 - We also enjoyed aperitifs and watching the sunset on the roof top terrace.
 - We stayed in the building on the opposite side and what a great place for couples travelling together, rooms 206 and 207, huge lounge with full kitchen plus outside terrace all full of character.
 - In the evening, a buffet with Italian aperitif (which is free with the purchase of a drink), is served on the terrace.

 - Located in Piazza Barberini Hotel Barocco is just steps from the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, and all of Rome’s most iconic landmarks.
 - but I would not advise it because the Coliseum grounds are huge and the steps in the Coliseum will kill your legs for a walk back so do as the hotel suggests.
 - This hotel is also in a great location, a couple of steps away from Osteria restaurant (make reservations in advance they had to turn away a lot of people while I was eating there), and in a safe area.

 - As for the hotel, the rooms are very nice and modern with everything you need.
 - The Liberty boutique hotel is a beautiful modern and comfortable hotel.
 - When you head up the stairs inside you are transported into their modern, clean, and spacious hotel.
 - The room was quaint, stylish, modern and had all the necessary comforts.

 - Also, be prepared to pay in cash a room tax that we hadn't known about at the time we reserved
 - It's also worth noting that the room tax due on departure must be paid in cash which I don't think is uncommon in Rome
 - The hotel has no lobby to sit around, no bar, no Restaurant, breakfast in -1 with below average quality; so the price you pay is only for the room, which I‘m not sure if then it can even be called a 4 star.
 - The receptionist checking us in mentioned the mini-bar in the room and the cost of some of the drinks,
 - though the location is good, I don't think the price paid for the room was worth it.

 - In normal times there is a dedicated shuttle from the hotel.
 - Plenty transport options, taxis on site, bus outside, hotel shuttles.
 - It was only 15 euros to the coliseum and we used the hotel shuttle to the Vatican which was only 10 euros for a family of four.
 - Note: The hotel has a shuttle to St. Peter's and the historic center, and there's a bus stop just out front, as well as a metro stop within easy walking distance.
 - The hotel also had shuttle service to and from the airport.

 - Take the metro for Anagnina, on this line you can get off at Spagna for the Spanish steps, then you can pretty much walk around all the other attractions quite easily.
 - but most speak English just fine and understand Spanish well.
 - Well off the beaten track from the Vatican, Spanish Steps, etc.
 - Metro then about 10 -12 minutes to the Spanish Steps.

 - but because of the cold weather it’s closed.
 - Presented with a bag of freezing cold toast each morning.
 - My only slight criticism would be that the pool was cold
 - but a little cold, a bit out the way so taxis were needed, food from snack bar was over priced and not too great but overall had a good time.
 - but it was cold and unfriendly atmosphere in the dining room (due to the face mask, baskets on the table and only small choice of food in limited quantity - for example there is no fresh bread, we asked 3 times for it, but only got 2 small buns with ham).
