but the main issues were : the access via a very small and slow elevator that you can only catch on the first floor and another problem was the bedding.

The elevator was one of the slowest and scariest I've encountered in many travels.

Request a room on the first floor if you don’t like tiny elevators!

The reception lobby is tiny and the elevator is also tiny.

Only 2 things about this hotel I feel are important to note - the elevator is on the 1st floor, so is not suitable for anyone in a wheelchair, and the bed and pillow were very firm.

A few things to def keep in mind: elevator was on 1st level (Italy counts floor 0/ground floor) so you had to walk up a few small flights to get to the elevator for the higher floors.

You do need to walk up a flight of stairs to reach the elevator, which may be an issue for some folks.

No lift from hotel lobby to first floor so be prepared to lug your bags up.

Also note it is not for anyone with mobility challenges as access to the lift is on the second floor.

You have to walk up one flight to get to the elevator, which itself may be 50+ years old and rather scary.

However, after a whole day of walking through the cobbled streets of Rome, I am not keen on having to ' climb to reach the elevator'.

You have quite a few stairs to climb to the first floor where there is a tiny lift which goes to the higher levels (only space for 2 people).

The only hassle is the lift, which does not go to the ground floor that makes it difficult when you have heavy luggage,

There is no lift from reception to L1, it starts at L1 and goes to 5

The hotel is in an old building right accross from the Pantheon, so the excellent location, with many places to eat and drink around.

The location is central and incredibly convenient (provided you want the crowds in the piazza in front of the Pantheon).

Wonderful location just across from the Pantheon.

The location is perfect, you can walk to most of the popular sites in Rome within a 20 minute walk from the hotel.

Beautifully renovated and tastefully decorated hotel in a perfect location for sightseeing by foot and finding nearby restaurants.

The location cannot be beat, we were fortunate to have a room overlooking the Pantheon, which was spectacular both day and night.

It was a wonderful stay at a very reasonable price for the location.

Has to be one of the best locations in Rome, right across the from The Pantheon and great restaurants at your doorstep.

The square it is in (Piazza della Rotonda) had a nicer atmosphere than many we had visited, with far less beggers/ Young, African males trying to force sell bracelets etc and lots of nice restaurants.

Located immediately across the Piazza della Rotonda from the Pantheon, this nicely renovated hotel has windows that open out directly onto the piazza and onto the Pantheon itself.

Highly recommended for the helpful team, good breakfast served at a restaurant across in the Piazza della Rotonda and great view.

however, a pretentious, overpriced pseudoboutique hotel of sort: the prices and the attitude are correct for a hotel with small rooms and no common spaces. Overall a positive experience due to the professional, friendly staff, the honest prices and (did I already mention it?)

The rooms are quite small and not the most modern.

The room itself is of a decent size, with room 502 having one room facing the pantheon and another small room having a sofa bed (we used this room to get ready/ store luggage to prevent the main room getting cluttered).

From the start Nimal gave me and my wife a Free Upgrade since we were visiting Rome for the first time as a part of our honeymoon and we were greeted with champagne in our room!

What stood out in this Hotel are the staff, their hospitality and professionalism.

No mention that you have to climb a flight of stairs before the elevator is available (so not accessible for those with limited mobility).

It is a small hotel with just a small reception on the bottom and you have to walk up a stairs to the first floor to reach the elevator.

The downside is that when going from the ground level to the first level you can only use the stairs.

but didn't want to stand in the long line in the heat so we watched out the window until the line dwindled down and ran down the stairs to tour it!

We literally had to hold our breath until we got up stairs.

Not for handicapped as you must climb stairs to get to your room.

After taking it once, I chose to climb the 5 flights of stairs.

Only downside I can see is that it’s not handicap friendly (a lot of stairs) and if you’re a light sleeper the city will keep you up.

The hotel is unsuitable for disabled people or anyone who has difficulty with stairs.

To get to your room, you will have to walk up a set of stairs and then catch an elevator.

Stairs to first floor and lift from there, which may be a problem for less able travellers.

but still finished at a reasonable time for sleeping

For those with accessibility issue, there is a need to climb stairs one level before you can access the elevator.

The elevator is small, so I took the stairs for everything except transporting my luggage.

LOCATION,  our room overlooked the Pantheon,  and is 20-30 mins walk to all the main attractions.

Breakfast is great & served in a restaurant just 30seconds walk away.

This is arguably a good hotel the location is really good it is quite central you can walk to most of the key locations in Rome from this hotel and the rooms are tidy cleaned every day and perfumed which is really nice.

Breakfast was across the square (a staff member walked us over).

The Colosseum was about a 20 minute walk.

Spanish Steps and Trievi fountain are a 10 minute walk.

The location affords you the ability to walk to all the major attractions.

My family and I took a nice stroll to Vatican City to view the Christmas tree lights and with cooling weather made a pleasant walk.

The hotel is centrally located (a few blocks from the Colosseum) and is really lovely.

but it is in a fantastic location, 10 minutes walk from termini station and approx 15 minutes walk to the colosseum.

Easy walking distance to all main location, Colosseum, trevi fountain & spanish steps.

We chose the Raffaello because it is close to Termini station and also the archeological sites. In truth, we walked to all the locations we visited (Colosseum, Forum, Palatine Hill, Trevi fountain, Spanish Steps, Vatican, Parthenon, etc.)

The hotel is located blocks from the Termini train station and blocks from the Colosseum.

For starters, this hotel is within walking distance of so many attractions including the Colosseum, Santa Maria Majore Church and San Piedro Nicolo.

I was able to visit the Colosseum and the Vatican city and commute using just the buses 81 and 64.

The hotel is a 5-10 minute walk from the Cavour, Republica, and Termini metro stations, and less than a 15 minute walk from the Colosseum and surrounding ruins.

My ten year old son and I had a great stay at Hotel Raffaelo is ideally located within easy walking distance from the Colosseum, the Forum, Trevi Fountain and Rome's central station.

The lift wasn’t working for the week so had to carry our luggage up to our room.

Lift doesn't work, no hot water night or in the morning.

Notes: the elevator is out of commission and, according to the front desk, will be for some time.

There were no elevators and if you have mobility issues this can be a real problem and the shower was like getting into a cubicle with no room to move.

Only downside is the lift doesn’t work so it’s a very tough climb up to 4th floor on steep stairs even for fit people😅

The only issue we had was that the elevator was not working, so walking up and down the stairs was a bit of a workout for a couple in our 70's.

The lift is way too small (3 pax can barely stand in it) and stops at intermediate levels, so you always have to climb up/down the stairs for reaching the rooms, which is quite inconvenient if you have a lot of luggage.

Negative includes: very small room, tiny elevator (1 person with luggage at most), elevator stops between floors (so, at least 9 steps to walk) and VERY small shower.

This is a boutique hotel, so there is only one small elevator and stairs are more convenient.

every time I arrive back to the hotel I have to wait 5 to 10 minutes just get on the elevator.

Only complaint would be the very small elevator that stops in between floors so one still has to either go up or down a flight of stairs to get to your room.

It's also an easy walk to the Pantheon and Trevi Fountain as well as so many other places.

We walked to the main train station, Colosseum, Trevi fountain, Forum, Pantheon, Jewish Quarter, etc. etc.

The Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps were also within walking distance and Vatican City a short metro ride away.

We walked to the Colosseum, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon - the staff on reception provide you with a map and it’s easy to find all the sights.

It is also within a walking distance from most of major touristic attractions, such as the Pantheon, Trevi and Spanish Steps.

Hotel Rafaello now has a sister hotel located near the Pantheon.

Pefect location for the Colosseum, and within 20mins walk from the Pantheon and Trevi fountain.

Don't miss the opportunity to visit the rooftop bar at Hotel Raffaello's sister hotel, Hotel del Senato, near the Pantheon.

but it was within 15-20 mins of the Colosseum, Memorial to the Unknown Soldier, the Trevi Fountain and
Pantheon.

The hotel is within walking distance of just about all the major sites you'd want to see, the colosseum is just down the road about 15 minutes walk, Spanish steps, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain are all within 30 minutes walking.

There is lots of shopping nearby, loads of restaurants, plus the Trevi fountain, the Spanish steps, the Pantheon, and of course the Coliseum, all within walking distance.

We also walked to the Colosseum, Forum, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, and the Spanish Steps.

If you are looking for something within easy walking distance of the Coliseum, Trevi Foiuntain and Pantheon that will not break your budget then I would recommend this hotel.

Walking distance to Train station and abut 15 mins walking to Trevi, Pantheon and shops.

The location of Raffaello is also good, just a 15 min walk from basically every major sights: Colosseum, Forum Romanum, Pantheon etc.

The only downside was the size of the corner shower which was really small and barely manageable.

The bathroom is also small and everything works.

but the bathroom…..we had to step up 2 steps to a small door into the very small bathroom.

However, another family member was in a different room and their bathroom was quite small

The shower takes a little getting used to because it is small

The shower was rather small and not the easiest to move around in.

We stayed here for 8 nights so a few things were frustrating:  a tiny shower that might not accommodate a person with above average weight or height, the lack of hair conditioner and Kleenex, and a satellite TV system that does not work consistently.

The room was adequate for our needs (although the shower was a little small!).

though the small showers took some getting used to.

The only minus would have to be the very small shower!

Not everything is perfect, though, the safe in the room is very small.

The elevator/“lift” to the rooms is quite small as are the rooms themselves.

The elevator is VERY small & there is only room for one person with luggage at a time.

Hotel was very outdated, the rooms were small, the bathroom shower was a nightmare, very small and dangerous  (almost fell out) with little to no water pressure.

The cleaniness
Once again, yes the room was small,

so we asked to move rooms
As its just 2 small and room was dirty.they met is with contempt.

This is a wonderful hotel a short walk from Termini station.

This hotel is located near Termini Station and lots of restaurants.

most comfortable stay in ROME near Termini station - also walk able from all major sites.
