The room was impeccable and we had the terrace suite.

The room was immaculate as was the hotel, very ideally located close to the metro and a short walk to the Spanish steps and Trevi Fountain, would gladly book again in the future.

I can’t say enough fantastic things about this gorgeous, quaint, clean, amazing boutique hotel perfectly located.

but the bed was so comfortable, the bathroom lovely, everything very clean.

Needless to say that everything was spotless and breakfast is soooo yammi.

My hotel room was impeccably clean, with a comfortable bed and spacious shower stall.

but there was an additional short flight of stairs (5-6 steps) to reach my room from the hallway.

The hotel footprint is quite small and accordingly everything inside the hotel is small from the door to the hotel to the lobby and halls and elevator and most importantly the rooms.

The doors to the hallways are made of ridiculously thick wood to keep the noise out.

We were in Room 48; took the elevator to the 5th floor, then walked down 2 short flights of stairs and hallway to our room -- similar to a room we had at Banff Spring Resort years ago!

We stayed in a deluxe double overlooking the plaza and fountain.

We recently spent 3 nights at the Barocco Hotel in rooms 42 and 44 (across the hall from each other).

However, I felt that the interior decor was dated and the corridors to the room were narrow and a little bit creepy.

We had a chance to check out the room across the hallway from us, which we would have much preferred.

What not to expect in the Barroc it is a boutique hotel small reception narrow corridors,

There were little angles and a tiny corridor to the bathroom which added to the interest and ambiance of the room.

But, newly renovated, bar the fact that the entrance is on the side of the building & not the front (although it says hotel on a old door) & the fact that the corridors might have been narrow, the renovated rooms/hotel looks amazing.

Our room was next to the entry door to the hall so Id recommend not getting that room if you want to sleep in,

however once inside these are all features that give the hotel it's feeling of warmth and make it stand out from the 'norm' - marble floors and walls, large displays of fresh flowers at intervals throughout the corridors; small bespoke stairs and only five or six guest rooms per floor make the experience unique and without doubt when returning to Rome we will stay at this hotel again.

The sound does travel in the corridors which may be due, in part, to the marble floors.

As other reviewers have mentioned the corridor flooring means you can hear people walking up and down outside the room and it was a little annoying not to have aircon available as it was winter

The Hotel should consider carpeting the hallways to minimize sound.

Fabulous location (walking distance to Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps; short taxi to the Vatican and Colosseum).

Wonderful location - easy to get on hop on/hop off bus (across the piazza), coffee shops and cafes all around the piazza, easy for taxi & scooters etc.

The location is terrific, in walking distance to many of Rome's famous sights.

It is in a great location and close to a lot of the important things people come to Rome to see.

The location is excellent and allows easy access to key sites around the city and to the Metro.

the hotel is about two blocks from the top of the Spanish Steps so the location is phenomenal!

We chose it because of its location as being central to a lot of attractions we wanted to revisit.

Great location as well, close to the Trevi fountain, Spanish steps, Four Seasons corner and other sites, as well as great stores.

The hotel is in a wonderful location - an easy walk to the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and the Pantheon.

Great location - close to a number of the key Rome attractions, close to the best shopping and there are many wonderful restaurants & bars close by.

but the AC was poor, bed sheet quality was poor and itchy, and the shower did not drain so we were taking a shower in a pool of water and had to stop before it overflowed.

The cost was less then a poor glass at home without nibbles!

Lighting was poor and of course no makeup mirror.

Would not recommend eating in the conservatory restaurants located around the corner from the hotel-very poor food and service.

Bad: The room size was disappointing, the room design was very poor.

WIFI:  Unfortunately wifi was very poor and as a business traveler this was a bit challenging -

We had a standard room which was not large and had a poor view

We both jumped on it before the poor gentleman showing us the room amenities could gasp in surprise!

Room 13 is small with poor lighting and a limited view.

Although wi-fi is free, connection is very poor and you have to keep logging in.

We had a lovely room with a bath and shower.

Rooms are fabulous, we stayed twice / once at the front end of our 14 day trip through Italy / then again at the end since we flew out of Rome both ways.

Our room was adequate, with large windows overlooking the quiet side street.

We stayed in two different rooms, both were of a high standard.

Book the terrace room with jacuzzi and sauna!

We booked a classic room which was fine for one night.

We stayed in a larger room this time that had a small outdoor patio which we loved.

but very comfortable, and we had a room overlooking the Triton Fountain.

Beautiful twin room with elegant touches.

The elevator is really small and could barely fit 2 people and 2 luggages.

It has only 1 small elevator and it takes sometimes a while till it gets to you.

There is one small elevator, appropriate for a hotel of this size and with little wait time.

Elevator was very small and air conditioning was not very cold (typical for Europe).

The elevator was also small and slow and I had to go up four flights of stairs,

Although the elevator was tiny, it was modern and quick to respond when called.

This hotel is in a old building and has been renovated to high modern standards, yet it remains quaint with narrow passageways and a small elevator.

but everywhere in Rome has a small elevator and that really doesn't hold you back.

Our room #62 was a superior located just off the tiny elevator.

Location was fantastic, close to everything and within walking distance of 10-15 min to the Spanish steps , Trevi fountain , Villa Borghese.

Extremely convenient to all the things we wanted to see by either walking or taking the metro.

Spanish steps, Colliseum and Trevi Fountain can all be reached within 20 mins walk (metro is about 5 mins too).

The location is perfect, within walking distance to Termini, and the orange and blue metro lines.

Located just 3 mins from bus stops, 5-8mins from 2 metro stations, it gave us plenty of options to getting around to all the main sites in Rome.

Just 6-7 minutes walking to Roma Termini Station and 2-3 minutes to Metro Station and Bus Stop.

They had metro tickets for the same price as at the metro station.

It's very accessible also for the hop on hop off bus which we used as a method of transport for the 3 days.

It’s situated next to the opera house & walking distance to everything ( except the Vatican which is 5 stops on the nearby metro).

Termini transport hub and metro within 5 min walk .

However, the first day the bathtub drain was broken, which required multiple calls to the front desk and delayed sleep at night, and it still wasn’t fixed when we left.

In the end we requested to be put in another room because they were unable to fix it.

Our AC was not working and they immediately sent over the maintenance crew; when it was not able to be fixed they moved us to another room without hesitation or issue.

Our room had a small problem with the bath plug which was fixed very promptly.

there are still a lot to fix in order to be more than average.

The drain in our bathtub was not working well the first day, we called about it then went out for dinner, came back and it was fixed.

It's location is excellent close to Termini Station and short ride and decent walk to the attractions.

The hotel itself was very clean, secure, in a great location, and had fantastic amenities.

It's in a great location which makes getting around Rome easy.

The location opposite the opera house was very pleasant and we found the main sights easy to walk to from the hotel.

The location is excellent next to the Opera and near, walking distance, most of the main attractions.

The hotel is located in the Opera house region of the city and it’s many restaurants and local wine bars are a pleasure to visit in the evenings.

Great location - my husband and I walked everywhere.

My only gripe was the poor selection of English channels on the TV, I would advise to take your own entertainment like an iPad or laptop to watch your films, as you’ll have no luck with the tv if you’re from the UK.

The front desk team was kind enough to get us a reservation at a restaurant close by when we were unable to secure one with our poor Italian language skills.

The only problem is that the sound isolation between floors is very poor so there is pretty constant banging during the times that people are moving about.

The scrambled eggs and fried were cold and the hot range poor.

Wifi is included and works well-enough (be prepared for poor wifi at all locations that offer wifi; Rome is just a little behind the times when it comes to internet, in general).

Even the poor guy mopping the floor by the elevators on the 5th floor.

The hotels location was excellent as we walked to Trevi Fountain, the Spanish steps and the villa Borghese.

I'm a runner and was able to plan a route to Villa Borghese park.

We walked everywhere from the hotel - fontana di trevi, piazza di spagna, collosseo, vatican, piazza navona, pantheon and villa borghese!

The location was so close to Termini, and a pleasant walk to everywhere we went to.

The hotel is located in the city center, within max 15 min walk from all important seesights, Colosseum, Fontana di Trevi, Spanish steps, you name it.

Location wise- it is less than ten minutes walk to Roma Termini and can easily get to various historical sites and restaurants by foot within 20 minutes.

but we walked to every single major monument from the restaurant in usualy 10-20 minutes maximum.

The hotel is located perfectly with walk distance to different piazzas and great resturants, absolutely recommend even if your only staying for one night.

We had jet leg, it was nice for us to take a nap for a few hours, then we walked to trevi fountain.

The hotel is just a 5 min walk to the colosseum, you just turn to your right when leaving the reception and straight down the street.

The amenities at this hotel include a rooftop restaurant for breakfast and dinner with a view of the Colosseum.

The location is nice with lots of little stores and cafes around and within easy walking distance of the colosseum and other points of interest, the a/c works amazingly well, and the housekeeping staff are great.

The location is ideal, the area is safe and quiet and also just a 5 minute walk to the Colosseum.

The hotel is in a fantastic location, between Colosseum and Caracalla, Domus aurea etc).

The location was good, only 10mins walk to Colosseum and the metro.

The rooms were perfect, staff gracious and pleasant, rates exceptional and the rooftop restaurant with a view of the Colosseum at sunset was priceless.

but beware the view over The Colosseum looks great, but can be very windy, best to sit on the other side of the roof.

This beautiful hotel is perfectly located within walking distance to the Colosseum and has a roof top restaurant that has a view of the Colosseum where we enjoyed a delicious breakfast every morning.

Breakfast is amazing, view on the Colosseum is brilliant from the 4th floor!

The breakfast was abundant and served on a beautiful terrace with a view of the Colosseum.

The location is literally next to Colosseum and the street next to it has a lot of nice restaurants and pubs.

It’s quite close to the Colosseum yeah it is also located on a quiet street.

We liked taking a walk at night around the Colosseum.

The location is ideal, you have public transport connections almost next door and it takes literally 4min walking from the front desk to the Colosseum.

Located literally a stones throw from the Colosseum and within walking distance of the Trevi Fountain.

We also had an iron and asked for it not be taken out of room by room service.

Requested an iron one morning, nobody came to bring us one.

When I asked for an iron, I was told it was against the rules in Rome.

Asking for an ironing board and iron was difficult.

but perhaps providing a laundry room with an iron or two would be a less greedy option.

To our surprise, they do not provide irons in their rooms and do not have any to lend in the hotel.
