The daily breakfast was made to order along with a beautiful tiered selection of meats, cheeses, fruit and pastries brought to your table.

The bar is nice and the breakfast very good.

The hotel served breakfast every morning that is absolutely delicious.

Breakfast is good and the staff took notice of our orders and preference.

The breakfast was also top notch…The hotel is in a great location and it is very easy to get around and to see all of the main attractions.

So because our ride was waiting, we lugged the luggage up and down the stairs to the elevator ourselves.

The elevator is really small and could barely fit 2 people and 2 luggages.

While we should have heard noise from our neighbors, the street, and the elevator, not once did we hear a peep, which made the Hotel B a great break from the noise and bustle of the city.

It has only 1 small elevator and it takes sometimes a while till it gets to you.

The hotel footprint is quite small and accordingly everything inside the hotel is small from the door to the hotel to the lobby and halls and elevator and most importantly the rooms.

There is one small elevator, appropriate for a hotel of this size and with little wait time.

Elevator was very small and air conditioning was not very cold (typical for Europe).

One thing awkward about the part of the hotel where we stayed was the need to go up and down stairs to get to the elevator (4th floor).

We were in Room 48; took the elevator to the 5th floor, then walked down 2 short flights of stairs and hallway to our room -- similar to a room we had at Banff Spring Resort years ago!

The hotel has a brand-new Schindler elevator that holds 6 people.

You should request a room away from the stairs and elevator.

The elevator was broken and was only fixed as we were checking out.

The elevator was also small and slow and I had to go up four flights of stairs,

- No kettle
- Lift doesn't work properly, as it doesn't stop at level 1 and 2

There have been recent renovations to the elevators and the showers.

Hotel is centrally located in Piazza Bernini-close and easy walking to all the sights and shopping and restaurants are everywhere.

We stayed in the Light and Sight suite and the room was beautiful and so comfortable, felt like a home away from home.

It was a great location within easy walking distance to many sights and surrounded by numerous great restaurants.

The location as perfect: it was central to many of the wonderful sights of Rome, and convenient to the metro.

The hotel, located in the Piazza Barberini, is close to all the main sights including the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Borghese Gallery, Pantheon, Colosseum etc.etc.

The only downside is that, due to its small footprint, the bar and breakfast room are not large; most of the rooms are on the small side, as well.

Our room was a bit small and lacked a full length mirror (one was provided on request),

We were supposedly given a room upgrade and our room was tiny, I dread to think what room we would have had.

The room might be a bit small similar to all other hotels in the center

Note that rooms are on  the small side - if you're travellng with large luggage, you may be challenged.

There is one key in the “traditional” form that has to be returned to the reception every time you leave your room (not the “smart card key” situation here), the breakfast area is divided in 3 small rooms, so you have to book your time slot in the reception the night before.

At 12 sq meters, I knew my room would be small and it was.

Location is great, via Vento  meets Berbarini around the corner, cool feel, 15 mins or so walk to the heart of things, there's a metro at the square and there's a lovely walk to the Spanish steps which are very close, nice walk up from the hotel brings you out at the top of the steps.

The staff was so helpful we arrived in Citavechia from our Cruise and the hotel help us arrange a private driver from the port to the hotel which was on time in a Mercedes and waiting for us with a sign, we got a great room, breakfast in the hotel is so good and the location is amazing just steps from the trevi fountain and the Spanish steps , would come over again and recommend 100%

This is a great location off the Piazza Barberini within walking distance of the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps among other great sites and museums.

The hotel is a lovely boutique property close to Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps and on a nice square.

We walked to everything:  the Spanish steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Via Condotti for shopping.

Perhaps best of all, Barocco is a short walk to the Spanish Steps and the shopping delights of Via Sistina, Via Condotti and Via Corso.

Thank goodness there was an elevator and breakfast included in our stay!

I would also like to say that the front desk staff, bellhop and the breakfast staff  were extremely nice and helpful. Serjay (sp?)

The breakfast is fantastic and they are very attentive.

Centrally located, great breakfast on the morning.

I’d stayed nine years earlier and had extolled the excellence of the breakfast to my husband.

Breakfast was nice and fresh, also ask for bottles of water if you need them.

The breakfast was great and the air conditioning war a welcome relief from the very hot Rome summer.

Reception and staff were great, breakfast was very good.

He worked in the breakfast buffet and would make sure you had exactly what you wanted as quickly as possible.

Breakfast offered a nice selection of cold and hot options, and the coffee as delicious, served in a silver pot with freshly steamed milk.

The staff was very helpful and breakfast was a plus!

All staff members were impeccable, and prompt to assist with our requests. Special thanks to Messrs Suraj, Paolo and Marco  (reception) and Ms Simona (breakfast) and her colleague (forgot the name of that lady, sorry!)

The breakfast was rich and even cappucino was available,

But staff were super friendly and they even prepared take away breakfast boxes for us on our departure date at 630am!

Very hot room (at the last floor) , very small room, bad shower, ants and little bugs in the bathroom.

Our room was so small and not the cleanest.

They may want to reassess the foods offered as the tarts were barely touched and took up a lot of room in a small area.

As other reviewers have mentioned the breakfast is the weak link - very small room with limited options.

The room was very very small, I would say one of the smallest ever, it was a single room!

There were some disgusting spots on our towel.

The first room that I got was extremely small, damp, and not so clean.

Also, around the same time every evening for about 30 minutes, a smell like sewage wafted up into my 6th floor room (with my window closed).

Our original room was at the front, which was noisy and the bathroom smelled of sewage.

The entire annex where the suites are has some ventilation problem and stinks of kitchen smells.

but our room had ashtrays and smelled like smoke
-I wasn't comfortable with their Wi-Fi setup to use it (requiring either Facebook or username login to access)

but needed to keep the toilet lid closed to minimize the “smells” that emanated.

There is a pungent, stake smell constantly, reminiscent of a blocked drain or unflushed toilet.

but service was lacking - slow and did not refill items or ensure they were warm (cold scrambled eggs - yuck!).

but then disappeared and (after a twenty minute wait) when I went to the reception, the receptionist was too busy smoking at the front of the hotel to help!

If you happen to be on the 6th floor, and you dislike smoking, be careful.

One size is just the size of the bed plus a little table that I would have some difficulty to use without having some breathing difficulties.

Also; do they really have ashtrays in 4-star hotels these days?

The floors are very small with four rooms per floor which wouldn't be bad except they mix smoking and non smoking rooms on a floor.

Horrified at the disgusting way my husband and I were treated when we turned up at the hotel.

Pretty nice breakfast: no breakfast fried meats, which I think are disgusting anyway - much healthier options instead.

We came back late at night exhausted from our trip too, and we noticed on our bedsheets that there were HAIR from previous clients and it was just disgusting.

The constant stops and starts of the buses, plus the diesel fumes, are bothersome if you keep your window open.

It IS close to Trevi Fountain and The Spanish Steps along with quite a few other things nearby such as great restaurants and a wonderful gelato shop across the street.

The Spanish Steps is also a great place to hang out at night and people watch!

Hotel Stendhal is perfectly located within 10-15mins walk to all central landmarks in Rome, from the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Colosseum and Fori Imperiali, Piazza del Campidoglio, Piazza Navona, Ara Pacis, all the way to the Spanish Steps, Via Condotti and Piazza del Popolo.

The hotel is excellent and is well located with the Spanish Steps and via Condotti only minutes away.

The location is near to all the major landmarks: Spanish Steps, Via Condotti, the Pantheon and Trevi Fountain.

We like to walk around cities to get the feel of the them and made it easily to the all the sites including the Vatican by cutting across from the Spanish Steps and down the Via Condotti and across the bridge.

Close to Via Veneto, Spanish Steps, luxury shopping near Via Condotti, tourbus stops one block away.

Well the location was top for shopping at the Spanish Steps- Via COndotti  or on Via del Corso, and also near the many attractions and it was also easy to find a cab being right on the Piazza Barberini.

We found the location to be excellent - easy walking distance to the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Via Condotti, Pantheon, Piazza Navaronne etc, and only 25 minutes walk to the Vatican and about the same to the Coliseum.

We walked everywhere from the hotel and enjoyed it.

We walked from here to all attractions (Coloseum etc), except the vatican which was 12 euro in a taxi, it is walkable

Location was great - right by Metro and short walk to many main attractions.

All major attractions were min of 10 minutes walk away, max 30 minutes.
