It will take you about 10 minutes to walk to the Colosseum and very good restaurants close by, safe area though.

We walked to the Colosseum and Trevi Fountain which were about 10-15 minutes walking as well.

The hotel is centrally located (a few blocks from the Colosseum) and is really lovely.

but it is in a fantastic location, 10 minutes walk from termini station and approx 15 minutes walk to the colosseum.

Easy walking distance to all main location, Colosseum, trevi fountain & spanish steps.

We chose the Raffaello because it is close to Termini station and also the archeological sites. In truth, we walked to all the locations we visited (Colosseum, Forum, Palatine Hill, Trevi fountain, Spanish Steps, Vatican, Parthenon, etc.)

The hotel is located blocks from the Termini train station and blocks from the Colosseum.

For starters, this hotel is within walking distance of so many attractions including the Colosseum, Santa Maria Majore Church and San Piedro Nicolo.

I was able to visit the Colosseum and the Vatican city and commute using just the buses 81 and 64.

The hotel is a 5-10 minute walk from the Cavour, Republica, and Termini metro stations, and less than a 15 minute walk from the Colosseum and surrounding ruins.

My ten year old son and I had a great stay at Hotel Raffaelo is ideally located within easy walking distance from the Colosseum, the Forum, Trevi Fountain and Rome's central station.

The lift wasn’t working for the week so had to carry our luggage up to our room.

Lift doesn't work, no hot water night or in the morning.

Notes: the elevator is out of commission and, according to the front desk, will be for some time.

There were no elevators and if you have mobility issues this can be a real problem and the shower was like getting into a cubicle with no room to move.

Only downside is the lift doesn’t work so it’s a very tough climb up to 4th floor on steep stairs even for fit people😅

The only issue we had was that the elevator was not working, so walking up and down the stairs was a bit of a workout for a couple in our 70's.

The elevator was broken and the staff was very apologetic

The next day we woke up and the lift was broken, so therefore I had 3 flights of stairs to get to reception.

The lift is way too small (3 pax can barely stand in it) and stops at intermediate levels, so you always have to climb up/down the stairs for reaching the rooms, which is quite inconvenient if you have a lot of luggage.

Negative includes: very small room, tiny elevator (1 person with luggage at most), elevator stops between floors (so, at least 9 steps to walk) and VERY small shower.

This is a boutique hotel, so there is only one small elevator and stairs are more convenient.

every time I arrive back to the hotel I have to wait 5 to 10 minutes just get on the elevator.

Only complaint would be the very small elevator that stops in between floors so one still has to either go up or down a flight of stairs to get to your room.

The only downside was the size of the corner shower which was really small and barely manageable.

The bathroom is also small and everything works.

but the bathroom…..we had to step up 2 steps to a small door into the very small bathroom.

However, another family member was in a different room and their bathroom was quite small

The shower was rather small and not the easiest to move around in.

We stayed here for 8 nights so a few things were frustrating:  a tiny shower that might not accommodate a person with above average weight or height, the lack of hair conditioner and Kleenex, and a satellite TV system that does not work consistently.

The room was adequate for our needs (although the shower was a little small!).

though the small showers took some getting used to.

The only minus would have to be the very small shower!

Not everything is perfect, though, the safe in the room is very small.

Hotel Raffaello is located in a historical building on a quiet street street with easy access to many of Rome’s main attractions, as well as the rail station.

The hotel is well positioned - 10 minutes from Termini Station and key city centre attractions with a handy mini supermarket very close by.

Termini station is a 10 minute walk the other direction.

You can walk easily to many places, and the Cavour Metro station is just three short blocks away.

We chose Rafaello because of its proximity to the Termini Station.

The term station is only a 10-minute walk away.

If you aren't into walking, it is really close to TWO metro stations on two different lines AND within walking distance to the Roma Termini train station!

The location is good for walking to the majority of places, near to 2 Metro stations on different lines as well.

The location is super close to termini station which was fab for us to get to the airport by train or bus.

While it is walkable from Termini station, it is a bit of a distance when you have luggage and such in tow.

It’s a 10-15 walk from termini train station.

but also made use of the hop on hop off buses starting from the main Termini train station which was about 10-15 minutes walk away.

10-15 minutes from main to train station (important pulling carryon luggage) and Metro.

The location was very convenient for train station and the major sights, many good small restaurants in the area, not too crowded or touristy.

I chose this hotel for the location (near the Rome Termini; main train station), price for the advertised offerings, and because of the standards required to have the Best Western brand association.

I love how close this hotel was to Termini train station.

So easy to get to from the central train station (Termini).

The shower doors did not close properly, and the only amenity in the bathroom was liquid that you were supposed to use as both shower gel and shampoo, and which left our hair like straw.

Walls between rooms are not soundproof so there might be some noise from the TV in the room next door.

Also the walls in the hotel are very thin and when the  guests next door came back every night they were very loud and we could hear also conversations they had threw the wall.

It is a three star hotel, it makes no pretention of anything else, in fact it displays the stars proudly on the door canopy.

but maybe not in 38 degree heat next time, with all the walking required

Hotel colosseum you have been fantastic, my only regret is we didn’t leave a tip as we was rushing so much in the morning that we literally walked out the door and didn’t realise until we was on the way back to the airport.

Shower door was not slotted into place properly and my partner had to fix this.

The rooms were very clean and comfortable, shower cubicle was a little bit on the small sideand very close to the sink, we were placed a towel over edge of sink so the shower door and sink didnt meet.

Bathroom was small, and it took a bit of time till we figured out how to open the shower door without banging the sink,

Also, don't expect any of the good (non-tourist) restaurants to open until at least 7:30pm and please don't go in any restaurants that have waiters begging you to enter at their front door.

Somebody knocked multiple times on my door before 9 am and at about two hours later somebody even came into my room while I was in bed!

The room we had was on 1st floor between banging and creeking doors used by cleaners from about 3am?!

The lights switches are only by the bed, none by the door.

The bathroom was so cramped that you couldn't open the shower door all the way.

Bit noisy at night, with very loud toilet flushing and doors slamming,

Again room kinda small and it took a little getting use to that one of the beds was pretty much a half step away from the bathroom door.

20 on the 2nd floor even had doors opening onto a small terrace with ivy covered trellis & a table and chairs.

Still, I did not like the idea of my room being unlocked in this manner – especially after I returned one evening and found the door unlocked even then – WHICH MEANS THAT THE DOOR TO MY ROOM HAD BEEN LEFT OPEN ALL DAY.

The only complaint came from the people next door.

Only the door of the shower didn't close that well so the bathroom was a bit flooded after a shower.

The hotel is one block from Cavour, on a quiet side street, within close walking distance to the Colosseum, Santa Maria Maggiore, Termini, St Peter ad Vinculi, Piazza Venezia, etc.

The hotel located 5 minutes from the Colosseum, 8 minutes from Piazza Venezia, 6 minutes from Termini, so if you don't have too much luggage you can just walk from termini through Via Cavour, pass Esqulinnio, and on your left you will see steps just go up the stairs and  few meters after the steps take right, you will see the hotel.

We were pleasantly surprised to find the rooftop bar and enjoyed a glass of wine while watching  an almost full moon rise over the city.

Rooftop bar was great, nice selection of drinks, including cocktails.

The room was cleaned daily and was spotless.The hotel is really central and it’s easy to access all the sights, and the rooftop bar is lovely.

Bad points are rooms quite small and walls are paper thin.

The rooms were exceptionally clean, albeit room 31 was a little small.

The room was small and did not feel like 16m2.

Room top terrace must be amazing in the long summer months.

It was nice to have a private terrace area.

We went mid October and were very pleased that the terrace was still open.

The roof top terrace was stunning at night watching the sun set.

Smashing hotel with a fantastic roof top terrace.

The roof top terrace was a big bonus with a fabulous view of Rome and it's gorgeous sunsets.

When we came back to check in we were pleasantly surprised with our own private little terrace off the back, very quiet.
