 - Amazing location on a cute little side street just off the Roman Forum and a 5 minute walk from the Colosseum.
 - The hotel is also easily walkable to many of the tourist attractions, including a quick 5 minute walk to the Roman Forum or a 10 minute walk to the Colosseum.
 - This hotel is very close to the Roman Forum and the Colosseum.
 - The location is also ideal - well within walking distance to Colosseum, Roman Forum, Trastevere, the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, several restaurants and wine bars, and more.
 - The location is great - you are right near the Colosseum and other major attractions yet the hotel itself is a bit set back so you don't feel like you are in a tourist zone.

 - The inn is on a dead end drive (it ends with stairs and a small fountain), so there is no car traffic.
 - but being able to handle stairs is almost required for touring Rome.
 - This trip, this hotel, is not for people who are incapable of stairs (there is an elevator,
 - very do-able, unless you can't handle any stairs at all.
 - Negotiating the stairs in the night was problematic.

 - The Trevi fountain is maybe a 15 min walk, with the Spanish steps and upmarket shopping not much further.
 - The location is also ideal - well within walking distance to Colosseum, Roman Forum, Trastevere, the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, several restaurants and wine bars, and more.
 - It's literally a 5 minute walk to the roman forum, 7 minute walk to the colosseum, 10-15 minute walk to pantheon, around 15-20 minute walk from trevi fountain and 25 minute walk to the spanish steps.
 - Easy walk to the Colosseum, Trevi fountain, and Spanish steps.
 - Not only is the Forum only about 3 blocks away, the Colosseum, Palatine Hill and Trevi Fountain were all within a 5-10 minute walk.

 - And getting to the apartment, up steps and down steps and in a little lift which opens 'outside' is a bit spooky in the dark.
 - The 3 foot square elevator,
 - The hotel is very old and cannot be altered, so the elevator was a bit of a shock- its about 2.5x3 feet- just enough for bags to get in.
 -
 - Elevators were not working, rooms look nothing like what is advertised and finding it was difficult for even the local taxi drivers!

 - The hotel sent a van for us, checked us in at the main hotel across the street and provided fresh breakfast every day.
 - They also included (as part of the room fee) a bountiful breakfast daily, with fabulous and varied regional foods, as well as made to order eggs and coffee drinks as requested.
 - The breakfast was so good and the staff went out of their way to help us in every way.
 - Excellent rooms and great breakfast and evening aperitifs.
 - The breakfast spread was extensive, varied and tasty.

 - but due to the weather we didn't get to use it.
 - Unfortunately, due to on and off rainy weather, the roof top tables and chairs were wet and unusable,
 - Due to time of year the heat had been turned off,
 - Two days before we were due to fly I received an email asking if we wanted to upgrade to a 2 bedroomed apartment.
 - Firstly they let us rebook a non-refundable booking after our flight was cancelled due to snow.

 - It is within easy walking distance of other sites such as the Fountain of Trevi, the Spanish Steps, Pantheon, Palatine Hill and the Victor Emmanuel II National Monument.
 - but right next to the Roman Forum, Palatine Hill, and the Colosseum.

 - We also enjoyed aperitifs and watching the sunset on the roof top terrace.
 - We stayed in the building on the opposite side and what a great place for couples travelling together, rooms 206 and 207, huge lounge with full kitchen plus outside terrace all full of character.
 - In the evening, a buffet with Italian aperitif (which is free with the purchase of a drink), is served on the terrace.
 - The roof terrace has a fantastic view over Rome and we would have loved to have spent more time there
 - Their complimentary breakfast and happy hour in their terrace was actually really good.

 - We argued that it's not winter yet and so we asked for a fan and they looked at us like we're weird.
 - The first night our room was on main road, the room was super hot and no air con and it was way too noisy to have the window open so I didn't sleep much that night.
 - The major issues were that the room was hot and we could not cool it down even when turning on air conditioning.
 - Air conditioning in room was really noisy, and we found empty plastic bottles in the wardrobe, so this hadn't been checked.

 - An official Taxi to the Trevi fountain from the hotel was for example 8 euro in an official car.

 - Two very small old style elevators are helpful if you’re on the upper floors.
 - The lift was small and would struggle to carry many people, we often had to wait for the next one.

 - Mistake: it was located down in the bowels of the building with no view - and accessed by taking lift to second floor, walking down corridor then taking another lift down to the first floor.
