lovely .

As we were on our honeymoon they offered us an upgraded room.

When we were able to access the room we were not disappointed, and were especially grateful for the complimentary bottles of water each day since it was so hot outside.

The hotel was incredibly charming and the rooms were very large for a European hotel.

The room was spacious, clean, comfortable and the air con was fantastic!

The housekeeping standards are extremely high our room was spotless.

Our room quirky and beautifully decorated with a sparkling clean bathroom.

At the end of the room, was the bathroom which was adequate.

We were upgraded to a superior room that was very nice and very clean.

but the breakfast was only average and the room was on the small side (appreciate this is Venice however!)

We had booked a classic double and were shown to room 202 which is very small and a slightly odd layout - we decided to pay a little extra an upgraded ourselves to a superior double and, from our point of view, it made a big difference with a substantially larger room and a much nicer feel.

Our room was a bit on the small side with a view over a side alley

My room was small even for a European hotel (reason for 4 stars rather than 5),

But the reason for the 4 star review is the room was tiny - barely enough room to walk around the bed with the luggage there.

We went there for our honeymoon , cannot speak more highly of the staff , first class from the reception to the restaurant.

The exterior and interior are beautiful, the staff are brilliant, our bedroom was absolutely beautiful and they even left me a birthday treat.

The staff were lovely, and provided us with a map which highlighted some of the key sights.

We had our water taxi pick us up and drop us off literally feet away from the from enetrance.The staff was very helpful and welcoming.

The most fabulous hotel in the best location with the best staff.

The staff are super helpful and the hotel itself is clean and quiet.

We utilised the hotels free taxi service to Murano, which picked us up from directly outside the hotel and dropped us off at one of the glass factories there where we received a tour.

And from there you can either walk 20mins to the hotel or take a water taxi.

Upon check out the next day I was hit with €70 for the cancelled taxi.

A water taxi is too expensive (for me to catch) and the public water buses, were that far away, it was just as quick to walk.

4 minute walk to orange taxi boat service which goes straight to airport in 20 mins for 15 euros.

Particularly liked pulling up outside in our water taxi!

Easy to get to from the airport via a water  taxi then a 10 minute walk.

The water taxi drop off was so convenient, the hotel was quiet, and the staff was friendly.

Fabulous canal side location which was around 15 mins door to door by private speed boat taxi for the 8 of us.

They offer a free water taxi to Murano to the glass factory which was great, we got the water bus to Burano from there which saved us money.

We had an 5am check out, the hotel arranged the water taxi for us and supplied a 'to go' breakfast.

The Jewish Ghetto is just down the road and very interesting, and it’s a 5 minute walk from the river taxi to the door of the hotel.

We took advantage of an evening boat tour by water taxi that they arranged with other hotel guests.

They organise a great trip by private taxi in the evenings up the Grand Canal and this was well worth the €35 each.

We took a private boat taxi from the Venice airport to our hotel which was very nice.

Getting therefrom airport we had a private water taxi.

The vaporetto is about 5-10 min walk to the Madonna dell'Orto stop and is a straight shot to the Venezia Santa Lucia Station with vaporettos stopping every 10 min or so.

A top choice for anyone's stay in Venezia!

We were able to get answers to all of our questions about Venezia.

Very relaxing to return to after a long day of walking around the stunning city of Venezia.

This was not our first visit to Venezia and we have to say that this hotels location was perfect.

but a short walk to all the sights, restaurants and  cafes.

It’s also in a great location, the water boat stops about a 5 minute walk away for arrival and departure, and it’s a short walk to the main places (15-20 mins).

I had took a photo of the directions online to walk.. and we arrived easily.

but plenty of local places to eat within 5 mins walk so no problem with that.

but 5 minute walk to lots of restaurants and shops .

While I was disappointed at first because it was a good 20 min walk to St Mark's, I realized that Venice was so overcrowded that it worked out in our favor.

It’s around a 15-20 minute walk to the centre of Venice - ie St Mark’s square.

The hotel is about a 25 minute walk from the main centre,

The Hotel is set away from the main area, around a 25 minute walk.

The location is ok, it takes 13 to 15 mins to the train station and maybe 20 to 25 mins to walk to St Mark's Square.

And walk to ceiling windows facing the canal.

but close enough to have a pleasant walk into it.

Located on a canal the views are great in the morning when you walk out.

The walk to St Marks square took about 20 minutes, we appreciated seeing the real venice near the hotel,

It is a solid 15 min walk from the St Lucia train station

What was that really odd, was that the room had only a skylight and one small window which was very, very high up the wall.

Room 208 was a double room and nicely decorated, not much of a view (mainly brick wall)

but instead our view looked out to a wall.

There was no view other than the wall of the neighbouring building.

but had no real view whatsoever apart from some facing walls.

The windows were orientated towards a wall (15cm distance between wall and windows).

I felt like a princess staying in my room, which was purple with gold accents on the walls.

They were totally indifferent to our complaints about our Room (shrugged shoulders, it's a City etc etc)neither were they responsive in any positive way to my whinge about the incessant loud muzak everywhere, including 2 speakers set into the wall of the corridor right outside our bedroom, playing from around 07.30 - 11.00 p.m.  Unforgiveable.

Our room was situated at the back of the hotel, with a view of a wall and windows and we had to walk through a covered way to get to it-very chilly in February.

Room ok bathroom exquisite only downfall bed next to the wall prefer it to be open both sides with maybe a bedside table & we only had views of roofs.

Our room was extremely small with not even enough room to walk around the bed as it was up against a wall.

Dusty Room & Flooded Bathroom: 
The walls, fixtures and fittings were dusty in our room with spider webs hanging from the ceiling and the bathroom flooded every time we showered due to poor plumbing and sealing.

However, they stayed in a room with a shower that had no walls and the bathroom flooded.

(The siding that runs along the corners of the walls even takes the shape of the hotel's signature arch at its peak.)

The only negative was the tub / shower placement in the bathroom, which was against the wall with the ceiling sloping down so you could not stand up in the shower and you had to take care not to bump your head on one of the large wooden beams as you got into the tub.

A few Mosquitos still squashed on wall that hasn't been cleaned off.

The only downside was the view of a wall!

The "Classic Double room" featured a tiny bed slammed against the wall, one desk and one chair and a closet with a safe deposit box too small for our iPads.

Our room did not have any canal view, nor any view at all, so we kept the windows closed or else we looked into neighboring homes.

We opened the window after the advise received from staff member.

To top it all, the mosquitoes were so bad and with the window open they were biting us throughout the night.

The bad thing for us since we were towards the end of the hotel was the Wi-Fi signal was weak and if you were on the side of the room by the window you wouldn't get it at all.

There is no view unless you specifically pay for a view though; there are windows

Had no view and only a shower no tub which is ok except the water from shower goes right out through shower curtain and the floor all around gets wet and very slippery.

The window in our hotel room leaked and the television did not work.

but the issues that we had there is there were signs on the windows saying do not open due to mosquitoes.

The bathroom was super and overall the decor was typically Venetian with pillars,drapes and not forgetting the tassels and tie backs.

The only reason I didn’t give full marks was the room was so hot had to keep window open then got bit by mosquitoes.

but the major downside to our room was the location with very little light from the windows which faced an alley from which pedestrians who could be heard talking early in the morning.

The bedrooms are typically Venetian with heavy drapes and rich, thick fabrics.

but we had no control over the temperature of the air conditioning so we would have to open the windows.

No kerb or pavement outside the windows just the canal.

Make sure you take notice of the mosquito warning on the rooms windows and keep them shut - we sat outside on the patio finishing our drinks on the last night and were bitten multiple times!

It has a very weird design and while you stand in the shower a sheer bath curtain clings to your body.

We were stuck inside the water taxi with limited views of venice, and it was actually the worst pictures you could take being inside taking pictures through a WINDOW.

We had a small mini bar, lovely bathroom, plenty of hangers and had a great breakfast every day.

Really enjoyed the breakfast too - especially the scrambled eggs and juice.

The staff were welcoming, breakfast kept us going well into the afternoon.

The breakfast was amazing offering a great choice of food served by friendly staff and we were able to sit outside overlooking their beautiful garden.

The breakfast in the morning was great as well.

Finally it was brilliant to be back in The Mask bar which has been beautifully redecorated and of course Giampaolo is the most wonderful barman, once again giving us excellent wine recommendations accompanied by delicious snacks!

Only possible negatives I could find, the corridors were very dark with dim lights.

There are a lot of dark and gold tones in the interior.

The dark furniture showed the dust unfortunately too.

but very dark .it was difficult to see even with all the lights on.

I was disappointed as soon as we got to the second floor- it was DARK!

Unusual decor in “carnival’ themes led to some strange color choices eg black walls, black ceilings , dark walls in corridors.

The hallway in each floor is very dark not sure why.

The hallways where the rooms are located are oddly dark,

Location wise it is in a quieter area of the city- plus point is that you are away from tourist noise, downside is that it is quite dark on walk back at nighttime.

The lighting in the hallways was a bit dark

Room very dark and beds outdated and not tom comfortable.

On arriving on the third floor I️ was surprised that the corridors were so dark.

While the lighting in the corridor was rather dark, it was also arranged in a ingenious pattern.

We found the hallways unusually dark and the bathtubs/showers difficult if not dangerous to maneuver.

Dark marble like with very low lighting - very interesting.

Only 2 small criticisms: the hallways are extremely dark, which could be problematic for someone with low vision.

Location-wise is perfect, sometimes you feel you need to be closer to Piazza San Marco

The location is right next to the Cannaregio canal which is maybe a 30-minute stroll to Piazza San Marco and Rialto.

Great for exploring Venice, however is a fair walk to the main piazza,
