We were served champagne while checking in which was lovely.

From champagne greeting, to the frontdoor man(person) walking you to the car with an umbrella in the rain.

Anyways, we're happy the service, positioning of the hotel, and the champagne breakfast buffet made it work out at the end

The breakfast was very good offering wide choice of food even champagne for those that want to start the day fresh :).

Like many other reviews, we were greeted with champagne!

I was greeted with a glass of champagne as I entered the lobby and approached the check in desk.

It began with the staff giving you two glasses of champagne!

Rooms very good, shower fantastic, staff so friendly and helpful, breakfast was unbelievable, got champagne on arrival, great location and even the hotel taxi driver Marcelo was fantastic to us! !

Arriving at this lavish sophisticated hotel is something else, I was greeted with a glass of champagne and my five-year-old son was given a Miramar football on checking in.

We were very impressed with the service received on arrival - champagne reception, and very quick check in process.

It certainly lived up to our expectations, the staff are so welcoming and friendly, we were given a free upgrade on arrival which along with the free glass of champagne was great after a long day of travelling.

Check in was positively delightful- champagne for my husband and I and orange juice for our son.

Starting at the initial check in, my allocated room (good size bath); glass of champagne and very helpful and courteous.

During check-in we were greeted with free glasses of champagne!

The breakfast room had the best spread of beautiful fruits etc, even champagne for breakfast if you chose.

Points of difference was the champagne and vast variance available at breakfast, and the beach service.

but I was surprised to be charged for the pods used upon check out which was never notified or ever been the case in other hotels.

There are only 2 things that I think they could do to make it better : blackout curtains and guest cards to use elevator!

Plenty of 220v sockets to charge our phones and gadgets.It rained pretty much for the 3 full days we were in Rio so we did not miss the view-as it would have been grey and cloudy anyway.

but strong shower; decent breakfast spread; warm rooftop pool; little birthday cake for my wife placed in room. Let downs: reception staff not welcoming or friendly; our IPrefer hotels elite status was not recognised, benefits declined or reluctantly given on request; room felt dark and too close to ugly adjacent block; in room Nespresso coffee charged 9 Reals (tip: go to Nespresso shop in nearby Ipenema and buy pods for less than 3 Reals!)

It is so suprising that using the coffee inroom was charged.

They went out of their way and checked us in at that time for no additional charge and also upgraded our room at no charge.

I had an issue with my credit card on my return home whereby the hotel holding deposits were not clearing, I received an immediate response and assistance from the reception staff to sort this out.

So either they are making administration mistakes or someone is taking minibar items and charging them to guests.

but I quickly determined that it would have been several times what a Taxi or Uber would charge for a trip to the Christ Redeemer statue.

2 weeks prior to my trip, my credit card number was stolen and the bank issued a new card/new number.

Oh, the Nespresso machine in the room, whose presence the trumpet, can only be used for an additional charge.

but they charge too much for the coffee - so it is better to order a complimentary Nespresso during breakfast. .!

We arrived very early (7am) and they managed to get us an early check in at no extra charge (we just had to fill out a form).

She also said our room was ready half an hour earlier and we could go straight in it and she wouldn’t charge us. wow!!

i am sure one of the front desk staff is scamming the credit cards.

To their credit someone did call the following day with the offer of a de luxe room with a sea view

As a solo traveler it would have been good to know that the hotel does not allow any visitors at their roof top bar and swimming pool so friends could not visit at any point, even after I had offered to pay additional charges.

You can hear your neighbors in the shower and the room doors don't  close silently

you can hear bang the doors of other guests.

There was a number of times during my stay when I would be laying in bed and was awoken from people talking in the hall and doors slamming.

Be sure to have your taxi drop you at the front door on the side street rather than on the main avenue if navigating curbs is difficult.

Also the doors don't close unless you pull them too so the auto close would eliminate 2 issues.

The bathroom also had a weird layout which meant you could not close the door unless you maneuvered awkwardly into the shower first.

The only tip I would give is the concierge at the door of the hotel don’t seem to be that knowledgable of all the food restaurants and bars!

One family had a loud conversation outside our door which lasted several minutes, their child meanwhile ran up & down the corridor screaming and then hurt themselves so starting crying.

I asked at checking in for a room with no connecting door to neighbouring apartment and my request was executed.

The doors to each room do not close quietly and there is banging noise each night until everyone on your floor has gone to bed, then people leave their rooms early to do excursions so the banging starts again.

The main negatives of our stay was the lack of proper soundproof room doors.

Unsoundproofed connecting doors make the rooms very noisy -you can hear Everything.

You can hear everything from your neighbors and every door that is slammed right in the middle of the night.

The front door, most of the reception (had serious attitude from 2 of the female staff), and restaurant (a little problem with 1 waiter at the pool) staff were super and and a huge part of the hotel's success.

We were woken up at all hours with guests in corridors, next door, it was really not good.

From the guys on the door to the room-maid, there is just a seamless flow of excellence.

Also noise through connecting door to next room!

Each morning you wake up with the loud voices of the employees working outside your door .

Roof top pool bar was good and had great views.

Although I will say the ones by the pool area were quite serious and did not crack a smile.

However this meant there wasn’t anyone by the pool taking selfies which is always nice.

The hotel also has an incredible roof-top pool and bar which overlook the Copacabana with amazing views.

Which meant I was a flight of stairs away from the captivating views of Copacobana Beach and direct pool access.

The rooftop pool and bar was really nice.

The pool area was very clean and we had plenty of space to lounge around.

Overall the staff in the Miramar Hotel were great-  very attentive and friendly- any requests or wishes were instantly fulfilled with a smile no matter if in the restaurant, pool bar, reception, maids, drivers, etc .

All of these was complimented by a breathtaking pool/bar rooftop.

One of the highlights of the property is the roof top pool, which is a great place to spend the hot afternoon hours.

- Top floor has a very nice terrace with an awesome view and a nice 'little' pool.

On the roof is a beautiful pool with a view on the Copacabana beach and the fort.

In fact, it's got a far better view from the pool than next-door-but-one Emiliano, which is sandwiched between two taller buildings, so you can only look directly outwards to the sea, not up the beach.

Hotel is nice and have a really good location, the view from the pool is amazing and the breakfast is one of the best in Rio ahhh and their chocolates.

Very good facilities, comfortable rooms, beautiful infinity pool and bar on the roof.

The view from the rooftop pool is breathtaking.

The points that are not very good is the noise and the clean.

We could also hear the lifts as the room was right beside them.

Very noisy fridge that would "buzz" when it would cool itself during the night.

but even whilst being there only a few days, we did hear a few people in the hotel state they were mugged.

Breakfast was very good with lots of choice - we didn’t get an ocean view room - whilst the view might have been good the noise I think would have been really bad.

Dont afraid about private tour sounds expensive

NB: If you are up and about early sightseeing the noise may not be so much of a problem.

We could hear everything the neighbour was saying.

We could also hear the some conversations of our neighbors.

We could also hear the room next door's intimacy.

although it can get noisy during the night.

but the airconditioning is noisy and sound proofing from room to room could be a little better, but overall a great hotel with good location.

There is a constant parade of homeless drugged out people in front.

but on Sunday half of it was closed to traffic.

One problem is that the soundproofing in the room is very poor so we struggled to sleep on 2 occasions due to noise in the corridors.

but why are we able to hear so much of what happens outside?

So loudly present that several people left the swimming pool.

but reception was so welcoming, they offered me my welcome drink and accommodated my early check in request and got me a room a floor beneath the rooftop pool and bar!

The roof top pool was also hard to resist.

The rooftop pool and bar is fun to hang out in at night.

Check in, drop your bags in the beautiful comfy room and head to the rooftop pool.

The pool on the rooftop is a nice place to relax with a great view on the beach.

I loved everything about this hotel, lovely pool rooftop, great rooms, delicious food and convenient location.

If you stay here, you must go to the rooftop pool/bar.

The facilities of the hotel includes a very nice rooftop pool with amazing view over the Copacabana beach (image below).

I cannot recommend this hotel enough, the location, the rooftop pool and most importantly the amazing staff.

Although we arrived in the pouring rain, by the second day, the sunshine allowed a stunning view of Copacabana Beach and Sugarloaf Mountain from our room.

The location is difficult to beat and the rooftop pool area offers jaw-dropping views of the beach, Sugarloaf mountain and the surrounding neighborhood.

The pool on top of the hotel is really nice, perfect view over the sugarloaf mountain!

We fell in love with the views  facing sugarloaf mountain.

What can I say, I booked a partial beach view and ended up with the beach to my left and Christ the Redeemer to my right, I guess that will do!!!!

We'd specifically booked a hotel that would have a view to Copacabana beach.

This hotel is located in the heart of Copacabana Beach and just across the street from the beach.

although the night it is way cooler in temperature and the view in the evening over Copacabana beach is awesome.

Its represents excellent value for money given its location on Copacabana beach and is, in general, very comfortable.

But, after a lot of stress, I managed to enjoy the beautiful view of the 
Copacabana beach.

This is a comfortable modern hotel in an excellent location right on Copacabana beach.

The main plus of this hotel is it's position right on the Copacabana beach and yet the rooms were not noisy.

The location of the hotel is a major plus point with it being right opposite the Copacabana Beach.

Yes there was only one lift working it was not an issue really
But I would say check your bill we found a smoking charge added they didn’t point it out and we don’t smoke so we were a bit outraged requested second check and it was removed from bill  .

If your travel company lives on a different floor than you, you cannot easily visit their room, because your elevator key card only permits you to visit your own floor.

only one comment, they charge the stay either when you book or at the check in+ instead of standard procedure> they should charge at the check out.

2) was charged for 2 bottles of ordinary water

There is iPhone charging points so you can simply plug in the USB adapter.

Adaptors can also be borrowed from Front Desk to charge shavers, etc.

In the room I could only locate 1 electrical outlet for charging which is too little these days.

Also note coffee reasonable price tea very expensive - we ordered tea for 2 to our room and was charged £12.

With 2 people we had 2 phones and 2 iPads so getting things charged was a challenge.

My only problem is one night I tried to bring a female friend and a security guard tried to charge me for a guest when a night before I had friends over with no problem so I thought that was kinda dishonest.

although you can still order fried eggs they are charged for.

The door card never worked, so on multiple occasions every single day for 5 nights during our stay we had to come downstairs to get a new card.

Unfortunately, till this day i did not received any post cards.

You think I have got this charges addressed?!

The only complaint is there weren't any outlets near the bed for charging phones, etc.

At check out staff didn't  even looked at my face, instead kept talking to a coworker, the only time he acknowledged me it was when he needed my credit card!

However, the hotel had crammed the dining room full with tables so it felt extremely uncomfortable and the queues to the small buffet table were just too long. Queues to the two, already inadequate and downright scary elevators were long, and I actually ended up taking the stairs (a long and very sweaty work-out!)

The only thing I did not like too much was the elevator system.

The coffee at breakfast is always dreadful, the internet is rather flaky, and the lifts somewhat unreliable.

Out of the two elevators only ONE was working.

The lift clanked constantly all night so I couldn’t get to sleep.

Usually there are mirrors near the lifts so you can check what you look like before going out,

Our only complain is that one of the elevators was out if service for most of our stay, and the bathroom in one of our rooms did not want to flush at times.

The lift was a bit small and rickety and not good for persons with claustrophobia.

I was given Room 1203 which was right next to the hotel elevator so it was quite noisy with people coming and going all night.

even though we heard others talking about the elevator.

On 3 of the 4 days during our stay, my key stopped working which necessitated catching the lift and going back down to Reception.

Plus, you have to use your room key to get the elevator to go up and that didn't always work right.

Only downside was all the rooms are quite close to the elevator so if you have noisy neighbours they might keep you up

Pool area also very attractive, and thanks to Matheus there.

All around just wonderful, the pool was so clean and refreshing, the bar and drinks so tasty, I just cannot say enough.

The pool top bar is a great spot with a sideon view of Christ the Redeemer.

The pool and bar had a great view and the food was very good for the normal bar food fare!

The rooftop pool was refreshing and well maintained.

Pool was good and staff were friendly and helpful.

The panoramic view from the pool is unbelievable!

The pool area on the roof is fairly small with facilities for sunbathing with a pool bar.

The views from the rooftop pool are excellent.

but I believe is one of the places to come back and explore even more of Rio De Janeiro and meet again nice Brazilian friends it really awesome 
Oh and cocktails is really nice at the top of the roof from bar with swimming pool

Yes I would love to stay again, staff were all very friendly and kind, pool was too cold for us to go in.

At the rooftop bar, Jailton is a wonderful bartender and always has a smile on his face and makes our rooftop dinners very enjoyable!
