Bedroom and bathroom were very nice and comfortable.

Rooms were beautifully maintained and were large by European standards - even had two luggage racks in the room.

Everything about it is perfect: the staff, the large, nicely designed rooms, the huge bathroom, the breakfast and of course - the location.

The bathroom was large and nice, and the shower had plenty of water pressure.

but when we returned to the room AFTER dinner, they made the bed again, closed the drapes, etc.

The restaurant we wanted to make reservations at was closed for the holiday season.

but you don’t hear anything with the windows closed.

The windows when closed completely blocked out any noise.

but by the time we returned each day, it was closed.

The shower doors opened on a corner, which caused some leakage if the doors were not tightly closed.

The room curtains can be closed to block out all sunlight.

but if you closed the windows we couldn't hear a thing.

but we found out Friday night that they were going to be closed for two days (holiday weekend).

but once the window was closed up - it was like a vault.

(Since we were there in winter, with the windows mostly closed, crowd noise was not an issue. In warmer weather, guests might want to consider requesting a room either on a higher floor or away from this main street.)

The bar could have stayed open a bit longer in the evening (bottles were cleared from shelves at 22.45 and bar closed at 23.00.

Other than that, it is nice that the street is closed off to traffic letting pedestrians stroll.

but don't worry,  since the street is closed to cars it is quiet.

The little noise outside didn't bother us, we had airconditioning and we closed the windows.

Our second story window ("first floor" above the lobby) opened onto the pedestrian street, and while there was plenty of activity outside, when we closed the window we were not  bothered by noise.

However the clever soundproofing, the walls have fabric rather than wallpaper as well as thick glazing, meant that once the window was closed hardly any street sound penetrated.

but when it's closed you could hear a pin drop!

Have a good alarm clock because when the curtains are closed absolutely no light gets in to wake you up earlier than you want!

Don't be put off by the central location- even in the height of the summer Season and with rooms over the Main Street we could not hear the outside noise when the windows were closed.

My wife and I stayed here for 6 nights from 16 Dec 2023, stayed in a comfort room with breakfast - a stay we keep reminding ourselves of, it was that nice!

Rooms were very clean, and kept that way everyday by the housekeeping staff who also kept the complimentary minibar well stocked.

The property is small just over 50 rooms.

The rooms were a little small so fitting two large suitcases would make you feel a little cramped.

The staff was outstanding with help with all the details of arranging transportation to a Villa wedding venue.

Happy hour and the honesty bar were lovely touches.

Very safe and walkable It is also in a vibrant neighborhood with bars and restaurants that are just around the corner.

The hotel has an extremely generous mini bar policy and also offers a fantastic happy hour every evening with snacks.

The room was very spacious and comfortable with a large balcony and free mini bar.

In addition, the mini bar in your room is also complimentary with coke and beer.

On arrival, they showed us where to park our car and, on departure, they gave us complimentary large bars of soap.

The breakfast has good choices and they even do a happy hour every day (and if you miss that there is an honesty bar).

Also the bar is open all night and you can sit late at night still outside in a secure area.

The happy hour is out of this world and amenities fabulous!

It is so charming with an extremely lovely staff, fantastic amenities (filtered water to refill water bottles, anytime coffee/tea, happy hour wine, and an incredible breakfast), and lovely rooms!

The bathroom is impeccable, with an excellent shower, window, and ample space.

The bathroom is gorgeously decorated with Tuscan painted tile and was the perfect size.

Shower is good pressure and supplied products are high quality.

Every time I use the soap, it takes me back to Florence and Hotel David‼️

So many amenities including a hearty complimentary breakfast and happy hour, self service coffee, and 3 free drinks a day including beer.

I think the desk is staffed 24/7,   which is not the case at most small hotels.

Three suitcase holders (and not just one)!! Tick.

but there was plenty of room for our suitcases and clothes.

Hotel David should be a case study for all those!!

The lobby area has lots of books and games and a small "business center" in case you didn't bring your own computer.

The chairs on the balcony had blankets on them in case you got cold sitting on the balcony.

I made mistake of trusting my Google maps and it was difficult to negotiate through tourists with a big case.

If you travel by car and don’t want to worry about the painful (and costly in case of fine) ZTL (limited traffic zone)

A rack full of umbrellas by the door in case of rain and the nicest location.

We knew we had to move for the last night, room 14, first floor too, slightly smaller, equally good bathroom, cases and everything moved for us.

We had a balcony with roll up blankets in case we got cold.

Loud voices and doors opening & closing plus suitcases rolling all around.

Parking is limited so car keys have to be left at the reception in case they need to shuffle the cars around.

then gave us "extra tickets" in case we didn't get back in time.

We are almost reluctant to write this review in case we cannot manage to secure a reservation in the future.

In case this is useful information to anyone - the hair dryers provided are fabulously powerful - no need to take your own!

When we left they bought the car round to the front and loaded the cases.

As I was digging in my bag for it she came across it and said oh ok you paid.

The triple room where we stayed, in addition to being spacious, is beautifully decorated and brings that cozy feeling of a home away from home.

We loved all of the personal touches and art throughout the property.

The daily happy hour where food and drinks are provided is a wonderful opportunity to meet other guests at the hotel and enjoy a few hours relaxation in a lovely home style environment.

This cozy hotel located just outside of the  of center of everything in is a perfect, affordable and amazing place for anyone wanting to enjoy their time in Florence.

The room we booked was very comfortable and spotless with antique furnishings.

The hotel exuded the charm and sweetness of Florence and you could imagine why Michelangelo loved Florence.

The hotel is clean and classic and has just the right amount of whimsy to keep things fun and unpretentious.

The hotel has the perfect blend of historical and modern amenities, including bright, fresh bathrooms.

While that is convenient, the many "extras" of the Hotel David and the overall delightfulness of it more than makes up for its location which most certainly does have its charms.

Like many Italian hotels you will have to walk up several flights of steps.MANY nice places to eat just out the door.

although there is a number of good meal choices within 5 min of hotel .

Several good restaurants and the team at David  give good recommendations.

It has its own free parking, the breakfast is delicious and complete, and they even provide a sort of brunch at the end of the day, equally good.

This hotel will go the extra mile for you - free cold drinks including beer and hot drinks available 24/7 with snacks.

Every day for the week we stayed at Hotel David they made sure we enjoyed their great breakfast to start the day and then their "happy hour" with delicious snacks and wine in the early evening before we went out for dinner.

Free drinks in the day, happy hour (free wine and food), and a decent breakfast.

Lovely restaurants nearby and a short walk to Piazza Michelangelo for the incredible and iconic views of beautiful Firenze!

Several traditional restaurants are also close to hotel.

The front desk could not be more helpful in making dinner reservations.

The breakfast was so nice with plenty of fresh food and fruit available and the breakfast staff couldn't have been more helpful; always keeping the breakfast area clean and the dishes full.

The staff is extremely helpful with restaurant recommendations, directions and sold us bus tickets which made things very convenient visiting Florence.

The happy hour is incredible, and if it hadn't been for some very hungry mosquitos we would have stayed and enjoyed the food and drinks longer.

He made a gluten free pizza for my wife, she has celiac disease, for happy hour.

We had troubles with a reservation one night and ordered in and enjoyed our dinner in the front garden - we didn’t have a nicer setting for our meal in our 10 days in Italy.

I am gluten free & they had gluten free bread & a toaster to use, a huge spread of delicious breakfast food.

Yes, it is outside the city center - that means you are closer to more authentic, well, less touristy, restaurants which were walkable from the Hotel David.

It’s the first time we went to a hotel that it felt like home, from the check in, it went very smooth, no hassles, we were able to drop off our luggage, offered us coffee and drinks upon arrival, gave us some directions to where we are headed, free parking and a happy hour with pizza and some charcuteries not just drinks.

U can also take the bus ( they sell biglieti at the hotel so u wont have to look for a tabaccheria to buy them)
Or you can take a taxi - bottom line is: it is really easy and fast to get to all attractions

We liked the fact that the hotel is not right in the city centre, it is only a 25 minute slow walk to the Ponte Vecchio.

We got a very slow start our first morning, returning to our room after breakfast and not getting out until after 2pm.

really well located for the Pitti Palace and only a slow 20 min walk to the center along the river.

Our flight was delayed by 2 hours and the car rental was slow

I am slow to put up poor reviews (I have the terrible review of the Gran Paradiso Hotel I wrote in mind)

but the staff make up for it and so do the facilities.

Very close to most visited sites.Very friendly staff.

The staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough to help.

Finally, I cannot fail to highlight the friendliness and attention provided by the entire hotel team. Top-notch!!
