It's quirky and has charm, character and elegance to spare.

However I believe the friendly, attentive staff more than make up for any possible drawbacks of the rather cozy public areas.

The hotel is very European with classic decor.

It was so stylish and the staff at the front desk was very helpful.

The people at the front desk and the waiters were all so nice, the room we stayed in was lovely, and the atmosphere in the restaurant for breakfast was calm and organized.

Our room was beautifully decorated with a view in Piazza Barberini!

There is one small elevator, appropriate for a hotel of this size and with little wait time.

One thing awkward about the part of the hotel where we stayed was the need to go up and down stairs to get to the elevator (4th floor).

We were in Room 48; took the elevator to the 5th floor, then walked down 2 short flights of stairs and hallway to our room -- similar to a room we had at Banff Spring Resort years ago!

The hotel has a brand-new Schindler elevator that holds 6 people.

You should request a room away from the stairs and elevator.

The elevator was broken and was only fixed as we were checking out.

The elevator was also small and slow and I had to go up four flights of stairs,

- No kettle
- Lift doesn't work properly, as it doesn't stop at level 1 and 2

There have been recent renovations to the elevators and the showers.

The only downside is that, due to its small footprint, the bar and breakfast room are not large; most of the rooms are on the small side, as well.

Our room was a bit small and lacked a full length mirror (one was provided on request),

We were supposedly given a room upgrade and our room was tiny, I dread to think what room we would have had.

The room might be a bit small similar to all other hotels in the center

Note that rooms are on  the small side - if you're travellng with large luggage, you may be challenged.

There is one key in the “traditional” form that has to be returned to the reception every time you leave your room (not the “smart card key” situation here), the breakfast area is divided in 3 small rooms, so you have to book your time slot in the reception the night before.

At 12 sq meters, I knew my room would be small and it was.

Location is great, via Vento  meets Berbarini around the corner, cool feel, 15 mins or so walk to the heart of things, there's a metro at the square and there's a lovely walk to the Spanish steps which are very close, nice walk up from the hotel brings you out at the top of the steps.

The staff was so helpful we arrived in Citavechia from our Cruise and the hotel help us arrange a private driver from the port to the hotel which was on time in a Mercedes and waiting for us with a sign, we got a great room, breakfast in the hotel is so good and the location is amazing just steps from the trevi fountain and the Spanish steps , would come over again and recommend 100%

Beautiful and elegant, this hotel is in very central location in Rome. We had a free room upgrade (thanks again!)

It was a bit noisy in our room as we were next to the lifts so could hear lift noise and people talking as they congregated near the lift.

The elevators were small and terrifying, so we opted for the stairs except when we were hauling luggage.

2) our room was situated with one side the linen room and the other side a lift so got noisy at night when guests used the lift.

The only downside was that one of the two lifts was out of action for part of the week.

It was a old style hotel that had been refurbished in to a beautiful place to stay.

I do agree with the elevator commets posted by others.

You have to take at least 2 different elevators to get to your room and then still climb 2 flights of stairs.

Depending where your room is you have to take two tiny lifts to get there.

My only disappointment ( and reason for not giving five stars) was the last evening when we found that the lift wasn’t working.

The next morning, the elevator was broken, so I had to walk down 8 flights of stairs.

If you are not in the main building, you will have to endure the tiniest elevator (fits 2 without luggage) I have ever seen.

The hotel has very small rooms, the elevator only fits two people, Service at this hotel was very cold and not so friendly.

The room we were then given was in the corner next to the lift and was so small we could only just move around the bed and had to move a chair to open the wardrobe.

you take a small elevator to get to a smaller elevator to go up to your room.

As other reviewers have said -it's two buildings joined together , you need to take an elevator to the first floor then another to any other floors above.

The elevator was also very tiny, so we took the stairs up to the 7th floor every day.

Shower is very small which I think is kinda expected in Italy.

The only negative thing this hotel has is small shower.

but adequate which we could have upgraded to a larger one if required, the bed was very comfortable, but the toilet was very small and the shower also very tight, not a lot of room to move in the toilet at all.

but the bathroom was very small with toilet facing the shower and you were literally touching the shower cubicle with your knees,also the shower cubicle was very small.

The main floor had the bathroom and a small closet.

The shower was tiny and it's round door kept falling off the rail so that was fun.

I looked at a standard room and the rooms were small with small bathrooms, depends how long your spending in your room I guess.

The shower was tiny and some people, dependant on height and size may struggle to get in, out and wash below the waist.

Minutes from the Piazza del Popolo, about 10 minutes to the Spanish steps and close to the easy to navigate metro which we took to the Vatican and Colosseum.

The hotel is in an excellent location and we found we could walk to the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and even closer the Piazza del Popolo.

Location really good close to metro stop, borgeuse gardens, Spanish steps, trevi fountain, piazzo du popolla 2 long streets full of shops including all designer shops too!

Hotel is very close to the Piazzo de Poppolo, once you cross the piazza you are about a 10/15 minute walk away from the Spanish steps and the Trevi  fountain so you don’t need to book a trip to see these.

The hotel is within easy walking distance from Popolo - a fair 40 minute walking distance from the Spanish Steps/Trevi Fountain .

Conveniently located close to the Flaminio metro station and easy walking distance to the Spanish Steps beyond Piaza del popolo.

The location was perfect for walking to the vatican or the spanish steps.

Set just footsteps from the local metro, it has easy access to the Central train station and therefore the airport and is only minutes on the metro to the Spanish Steps and from there a short walk to Trevi.

We were just a 10 minute walk to the Spanish steps.

The hotel is walking distance to the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain and there are hundreds of shops and restaurants within walking distance too.

It’s about to 10 minute walk to the Spanish steps, 15 or so to the Trevi fountain and 20 to the Vatican and the colosseum.
