The pool area was better than most 5 star hotels i have stayed in.

although there was a designated smoking area, people were smoking on the terrace.

I spent 2 weeks walking in the Filzmoos area with a very good friend, stopping at the Alpekrone hotel.

Lovely walks direct from the door and a nice terraced area for drinks which again overlooks  the lovely village below.

Alpenkrone will be our first choice if and when back in the area.

The sauna area is also very lovely and relaxing.

The pool area was nice too, and the spa treatment was reasonably priced (full body massage), and was an absolute dream.

This hotel is perfect for relaxation in a mountain area.

but there really was no need as the hotel has a cosy bar and numerous sofas and seating areas, all with stunning views down to the village or up the the iconic bishops mitre mountain.

The area were the hotel is located is truly spectacular, and the town is beautiful as well.

The public areas are really well kept and the decoration is stunning.

Small indoor pool,many comfortable areas to sit and relax inside and out.

After evening meal, go to comfortable bar area , Michaela mixes a mean cocktail!

The spa facilities were as good as anywhere I have been before and there is a pleasant quiet bar area.

The nicest thing about this hotel is the spa area ( adults only) .

The area is fantastic for hiking and mountain biking during the summer and skiing in winter.

Wi-fi was only available in the Reception area

I visited the Hotel Aplenkrone hotel as a teenager some 25 years ago.

We are a family of 5 ( children age 6,8 and 11) .

The second time was with our 2 year old boy and my wife's daughter and the third was 2 weeks ago with our now 6 year old boy, my wife's daughter and our yorkshire terrier!

Whether it's the Heritage Trail signposted by children's painted plaques, the Wanderbus destinations or taking a self-made packed lunch for the high woods and pastures, the choice is there.

Definitely not the case with this hotel and children would be totally unaware of it.

In the spa area children are not allowed, people (mixed, men and women) walk arround naked, so it is quite.

we even found an old apple core and babies dumies under our bed.

The bathroom was tiny and the stink was horrendous in ours, the children's didn't smell

The bed was comfortable and the room was clean.

We were very happy with the Alpenkrone itself. The rooms were clean and tidy, the showers were easy to use (always a bonus after a hot day on a hill!)

The room was clean, no carpet as we asked and had a niece view on the mountains.

We had a fabulous holiday: the hotel staff were very friendly and family orientated; we loved our well-appointed room that had  spectacular views of the village and mountains; and we had a balcony that was perfect for photography and just enjoying the natural beauty.

Also, there was a regular free ski bus during the daytime.We had a comfortable, spacious and spotless room with a balcony which looked out from the front of the hotel.

The hotel has a good view towards the local mountain nicknamed "The Bishops hat", and the terrace makes a fine place to have a drink and chat while watching the world go by.

From further along  The sun terrace is great  to enjoy a glass of wine and take in the views  There is a good choice of food each day  laid enjoy my stay

The plus side of this is the mind blowing views over the village and surrounding valley from the hotels spacious terrace and many of it's rooms.

The location was ideal and its probably got the best view of any hotel in Filzmoos as its elevated above the village.

but with regular bus connections to the various pistes during the day, or by a short walk to the centre it has fantastic views along the valley.

However, the view is nice, both from restaurant and room.

The local alms are of a good quality, we visited a fair few of them, enjoying good views of the Dachstein mountain area.

but was well worth it for the fabulous views and also that the rooms are very quiet on that side of the hotel.

Filzmoos itself is a very nice village with lots of walking routes for summer visitors with 1 cable car in operation to get you up in the mountains for fantastic views.

Perfect location : calm, amazing view, like in a postcard.

This was one of our favourite hotels we've stayed in on a Lakes and Mountains deal.

We have just returned from another brilliant week  with Ali and Denise, as usual we were treated as part of the family and nothing was too much trouble, it feels like home, so comfortable and cosy and can relax in the TV lounge with a drink after a hard day skiing etc.

Will go again and strongly recommend for singles, couples or groups as the perfect base for biking, hiking or, in the right season, skiing.

Mountain biking, hiking, skiing, tobogganing in winter to Go Karting down a mountain track in summer, Zip line.

Recommended for both the skiing and hiking season!

We were very happy to be able to spend our skiing holiday with Denise and Ali again.

Great location next to cross-country skiing trails.

The Dachstein Glacier is also close by if it's a warmer day with skiing at well over 2500m.

The breakfast is ok, you can get a real good slice of energy before skiing.

A very nice skiing holiday, we pleased to again and again.

Cross country skiing was amazing, the cross-country ski track is just close to the house.

There is a great tourist area not too far away , and also a cable car to take you up the mountain, wether that be for skiing or mountain biking down .

although it is only a 10 minute walk if the weather is kind - good selection of food in town

An honesty bar is available in the B&B - a drying room for your motorcycling/walking or skiing gear.

It is a great location for cross country-ski run, walking and skiing as well.

After we admired the view onto the mountains, we had a very delicious breakfast and could go cross-country skiing on perfect groomed loipes which are easy and fast to reach at a walking distance.

Our weekend was perfect: some people skiing and some people swimming.

Breakfast was very well laid out with plenty of choice available for a long morning's skiing.

We will return and I recommend this Pension House to anyone whether it be for skiing in nearby Schladming or just a relaxing break with beautiful scenary.

An excellent base for our cross country skiing holiday with the nearest loipe within yards of the house.

We enjoyed a trip to the Dachstein glacier and also a fun afternoon on the mountain go-carts.

Good breakfast and awesome views of the surrounding mountains.

Host took us up to the karting mountain and we zoomed down.

We keep coming back here for the warm hospitality and amazing views.

They took us out up the mountain and I had my first ski-bike experience and night time toboggan.

The venue was ideal with wonderful views from our bedroom of the surrounding area.

It was our first tour of Austria and wow what a country, great views, magnificent roads, superb food and then there was Ali and Denise, nothing was to much trouble, lending you a jacket to booking a table at a restaurant we owe them both a huge thank you.

We hiked, walked, took a lift to the Dachstien, rented e-bikes, ate alot, watched the cows come down from the mountains and wished we could have stayed longer.

The location is ideal if you like bends, views, mountain passes and some of the most fantastic scenery on your doorstep.

It was a convenient location to 3 mountain lifts with great views, including Dachstein.

We have stayed before with Ali and Denise who are most excellent hosts with a vast knowledge of the area for all activities.

But the wait was worth it with hosts Ali and Denise as welcoming as ever.

Ideally located for some of the best motorbiking roads around and with secure parking and the hosts local knowledge, it is a perfect choice for a base or just a stopover.

We stayed 6 nights in July and could not have asked for better hosts, Alistair and Denise are a great team, providing a beautiful breakfast (Gluten free catered for), a comfortable room and more than enough up to date information about the area.

Spending a few days off the bike in such beautiful surroundings was very welcome and the hosts Ali & Denise could not be more friendly and helpful.

but the area is a Ski resort and ideal for winter sports which are very close by.

We will return if we pass through the area again.

The area where the Alpine Club is located is very beautiful with good access to skiing, mountain walks for any abilities or just riverside strolls with an abundance of cafe/bistros for enjoying a coffee and cake.

but the reception staff provided a list of suitable restaurants in the area, meaning that you have to drive off-site for facilities.

We had a spacious accommodation with a kitchen and dining area in a beautiful place. It offers a walk in shower, spacious sink with room to store a lot of toiletries on and underneath it, a microwave, stove, dishwasher, pots, pans, cutlery and dishes, etc., quiet(!)

My opinion was influenced by: comfortable bed, well-equipped kitchen, great swimming pool, table tennis, children's playground, relaxation area in the garden, friendly service and of course a great view of the wonderful Alps

there is an indoor pool game room and laundry room in the comunal areas

but with the help of the reception staff we got all the information about the area and alternative suggestions for places and activities in order to take the maximum of experience in such a short time.

Kids play area is lovely and the swimming pool is lovely and was generally quiet when we were there.

The abundance of ski areas within a one hour drive is a sheer delight.

On the plus side, this resort is in a great location for hill walking in the area, and there's a bus stop right outside.

The pool and workout area were between the two houses.

The restaurant was suburb, in door and out door dining areas!

There was an area with tables, chairs and lounge chairs for sunning.

the only thing you need to get a better stay is that the hotel is not include in the summer lift card so you get no discount for lifts and other thing to do in the summer.

We paid for the Wifi and had budgeted for it knowing that they did charge.

Other reviewers have complained about the cleanliness of the resort and the extra charges for such things as pool towels and the in-room safe.

The only flaw..negative thing is that wifi is not included in the price, it should be paid extra, which is so strange, wifi is everywhere free of charge.

If you don't have plans to swim, you will be charged for them.

though strangely we were not charged for this - perhaps they are reviewing this charge?

I struggled at the concept of buying a tourist card at a Supermarket!

but anything else in the hotel is charged separately: pool, sauna, wifi internet, breakfast.

I should add owners do get some free of charges facilities to offset this, wifi, leisure complex etc.

2) All the entertainments for a charge including the swimming pool!!!

Excellent scenery, the only complaint is that they still charge you for the wifi, which is found free in some local restaurants.

If you're arriving on a Saturday, keep in mind that most of the town is shut all weekend long, and you will not be able to buy a local SIM card until Monday morning.

Only downside is that the hotel is not part of the Summer Card system,

The Schladming Card which gives visitors various discounts and free rides on the cable cars is not part of this hotel offering which is a real pitty.

I enquired about the internet and was warned that connection was not good and if I tried it and the connection was bad then I could cancel it the next day with no charge.

The hotel doesn't offer SUMMER CARD which is really necessarily for this region.

Tennis , table tennis and pool was available with no charge except a deposit for the cues.

A wash cloth can only be obtained for an extra 2 Euro charge!

We had a great time, we got a well-equipped, spacious apartment on the top floor.

The change from Diamond Resorts to Hilton has clearly shown that the quality of senior management is not as focused on ensuring that customers have exceptional holidays with great services and facilities

Great apartment, parking, apartment layout, facilities and view all greats.

The rooms were beatiful and cozy, the kitchen was fully equipped and we even had a balcony.

Alpine Club easy to find, parking facility perfect, apartment we had was  large and gave us perfect time and comfort for relax , 15 min walk to the Schladming centre, return trip is a little bit "heavier " up to the hill

Appartments are fully equipped and the staff is extremely friendly, The resort is well organised and clean.

There is a big and warm swimming pool as well.

We found the appartement clean and well equipped.

The apartment I got was super clean, well equipped and the staff (Verena) was super friendly!

The kitchen is well equipped and suited our needs.

Our room was spacious, properly equipped with a astonishing view to the mountains and the Schladming valley.

Unfortunately, for the first time we feel a drop in quality in relation to the maitenance price.

Normally this hotel's rates are much higher.

Unfortunately, the Sommercard is NOT ncluded, that reduces the price performance quite a bit.

The least pleasant experience of our stay here was that there was no longer a restaurant, so breakfast - which we knew wasn't included in the price - was not at al available.

but more attention should be paid to checking the cleaned apartment.

Nobody told us so when I paid 1500.- EUR.

Not having one must have cost us over 150 euros (over a 5 day stay) and limited what we could do.

In the end I was supposed to pay EUR 25 for the pool/day despite of written confirmation from the resort of the opposite.

but ONLY for Diamond Resort members and since I wasn't a member, I had to pay for each device.

you have  to pay extra for all additional services like wifi, safe and for pool as well .There is one public swimming games in town with no more than 11 euro .
