The room was impeccable and we had the terrace suite.

The room was immaculate as was the hotel, very ideally located close to the metro and a short walk to the Spanish steps and Trevi Fountain, would gladly book again in the future.

I can’t say enough fantastic things about this gorgeous, quaint, clean, amazing boutique hotel perfectly located.

but the bed was so comfortable, the bathroom lovely, everything very clean.

There is a lounge for afternoon drinks and the whole hotel is spotless!

They were clean, beds were very comfortable, and the employees were so kind.

We had two rooms (one suite, which I highly recommend) on the same floor which were clean, cozy and had everything we needed (robe, slippers, etc.).

Sure the Hotel Barocco is in a prime location and clean, quiet and comfortable

Needless to say that everything was spotless and breakfast is soooo yammi.

My hotel room was impeccably clean, with a comfortable bed and spacious shower stall.

but there was an additional short flight of stairs (5-6 steps) to reach my room from the hallway.

The hotel footprint is quite small and accordingly everything inside the hotel is small from the door to the hotel to the lobby and halls and elevator and most importantly the rooms.

The doors to the hallways are made of ridiculously thick wood to keep the noise out.

We were in Room 48; took the elevator to the 5th floor, then walked down 2 short flights of stairs and hallway to our room -- similar to a room we had at Banff Spring Resort years ago!

We stayed in a deluxe double overlooking the plaza and fountain.

We recently spent 3 nights at the Barocco Hotel in rooms 42 and 44 (across the hall from each other).

However, I felt that the interior decor was dated and the corridors to the room were narrow and a little bit creepy.

We had a chance to check out the room across the hallway from us, which we would have much preferred.

What not to expect in the Barroc it is a boutique hotel small reception narrow corridors,

There were little angles and a tiny corridor to the bathroom which added to the interest and ambiance of the room.

But, newly renovated, bar the fact that the entrance is on the side of the building & not the front (although it says hotel on a old door) & the fact that the corridors might have been narrow, the renovated rooms/hotel looks amazing.

Our room was next to the entry door to the hall so Id recommend not getting that room if you want to sleep in,

however once inside these are all features that give the hotel it's feeling of warmth and make it stand out from the 'norm' - marble floors and walls, large displays of fresh flowers at intervals throughout the corridors; small bespoke stairs and only five or six guest rooms per floor make the experience unique and without doubt when returning to Rome we will stay at this hotel again.

The sound does travel in the corridors which may be due, in part, to the marble floors.

As other reviewers have mentioned the corridor flooring means you can hear people walking up and down outside the room and it was a little annoying not to have aircon available as it was winter

The Hotel should consider carpeting the hallways to minimize sound.

The property is located near the Trevi Fountain and walking distance to most attractions in Rome.

Fabulous location (walking distance to Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps; short taxi to the Vatican and Colosseum).

Wonderful location - easy to get on hop on/hop off bus (across the piazza), coffee shops and cafes all around the piazza, easy for taxi & scooters etc.

The location is terrific, in walking distance to many of Rome's famous sights.

It is in a great location and close to a lot of the important things people come to Rome to see.

The location is excellent and allows easy access to key sites around the city and to the Metro.

the hotel is about two blocks from the top of the Spanish Steps so the location is phenomenal!

We chose it because of its location as being central to a lot of attractions we wanted to revisit.

Great location as well, close to the Trevi fountain, Spanish steps, Four Seasons corner and other sites, as well as great stores.

The hotel is in a wonderful location - an easy walk to the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and the Pantheon.

Great location - close to a number of the key Rome attractions, close to the best shopping and there are many wonderful restaurants & bars close by.

but the AC was poor, bed sheet quality was poor and itchy, and the shower did not drain so we were taking a shower in a pool of water and had to stop before it overflowed.

The cost was less then a poor glass at home without nibbles!

Lighting was poor and of course no makeup mirror.

Would not recommend eating in the conservatory restaurants located around the corner from the hotel-very poor food and service.

Bad: The room size was disappointing, the room design was very poor.

WIFI:  Unfortunately wifi was very poor and as a business traveler this was a bit challenging -

We had a standard room which was not large and had a poor view

We both jumped on it before the poor gentleman showing us the room amenities could gasp in surprise!

Room 13 is small with poor lighting and a limited view.

Although wi-fi is free, connection is very poor and you have to keep logging in.

We had a lovely room with a bath and shower.

Rooms are fabulous, we stayed twice / once at the front end of our 14 day trip through Italy / then again at the end since we flew out of Rome both ways.

Our room was adequate, with large windows overlooking the quiet side street.

We stayed in two different rooms, both were of a high standard.

Book the terrace room with jacuzzi and sauna!

We booked a classic room which was fine for one night.

We stayed in a larger room this time that had a small outdoor patio which we loved.

but very comfortable, and we had a room overlooking the Triton Fountain.

The elevator is really small and could barely fit 2 people and 2 luggages.

It has only 1 small elevator and it takes sometimes a while till it gets to you.

There is one small elevator, appropriate for a hotel of this size and with little wait time.

Although the elevator was tiny, it was modern and quick to respond when called.

This hotel is in a old building and has been renovated to high modern standards, yet it remains quaint with narrow passageways and a small elevator.

but everywhere in Rome has a small elevator and that really doesn't hold you back.

Our room #62 was a superior located just off the tiny elevator.

We walked to everything:  the Spanish steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Via Condotti for shopping.

The location is perfect …   a 1 :60 walk to the metro and within easy walking distance to Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, shopping on Via Condotti and numerous restaurants.

Perhaps best of all, Barocco is a short walk to the Spanish Steps and the shopping delights of Via Sistina, Via Condotti and Via Corso.

Personally, the two most important things to me about a hotel is location and cleanliness.

This little hotel has an outstanding location.

The location was excellent for sightseeing - right between the Pantheon and Piazza Navona.

It's perfectly located just a short walk from all the major attractions and great restaurants (you're only 5 minutes from the Pantheon).

Most importantly, this central location is ideal.

Located near the famous « Pantheon » , the Hotel Navona hotel is really one of the best I ever tested.

Location is perfect - we walked to everything.

The rooms are different in size, location and outfit.

The location is within a block of Piazza Navona, yet the street is less trafficked.

The hotel is conveniently located to many main attractions in Rome.

The location is the BEST part of this hotel!

room and bathroom was very big for Rome standards, next to Piazza Navona, close to Pantheon, easy walk to most sites.

I would give this decent hotel three stars if it was not for its location: close to Pza Navona, Campo dei Fiori and Pantheon, San Pietro and Foro Romano at a walking distance and busstop to other part of the city around the corner.

Walking distance to most tourist attractions like the Pantheon, Spanish steps, Piazza Navona and Trevi Fountain.

A few hundred yards from the beautiful Piazza Navona surrounded by numerous little restaurants and bars, and a two minute walk from The Pantheon.

The location is great, 2min walk from Pantheon and Piazza Navona, really in the heart of Rome.

Our room was showing its age, or maybe just the poor quality of the upgrades.

This hotel was ok nothing special, wi fi very poor, staff ok.  Breakfast nothing marvellous very little choice - tinned fruit the room is ridiculously small and should have some of the tables removed it was impossible at times to get out from the table to get food.

The wifi was poor inside the room, not good enough for face time back home.

The wifi was also very poor, only way we could get it in our room was if we stood by the door.

but the conenctivity was extremely poor, then again, you are in Rome, so get out and enjoy the city!

Was expecting a tiny, dirty room with poor service based on some of the reviews written here..but figured all hotels here would be 'small'..but no - it was perfect.

The service was generally poor at the front desk.

We were greeted by open garbage in the lower floor "lobby", scaffolding and ladders and other dangerous items, poor directions  to the 2nd floor where the registration desk is found.

Unfortunately the broom cupboard which contained the "bathroom" was very poor.

Breakfast is poor so went round the corner to a cafe for Coffee and a croissant for e3.

A very poor introduction to Roman hospitality.

If you choose to travel with heavy or unwieldy bags or you are unable to negotiate stairs without assistance, then you should not be making reservations in a budget hotel and you should not be writing unreasonable critical reviews of a property based on your poor choice.

There are also a number of michelin starred restaurants within a 5 minute walk, it really made our stay.

but set-up railroad style where you have to walk  through each room to get to the next.

From the moment I walked in, we were greeted by the wonderful staff, Michele aka "Mike".

Lots of wonderful side streets full of restaurants, and piazza navona a 2 min walk.

It was easy to walk around the whole city.

Thirty minutes walk to the colosseum and the Vatican.

The colosseum and St. Peter’s Basilica is about a 30-minute walk.

You are able to walk to nearly every single main Rome attraction.

The hotel is situated in an excellent location, a one minute walk from the Navona Piazza.

Very safe area all around hotel to walk around all hours.

The location is perfect and is a quick walk to the Patheon and Piazza Navona.

For other locations, like the Colosseum or the Vatican, it's only a 20 minute walk in either direction.

After walking Rome for three days, we were happy to come back to our very clean, modern room each night with everything we needed in our room, including air conditioning, bath toiletries, and a comfortable bed.

but the walls may be thin- I could hear people going to their room and in the morning I could hear dishes for an hour so I must have been near a kitchen/dining area.

The room safe was not attached or bolted into the wall so you could just pick it up and walk away so we were not able to use it.

I especially liked how simple the room decor was: no unnecessary patterns on drapes or bedspreads, a light silvery/grey wall treatment over the plaster walls, a grey/white-washed pine floor, tall windows with chocolate brown curtains, and a few coordinated colors on the bed, pillows, headboard and couch.

There are still pieces from long ago (e.g. pieces of walls etc.)

The other guests were not trying to be loud either and again the walls to the other rooms were solid.

but I am pretty fussy when it comes to breakfast. Although wi-fi was free it was quite slow and phone service was sporadic in the rooms (thick walls built pre-phones)

although a mirror in the bedroom, a small wardrobe and a few pictures on the bare walls would have made it more "homely".

Sitting on the toilet was a little difficult because it was in the corner of the bathroom between the wall and the shower.

Walls between rooms were somewhat thin so I heard neighbor noises more than street noises.

However, the walls were scuffed up and dirty and could use a washing with Magic Eraser.

There are scuff marks all over the walls.

The walls are very thin so you can hear your neighbours and some noise from the street.

The rooms are most definitely not sound proof and noise easily permeates from the paper thin walls.

but also internal as the walls are paper thin and you can hear everything from the rooms next to ours.

But thin walls are a small price to pay for a reasonable rate in my favorite part of Rome.

The walls were also very thin in the hotel.

However, what I found disgustingly dirty was the room's walls, light switches, telephone, and toilet flush

Where else at breakfast will I see patches of walls from the Baths of Agrippa?

Noise from other guests was a problem as the walls were so thin.

The windows are double pane and noise was not an issue for us at all.

but when window and shutters closed no street noise - this was fabulous.

There is efficienct air conditioning and you can also open the windows.

This trip I stayed in a larger room with frescos on the ceiling and a window facing the street.

3) The bathroom/shower are could benefit from a blackout curtain.

The one drawback was even though the windows are new they do let in a bit of noise

After a sleepless night with the windows open onto a very busy area, we realized the windows provide incredible sound-proofing.

He kept looking out the window and then told us the taxi arrived and off we went.

When we got to the room, there was a window that overlooked the street that kept out ZERO noise so we could hear people talking in the street below.

but the arch was 5 feet 5 inches high, and note the bathroom and bedroom are separated only by a curtain.

The bathroom had a loud fan that did nothing to reduce steam; it was purely noise pollution and should be disconnected (opening the window in the room was the only way to eliminate the steam).

Windows had shutters to block out some of the light and a street noise.

As a result, we did not leave the windows open at night

We had a large, high-ceilinged room on the third floor, overlooking the street and yes, it was noisy with the window open

Just outside the window were some constructions going on so we were woken up every morning by the construction noises.

At night there is no noise at all, as the hotel intalled two layer window to prevent outside noises.

Then in a classic case of bad customer service, the receptionist became agitated too, and told us "BUT IT'S NOT MY PERSONAL FAULT".

we were 3 couples and there is no lobby to be together, there is nobody in the building to help in case of emergency, the bathroom has no shampoo and other bathroom needs.

We didn't even know it was our room since it didn't have a room number on it and we had to drag our bags up one floor of stairs since the elevator didn't go up that high.

There is a tiny lift (fits 2) so it might be a struggle if you have a lot of bags (we only had 1 which wasn’t an issue)

This wasn’t the case unless there’s more than one annex!

There was about a 2 foot space around the perimeter of the bed, hardly any space to open a suitcase.

Keep an eye on your bags and make sure they don't get mixed up with someone else's or misplaced.
