All staff were impeccable and the breakfasts were simply stunning.

I can still taste the Americano coffee, it was so good, and the food was of highest quality, fresh, and delicious.

The breakfast is excellent with a huge variety and the roof top restaurant has a very nice atmosphere as well as food and drinks.

The rooms and beds are beautiful and comfortable, the staff friendly and accommodating, and we looked forward to the fabulous breakfast every day.

I loved the location as it was very walkable to the train station the Colosseum and many tourist attractions.

Location wise, the hotel is in a good spot, you are within a 30 minute walk of the colosseum, Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps.

The location is an easy 1 mile walk from Trevi Fountain and close to the Colosseum as well.

The hotel is centrally located with a 10 min walk to the Trevi Fountain and perhaps a 20 min walk to the Colosseum.

I can't think of one thing to improve in this 40-room boutique hotel convenient to Termini Station and just up the hill from dozens of Rome attractions.

Easy walk to Colisseum and Palantine Hill.

As you will know if you have been to Rome before there is a lot of walking involved; it can be a bit of a slog back to the hotel as it is some way up one of the many hills, so maybe use the nearby metro or your buses that stop near the central station just around the corner.

The following sites were within 15-20 minutes walking distance of the hotel, The Coloseum/Forum/Pallantine Hill,  Trevi Fountain,  The Pantheon and the The Spanish Steps.

but a 15 minute walk down the hill and you're at the Colosseum and another 5 minutes and you're right around amazing restaurants and cafes.

Great location - we walked to every attraction (Colosseum, Roman Forum, Palatine hill, Pantheon, Trevi fountain, Spanish steps, Jewish Ghetto, Trastevere) apart from Vatican City.

The location was about a 12 minute walk from the train station, 20 minutes to Colosseum/Palatine Hill/Forum, 15 minutes to Trevi Fountain, 20 minutes to Spanish Steps, 20 minutes to Pantheon and a bit further to Piazza Navona.

Hotel was closed to some restaurants that were really good .

The cocktails are the best I’ve ever tasted, Maurizo Zuddio is an absolute artist and provided excellent customer service!

A few months ago, my husband saw that Alessandro is the new food and beverage manager of the Artemide Hotel.

Honestly, the hotel restaurant had better pasta than other restaurants recommended and reasonably priced.

We did take taxi to some farther dinner reservations

Very good cheap restaurants on the walk to the Colleseum.

They have a beautiful spa and hotel roof top bar and restaurant is incredible.

Visit the rooftop bar for Mauricio’s cocktails, they’re a ‘must’ experience when visiting Rome.

The thing that makes this restaurant truly stand out is its rooftop bar which is always a wonderful way to end your day with some gelato and cocktails.

Breakfast is luxurious, and don’t miss the rooftop bar.

but the Artemis rooftop restaurant is  true gourmet cuisine, and while we ate many meals outside the hotel , all of our best dining experiences were in the roof top restaurant.

Hotel gave a voucher for a Prosecco at their Rooftop restaurant /bar which was also very nice touch.

The breakfast was amazing, our spa treatment was wonderful, and we had a delicious rooftop dinner here.

Great service, perfect location, very clean, the breakfast is fabulous, nice room and amenities, loved the convenience of the minibar being included, the spa was quite enjoyable, and your rooftop restaurant served a terrific meal.

We ate twice in the restaurant's rooftop restaurant, which was much better than average for a hotel eatery.

The hotel sent me a confirmation reminder e-mail to which I replied and asked them to make a dinner reservation for us at the rooftop restaurant, Ambrosia.

The other treat is Ambrosia Rooftop Restaurant.

We had the opportunity to have dinner and drinks on the rooftop restaurant, Ambrosia, great food and customized cocktails.

I’m not going to repeat what everyone else has mentioned, as we would be only repeating the positive messages (friendly staff, great food on the roof top, breakfast is good, very clean hotel, minibar restocked daily,  and located in a better part of Rome).

Their roof top restaurant Ambrosia was top notch.

The rooftop restaurant was a great feature too -food was very good and a perfect place for an aperitivo.

The staff are outstanding from the front desk to the rooftop restaurant.

The basic rooms are very small and don't offer much of a view beyond the building across the street.

My only criticism, and it's a tiny thing, is the washroom size in the rooms are small,

The only difference between the two rooms is that room 404 has a small narrow balcony.

While the rooms are somewhat small, the hotel decor and amenities were top quality.

The room was on the small side (we had a deluxe comfort, I think) which more than adequate.

Also worth a mention were Sebastian and Davide so helpful and accomodating .The rooms were great one small negative was that they were a tad small .

Great location, very central in Rome and close to the Colosseum, yet our room was quiet because the windows had a good seal and the aircon was efficient and quiet running.

Close to Colosseum and many street restaurants.

I picked this hotel due to it's TA reviews and its close proximity to the Colosseum.

Prime, quiet location, walking distance to the Colosseum.

We went to Rome for the first time in February 2023 and booked this Hotel essentially because it was close to the Colosseum and there was a view from the rooftop.

Highlights of our stay:

Location: The hotel is conveniently located near the Colosseum and the Historic Center.

The location is nice with lots of little stores and cafes around and within easy walking distance of the colosseum and other points of interest, the a/c works amazingly well, and the housekeeping staff are great.

This beautiful hotel is perfectly located within walking distance to the Colosseum and has a roof top restaurant that has a view of the Colosseum where we enjoyed a delicious breakfast every morning.

It’s quite close to the Colosseum yeah it is also located on a quiet street.

Located literally a stones throw from the Colosseum and within walking distance of the Trevi Fountain.

The hotel is a great venue, near the Colosseum, comfortable, quiet, clean and a fun breakfast buffet.

The hotel is in good location right next to the colosseum and near the gay street of Rome, and by gay street it means two gay bars.

Close to the Colosseum and the Forum and local restaurants.

Hotel is in a great location near The Colosseum and Roman Forum.

The only improvement would be to have some sockets next to the bed so you can charge things next to your bed

Beware of high charges from taxis back from main areas.

We accidentally broke one of the bike keys and was charged for a replacement which I feel wasn’t warranted.

but most have a card scanner so you can enter with your own card.

Even little Italian candies awaited us in the rooms at check in with a sweet card that had Halloween motifs!

Taxi rank at end of street, opposite Colosseum - confirm with driver prior to hire journey is metered, otherwise you may be vastly overcharged - witnessed this regularly!

When we got back from dinner someone at the front desk tried to tell me that we would be billed for this broken glass container.

I did think there was a lack of charging points in the room and a lack of lighting, particularly in the evening.

We contacted the hotel with more than 24 hours notice, and they still charged us a 1 night cancellation penalty, claiming the hotel required 3 DAYS NOTICE.

Travel tip: in case your phone runs out of battery, take a Hotel Business card with you so you can show return driver the address) sometimes our pronunciation of the area is lost in translation.

This seems to be only a ROME thing as other parts of Italy we could add to credit card.

I am sure that if you go to this heartless hotel they will see you just like a bill, coin, check, credit card or travel check and non like a guest who are given them the money to eat.

buttons sometimes work and sometimes don't, so I couldn't turn lights on or off as I wanted, so I'd just pull the card out and wait for them to go off on the timer.

You can only pay by credit card and the ticket covers entry to both attractions and is valid for 2 days.

When we arrived from Australia our bags did not and the hotel reception took charge of chasing the airline to get our bags for us and thankfully they arrived 24 hours later.

Hotel does not have an iron in room or available and charges for pressing clothes.

Drinks can be served up here and charged to your room for check out.

The only downside for me, and this is probably expected from a hotel of this standard, is that the hotel charges for pressing rather than allowing the use of an iron in the room.

I booked a vacation to Italy for my family through a travel site and we found an option to upgrade from their standard hotel near the Termini to this absolute gem on one of the Seven Hills of Ancient Rome.

One of the information centres for Omni, which we had booked beforehand, was a shortish walk up a hill.

The Colosseum, Forum, Paletine Hill etc are all only two or three minutes walk away.

We had a room at the back which was quiet at night and had a nice view over the rooftops to villas and trees on the hills behind.

A moderate-sized 4-storey hotel, the Capo d'Africa was located up a gentle hill only 3-blocks from the Colosseum and a bit further from the Colosseo metro station.

but a few short blocks to the Forum, Palantine Hill, and Colosseum, and close to San Clement and San Giovanni, both churches that are must sees.

Our room on the third floor was spacious yet cosy and had a lovely view across the rooftops to the hills beyond.As with the rest of the hotel it was immaculate and spotlessly clean and with two visits per day from the maid it was always a pleasure to return to in the evenings.

Surrounding the hotel restaurant on the top floor of the building is an outdoor terrace and bar area that provides a wonderful view of the neighborhood rooftops, Coliseum, Capitol Hill, St. Peter’s Basilica, and beyond.

A glance at a map of Rome will show that the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill are adjacent to the Colosseum with the Capitoline Hill at the other end of the Forum, so the hotel is extremely well situated for these attractions.

Capo D'Africa Hotel is a perfect location for a lot of the historical sites in Rome - an easy 7 min walk to the Forum & Palantine Hill area (and Colosseum metro stop)  and the interesting San Clemente church as well as a 20 min walk to the Baths of Caracalla.

but don't miss the lovely little Parco Celio at the top of the hill, full of children playing, elderly strollers, young lovers, and gorgeous trees.

There's a lot up the hill, two blocks away which sometimes has spots.

We actually walked from the Colluseum, to the Forum, to  the Capitoline Hill, to the Pantheon and were ready for lunch.

Within 5 mins are:  the colosseum, the roman forum, palantine hill, crypts/catacombs, baths.

It is walking distance to the Colliseum and Palantine Hill.

Turn left as you exit the metro station and walk along the sidewalk to the top of the hill.

5-10 minute walk to the sites of Ancient Rome; Palantine Hill, Capitaline Hill and the Colloseum.

This proved to be an excellent choice as the hotel is less than a 10 minute walk from the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, and the Forum.

We chose it because we were focusing on the ancient ruins on this trip, and the Capo d'Africa is perfectly situated for access to the Forum, Palatine, Colosseum, etc.

The Capo d'Africa is superbly situated for Ancient Roman areas of interest, the Colosseum,  Palatine Hill and Forum.

Finally,if you plan on visiting the Collosseum,the queues can be huge,especially with all the security checks now in place so what we did was buy our entrance tickets from a little booth across the road on the Palatine Hill side of the Collosseum.

The hotel is located on a quiet street near the Coliseum and Palatine Hill.

The Colosseum, Palatine Hill and Forum were all less than a 10 minute walk away.

Location: The Colosseum, Roman Forum, the Pantheon, and Palatine Hill just to mention a few were within walking distance.

The location was excellent - just a couple if blocks from the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, and several other historical sites, as well as several good restaurants.

Fantastic accommodation, great location -you can walk to the Colosseum, Roman Forum , Palatine Hill the Spanish steps , Trivi fountain etc. .

The hotel is a few blocks away from the Coliseum, Forum and Palatine Hill.

This gem of a hotel sits at the end of a quiet street within the penumbra of the Coliseum and only a brief walk from the Roman Forum, Palatine Hill, and other ancient sites, including one my favorites, the often overlooked excavations at the Basilica di San Clemente, which consists of a church built on top of a church built on top of a first century pagan temple.

Walking distance from many sights of 'old' Rome (Colosseum, Palatine Hill, River Tibor, Circus Maximus) and Train takes you everywhere else ie Vatican City - 20 mins, Spagna, - 10 mins.

The location is great for the Colosseum, forum and palatine.

Very helpful friendly staff everywhere in this hotel,.breakfast staff so helpful and greeted us like long lost friends everyday.A great location if you want to prioritise ancient roman sights,the coliseum,the Forum,Palatine ,capitole are all just 5 minutes walk.Also at least three important churches just a couple of minutes walk.We actually walked to the Vatican

Nice location just three blocks or so from the Colliseum, Palatine Hill and then the Forum.

Close to the Collosseo and local food establishments.

Nestled in a beautiful neighborhood and walking distance from fabulous restaurants, I plan to stay at Capo D'Africa Hotel Colosseo on future trips to Rome!

friendly, and helpful, the rooms are beautifully decorated (as are the public spaces), the amenities are great, the breakfast upstairs on the terrace - with views in two directions - is super, as is dinner.
