No heater in the double room, so you have to use the aircon to keep yourself warm.

Temperature dropped to 4 deg C at night and there was no heater or electric blanket.

But feat not, they have an electric heater for the blanket which made it so comfortable.

Somehow the electric heater in the room, while looks very nice, was not very functional in both our rooms.

One problem was that it was *freezing* at night and the heater in the room was absolutely useless.

There was heater blanket only for the main Queen bed & not on the additional single bed.

Room with toiletries, hot & cold drinking water, hot shower, heater bed, balcony, natural air-con!

Almost all the other minsu don't come with heater.

I agree with the previous reviewer that the lack of a room heater was hard to manage considering we were also there in December.

However the initial disappointment dissipated as soon as i learn to use the heater and warmer blanket.

Nothing special in the room except the heater blanket which is a plus point at night

At about 5am we reached He Huan Shan and it was freezing cold, 5 degrees only and so dark!

but seriously, why do you need it when it is so cooling up in the mountains????

Most of the lights were not working, the sofa was broken and the standing fans were not working well.

There was no heater in the room and we did not know there was an electric blanket until we overheard the other guests talking about it (on our way to hot spring).

We ended up shivering at the end of our showers and it was below 10 degrees that night.

One of the few down sides is bath tub is not that stable to stand inside to have shower.

Water pressure is low, so do not throw paper into the toilet bowl as we experienced chokage in one of our quad room.

Amenities were basic and could be improved.

Also the small bath tub in the luxury double was wobbly and quite hard to shower, will actually be nice if they install shower curtains to keep the water from wetting the rest of the toilet (whereby the tiles are quite slippery).

As there was no shower curtain or separated bathing area, the bathroom floor tends to get wet.

The toilet is big with a pretty classical bathtub which is not very practical cos the floor around it will get wet after each bath.

A bath would render the whole toilet wet too.

Just wear the rubber slippers provided or shower before going out so it will be dry when you get back.

However, do take note that there may be bugs in the bathroom, as the minsu is surrounded by the forest.

No worries with moving around in the toilet.

There're 7-11, MOS Burger, Starbucks, Hotpot restaurant, Old England Café, small food stall, stall selling chocolates, limited winter wear in one of the souvenir shop, Lavender theme shop!

The only thing that I don't like is the bathroom.

This would in fact be the reason why I am only giving 4 stars for this review, as I think at least a portable room heater for the winter months would be good if they wanted to prevent abuse of usage (cingjing is a very eco area), as showering for tourists in a non-heated room is a nightmare since we aren't used to the cold.

However the bathroom could do better if more heat could be transferred to it.

The hot spring bath is not a natural setting

Location was ideal, near 7-11/Swiss Garden and walking distance to Carton King.

Forget about Canton King, the steamboat sets sucks with all the frozen food.

We booked 2 rooms (a family room & twin room for 6 of us).

but the electric blanket will keep you warm when you snuggle in bed. :)

The bed is comfortable and as we were there during winter season, it was really cold.

The bed comes with heated blanket so we were kept quite warm :) 

The place is wheelchair friendly, the stairs between their first floor (lobby), second floor (dining area) and third floor (lowest rooms) have automatic stair lift.

Had a night stay @ Misty villa where location is very convenient with just 5 minutes walk from 7-11/starbucks/mos burger and tourist attractions such as little swiss garden and cardboard king.

The room has a cosy and homely feel with heated bed.

Mingsu is conveniently located near Little Swiss Garden and Carton King.

Was given a pleasant surprise as they upgraded us to a family room with 2 big double bed when we arrived.

I had arranged for dinner with the villa during my first stay whilst I had dinner at a restaurant at another bed and breakfast this time round - find that misty dinner is more homely and preferred it!

Modern design, nice materials, mixed with jap bedding (comfortable).

The room came with 2 king sized beds, 2 pillows each person, humongous washroom, spacious balcony facing the balcony, dressing table, a very comfortable lounge chair, a coffee table and a fake fire place.

Nice sheets and really cozy.heated beds were really helpful in this cold climate.

We had booked Misty Villa because of its location, which is just a five minute walk from Little Swiss Garden and Carton King.

N being near Starbucks, means its oso near Carton King & Swiss garden (whichare just opp starbucks).

Just across road u find carton king -had dinner 1st night (spend min nt300 free tix to swiss garden).

For breakfast they have a buffet, for dinner it's a fixed menu, no choice

The breakfast at the mingsu appeared to repeat itself during our 2 nights’ stay

The minsu is located in close proximity to places of attraction like the Cingjing farm and the Little Swiss Garden.

When we reached Little Swiss Garden where we were supposed to meet, we called them up and the staff from Misty Villa agreed to pick us there in 5 minutes over the phone.

Good location near Swiss garden and other convenience shops.

Located in the vicinity of the main shopping area of Cingjing, this villa is within walking distance to 7-11, Carton King, Little Swiss Garden, MOS burger, Starbucks etc.

Another side of the road, you'll find Little Swiss Garden, Carton King Shop, Carton King Restaurant & 7-11 as well.

Location was very convenient, 5-10mins walk to the Swiss Garden & Carton King.

Can get slightly cheaper entrance ticket to Swiss Garden from Misty Villa.

Dinner was simple, nice and very adequate with a small price tag.

It fit the requirements of All, most impt is near to 7-11, mos burger as in CINGJING there’s no transport late at night

We had a steamboat dinner at the mingsu during our first night and it is really enjoyable to have a hot steamboat in the cold weather.

They even have baby walkers for the babies to use, baby bath tub and prepared porridge for my baby’s dinner.

Paid for dinner option & I highly recommend it, and it was quite a feast!

We have a free dinner as well and the dinner was sumptuous!

They even provided us with a sumptuous dinner as returning guests, & free ticket to the Skywalk.

Location is excellent - near to the foodie places such as 7-11, mos burger and starbucks. Only setback is it is located up slope and you have to be be prepared to climb (a lot of stairs!)

They also provided dinner (payable) which is similar to Asian home-cooked food.

For people who can't climb a lot of stairs, this is not the place to be.

Our luggage are carried to the room by their staff and saved us the effort to lug them up while climbing the stairs to the room.

Otherwise you can also view it from the breakfast area :)

Do note there is a steep slope up to Misty, and if your room is located at the upper levels you will have to take the stairs.

There are a lot of stairs ( no lifts ) so elderly travellers do take note. We accidentally left our ipad at a cafe nearby and the lady boss(?)

Owner upgraded 2 of our rooms so that my family of 7 can stay on the same 2nd floor (2 flight of stairs from the lobby) as there is only 1 double room on the 2nd floor which has a small soak tub.

Due to my parents’ old age, it was difficult for them to climb up the stairs to the third level in one of the minsu’s buildings.

Would suggest to bring an overnite bags Instead of luggage cos of uneven, steep path and stairs and more stairs depending on which floor u are staying.

For old folks choose the lower level rooms to reduce the climbing of stairs.

The Luxury Double Room which we stayed in was located pretty high up, so we had to climb/walk about 40 - 50 steps of stairs.

But the only problem is the need to climb many stairs and up elevated slopes.

The number & flight of stairs to climb up n down to the dining area was alot!

Those who cannot walk long flight stairs shd choose lower floors.

That also meant a lot of stairs up and down each time.

Each and every time we scaled up the stairs, we would literally collapse on the floor after we reach the room.

Since the minsu is located on higher ground, do expect a lot of stairs to your room.

Really no joke to walk up the stairs to the 3rd floor as the air is thin and will get breathless real quick.

The only issue would be the stairs, especially if you were to be housed on level 3.

We slept about 9pm and families coming back were making alot of noises and you can literally hear them climbing up the stairs to level 2 and 3.

When we reached our destination, we had to climb up a steep slope (good work for the hips) and eight flights of stairs to get to our room on the top level.

To enter the room will require climbing up the various stairs, and the staffs immediately assisted us with the lugagges withing being asked.

Sofa is quite dirty with many stains, and you can tell the B&B was in a pretty old condition looking at the toilet and interior.

The toilet for the 2 bedder was very much left to be desired.

Was mostly affected by the toilets, which didn't flush well.

Our bathroom had a problem of water leaking out from beneath the shower partition, so we feedback to the lady boss and she passed us extra floor mats, and said that they will fix it because the previous contractor didn't do a good job.

The rooms were quite dated especially the bathroom.

One thing to note would be the toilet (especially the one in the triple room), which was, frankly, old and needs work.

But bathroom can be abit cold especially the tap water.

The only negative thing is there's a sewage smell when the toilet is flushed.

We did not even wash ourselves as it’s far too cold to bathe in the toilet.

The toilet was pretty noisy after we shower.

However there were times when the water pressure was not strong when flushing.

The bed is a bit hard to our preference and the toilet calls for some revamp.

The toilets were quite dirty with spider web.. cockroach was seen inside the room.

If there is one part they could improve, it would probably be the toilet as it seems slightly old.

but not so convenient for the kids as the stairs are very steep and toilet is only at the ground.

Secondly, the bathroom was old and in need of a refurbishment.

However, I absolutely could not stand the bathroom, which shows its age in more ways than one.

Toilet could be better or use some upgrading.

.unpleasant smell, water leaking from the bathtub etc.

We had to use a small pail to pour water after using the toilet.

The supply of hot water was erratic - my partner ran out after 5 minutes in the shower as the water suddenly turned freezing.

Breakfast spread was the same the 2 days we were there.

Breakfast is simple Chinese porridge and you can add your on condiments like peanuts, pork floss, pickled vegetables.

Enjoyed the breakfast though it was just a simple traditional Taiwan porridge

The breakfast consisted of Taiwanese porridge with a good selection of dishes plus bread, magarine and jam.

The rooms are full of worms and bugs - does not seem to have any cleaning down.

Our room didnt have any view to speak of, and as of any outdoor resorts, you will have to used to the bugs flying around in the room as well.

When i bought up the matter, lady boss and staff commented that cockroach is such a cute animal, why will you kill it. ?

Due to location, they do not have well functioned heater and the water can be freezing cold at times.

but it was too cold to even get close to the balcony, ha.

There is no need for any air con as it is cold.

It has basic necessities and has no air conditioning as the place is already cold to begin with.

even though the outside was a cold 10 degrees.

For just the two of us, we were given a cold appetizer, steamed fish, steamed chicken (like those you get for chicken rice in Singapore), stir-fried green veg, and radish soup and of course unlimited supply of white rice!

I still prefer cotton towels that drys well, especially if the weather is cold.

Something to do with the water pipe I guess.

only thing is the hot water may not be so hot so avoid bathing at night if possible.

Shower mixer was a little broke, setting could turn hot to freezing cold after on/off.

The room can be a bit cold as the only heater they provided is the blanket.

No heater in room so its always very cold in there.

Room is not fitted with heater and water were icy cold as well.

I was very disappointed to realise that the rooms are not equipped with a heater as I thought all accommodation in countries with winter.

Air-conditioning wasn't needed at this place.

At Sunnydale, our room faced the beautiful landscape of the mountain and we were able to catch the sunrise from our balcony in the morning.The dinner and breakfast provided by the host were freshly cooked and thus it is hot and delicious.

This hotel is best view and easy access by bus.

But the bus only runs once hourly, so catch it or wait.

Arranged for the Taiwan Ok bus to send us to the door of Sunnydale from Sun Moon Lake and we had a warm welcome from the staff, providing assistance and info on how to get around and points of interest.

and the location is good as well, around 10-15min walk to 国民宾馆/游客中心 and from there has direct bus to 青青草原.

I gave it 3 points because of the view, breakfast and shuttle bus driver's friendliness, otherwise it would be two.

You would need to either take the taxis or the buses which we didn't have a clue how to.

The boss of Sunnydale, Mr Franky sent us to the QingJing Farm and taught us how to walk back/take bus back to the hostel.

The Nantou bus stops just right outside, and the journey takes around 1h40mins from Taichung HSR.

Sunnydale provided excellent instructions; to take a Nan Tou bus of which we alighted at 寿亭 busstop right outside the hotel.

They even offered to send us to our destinations when they saw us waiting for bus to go up the hill.

There is a bus stop right at the door of the minsu, so getting there from TaiChung was easy.
