The grounds look better than ever, rooms are updated, Hula Bar team is attentive and engaging, and we had a wonderful time.

The bar is next to the beach so that's a bonus.

Every amenity we needed was provided on the resort including a pool hut, beachfront bar with excellent food and drinks, several swimming pools and whirlpools (some adult only) and a gift shop that had a Starbucks and mini grocery store that had everything we needed from alka seltzer to ketchup to a hair scrunchy and more!

The food at Honu bar was really delicious and we visited a few time.

We had lunch at the Honu Bar often which was great.

Our friends have a time share at this Marriott resort and we enjoyed an afternoon at the Honu Pool Bar & Grill.

As a frequent Kauai visitor nice to just chill, whether that's snorkeling, swimming, lounging reading a book, or hanging at the Honu bar.

The food at the Honu Beach Bar was really good.

We especially enjoyed getting a MaiTai from the pool bar and then finding a sweet spot along the ocean to wait for the sunset and the "Green Flash".

We liked the bar, the hot-tubs, and the area by the beach with lounge chairs.

The food we ordered from the poolside bar was fresh and delicious.

The sunsets from the small bar down on the beach are pretty amazing I have to admit.

This property was superbly located The pool bar makes the best mai tais in all of Hawai’i!

The pools and beach were nice amenities and the bar staff was always attentive and friendly.

Service has been top notch - bar drinks are tasty.

And a nice bar on the beach to get food, smoothies or lava flows!

The oceanfront location near Poipu State Park beach is wonderful.

We spent almost every morning at Poipu Beach, which is truly right off the resort grounds.

We love that we can step out of our patio door and walk right to the beach.

Took several walks, saw turtles and seals on the nearby beaches and watched the sunset every night!

Beautifully landscaped and manicured, nestled in the waters off Poipu Beach, Waiohai is a small, quaint and comfortable property perfect for quiet and relaxation.

I'm all about the beach, especially an easy-in-easy-out gentle wave beach with warm clear water.

The beach is great to hangout and watch the surfers or plunge for some dips.

We saw seals and turtles every day on the beach which was amazing.

We had drinks and food, enjoyed the beach and the ocean view.

but there is a great boogie boarding beach close by and the turtles will swim right next to you.

The beach in front of the hotel was perfect for the little ones, and they were in love with the pools.

A great beach to walk and explore in both directions.

The property is located next to Poipu beach which can be convenient

The Poipu location offers beach access, a warm pool, nearby shopping, dining options and many breathtaking natural wonders to explore.

Waiohai’s pools were in great condition & the grounds looked great!

As we walked through and around the grounds, we were struck by the stunning vistas on the beach side.

The employees that we did encounter around the grounds were all wonderful.

Lovely balcony with a gorgeous view of the ocean to our right, and a total view of the magnificent grounds below us.

The grounds are beautiful and meticulously cared for.

The resort has beautiful grounds and extremely friendly and helpful staff.

It has maintained beautiful grounds and is very personal because of its small size compared to other large properties.

We’ll probably return to Waiohai, because of the fantastic location on Poipu Beach, the beautiful grounds, and the warm hospitality of most of the staff.

The staff were friendly and the grounds are beautiful, so the Vacation Club portion may be  great option,

The grounds are really well maintained with lawns, waterfalls and nice foliage.

.so this resort definitely has the best beach in my opinion on Kauai and we especially enjoyed the frequent sightings of turtles and monk seals on our beach several days.

Will definitely be back here again when we next visit Kauai.

Never have been to Kauai we were wondering what the best Marriott timeshare was on Kauai and just from the lick of the draw came here

but our exception is Kauai and the Marriott Waiohai where we look forward to returning every year.

For our first trip to the Hawaiian islands, we chose this location, right at the south end of Kauai.

I also recommend heading out to Kauai Coffee as well.

Overall Kaua’i notes: Great location in Kauai.

Overall for Kauai this is a great resort, parking is easy (at least in the back) and the facilities are top notch.

Definitely a nice place to base yourself out of for you Kauai adventures.

Poipu beach is one of the best beaches in Kauai and the Marriott Waiohai is right on Poipu.

but the toiletries are to die for - made in Kauai, organic and just divine.

We missed just about everything you offered because between 8a-2p we went exploring the fantastic island of Kauai.

Perfect place on Kauai close to everything.

If you are looking for a home away from home in Kauai where you truly feel like family, then Waiohai is the place for you.

Next thing I knew I was flat on my back with my daughter kneeling over me.

The 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit was absolutely perfect for our family of 4 with 2 teenagers.

She is so friendly and helpful - the kids loved her.

We were traveling with a toddler so we asked for a crib and a microwave and we were grateful that they brought them to us fairly quickly.

The first room (looking over the pool/grounds in front side of Hale 4)  had Very Comfortable beds and we slept like babies (or rocks?).

There are a large number of free (or nominal fee) daily activities including Bamboo pole fishing which our kids loved — the staff for this event was really above and beyond warm and welcoming.

The staff that arrange the activities for the kids are the best!!

The staff were good and my wife, daughter and granddaughters enjoyed a few of the activities they provide including yoga and Leigh making.

The kids loved the pool and we spent a lot of time at the beach snorkeling and wake surfing.

but we always sleep better with A/C) and within easy walking distance to a beach with swimming and snorkeling safe for our kids.

The activities coordinator was calling our kids by name by the end of the first day - we loved Jacqueline!

It's a great property and well worth the minor inconvenience of seeing a few kids.

My older nephew who LOVES fish totally enjoyed the koi-feeding every morning.

The adult pool is nice and quiet, even during summer months when the place is loaded with kids.

My daughter enjoyed feeding the koi fish and I loved making a lei.

The grounds were very beautiful and we enjoyed the adult pool because it was quiet and we were able to relax and swim as a family (adult children).

Wonderful pools and hot tubs, child friendly.

Instead of treating me fairly and and covering my medical expenses, (I asked for nothing more) they chose to say that it was my fault that I fell on the wet flagstone and basically called me a liar.

We booked through Redweek and were not informed about the $22 taxes and parking fee added each day x7 for the week,

The property was not sold out and this was a deliberate attempt to force people into a time share presentation instead of giving the rate that Paulette promised.

If in fact you want to stay at this resort (which I would not recommend) I would pay less for a garden view room which is much prettier than what we got for an ocean view.

It’s my opinion that that is the only way that I would stay here is the price seems a little extravagant.

I mean, we know that Hawaii's expensive, we know that Marriott is a thriving for profit organization,

Don't worry about any of that, you are on vacation"  So the big complaint that is legitimate is the view and positioning of the units vis-à-vis the Ocean view versus the cost you may have to pay.

Beware beach bar drinks are high priced and not very strong.

The downside - Marriott has started to charge parking at many properties on top of the high maintenance fees - I think this is ridiculous as an owner (at another location) myself

The only issue, which took 3 days to resolve, was the fact that we paid for an ocean view room and got a view of the parking lot.

I was told that my rate would change if I were to continue making noise and that any guests in the room who weren’t registered would be kicked out.

If you rent nightly it is a bit pricey and I rated it luxury

After searching for a few minutes, she said the Marriott was all booked up and all she could do for me was find me a room at one of their partner hotels, Koloa Landing Resort, for which I would have to pay full price for.

It isn't cheap, quite expensive even with the discounts we got so expect to pay £200-£300 per night.

Nothing negative can be said about this property except for maybe the high price.

It made more economic sense to pay for the extra night we weren't using, than to pay for 4 nights at the higher rate,

There is walkability to the beach in front of the resort, as well as to the nearby shopping center and restaurants ( 4 minutes walk).

There are a myriad of activities available and lots of restaurants nearby that would be among our favourites if they were in our hometown.

But, there are a number of really good restaurants within 5 minutes.

The hotel has one restaurant, which was actually very good and had delicious drinks.

Good golf  locally, and many food options, or cooking and blending in your own villa.

The poolside restaurant overlooks the ocean and was super convenient.

but we had a full kitchen to cook in with all the needed supplies to prepare a meal.

We opted to try their Thanksgiving dinner; it was a reasonable fee and quite yummy.

They also close down all of the open barbecue pit areas and forced everyone to use the most closed in smallest barbecue pit area near building seven.

Lots of BBQ’s if you want to cook and great kitchens in the rooms so that was a big plus too.

The property is well-stocked with lawn-games, ping-pong, BBQ's, and other things to do.

Nice refrigerator in room so i could store my own snacks and beer.

Loads more to say, could go on, we had an ocean view room which was nice, do the farmers market in Koloa, bought Sugarloaf Pineapple for $12 which was lovely.

It s a beautiful location overlooking the ocean Poipu beach is very nice.

It was a great ocean view on a high floor.

Saw monk seals & sea turtles each morning, watched surfers, and snorkeled each day!

The views are gorgeous and accommodations so comfortable.

It was nice as far as hotel rooms go, A little balcony with a small ocean view.

So you are prepared when you arrive and knowingly stay and are generally ok with a parking lot view.

Most of the ocean view rooms only give a partial view over a parking lot.

In the end the new room looked at exactly the same place as the first room, and was set back further from the ocean than the first room.

We had a Very Nice ocean view from this Hale.

We forgot what a wonderful property it is -- so much space (at the pools, several different grassy areas), the beach is fabulous, so many sea turtles and monk seals out, it was fantastic (even with some bad weather).

The resort is very nice and most villas have a nice view.

Be sure to request ocean/beach or pool view when you book your stay.

We have an every other year ocean view timeshare.

The room was supposed to be a "motel" unit,

I can only speak for the motel rooms here:  the rooms are small, one window with a ceiling fan and no air conditioning.

No a/c, so we had to keep the filthy windows open to get any air and there was enough space around the screen windows to let insects in.

There is no air conditioner, no fans, nothing to move the stale air.

The fridge (no freezer) is anemic, expect cooling not cold.

No A/C made for warm sleeping in mid July.

They really dance when the ceiling fan is on.

Small fridge, small closet-type space, small table, small bathroom, small AC.

They did bring fresh towels when we asked and the hair dryer blew up and they brought us another one.

Since there was no air conditioning, our windows were open so we could hear everything from the cabins around us - crying children, conversations, laughter.

They also have a pizza place and would definitely recommend just getting takeaway pizza and taking it to the bar to have with a beer where the service was great

On site restaurant, snack bar, saloon, gift shop.

The gift selections are excellent., and you can mail postcards at a window/drop slot right near the bar.

The location aside, it's 5 STAR, the only thing this place needs is a sit down - walk up gathering place bar that is open late.

The bar was also nice; the little store/cafe was very lame.

The property was well-staffed despite COVID-19 and made provisions for the situation (bar service was take-away, the deli had to-go options, and the dining room was running normally with some table spacing).

There's a large, and attractive, dining room, an auditorium that serves a buffet, a deli and a bar.

Coffee shop and snack bar were excellent as well.

The options are the main dining room, a deli, and a morning coffee spot that becomes a bar at night.

but did what we needed it too when hiking was our priority

Great location for hiking the north rim

The North rim was one of my highlights of the entire trip, the view from the main lodge is just outstanding and better yet, not too busy (unlike the South side) Do make a reservation for dinner as it gets booked up quickly, the saloon bar was fun and great for a drink or two..

Our Western Cabin was a short walk to the lodge’s dining room, the saloon, and the snack bar.

We ordered a pizza from the deli and got coffee at the bar, and it all worked out great.

Prices in bar and restaurant inevitably high,

The Rim was a stones throw away and we enjoyed the nearby trails, the night time stars, the saloon bar and the restaurant at the lodge.

The Pines snack bar and yummy pizza was a nice late snack.

You're also close to the Lodge, where you'll find great food, a cool bar and a pizza place.

I guess the adjoining cabin uses same heater and there was no hot water for my shower.

The only word for the bathroom floor is filthy, even having used soap disc on the floor.

No soap or shampoo in the dispensers and 1/2 roll of toilet paper.

No tissues in the dispenser, and only 1 keurig coffee for the 2 of us.

They had run out of liquid soap & Kleenex, and only a thin blanket on each bed was not enough warmth for fall.

Very dated, dirty, no lighting, and the bathroom is incredibly small / filthy / nonfunctional.

We lowered expectations based on other TA, when we entered Cabin 510 we said WOW,  place looked great see pics, completely CLEAN,  no sign of mice,  bathroom clean even front porch with rocking chairs looked like they were wiped down plus we had great view of canyon.

It is clear that Aramark has made some more recent updates to the rooms such as new paint and new tiles in the bathrooms,

I'm not going to mention the tiny bathroom because it all seems insignificant next to the fact that we had at least one mouse, and mice can carry Hantavirus and Plague.

The shower is small and in the corner and the toilet area is almost impossibly small.

I’m about 270lbs and only just fit my shoulders in the toilet nook as it’s so narrow.

Called reception who sent out someone who explained it was monsoon season and as roof not maintained there was a leak!

Bugs in tub, broken faucet popped off the wall when i went to wash the bugs down the drain.

We were expecting the amenities to be limited, as typical for remote locations like this and Havasupai Lodge for example.

You stay in old log cabins with very few amenities:  no wifi, no tv, mostly no cell signal and worst of all the hot water either did not work or took 5 minutes of running to get.

We walked out to Bright Angel Point each morning to see the sunrise.

There is one walk from the lodge that is paved, Bright Angel Point.

And best for last: Fantastic views of the Grand Canyon and particularly the Bright Angel Fault from the veranda at the Lodge, and similarly impressive views from Bright Angel Point which is very close to the Lodge.

but are very well situated (we stayed in 310 awhile back); 304 is indeed on the rim, but also adjacent to the often noisy East Terrace of the Lodge; 307 is fine, but rather exposed to gawkers headed to/from Bright Angel Point; 305/306 have super unobstructed views and imho are the most desirable in the park.

I watched the sunrise before going back to the lodge and doing the short walk to Bright Angel Point.

What a way to enjoy a glass of beer/wine or a cocktail sitting in a big chair as the sun goes down, and if you are up for an unforgettable sunrise, Bright Angel Point is less than 20 minutes down a  trail that begins at the lodge.

The view from the front porch was  very nice and it was just a short walk to the lodge and the Bright Angel Point trail.

On the plus side, apart from the spectacular views from the Lodge, there are a couple of nice walks from the Lodge to Bright Angel Point and the Transept.

From our porch with the amazing and gorgeous view, I eavesdropped on several elderly, obese or inappropriately attired people as they walked down the Bright Angel Point trail complaining about the lack of amenities.

The Bright Angel Point Trail begins from here, also.

Built in 1928 by architect Gilbert Stanley Underwood, the Lodge is constructed of timber and Kaibab limestone that makes up the cliff at Bright Angel Point.

Rockers on Lodge Patio or stiff hike down to Bright Angel Point for Sunrise or Sunset.

Nested right at the edge of the North Rim, right next to Bright Angel Point, the Lodge offers a lodging experince of other times

It only took us a few minutes to walk out to Bright Angel Point and we could be in the main lodge building within seconds.

And the view at Bright Angel Point was just fantastic, all day long, from sunrise to sunset.

Cabins are closer than the motel rooms to Bright Angel Point a short hike to view the planet from on top.

Now, the key bit: perfect access to rimside walks, some very easy in terms of distances, like the Bright Angel Point trail.

We were short walk from the lodge, the lodge terrace, and Bright Angel Point.

You are steps away from Bright Angel Point and the Transept Trail, from which we had spectacular views at sunrise and sunset.

And for those wondering about phone connectivity, I could get 1-2 bars via Verizon on most of the grounds, and nearly four bars out at Bright Angel Point.

Family if 6 stayed in pioneer cabin - one queen, twin bunk and futon.

The cabin was the perfect size for our family of five and our kids enjoyed the bunk beds.

The other room had 2 bunk beds and a futon.

They were kind enough to take the bunk beds room.

The twin beds were bunk beds, which we didn’t anticipate, and the queen was a futon on a bumpy log frame.
