Helpful features include self service laundry (about ten euros to wash and dry good sized load) and the vending machines dispensing everything from toothpaste to Moet.

Nice hotel, decent sized clean rooms, helpful staff in reception clean small well cleaned bathrooms and a wonderful buffet breakfast served every morning with variety of food and drink options along with washer dryer facilities inside hotel, vending machines for water , sodas and other items made our stay very pleasing and relaxing right at the heart of Rome!

Secondly the rooms, a good size with a large bathroom.

As two friends traveling together, we appreciated the solid bathroom door, which seems to be disappearing from European hotels.

The amenities - a great breakfast buffet, a convenient laundromat, a rooftop restaurant and location  near Roma Termini and Republicca Metro.

Very comfy bed and bedding, and a lovely en-suite with great shower.

Rooms were very clean, roomy including the bathroom & more Importantly, very, very comfortable bed.

The rooms were modern and nice (and have a bidet!).

but it is walking distance to piazza venezia which is usually considered the centre of Rome and which is within sight of the forum/colosseo and at the end of the shopping street (corso) and the edge of the historical centre.

The only negative was that this shower was really small.

The shower is tiny; it was impossible not to bang my elbows on the sides while showering.

The mattress is on the firm side and the shower is small.

Minor points taken away for the small shower and breakfast not being included.

The rooms are small which is common for lots of European hotels, so you may be tripping over your luggage if you have a lot.

Though our room is small, the design provides for many areas for storage--we were able to store our large suitcases under the bed.

While the rooms are small, they have all the amenities and hopefully you're not spending your vacation in the room.

The fitness centre is small and very little room for stretching.

Our room for 3 people was BIG - a real find in a city of small rooms - and had enough storage to accomodate 3 decent suitcases and accessories.

Along the corridor from our room there was a small room with two self service machines; one had sandwiches, crisps, chocolates, pop and beer and the other had razors, tissues, toothpaste etc for those late night munchies/emergencies.

Our room was spacious with high ceilings and the bathrooms are fully renovated, very clean.

Very comfortable bed, beautiful bathroom and good storage.

Hotel Quirinale has such a great location and combines the lovely old Italian character with modern amenities!

Our room and bathroom for 3 adults was very spacious.

The location is walking distance from many of the attractions, Trevi fountain, Baths, Spanish, Steps Forum and Colluseum to name a few.

The floor of the bathroom has many cracks.

Our room (434) has modern bathroom, 12' ceiling and lovely paneling.

The bathroom was a good size with a full bathtub.

The bathrooms are large, very well appointed,  and have endless hot water.

Pros: 
1) short walking from Repubblica Metro station, which means you are well connected to most parts of Rome
2) good selection of food for breakfast, and choices of seating (in the dining room, veranda, garden, etc)
3) good hot water for shower
4) rooms facing the centre courtyard is very quiet; no traffic noise at all.

Good location (10 min walking to Piazza Venezia), our room was very big and confortable and the breakfast buffet was incredible.

This hotel is near railway station Termini an near to monumental zone of "fori romani" (and piazza Venezia, Colosseo, via Veneto, FOntana di trevi: all far few minutes of walk).

If you would like to explore Piazza Venezia, Trevi fountain etc, it is also at walking distance.

Finally, the location is very convenient, very close to Metro, bus and Taxi, and 10-15 minutes walk to piazza Venezia or piazza di Spagna.

Everything was just great: central location - Spanish stairs about 1 km away, as well the Fontana di Trevi, Pantheon Piazza Navona, Piazza Venezia etc.

15 minute walk to Piazza Venezia/Colosseum/Forum/Palatine, steps from Piazza della Repubblica, 5 minute walk from the main train terminal and the Hop On/Hop Off tour bus terminals, with a McDonald's across the street, for those who need it!

Located on Via Nazionale, a street that cuts straight away from the piazza in front of the train station down to the Piazza Venezia and that massive Mussolini-era monument abutting the Roman Forum, the hotel is ideally situated for walking.

A lovely old hotel well located (walking distance to Colosseum,  Piazza Venezia, the Roman Forum and much else).

The hotel is in Via Nazionale, which runs from the Piazza Repubblica right down to the main tourist spots around Piazza Venezia.

The hotel is in a perfect location to explore the sights- a 15 minute walk will take you to the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Venezia and the Colloseum.

In the first flush of Italy's unification, in the late-19th century, the Via Nazionale was barged through the ancient city to give it a new broadway — and a straight shot between the train station and the Piazza Venezia. The hotel itself is a grand and un-renovated (yes!)

The view outside our window was horrendous,

The rooms are not too bad in size, just very noisy as there are floorboards on the floors so you hear everyone walking in hallways as well as dragging chairs in the upstairs rooms.

This means that there are occasional creaking floors and small repairs have had to be made to the edges of corners, etc.

Noise level from street and bar is awful.

You can hear your neighbors conversations.

Hi loved your hotel apart from one very large flaw my wife and I stayed on the 3rd floor in a lovely room which was completely spoiled by the almost constant vibration emanating apparently from the underground metro I reported this to the manager on the day of my checkout were apon I was told it is because the hotel is historical

I think staff need to serve coffee and tea to tables,too much movement by guests, if hot drinks if drop on arrival to table,that's a issue,as too many times to go to table and back.

You could hear conversations in the next room quite clearly, luckily our neighbours weren’t too noisy so it wasn’t an issue,

While our room faced the back for a quieter room, I could perfectly hear the conversations and even the snoring coming from both rooms next to ours- this should not be happening in a 4 star hotel.

I requested our rooms (we had 2) to be moved because of the smell and the noise,

Our room was very spacious and rather elegant with lovely old parquet - a bit noisy

but thereafter we could also hear footsteps, banging and conversations coming from surrounding rooms each evening.

However, the room itself is not so comfortable, very hard pillow and very thin walls, we hear everything from outside, we barely got any sleep.

2. the walls are so thin that we would be in bed and could hear the next door neighbours phone going off when they got a message and when their alarm went off.

The hotel lobby was filthy, the walls were dirty, the interior smelled musty and there was hair on toilet seat.

I felt that the furniture, walls, bathroom seemed old and a bit run down rather than very grand which is what I was imagining.

Most disappointing of all was the poorly insulated walls.

but very dated and the walls / doors were quite dirty (or in need of new paint), and there was a lingering smell of nicotine and smoke.

They were painting the walls outside our room which commenced at 7:30am.

My main complaint was no view from window, looking onto wall with air conditioners on, no daylight let in so curtains were kept closed, very depressing for 5 nights☹️Position, rest of Hotel and Breakfast was great,

The wall around the garden is shared with the opera theater, one can look to the windows wondering about Maria Callas' dressing room or a staircase passed by Pavorotti.

The hotel smelt mouldy and there was evidence of rising damp on many walls.

They should take out the walls and make two rooms into one or something.

Hotel is lovely nice and central near a metro.We have found the room walls are paper thin and you hear every thing from full in detail conversation to mobile msg tone going off.

Please note that the sockets in the walls do not accept the usual European adaptors.

The ONLY complaint I have is that the walls are VERY thing and you can hear just about everything, so bring your ear plugs.

Nothing was an issue, we had a leaky shower and they fixed this for us very promptly and no problem since.

The bathroom was marble with modern cool looking sink and fixtures.

Traditional decor, comfortable large bed, working air con. Adequate bathroom (although for some reason there wasn’t ever any hot water between 2 & 4pm which is when we came back to shower having spent the whole morning in the hot sun walking for miles!)

Our room, one of the terrace suites, had a brand new bathroom that is beautifully redone.

While the rooms were spacious and well-furnished, the bathroom was too cramped.

The Hotel Raffaello was a sweet surprise of outstanding accomodations, amenities and staff.

Double shower head - toiletries provided and a hairdryer in the bathroom beside the mirror.

We arrived at the hotel at 13:30 and our room was ready 
We were in room 212 and the room was lovely and clean, plenty of wardrobe space, a king sized bed which was very comfy and a good sized bathroom
No tea/coffee making facilities in the room

Our room was on the first floor (American second floor), good size, nice bathroom with tub and handheld shower, very clean, a king size, very comfortable bed, and good lighting.

The lift wasn’t working for the week so had to carry our luggage up to our room.

Lift doesn't work, no hot water night or in the morning.

Notes: the elevator is out of commission and, according to the front desk, will be for some time.

There were no elevators and if you have mobility issues this can be a real problem and the shower was like getting into a cubicle with no room to move.

Only downside is the lift doesn’t work so it’s a very tough climb up to 4th floor on steep stairs even for fit people😅

The only issue we had was that the elevator was not working, so walking up and down the stairs was a bit of a workout for a couple in our 70's.

The elevator was broken and the staff was very apologetic

Lift was broken, staff were unhelpful/rude.

The next day we woke up and the lift was broken, so therefore I had 3 flights of stairs to get to reception.

The lift is way too small (3 pax can barely stand in it) and stops at intermediate levels, so you always have to climb up/down the stairs for reaching the rooms, which is quite inconvenient if you have a lot of luggage.

Negative includes: very small room, tiny elevator (1 person with luggage at most), elevator stops between floors (so, at least 9 steps to walk) and VERY small shower.

This is a boutique hotel, so there is only one small elevator and stairs are more convenient.

every time I arrive back to the hotel I have to wait 5 to 10 minutes just get on the elevator.

Only complaint would be the very small elevator that stops in between floors so one still has to either go up or down a flight of stairs to get to your room.

The only downside was the size of the corner shower which was really small and barely manageable.

The bathroom is also small and everything works.

but the bathroom…..we had to step up 2 steps to a small door into the very small bathroom.

However, another family member was in a different room and their bathroom was quite small

We stayed here for 8 nights so a few things were frustrating:  a tiny shower that might not accommodate a person with above average weight or height, the lack of hair conditioner and Kleenex, and a satellite TV system that does not work consistently.

The elevator/“lift” to the rooms is quite small as are the rooms themselves.

The nicely stocked fridge, temperature of the room, 10 foot ceilings, lovely bathroom, and sheer beauty of the room  truly exceeded our expectations!

friendly, and helpful, the rooms are beautifully decorated (as are the public spaces), the amenities are great, the breakfast upstairs on the terrace - with views in two directions - is super, as is dinner.

That is one of the things that I look for--the carpets were beautiful and the bathroom was meticulous.

The only improvement would be to have some sockets next to the bed so you can charge things next to your bed

Beware of high charges from taxis back from main areas.

We accidentally broke one of the bike keys and was charged for a replacement which I feel wasn’t warranted.

but most have a card scanner so you can enter with your own card.

Even little Italian candies awaited us in the rooms at check in with a sweet card that had Halloween motifs!

Taxi rank at end of street, opposite Colosseum - confirm with driver prior to hire journey is metered, otherwise you may be vastly overcharged - witnessed this regularly!

When we got back from dinner someone at the front desk tried to tell me that we would be billed for this broken glass container.

I did think there was a lack of charging points in the room and a lack of lighting, particularly in the evening.

We contacted the hotel with more than 24 hours notice, and they still charged us a 1 night cancellation penalty, claiming the hotel required 3 DAYS NOTICE.

Travel tip: in case your phone runs out of battery, take a Hotel Business card with you so you can show return driver the address) sometimes our pronunciation of the area is lost in translation.

This seems to be only a ROME thing as other parts of Italy we could add to credit card.

I am sure that if you go to this heartless hotel they will see you just like a bill, coin, check, credit card or travel check and non like a guest who are given them the money to eat.

buttons sometimes work and sometimes don't, so I couldn't turn lights on or off as I wanted, so I'd just pull the card out and wait for them to go off on the timer.

You can only pay by credit card and the ticket covers entry to both attractions and is valid for 2 days.

When we arrived from Australia our bags did not and the hotel reception took charge of chasing the airline to get our bags for us and thankfully they arrived 24 hours later.

Hotel does not have an iron in room or available and charges for pressing clothes.

Drinks can be served up here and charged to your room for check out.

The only downside for me, and this is probably expected from a hotel of this standard, is that the hotel charges for pressing rather than allowing the use of an iron in the room.

This is a fantastic place that is a short walking distance to the Colosseo and Via dei Fori Imperiali, which leads you to Piazza Venezia, etc.

The location - near the Colosseum and metro 'Colosseo' - is excellent: the Forum, the Palatine Hill, the Colosseum, the Basilica di San Clemente, San Giovanni in Laterano, Piazza Venezia, Piazza Campidoglio, etc.

The location was close enough to walk to several points of interest (the Colosseum, Roman Forum, Piazza Venezia, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps etc) yet nestled in a quiet street.

The location is excellent - look out your window and you are looking at the Colosseum, which means you are also at the Forum, the Palatine, the Domus Aurea, the Circus Maximus and a little way from the Piazza Venezia.

a tabaconnist etc around the corner) At the end of the road the Colisseum is right there in front of you, breathtaking, a further 3 mins takes you to the Roman Forum/Palatine and another 5 mins up to Piazza Venezia, fantastic!!
