Perfectly sited for the Roman Forum and the Colosseum.

Great location, very central in Rome and close to the Colosseum, yet our room was quiet because the windows had a good seal and the aircon was efficient and quiet running.

This is a lovely hotel and really well located for the colosseum and other sights.

Wonderful small hotel a stone’s throw from the Colosseum and Forum.

but the metro is only 5 minutes away next to the colosseum.

I picked this hotel due to it's TA reviews and its close proximity to the Colosseum.

Prime, quiet location, walking distance to the Colosseum.

We went to Rome for the first time in February 2023 and booked this Hotel essentially because it was close to the Colosseum and there was a view from the rooftop.

Highlights of our stay:

Location: The hotel is conveniently located near the Colosseum and the Historic Center.

The location is nice with lots of little stores and cafes around and within easy walking distance of the colosseum and other points of interest, the a/c works amazingly well, and the housekeeping staff are great.

This beautiful hotel is perfectly located within walking distance to the Colosseum and has a roof top restaurant that has a view of the Colosseum where we enjoyed a delicious breakfast every morning.

It’s quite close to the Colosseum yeah it is also located on a quiet street.

Located literally a stones throw from the Colosseum and within walking distance of the Trevi Fountain.

The hotel is a great venue, near the Colosseum, comfortable, quiet, clean and a fun breakfast buffet.

The hotel is in good location right next to the colosseum and near the gay street of Rome, and by gay street it means two gay bars.

Close to the Colosseum and the Forum and local restaurants.

Hotel is in a great location near The Colosseum and Roman Forum.

The only improvement would be to have some sockets next to the bed so you can charge things next to your bed

Beware of high charges from taxis back from main areas.

We accidentally broke one of the bike keys and was charged for a replacement which I feel wasn’t warranted.

but most have a card scanner so you can enter with your own card.

Even little Italian candies awaited us in the rooms at check in with a sweet card that had Halloween motifs!

Taxi rank at end of street, opposite Colosseum - confirm with driver prior to hire journey is metered, otherwise you may be vastly overcharged - witnessed this regularly!

When we got back from dinner someone at the front desk tried to tell me that we would be billed for this broken glass container.

I did think there was a lack of charging points in the room and a lack of lighting, particularly in the evening.

We contacted the hotel with more than 24 hours notice, and they still charged us a 1 night cancellation penalty, claiming the hotel required 3 DAYS NOTICE.

Travel tip: in case your phone runs out of battery, take a Hotel Business card with you so you can show return driver the address) sometimes our pronunciation of the area is lost in translation.

This seems to be only a ROME thing as other parts of Italy we could add to credit card.

I am sure that if you go to this heartless hotel they will see you just like a bill, coin, check, credit card or travel check and non like a guest who are given them the money to eat.

buttons sometimes work and sometimes don't, so I couldn't turn lights on or off as I wanted, so I'd just pull the card out and wait for them to go off on the timer.

You can only pay by credit card and the ticket covers entry to both attractions and is valid for 2 days.

When we arrived from Australia our bags did not and the hotel reception took charge of chasing the airline to get our bags for us and thankfully they arrived 24 hours later.

Hotel does not have an iron in room or available and charges for pressing clothes.

Drinks can be served up here and charged to your room for check out.

The only downside for me, and this is probably expected from a hotel of this standard, is that the hotel charges for pressing rather than allowing the use of an iron in the room.

Close to the Collosseo and local food establishments.

Nestled in a beautiful neighborhood and walking distance from fabulous restaurants, I plan to stay at Capo D'Africa Hotel Colosseo on future trips to Rome!

friendly, and helpful, the rooms are beautifully decorated (as are the public spaces), the amenities are great, the breakfast upstairs on the terrace - with views in two directions - is super, as is dinner.

I had the beef cheek which was cooked to perfection.

Front desk was very helpful and we loved the location's convenience to a few lovely neighborhood restaurants and Rome attractions like the Coloseum, the Convent next door we could attend Vespers (sung BEAUTIFULLY) and/or mass, and Basilica of St Clemente.

Very close to restaurants and shops and everything you could possibly need to ensure an easy lovely trip to Rome.

A wonderful Hotel, clean rooms, good food, especially breakfast buffet, helpful staff took time to make sure we knew how and where the bus operated, and within walking distance to the Coloseum, as well as lots of great sidewalk cafes.

but our room was ready and the staff were very helpful in arranging transfers and recommending and booking a restaurant for us.

Dinner upstairs our last night produced the best fish ever, can't remember the name, plus the wait staff was fun and attentive.

The staff was professional, friendly, and accommodating and took care to make certain our stay was amazing.

Abdul at the bar was so helpful and served my family with drinks/snacks and was very hospitable.

The staff was very kind, especially Katia who gave us a lot of useful information and always found solutions to our requirements.

Reception always friendly and welcoming and happy to help with all our needs.

Really enjoyed our stay, the staff were really helpful and made an effort to make sure we were looked after.

The staff and what makes this beautiful property stand out from many others.

Staff give warm welcome and are great at getting taxis.

Firstly, the staff are welcoming and friendly.

If you needed to check in late or just prefer to have people at the front desk, this is a good place to consider.

Everyone at the hotel, from the front desk staff to the bartender, to the waitstaff and the housekeepers were friendly and professional and helped make our stay very pleasurable.

There’s a lovely rooftop breakfast dining area and a reception bar area for coffee or drinks.

The rooftop terrace is amazing with fabulous views of Rome.

There is also a lovely roof terrace to enjoy a relaxing drink.

but I did over hear guests being very happy with their meals on the rooftop terrace.

Breakfast was great with the option of the roof top terrace.

The hotel has a rooftop dining terrace from which you can see the colosseo and they made sure we had great views.

Gorgeous breakfast with plenty of choice (must try a hot chocolate) beautiful roof top terrace to enjoy some drinks after a long day.

Roof top terrace was georgous in the evening to have a drink before bed.

We had a nice prosecco on the rooftop terrace, and a tasty Negroni on the terrace downstairs.

My wife and I traveled to Italy for our honeymoon, we stayed for a week and despite the airport loosing our lugagge this hotel made feel right at home, superb service from the front desk Angelica and Massimiliano to the staff at the terrace for the breakfast.

They had a delightful terrace that we were also able to enjoy in the evenings while enjoying a glass of wine.

The location is quiet for sleeping and the roof terrace is excellent  for a relaxing breakfast in the sun.

I loved the location as it was very walkable to the train station the Colosseum and many tourist attractions.

Location wise, the hotel is in a good spot, you are within a 30 minute walk of the colosseum, Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps.

The location is an easy 1 mile walk from Trevi Fountain and close to the Colosseum as well.

Location is perfect, it’s bang in the centre of Rome – 10 minutes walk from the Termini train station – we just jumped on the train from and to the airport, 10 minute walk to the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps and Colosseum and 25 mins to Vatican City.

It was about a 15 minute walk to the Colosseum, Roman Forum, Pantheon, Spanish Steps, and Trevi fountain.

The hotel is in a brilliant location, being centrally located with the train station, colosseum, trevi fountain, della altare all within 10-15 minutes walk.

The location is convenient, walkable to Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon within 15min.

The location is perfect, walking distance to Trevi Fountain, The Colosseum, The Spanish Steps.

The location is in walking distance to many sites, Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps and the train terminal.

It is about a 20 minute walk to the Roman Forum and the Colosseum, about 15 minutes to the Pantheon and Trevi fountain and don't forget to visit the Basilica of St Maria Maggiore which is about 10 minutes away.

The hotel is centrally located with a 10 min walk to the Trevi Fountain and perhaps a 20 min walk to the Colosseum.

The rooms are immaculate and modern with exceptional free wifi and fully stocked minibar and coffee making facilities

It’s only a short walk from major tourist attractions (eg colosseum), the main train station and top notch restaurants.

The hotel's location can't be beat--just minutes from the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, and a stone's throw from the Spanish Steps and Colosseum.

From the hotel, you can easily walk to the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps and Rome Termini train station.

Fantastic location in the Via Nazionale, one of Rome's premier shopping streets and within walking distance of the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, along with Repubblica metro station a couple of minutes walk away.

Location was perfect for what we wanted to see and do with 15 minute walks to the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, and Trevi Fountain.

The cocktails are the best I’ve ever tasted, Maurizo Zuddio is an absolute artist and provided excellent customer service!

A few months ago, my husband saw that Alessandro is the new food and beverage manager of the Artemide Hotel.

Honestly, the hotel restaurant had better pasta than other restaurants recommended and reasonably priced.

but the main asset of this hotel are Alessandro and his breakfast and restaurant teams!

We did take taxi to some farther dinner reservations

It hit on all points: service, location, restaurant, art gallery

Very good cheap restaurants on the walk to the Colleseum.

Customer service across the hotel, restaurant and spa were all excellent.

especially the most fantastic signature cocktails by the in-house bartender Maurizio..  pop in to the roof top bar for your apperitivo!

A plus would be the food, the breakfast especially!

They have a beautiful spa and hotel roof top bar and restaurant is incredible.

A lot of the staff were excellent, particularly in the restaurants.

Ambrosia Restaurant is excellent, the filet with truffles is amazing.

even though booked months before, with a surprise beautiful dessert!

I can still taste the Americano coffee, it was so good, and the food was of highest quality, fresh, and delicious.

My partner and I particularly loved the roof top bar - Ambrosia!

You have to have the signature cocktails at the rooftop bar.

Bartender at the Rooftop bar is a Show all on his own!

The facilities are great, the roof top bar is one of the best in Rome and the cocktails are the best ever.

Visit the rooftop bar for Mauricio’s cocktails, they’re a ‘must’ experience when visiting Rome.

The thing that makes this restaurant truly stand out is its rooftop bar which is always a wonderful way to end your day with some gelato and cocktails.

Breakfast is luxurious, and don’t miss the rooftop bar.

The roof top bar/restaurant is lovely and the food delicious.

From the warm welcome to the delicious breakfast to the awesome rooftop bar, we had a great stay at Artemide.

The bonus of a very nice rooftop bar is very pleasant in the evenings.

Breakfasts are superb,  Roof top bar was a wonderful oasis, delicious cocktails, amazing view, again fabulous food (need to book ahead).

We had pre booked a table at the Ambrosia Roof top restaurant for Sunday night our arrival day and actual wedding anniversary.

Rooms are clean comfortable and modern with generous bathrooms for a European hotel

but the Artemis rooftop restaurant is  true gourmet cuisine, and while we ate many meals outside the hotel , all of our best dining experiences were in the roof top restaurant.

Hotel gave a voucher for a Prosecco at their Rooftop restaurant /bar which was also very nice touch.

The breakfast was amazing, our spa treatment was wonderful, and we had a delicious rooftop dinner here.

Had a fantastic dinner in the rooftop restaurant behind a lovely sunset!

Great service, perfect location, very clean, the breakfast is fabulous, nice room and amenities, loved the convenience of the minibar being included, the spa was quite enjoyable, and your rooftop restaurant served a terrific meal.

We ate twice in the restaurant's rooftop restaurant, which was much better than average for a hotel eatery.

The hotel sent me a confirmation reminder e-mail to which I replied and asked them to make a dinner reservation for us at the rooftop restaurant, Ambrosia.

The other treat is Ambrosia Rooftop Restaurant.

We had the opportunity to have dinner and drinks on the rooftop restaurant, Ambrosia, great food and customized cocktails.

I’m not going to repeat what everyone else has mentioned, as we would be only repeating the positive messages (friendly staff, great food on the roof top, breakfast is good, very clean hotel, minibar restocked daily,  and located in a better part of Rome).

Their roof top restaurant Ambrosia was top notch.

The rooftop restaurant was a great feature too -food was very good and a perfect place for an aperitivo.

The staff are outstanding from the front desk to the rooftop restaurant.

The basic rooms are very small and don't offer much of a view beyond the building across the street.

My only criticism, and it's a tiny thing, is the washroom size in the rooms are small,

Initially they booked out to a double room which was quite small with no view

The only difference between the two rooms is that room 404 has a small narrow balcony.

While the rooms are somewhat small, the hotel decor and amenities were top quality.

The room was on the small side (we had a deluxe comfort, I think) which more than adequate.

Also worth a mention were Sebastian and Davide so helpful and accomodating .The rooms were great one small negative was that they were a tad small .

We had an amazing stay at Hotel Colosseum.

I would highly recommend the Hotel Colosseum to anyone traveling to Rome!

We aim to return and thoroughly recommend  the Hotel Colosseum to friends and family.

The location was ideal for us - walking distance to the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, restaurants and shops.

Colosseum was 15 mins walk and lovely green park nearby.

Nice location in the Monti neighborhood, close to the Colosseum and Roman Forum.

The Hotel is slightly far from the center of town and - not exactly close to the Colosseum as the name implies -but excellent  Hotel— The rooftop area for drinks is magical watching the sun set over Rome

Thank you to Hotel Colosseum for giving us a lovely stay.

Situation of the hotel is great - about 15 minutes from the Colosseum and we even walked to the Vatican (via Castel St Angelo) which took about an hour in all.

This was a spacious, comfortable and clean hotel with great proximity to many attractions like excellent dining, scenic streetscapes and off course, the colosseum.

I would stay at Hotel Colosseum again and recommend this hotel.

The location of Hotel Colosseum is excellent with a 5minute walk to one the most amazing sights in Rome.

We were walking distance to Colosseum (15 min) and Trevi fountain (18 min).

This was a wonderfully quaint hotel near the Colosseum and not far walking to other sites.

Close to the Colosseum (about 15 minute walk) and other attractions are within walking distance.

The Hotel Colosseum is very close to all of the main places of interest, and just a short taxi trip to the Vatican €15 including tip.
