For those reasons I wouldn’t return, definitely recommend booking somewhere closer to the beaches and parking in long stay car parks if you’re there for the beaches/town

We made this our main summer holiday destination this year due to the chaos at the airports, and, we made the right decision to stay at Premier Inn,  quintrell downs, just over 2 miles from Newquay,  on the bus route, choice of 3 buses, and train station, couple of nearby village pubs, and the hotel staff were friendly and knowledgeable, restaurant/pub, lovely food and drinks, free car parking, perfect ingredients for a lovely stay, especially as the sun shone the whole time

Car parking is free which is good as a lot of premier inn charge for this.

The Inn was very quiet despite how many cars where outside I don't think we saw or heard anorher person, good facilities in the room and the large bath was great!

Parking easy and safe  the hotel is situated just in the right place for a visit into car wall and surrounding area.

but sometimes the meals are not as good as others  showers are really good power shower beds really clean hotal really clean and easy to check in and a good size car park overall stay very good

Fairly quick to check in with a large enough car park at the back.

excellent service from all staff, very welcoming and efficient both in the hotel and restaurant with good choice of value for money food, lots of car parking on site.

Otherwise its location on the outskirts of town is perfect for heading off to explore by car.

Plenty of car parking for guests and pub visitors.

Very well situated to get to anywhere in Cornwall by either car or bus.

Good car parking and a lift if you can't use the stairs.

Convenient location very easy to get into central Newquay and large car parking which can be a nightmare sometimes when on holidays.

Fistral beach, Newquay zoo, The eden project all a short car journey away.

The WiFi was ok, and car park was big enough to always get a space.

Made welcome from the start, slept well, very clean room and good car parking.

A good big car park, and not too far from the attractions of Cornwall.

We went to Fistral beach, lands end, st Ives, mousehole, Eden project, Bedruthan steps from here.

Great location for Newquay - a ten minute or so drive to Fistral beach.

Had a really nice 2 night stay when attending the Boardmasters Festival, Convenient for Fistral Beach and Watergate bay.

Close enough for a couple of miles drive to Fistral Beach, and vey near the A30.

The hotel urgently needs a refurbishment and the poor staff are run ragged due to shortages.

Just frustrated to  loose the room and to be woke up by a silly toaster location is a bit poor for a firm like premier inn.

?the central heating is electric with a poor temperature controller down to 17C and still sweating

We did pay for the unlimited breakfast, of which was very poor.

Bar and restaurant need proper management and food was cold and poor quality ingredients.

All in all the food experience was poor on this occasion.

good location, good breakfast staff, poor staff at dinner, no phones in the room, bad internet.

The pub and meal booking gets extremely busy, especially if the weather is poor.

Very Helpful staff, But poor sleep due to Noise of aircon fans.

- Usual Premier Inn policy of only providing one hand towel (why should I always have to return to reception to request a 2nd towel)
- Had a sirloin steak one night and it was poor.

This hotel is noisy,and the bed was poor and smelt of smoke.

The breakfast was very poor compared to other premier inn breakfasts.

but major downside for me as I was on a business trip was the poor wifi (yes you can pay for an upgrade but nowadays you shouldn't have to) and the phone signal was so poor in my room that effective working was impossible.

Location was good, quality sleep was poor due to room being on top of some sort of power room, didn't see much staff and when we did they were talking g with other members of staff
I was very disappointed with my stay at this hotel,

This poor rating is for one particular room in this particular Premier Inn.

Was woken up by the sounds of water gurgling at 1am till 2.30am!

After speaking to guest relations, apparently I should have made a complaint as the noise was happening so they could rectify.

We had to have the window open as it was warm and so the noise of the traffic was a bit of a bother.

Unfortunately the room we were in was above the plant room and the noise kept us awake.

The bed was uncomfortable, lumpy and noisy.

The noise from the road traffic at Quintrell Downs was loud and went on thru the night on the 3 nights we were there so sleep was disturbed a lot.

How would you like It If I came to your house and shoved a Air Horn through your letterbox at lets say 2:00 In the Morning three times.

This was okay until early morning when we were woken up by this lady shouting and swearing into her phone.

The only issues we had was that the bed creaked loudly with minimal movement and the free wifi wasn’t worth the hassle, which I assume is deliberate so that you pay for the more expensive ‘premier’ wifi.

but………We were given a really big room with one major issue…the window did not shut so we were kept awake all night with the wind whistling through the secondary glazing.

but with windows closed no traffic noise at all.

stay away at all costs pickedthis hotel over one on newquay seafront as some of the reviews said it was loud well let me tell you it could not have been louder then here as all you get staying here are builders rooms were not clean kettle had gunk coming out of the spout when i went to reception to ask for anougther one was met by a very rude lady saying we dont have any more!

The rooms have A/C so no issues with a stuffy room at night and not being able to open the windows due to road noise.

but being on a main road (roundabout) traffic noise was horrendous from about 5.30am onwards.

One morning we were rudely awakened by the fire alarm going off at 7am.

Unfortunately, I only got 3 hours sleep due to the noise so was disappointed we got a ground floor room and after a 6 5 hour journey to the hotel just needed a good sleep!

Bed uncomfortable very hard had a horrible nights sleep glad I was only here 1 night as I have never woken up so many times in one night and was only given one pillow which was so thin you may as well of not had one at all.

We kept getting woken up every time other rooms flushed their toilets, really load!

but 1 night we were woken up at just after 4 am by loud noises from the room upstairs.

Stayed here a few times and never disappointed, check in quick and easy, communal areas very clean, the room was immaculate and there was a little treat left in there for us too, will continue to use this lovely hotel everytime I come here to visit my family.

Great location,plenty of parking space friendly staff, clean rooms and a great night sleep and you wake up to a  Lovely all you can eat breakfast.

Rooms were clean and the shower cleaned the salt and sand off with ease from the days at the beach.

By far the best stay at this handy for visiting Cornwall local attractions, premier inn.

but being understaffed at the moment is not always easy.We didn't have a sofa / sofa bed in the room this time which we did miss staying for 5 days, just a couple of hard chairs.We would return here as a good base for visiting other parts of Cornwall, & not far from Newquay, use the bus stops or the park & ride up the road to go into Newquay though as limited parking there & big queues into town.

We will visit again, we'll done to all staff during these unprecedented times.

We usually choose this premier inn when we are visiting Cornwall because of the central location, restaurant and facilities.

Wish other places we visited while we were in Newquay were half as pleasant

We were very nervous about travelling in lockdown and took various paper proofs of to the nature of our visit.

My partner and i have just returned from a 6 day break visiting family in New quay and stayed in the Quintrell downs hotel.

She really went above and beyond to make sure our visit was a pleasant one.

Hotel easy to find, well placed to visit all family and friends within the area.

although you need to book tables early as it's very popular (our visit was at end of October).

Sam our waitress in the pub area for dinner was very lovely , time for a chat about our visit.

This was our second visit and we had a lovely stay again.

This is definitely a place to visit again and explore more of Cornwall.

I just wanted to say I have went way for a weekend break with my family.to visit Cornwall,
I have stayed 2 nights and I have to say this hotel staff is the best .

Excellent location for visiting Newquay Perranporth Mevagissey and so many beaches to chose from, we would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to friends and family , we even went to Padstow for Rick Steins fish n chip 😝

Despite complaining to the reception, the only answer was there were no other rooms available and a fan was provided.

but couldn't control heating, far too hot in room and did not sleep very well as a result.

Very warm rooms and no air con fans are that loud it is difficult to sleep.

Ok the hotel is old, doesn’t have aircon and the windows only open a few inches

No air con, considering room was 28 degrees and windows barely open.

The fans in rooms are dreadfull and shouldn't even be allowed to be used there that bad.

No ac in room and staff unable to move us or provide portable ac units or a basic fan??

Will find a premier inn with air con next time.

but the fans didn’t even push the air around, and I don’t think anyone should be charged over £100 a night to not be able to sleep, especially as premier inn offer a goodnight guarantee yet staff did nothing to offer a refund, suggesting there is nothing they can do, which I sympathise with.

but no air conditioning in the rooms, my room didn't go below 30 degrees for the two nights I was there, the fan was as much use as a chocolate fireguard so two rubbish nights sleep.

The only point is there is no air conditioning in this hotel and it was quite warm at night.

As it is on a busy and noisy road the windows did not open fully - there was no air conditioning - so even with a fan the room was quite hot and sticky.

Rooms where hot and stuffy..fan did not help.

Nope .. nothing there at all and this is after a sweaty night with a noisy tiny fan buzzing away to keep cool because if you open the window you get the noise of every large truck going into and coming out of Cornwall right outside your window. Lovely.

Air circulation is very poor in the room.

Good easy to use premier Inn ideally located for visiting the area good room v clean very quiet all-round good location etc polite staff and now with new retail park behind it also next to it is the normal attached pub/restaurant which at time we visited was very good

Ideal for motoring holiday in the Cornwall area or the South West in general.

This hotel proved the perfect location for a trip to see family in the area.

This is a great location in the heart of Cornwall with easy access to all areas.

Located next to a lovely restaurant with nice play area for children.

On the positives, the location is good as being on the A30 it's quite central to many areas of Cornwall.

We have relations in the area so location was ideal and lots of interesting places to visit within an hours travel.

Meals in pub were great lovely breakfast  easy to get to all areas of cornwall just over an hour to both coasts fifteen minutes out of newquay.

Located next to the A30 which is so easy to get to other local areas, would definitely stay there again.

but no road noise , Close to some shops ,fuel station next door , Handy for exploring the area , or reaching places if you are on busyness .

Well located area, not far from everything everything seems to be between 7-15 miles away from where we wanted to go.

Stayed here before and Was pleased with location and premises hence we chose it again excellent room and service evening meal in the brewers fayre was good and reasonably priced ,

It had the Brewers Fayre next door with a play area for the kids, a McDonalds just up from that, petrol station, Next and a large store selling a variety of products from clothing to homeware- this also had a handy cafe and post office.

We stayed here as it was a good location to the area.

Yet straight forward and simple route to fistral beach area.

Great decision as the evening traffic was light and it was just a 20 minute journey to the beach the next morning.

Close to both Newquay and Perranporth for some lovely coastal walks. Perfect.

well i cant say to date we have stayed in a bad one yet, great welcome by the staff and anything is not to much trouble, accommodating extra cups and tea bags on request located very well in the middle of cornwall, ideal for exploring all coast lines, well run, clean, even when we were away during the day they kept on top of the room, trusting and helpfull.

It's in a great location, with easy access to fabulous beaches, The Eden Project, Tintagel Castle and more.

the room was a good size clean and tidy .beds were comfortable .close to the A30 easy access to all routes .not far to go to the beaches something for everyone to do all ages.The staff at the premeir inn was all friendly and helpful.

We chose this location as it enabled y=us to explore  both the south and north coast of Cornwall.

Nice and central for going to either coast.

Easy drive to other towns like Padstow, Newquay beaches, St Ives.

He listened to us and helped us to get to some secluded beaches which really made our few days.

We chose this PI as it was close to the Eden project and not too far a drive from the coastal bit of Newquay.

Well situated between the North and South coast.

This hotel is in a very convenient location if you need a base to do some hopping around the north coast of Cornwall.

This is the third time in 3 years we have stayed at this Premier Inn, we find it very convenient being on the A30 and in a central location to many of Cornwall's beaches and attractions, both on the North and South coast.

It's location on the A30 is perfect for touring Cornwall's many beautiful towns and beaches.

Eden project , local beach at Crantock , st Ives , Padstow and the pub next door was a dream , nothing was two much !

It a good place to go to if your going to be out and about more, it's very convenient if you'll be going shopping to the beach ect.

service friendly and kind, location great for Watergate Bay where we like to surf.

It looked like this might be the case for all the rooms as all windows were open with fixed netting outside.

Even with the window open, the traffic noise from the A30 wasn’t intrusive.

The hotel is near the main road- clue is in the hotel title, which is noisy and with the hot weather made it impossible to have the window open through the night

The only down side was the heat in the room, even window open still very hot

but we couldn’t open the window , because our room was next to the busy dual carriage way .

Only 1 miniscule window to open just a crack to try and cool the room,

We stayed during a very hot week and the room and corridors were unbearable - we asked for a fan and they didn’t have any and don’t provide them in the rooms - we could only open our window a tiny way so  it was far too hot and we had 4 very sleepless nights despite going and buying ourselves 2 fans for the room!

I stayed for 6 nights with my kids, room was 29 degrees and fans don’t work, the staff have limited resources so this review is not for the staff the hotel needs air con or windows need to open up enough to let some air in, a very bad experience and would not stay at this hotel again.

Ended up having to open the window, and then scrabbling to turn on a fan (now I understand why it was there) at 3am.

Overall a bit tatty externally and don't expect to have the window open during the evening due to the traffic noise.

The only down side for me was it was a bit noisy in the mornings with trucks giving back & forth (I like to sleep with my window open)

No Air Con here so beware of this if visiting in summer months as windows only open slightly.

Also, the hotel is so close to the A30 there is a lot of road noise with the window open.

Have the windows open, the noise level means no sleep.

but I had to have the windows open and the hotel is right on the extremely busy A30 where there was a constant stream of traffic flowing by until late in the night.

When we left the room we had left the window open in the hope to call the room down.

I've genuinely never known a fan that could produce less air movement even on full, it would not move a tissue from about 6".

Problem with noise from upstairs room throughout the night & early morning by children running amok.

Very noisy large fan at the end of the bed.

but this was so noisy it had to be turned off.

Stay awake and feel a tiny bit cooler or try to sleep and sweat like a piggy ..

Unfortunately I would not return because of the noise, I had a ground floor and every step was a loud creek, the same from above, which did spoil my stay.

but we had floorboards that creaked every place you stepped and the room above us was the same meaning we woke up at 4.30am when the person above us did.

That didn't happen because the bed was very uncomfortable (the mattress was dented into the middle), ceiling was squeaking all night long (must be wooden floorboards), and the carpet & bathroom smelled terrible.

We could hear noise from outside (cars), next doors and especially upstairs.

Reading some of the past reviews about the noise from the road did make me wary at first

but with the window closed we honestly didn’t hear a thing, very well soundproofed.

The floor boards are a bit creaky so if your a light sleeper maybe take ear plugs.

Next to a lovely pub/restaurant which has lovely food.

Welcoming hotel, great location for visiting Cornwall, lots of great shops and cafes adjacent, which is convenient.

Adjoining pub had all the usual fare of food.

Even the restaurant had a birthday sign for the table.

A pub/ restaurant next to the lodge.who could ask for anything more.

Restaurant next door serves a good breakfast and has a very extensive menu to suit all tastes.

I haven’t seen a Lasagna for under £10  in a restaurant for years!

Mark on reception was very welcoming and lovely to have a chat too and then went over to the restaurant for dinner and everyone was friendly, again welcoming, was served by Katie and she was amazing, I asked for something off the menu and she made it work and was delicious!!

I regularly have 5 guys staying at the same hotel and they eat out because of choice, quality, cost and portion size.

M&S opposite with a food hall which made a nice change from Premier 'pub grub'.

You can book a table at the Penhale Round pub next door for dinner or breakfast, we've done both and the staff were very welcoming and helpful plus the food was good.

Food in the restaurant was very good, and the service excellent.

Save your money and go McDonald's next door for a quarter of the price.

Good size clean room and very good shower/ bath etc 
Excellent service and food from the Premier Inn  and Cookhouse Inn.

In the evening before the wedding my whole family joined me for a meal in the restaurant.

Breakfast at the next door restaurant is good value.

The Staff on the other are excellent and the food in the Restaurant is good.

I’d advise highly against the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast! !

Lovely little retail park next door with a Next, Tkmaxx, m&s, mcdonalds and Boots.

The room was clean and tidy, no complaints from us
