The hotel was immaculate and very well presented.

Our room was a good size and spotlessly clean.

Pool area clean and well ordered ,pool bar good prices, location good access to the beach and village.

We had a pool view room which was a good size and immaculately clean, with plenty of storage space.

Perfect hotel for a relaxing break, restaurant meals are good with lovely clean well looked after facilities throughout the hotel.

The hotel is clean and always a good selection of fresh food available.

but local buses stopped outside the hotel to facilitate access to Costa Adeje and beyond for those not wanting to walk.

The hotel is in the northern part of Costa Adeje, not far from La Caleta and only 5 minutes drive from the TF1 motorway (and 20 minutes from the airport).

Lovely 20 min walk into Costa Adeje, 40 mins to  Las Americas and 90 mins stroll to Los Cristianos.

We prefer this location at the quieter end of Costa Adeje towards La Caleta.

however are the smallest of points and I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel, and if I ever return to Costa Adeje, this hotel will be my first choice.

The location is definitely a high end of Costa Adeje with impressive sea frontage with beautiful infinity pool area.

Looking at the hotels in Américas we were so glad we stayed in Costa Adeje at this hotel as it’s just much nicer than anything in this area and you can still go out when you want to.

Visited Riu Arecas in late August/early Sept with my wife for 11 nights:
The Hotel: Riu Arecas is an adults-only, half-board only imposing hotel on the edge of Costa Adeje close to Costa Caleta.

The hotel is towards the west end of Costa Adeje in the relatively newer location of the resort.

It is situated in Costa Adeje and is in a quiet location

In a lovely position on the edge of Costa Adeje.

Just returned from a week long stay at the riu arecas in Costa adeje and it was probably the best week of food and relaxation I've ever had.

Another great visit to the Riu Arecas in Costa Adeje.

Overall it's definitely a place we will come back to and will probably be our first choice for Costa Adeje.

Our stay at the Riu (Arecas) Hotel on the Costa Adeje, Tenerife met all our expectations.

This hotel is on the fringe of Costa Adeje rather than in the centre, where we normally stay,

On 25th Jan 2019, my wife and I visited and stayed at the Riu Arecas in Costa Adeje, Tenerife, staying for 11 nights in Room 3052.

Pools are lovely and plenty of sun beds around.

Nestor the barman at the pool bar was funny and friendly.

The staff from the reception,restaurant,the pools and chambermaids are all first class

The pool side bar is absolute rubbish about 10 tables that on cloudy day we're full, no food I didn't even see snacks, now that leads me to tell you all about the gready Germans who generally I have no problem with

There is also a separate beach club with an infinity pool

Poolside is lovely with no worries about getting a lounger and also two good sized pools to choose from

The pool was great and we never struggled to get a sun bed

We preferred the infinity pool nearer the beach, always sun loungers available and less busy than the main hotel pool, it's worth the short walk from the hotel as you are then on the promenade by the beach if you fancy a sea swim too.

There is a lovely looking infinity pool down the steps and across the road,

This is located outside of the main hotel not very good for people with disabilities as there are  seventy one steps to get to it
This area is perfect if you just want to relax with peace and quiet 
It has an infinite pool looking out over the sea there are plenty of beds you can stroll down after breakfast and still get a bed .

All the staff worked extremely hard and professioanlly and the facilities, especially the swimming pools were terrific.

My previous review 3 years ago mentioned it seemed to be a hotel that attracted smokers they were everywhere around the pool and even part of the outdoor eating area thank goodness this has changed.

Food is excellent and plenty of verity 
 Can’t wait to return in February 2024 the large swimming pools are excellent if you like to have a long serious swim.

Especially the waiters in the restaurant and pool bar by the promenade.

The hotel is situated about 300 m from the beach and has two pools situated in its beautifully expansive landscaped gardens and also has a private beach area accessed with your room keycard with a pool, toilets and changing area right next to the beach.

Pool areas were lovely and kept clean and the bar area and waiters serving at the pool loungers was a nice touch.

Waiters go round the sun beds at the main pool area offering drinks and ice creams.

The hotel was immaculate, service was first class, our room was comfortable and the pool area was sublime.

Pool- The pool area was great, and even better not having to do a sprint for beds in a morning, went down about 9am each morning and there were plenty of beds available.

We were able to extend our room for a late check out which meant more time at the pool area.

The pool area was so unbelievably peaceful making our stay very relaxing.

We were given a room on the 1st floor ( no 79 ) the room was lovely with a great view over the pool area which was a nice place to sit on an evening.

The infinity pool area was so nice and it was great that it was made to be like a beach.

The pool areas and private beach have been a godsend in the extreme heat, again all the pool and beach areas very clean and looked after and the bonus at the Arecas no fighting for sun beds plenty of sundeck and shade.

The pool areas are great with plenty of sunbeds  and the Beach  Club with the infinity pool was lovely too.

Excellent pool areas and always sunbeds, sunbeds could be doing with upgrading, not the comfiest.

very clean , great food , lots of choice  pool area is very good 2 pools around the hotel and 1 beach club infinity pool and area 2 mins walk just in front of beach  with fantastic sea view , staff are relaxed and friendly as well as helpful .

but is on the outskirts of town and its hilly in every direction, with at least 40 steps down to the sea and the infinity pool area.

the whole experience was first class, from staff, to cleanliness, pool area, sun beds, food was was brill, from breakfast to evening meals, always hot, very good choice's on offer waiting staff were absolute perfect,.

The pool areas are great with plenty of sunbeds and people coming round to ask if you want drinks.

Only disappointment was that the wine selection was quite poor considering the price

The choice of desserts in the evening was poor with very little choice.

The food on offer was a very poor choice of salad, bread or desserts and not worthy of being called “dinner”.

The only slight downside was the poor evening entertainment,

There was no welcome bottle of water which I found poor especially if you arrive late so you have to call reception and order your drinks then they deliver

In the evening it was not possible to read in the bedroom because the lighting was so poor.

but apart from that very poor location for someone who likes nightlife.

This hotel is ley down by the gym, poor, small and lack of equipment.

There was not enough variation and the quality of it was quite poor.

The furniture is poor quality chipboard with a lot of damage.

I think the staff are over stretched so the service is poor.

Most of the hot food is badly cooked or poor quality.

The evening meals were just as bad, bland, uninteresting and poor quality.

Entertainment at holiday hotels is usually pretty poor and this one was no exception -

One tiny gripe; very poor quality towels in the bathroom!

Also the toiletries are very poor , that is one bar of soap and shower gel that looks like beefed up fairy liquid and has no scent at all.

Towels: The towels in the room were of poor quality and should really be upgraded.

One thing that did let the hotel down was the vey poor quality of towels in the room.

The Spanish restaurant is also really good and worth a visit!

We did eat in the Spanish restaurant and that was excellent.

You do get a one time visit to their Spanish restaurant called Ole, which is at least table service and was ok,

The Spanish restaurant is worth a visit,it is obvious that the team put in a lot of effort to make it an enjoyable experience.

The food in the restaurant is of a high standard for buffet service and I would definitely recommend the Spanish restaurant

Great varied variety of food at the buffet and lovely Spanish restaurant too.

The Spanish Restaurant is definitely worth a visit for a bit more of an A la Carte experience .

but we took advantage of the in-house Spanish restaurant twice and the pork cheeks in particular were melt-in-the-mouth delicious.

There is a bookable Spanish restaurant, which is more intimate.

The dinner we had in the Spanish restaurant was 1st class,

But the Spanish restaurant that we visited was fantastic.

Dining was excellent B&B plenty of choice & can book the Spanish Restaurant twice a week.

Wide variety of delicious food with the opportunity to sample Spanish food in the speciality restaurant.

Food - Spanish restaurant was a nice change of pace to the buffet restaurant. The buffet food could get a little repetitive (as they normally do!)

If you have the time a visit to Ole, the in-house Spanish restaurant, is highly recommended (no extra charge).

The Spanish restaurant is definitely worth a visit too which is included in Your stay.

We ate at the Spanish restaurant one night and the pork cheeks were delicious- one of the best meals we had on our trip.

The on-site Spanish restaurant is definitely worth booking.

The staff are very helpful if you need anything.

Many of the staff are the same which gives continuity and makes each visit so much better.

All the staff in every department were very friendly and courteous, they worked hard to ensure that you have a lovely holiday.

Staff everywhere were super helpful and kind.

Reception were more than helpful in dealing with our room requests before we travelled and on arrival, the staff couldn’t have been more pleasant and friendly.

A holiday treat for my wife, staff friendly and knowledgeable went the extra mile, food excellent in quality and quantity.

Plenty choice of food and the staff really want look after you.

I must mention the staff - everyone we spoke to was polite, courteous and a credit to the hotel.

though even on days where there did seem enough staff they did not keep an eye on what needed refilling.

Are dated and could do with a revamp .so could the bathroom

located in a peaceful area with direct access to the beautiful promonade (alot of steps for those with mobility issues) good excercise for the rest of us 😊 
drinks prices very reasonable and the iced coffees were gorgeous!

The beach area still exists and it is reached by going down a large number of steps.

The Beach Club with infinity pool down a few steps at the rear of the hotel, is definitely worth a visit.

although sun loungers are basic, it is worth walking the 77 steps to the area with the infinity pool as it’s finished off with a lovely sandy beach theme.

A bit too remote for us lots steps to walkway by beach.

Location: Left at the bottom of the steps on the prom to walk to Los Christianos or right to La Caleta.

Only a few steps from the beach as well, beautiful view from any angle of the hotel, either the ocean or the gorgeous mountains!

although there were steps to get to the beach.

These pools are more accessible than having to negotiate the steps.

There are a number of steps down and up to this area.

There is a few steps (76) I think, down towards the beach area

but this never bothered us, further along from hotel there is a slope you can walk to sea front if you can’t manage the steps.

The pool is nice, close to the beach down a few flights of steps.

There are plenty of steps down to the infinity pool so be warned!

but can be visited by a walk from the hotel entrance without the steps ordeal.The sunbeds at the main pools are very plentiful and no need to creep down at 6am to reserve a spot with your towels.

Steps down to the beach club with the infinity pool and pool bar was my favourite area , always able to get a sunbed .

EXTERNAL TO THE HOTEL
There is a decent sized shop nearby, which explained why the hotel does not have one, and you can walk to the beach

Hotel is a 15 minute walk from the beach.

We took the free shuttle bus to the beach 5 mins in the bus, nice beach and few shops and restaurants.

We used the shuttle bus on the first day to the beach which was good,

Very nice stay hotel clean, staff very helpful would visit again like the bus to the beach and kids loved the aqua fitness in the swimming pool, reception staff very welcoming took our cases to our room on arrival while we went for evening meal.

And the beach is lovely - lots of cafes and restaurants to go to.

If you’d rather not walk there is a complimentary bus which takes you to and from the beach every half hour.

Overall we had a great holiday,  location is good  very close to the airport and walking to beach was possible

There is a hotel shuttle bus for the beach which handy (see attached photos for times).

It’s roughly at 10 minute walk from a great beach.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone as it has everything to offer and only a short distance from the beach and Jumbo Centre.

Free bus down to the beach was a bonus with regular pick up times to take you back.

Turn right for a couple of miles of beach and the sand dunes, be aware there is a nudist area on this beach.

The location of the hotel was perfect it was a 15 min walk from the beach and about 30 min to the sand dunes which were beautiful.

The free bus to the beach is really handy.

but there is a courtesy bus for those who want to use it, beach is a good 15min walk.

Rooms & communal areas are exceptionally clean.

Even the public toilets are always spotless a lady goes from one to the other cleaning them all day.entertainment staff work so hard and lots of acivities throughout the day  like water aerobics darts volleyball etc.

Room was clean and set up for 3, with sofa bed out.

Such a clean and friendly hotel food was delicious pool was warm plenty of sun beds staff were very happy and always smiling nothing was too much trouble drinks were great being able to help yourself beds very comfortable

The hotel is lovely and very clean, staff are attentive and welcoming.

Immaculate and well laid out junior suit, perfect for a family of four; like many junior suits it could have done with more storage

Room was of decent size, very clean with huge shower and plenty of wardrobe space for the 3 of us.

Everything is brilliant, food, clean and the staff are fabulous!

The rooms were kept amazingly clean (as was the rest of the hotel) and the food was delicious.

The staff were friendly, the hotel was perfectly clean, the rooms were great.

Booked this hotel for a family holiday for my parents and my brother.

Booked this hotel for husband's 70th birthday,  family flew with us as a surprise.

Nadine the reception manager, did a great job , relocating us to lvl 6 in the middle of the hotel 2 bedroom as booked with balcony in each room.

This hotel is absolutely unreal … food is amazing so so much choice, 
Make sure you book the restaurant for tea either reception or the app the day before !!

Then the staff on the boat Ask for tips at the end of the trip which I find so cheeky we always tip we just don’t like being asked I’m sure if you’ve booked this hotel you’ll have a lovely stay.

There was an Asian and Spanish restaurant on site which is definitely worth a booking and again the staff were exceptional throughout.

We booked through TUI and everything was so smooth.

You can also book these through the Rui app.

You can book days trips at reception or through the TUI reps in reception.

Book as soon as you arrive that’s a must !!

We booked this in February and got a really got deal.

There is a buffet, a Spanish and a asian restaurant in the hotel grounds and all food is tasty and fresh (make sure you book the Spanish and Asian well in advance at reception).

Firstly ignore any reviews that aren’t 5 star, this hotel is faultless. Me and my partner booked through TUI, we arrived at the hotel at about 11pm, where we were pleasantly surprised to be informed that the restaurant was still open for snacks (cheese, ham, bread etc.)

If your thinking about booking here I 100percent would.

On this you can book restaurants, ask questions, request late checkout while you chlll rather than heading for reception.

There are two speciality restaurants that you’ll need to book so do that when you arrive as they fill up fast.

We were offered an upgrade to a bigger room which was incredible.

We checked in and the porter took our cases to our rooms.

Up to the airport, got here 2 weeks ago after a short delay, reception very welcoming, polite, have good directions to our room, this was at 11.30pm, threw our cases in the room then went down to 24 hour bar, finally went up at 4.30
