The rooms were clean, well decorated and maintained.

but this is a classic continental italian style breakfast of which we can appreciate!

The hotel was delightful, stylish, immaculate and comfortable.

The room was nicely decorated, spotlessly clean and quiet.

The decor is amazing, the deluxe suite is so comfy with air con, just ask the staff at the front to lower it if you like it cold like me and it is so fresh.

Excellent location, very italian style hotel,  we enjoyed a lot, excellent service, breakfast and coffee.

Breakfast was good and plenty of choice, we ate outside during our stay.The room we had was a classic and was big enough for us

The hotel is clean and beautifully decorated and staff on the reception desk were always very friendly and made us feel very welcome.

The customer service was excellent and all the staff were lovely from the reception staff who were very helpful in giving us directions to the bar/breakfast/porter and cleaning staff who were Polite/ friendly acknowledging us with a smile.

The room was quite opulent and had a lot of flair.

but big enough for what we wanted, clean and well decorated with a nice bathroom which had a 'Warm' shower which didnt effect us as the temps were 39° so cool was good.

Flaminio is home to galleries, the Teatro Olimpico performing arts theater, and museums such as the MAXXI-National Museum of 21st Century Art and the National Etruscan Museum of Villa Giulia.

It was a old style hotel that had been refurbished in to a beautiful place to stay.

We stayed in the classic room which was small,

but are very well equipped, very clean and nicely decorated in a traditional Italian style.

Room, bathroom and lifts all tiny as others have mentioned,

rooms are small, my husband barely could fit in the shower, room was not made after returning from dinner, towels left on floor,room Keyes did not work, had to take 2 elevators to get to room.The area was great and the lobby was nice

I do agree with the elevator commets posted by others.

You have to take at least 2 different elevators to get to your room and then still climb 2 flights of stairs.

Depending where your room is you have to take two tiny lifts to get there.

My only disappointment ( and reason for not giving five stars) was the last evening when we found that the lift wasn’t working.

The next morning, the elevator was broken, so I had to walk down 8 flights of stairs.

If you are not in the main building, you will have to endure the tiniest elevator (fits 2 without luggage) I have ever seen.

The lifts are a bit of negotiation when you have several large suitcases

The hotel has very small rooms, the elevator only fits two people, Service at this hotel was very cold and not so friendly.

The room we were then given was in the corner next to the lift and was so small we could only just move around the bed and had to move a chair to open the wardrobe.

you take a small elevator to get to a smaller elevator to go up to your room.

As other reviewers have said -it's two buildings joined together , you need to take an elevator to the first floor then another to any other floors above.

The elevator was also very tiny, so we took the stairs up to the 7th floor every day.

The elevator is a little small and "creepy" especially if you are claustrophobic.

There is an issue that two buildings were put together and you need to change elevators for some of the rooms.

This hotel is set in a good location near a metro station and piazza del popolo.

The hotel is ideally situated just a minutes walk from the Piazza del Popolo so you are ideally situated close to the main areas

Hotel is located right near piazza del popolo.

Minutes from the Piazza del Popolo, about 10 minutes to the Spanish steps and close to the easy to navigate metro which we took to the Vatican and Colosseum.

A great location next to Piazza del Popolo, metro, tram and bus stops .

As the hotel is near Piazza del Popolo, it gives easy access to the main tourist sights in town.

On the doorstep of Piazza del Popolo which leads to 3 main roads of shops and restaurants.

The hotel is in an excellent location and we found we could walk to the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and even closer the Piazza del Popolo.

Booked this hotel after reading both the reivews and looking at the website..location is great very close to the gates at the Piazza del popolo.

Location excellent just outside Piazza del Popolo, within walking distance (if you like walking) of everything.

Th ehotel is just around the corner from the metro and 2 blocks from Piazza del Popolo which makes short walks to get to where you are going. All the staff were so helpful with directions and recommendations ro just for a quick chat (shout out to Fredricka!!!)

It was clean, quiet and ideally located for easy access to the city (close to Piazza del Popolo).

It is  very close to the Piazza del Popolo (watch out for the pick-pockets) and the Vatican is 20-25 minutes away.

Nice and friendlly staff, clean Hotel great location for short walk to Piazza del Popolo and other sites are within walking distance.

Stayed at the River Palace it is close to Piazza del Popolo.

Close to the Spanish steps, Borgesi Gardens and Piazza del Popolo (upmarket shops).

The hotel is situated a couple minutes walk north of Flaminio stop on the Metro A, and adjacent to Piazza del Popolo so Central tourist Rome is minutes away on foot, bus, or metro without breaking your budget.

Shower is very small which I think is kinda expected in Italy.

The only negative thing this hotel has is small shower.

but adequate which we could have upgraded to a larger one if required, the bed was very comfortable, but the toilet was very small and the shower also very tight, not a lot of room to move in the toilet at all.

but the bathroom was very small with toilet facing the shower and you were literally touching the shower cubicle with your knees,also the shower cubicle was very small.

The main floor had the bathroom and a small closet.

The shower was tiny and it's round door kept falling off the rail so that was fun.

I looked at a standard room and the rooms were small with small bathrooms, depends how long your spending in your room I guess.

The shower was tiny and some people, dependant on height and size may struggle to get in, out and wash below the waist.

The bathroom was also tiny and uncomfortable.

however i have never seen such a tiny bathroom.

but was still quite small -we knew the floor area when booking but in our case at least some of that was a sort of corridor to the (small bathroom).

Only negative is that our shower was very small, if you dropped something there wasn't enough room to bend and get it!

although a little small had all the amenities required for our short stay.

My boyfriend is 6’2 and had no problem using the supposedly ‘small’ shower cubicle so I think many of the other reviewers may be being a little bit pedantic about sizes.

The rooms and bathrooms are quite small and we had a little trouble with the air conditioning.

Major CON: I'm 5'11/6 ft tall and the bathroom was very small specifically the Shower.

I will begin with the cons - the room is tiny.

The rooms are quite small as to be expected in a city centre hotel

If there is a downside it is that the rooms are really small.

although located above a piazza I could hear no outside noise when the window was closed (black out shutters also give you a nice, dark room when your day sleeping when you arrive).

but a bit dark in the corner of the backyard and opening the window sometimes let in some kitchen odors from somewhere else.

Strangely dark at night, the apartment door is down a dark alley with no lighting, we used our cell phone flashlight

The rooms are a little small and dark compared to the other hotels we stayed at in Rome.

The room we were in was TINY and the decor, whilst flaboyant and rich, left the room a little dark.

but dark room, which made a small room seem even smaller.

The sleep quality is excellent in the hotel - beds, double glazing to keep out the noise, dark curtains.

The room was snug and rather dark due to the dark red walls/carpet/curtains, even with the chandelier and sconces on,

Our room had very dark walls, and so the room always felt dark, even with the windows open.

The rubbish bins are located nicely in the front hallway (see photo) and the apartments are poky, dark and tired.

Note - our room facing the via del Biscione was very dark with the shutters closed.

Only one part was a bit disappointing for me – our room was small and very dark.

Vaulted ceiling, walls painted a lush, dark blue, an array of vintage mirrors on the wall, two crystal chandeliers which went well with the decor.

but beautifully decorated.We were in room 304 which was rather small and dark but clean and comfortable.Good shower.

For the three in our family, the room (with three beds) was a bit cramped and also a bit dark.

It’s absolutely charming from the ivy covered building to the fabulous decor.

Our brother stayed in the romanticized, brightly colored, intentionally designed primary hotel building and it was worth visiting their room just for the decor.

but with an old world ambiance that we enjoyed.

The rooms are decorated in unique Roman style with crisp linen, comfy beds and a generous amount of pillows, air-conditioned and sound-proofed.

Also go to Castel St. Angelo right next to Vatican, it has a great art exhibit with a portion dedicated to the story of Bruno and Campo di Fiori.

The room was charming,  beautifully decorated and very clean.

The room was very comfortable, in fact, the beds were the most cozy beds that we experienced while traveling to different cities in Italy.

The hotel is so intimate and the customer service “went above and beyond”.

This is a lovely older hotel, tastefully updated, and spotless.

Room was cozy and comfortable, which significantly helped us shake off the jet leg and maximize the time in Rome.

Aside from beautiful interiors and lovely exterior, the central position made it perfect for walking to almost all the historical sites.

The hotel is very classic, clean and beautiful it is central to explore the beauty and delights  that Rome has to offer.

So clean that I found myself looking for a spot of dust anywhere, the hallways, elevator, stairways, because I just couldn’t get over it.

Slight trepidation on arrival at being allocated a room by the first floor lift (number 104)

Lift in the building was so small that it barely fits only two person or one person with 2-3 bags.

If the hotel is fully booked we take a suite in one of the annex apartments associated with the hotel (note: no elevators in these building).

The building is date back to the 1600's so there are no elevators.

Yes, our 6th floor room was small and the tiny elevator only goes as high as the 5th floor so you need to use the stairs to reach your destination.

Rooms and common spaces are small, elevators and hallways microscopic.

Booked the apartment, which was unfortunately on the top floor with no elevator.

but like most elevators there they are small and hold about 3 people.

We only were aware of signage in the elevator stating that the upper terrace would be unavailable due to the work.

Our room was right outside the elevator on the 5th floor, even with that we never heard it open or people talking, extremely quiet.

You have to walk through the square to get to the apartments, and once there note that there are not any elevators (again not a problem, just be aware).

Hotel has an elevator up to floor 5, so to get to the terrace it's just one flight of stairs.

The primary downside is the currently, the elevator does not work.

You can walk to the Castle and Vatican within 20-30mins and the same distance from the Collosseum/Roman Forum/Piazza del popolo in opposite direction.

We were able to walk everywhere including the Colosseum, Piazza del Popolo, the Villa Borghese and many, many more.

A 20-minute walk in any direction takes you to most of the major sites:  St Peter's Basilica, Piazza del Popolo, the Colosseum, Trastevere, and everything within that circle.

Rooms are small and bath/shower area is tiny.

Shower enclosure in the bathroom was so small that somehow one can fit in to take shower.

The bathroom was tiny and was missing some of the boutique touches we were expecting.

While I liked the concept of the washroom’s tiny rain shower, the execution was very poorly done.

but because of space issues, the shower was very small.

The room is so small that 2 people literally could not have their carry-on size suitcases open at the same time.

The room was quite small, and the furniture was a bit style over substance and was impractical - for instance the table the kettle was kept on had no socket nearby so we had to boil the kettle on the floor, which was not ideal!

A classic look and presentation at the Quirinale.

One of the most enjoyable moments, nights and days we spent as a family in this elegant and dignified hotel where kindness, classy treatment, clear cleanliness and the most wonderful smile on the faces of the staff.

The decor and furnishings were very charming, something we appreciated considering we were exploring one of the oldest cities in the world.

The furniture and decor is classic, yet comfortable.

From my POV, I can appreciate old decoration and ambiance.

In fact the whole hotel gives the impression of space and elegance - even if it's now a little faded, which doesn't worry us at all.

The view outside our window was horrendous,

The rooms are not too bad in size, just very noisy as there are floorboards on the floors so you hear everyone walking in hallways as well as dragging chairs in the upstairs rooms.

This means that there are occasional creaking floors and small repairs have had to be made to the edges of corners, etc.

Noise level from street and bar is awful.

You can hear your neighbors conversations.

Hi loved your hotel apart from one very large flaw my wife and I stayed on the 3rd floor in a lovely room which was completely spoiled by the almost constant vibration emanating apparently from the underground metro I reported this to the manager on the day of my checkout were apon I was told it is because the hotel is historical

I think staff need to serve coffee and tea to tables,too much movement by guests, if hot drinks if drop on arrival to table,that's a issue,as too many times to go to table and back.

You could hear conversations in the next room quite clearly, luckily our neighbours weren’t too noisy so it wasn’t an issue,

While our room faced the back for a quieter room, I could perfectly hear the conversations and even the snoring coming from both rooms next to ours- this should not be happening in a 4 star hotel.

I requested our rooms (we had 2) to be moved because of the smell and the noise,

Our room was very spacious and rather elegant with lovely old parquet - a bit noisy

but thereafter we could also hear footsteps, banging and conversations coming from surrounding rooms each evening.

Walls between rooms paper thin so you can hear conversations.

However, the room itself is not so comfortable, very hard pillow and very thin walls, we hear everything from outside, we barely got any sleep.

1) very thin walls; you can hear everything next door; so just make sure you whisper in your own room
2) not very functional coffee making machines;

2. the walls are so thin that we would be in bed and could hear the next door neighbours phone going off when they got a message and when their alarm went off.

The hotel lobby was filthy, the walls were dirty, the interior smelled musty and there was hair on toilet seat.

I felt that the furniture, walls, bathroom seemed old and a bit run down rather than very grand which is what I was imagining.

Most disappointing of all was the poorly insulated walls.

but very dated and the walls / doors were quite dirty (or in need of new paint), and there was a lingering smell of nicotine and smoke.

They were painting the walls outside our room which commenced at 7:30am.

My main complaint was no view from window, looking onto wall with air conditioners on, no daylight let in so curtains were kept closed, very depressing for 5 nights☹️Position, rest of Hotel and Breakfast was great,

The wall around the garden is shared with the opera theater, one can look to the windows wondering about Maria Callas' dressing room or a staircase passed by Pavorotti.

The hotel smelt mouldy and there was evidence of rising damp on many walls.

They should take out the walls and make two rooms into one or something.

Hotel is lovely nice and central near a metro.We have found the room walls are paper thin and you hear every thing from full in detail conversation to mobile msg tone going off.

Please note that the sockets in the walls do not accept the usual European adaptors.

The ONLY complaint I have is that the walls are VERY thing and you can hear just about everything, so bring your ear plugs.
