although this hotel looks really nice, due to the poor service, inedible evening meals and poorly laid out sauna and pool we will not be staying here again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

but wind did not permit this as a lot of the lifts were closed due to storms.

The only problem we had, was that we had to let our belts out a notch by the end of the week, due to the irresistible food!!!

The spa facilities were clean and beautifully designed as was the gym and other facilities.

The hotel was absolutely fantastic, a great room to accommodate a family of 5, very helpful staff (helped us retrieve lost property on a bus), great spa facilities.

Friendly staff, amazing food, great facilities, the ski bus is extremely close to the hotel, impeccable rooms!

There were tea and coffee making facilities

Then there is a decent sized indoor pool that it suitable for swimming, plus a spa and relaxation room.

The spa, pool and fitness facilities are top notch!

We had a great time skiing and the facilities the hotel offered were just right for us.

This is a top class hotel with excellent facilities (excellent food, an outside swimming pool with amazing views on snow covered mountains, very comfortable, spacious and quiet bedrooms) and very friendly and helpful staff.

It has a good small gym plus some gym classes if you don’t like to ski very much.

Spa facilities after a hard days skiing include jacuzzis, 3 types of saunas and both heated indoor and outdoor pools.

The hotel had excellent spa facilities, swimming pools and gym.

There is a well equipped play room for the children and the spa area is bright, clean and has fabulous views of the mountains.

Gym is really OK and provides for all basic machines you need.

First class spa facilities, outdoor pool with super views, great saunas, steam room, relaxation area.

Long established family run spa hotel with personal service and great facilities.

Our waiter Sebastian was lovely and all the staff were friendly and helpful.

All the staff there are friendly and very helpful, would certainly recommend this hotel for both winter and summer holidays.

Service was outstanding – a special mention for our superb waitress Danka who was brilliant and so friendly – I think from other comments that all the staff are brilliant.

Everything about this Hotel is amazing, great friendly Staff who do anything to ensure your stay is comfortable, fantastic food with 6 course dinner, buffet breakfast and even fresh cakes in the afternoon.

On the other side, the bathroom in our room was a little bit odd, surrounded by some glass wall, it does not offer the privacy of a traditional closed bathroom,

however, I mainly drank the "very drinkable" House Gruner Veltliner as I am not much of a connoisseur and then finished off with a glass of dessert wine.

Considering we had a couple of glasses of wine with dinner most nights and then a couple of drinks in the bar after as well as the odd drink when we got in from skiing we didn't think our bill was too bad at about 200 euros for 2 of us for the week.

A few tips – Graukogel was dreadful (very little snow and really shouldn’t have been open); try out the model cable car drinks delivery at the outside bar at the Aereostadl near the top of the funicular; the outside area at the Weitmoser hut has been upgraded with another glass box with sofas, cushions, etc.

To the right of the sink was another frosted glass panel, the other side of which was the (wonderfully hot and powerful) shower - again, no door.

There was one catch - in our part of the hotel the rooms all had new looking bathrooms made with lots of glass.

Only limitations we found were that the outside pool was only open from about 3pm - disappointing for our non skier.

Just make sure that the room door closes when leaving the room, with doors being of heavy wood they tend to stay open unless you really check.

You really had to keep every door and window open.

Opening the sliding door you swim out into the open air and enjoy the warm water whilst the air temperature is sub-zero.

She didn't go into any of the rooms at that time as not once did we hear a door open or close.

Russian guy brought a less then a year old baby to a sauna, Brits were jumping all over the same area screaming about their sporty achievements, some Russian girls were entering different sauna areas each minute, someone left the sauna door wide open.

The thermal outdoor pool was wonderful after a day’s skiing, there is also an indoor pool and sauna which we didn’t use.

The spa area is worthy of a visit, indoor and outdoor pool, saunas, steam room and relaxation areas plus treatment rooms for massages which can be booked (At Cost)

The owner is an artist and has lots of his large canvases around the hotel which are beautiful.

The food for breakfast and for dinner varied and delicious and absolutely loads of it, and it was quite a treat to be able to come off the slopes for ‘Scooby snax’ of soup and cakes before you settle down for your early evening Snooze followed by a swim in the glorious outdoor thermal pool.

We enjoyed the pool after skiing every day and looked forward to the evening meal which did not disappoint.

The outdoor thermal pool is a must, even when it's snowing, very refreshing after a day on the slopes.

Staff were friendly, spa was amazing and the outside pool was big enough to get a decent swim.

It was very clean, The outdoor pool is great, quite big, the indoor one is also o.k.,

The pools are heated, and the heated outdoor pool is fantastic for a evening swim.

The outdoor pool also had amazing views of mountains.

We also enjoyed the pool and sauna after a day on the slopes.

The facilities are very good such as the pool and spa area.

We also enjoyed our dips in the bubble pool and the outdoor thermal pool after our day on the slopes even when it was -10 outside - so relaxing for aching muscles!

Spa facilities were as you might expect at a quality hotel.

One of our party tried the massage services for an injury, which he said helped enormously.

It was wonderful swimming around in the dark, looking up at the piste bashers working on the slopes, with the steam rising up from the pool.

The are 4 types of saunas to choose from.

We much liked the nice Austrian tradition of free afternoon soup and cakes, which is just great when returning from the slopes, before enjoying the spa.

The reception staff were really really wonderful and nothing was too much trouble.

All the staff were helpful and cheery especially the reception staff.

The team at the hotel were extremely helpful, and what was particularly good was that the prices for drinks were very reasonable so you didn’t feel the need to go off elsewhere.

You can even buy your ski pass at reception to save you from queuing!

Hotel owner even took the trouble to come and talk to us one evening and make sure everything was ok.

The hotel is well run, the staff was great, and very helpful, we were greeted with warmth as soon as we arrived.

The staff without exception were all charming and keen to be helpful.

The staff were without exception really pleasant and helpful - especially Sebastjan.

They were really accommodating as two of us are fussy vegetarians.

but guided equivalent of red runs in other countries but your in safe hands with the instructors, would definitely return, resort quiet compared to other apres ski areas (as per guided by our friends) but perfect for us.

Finally, the pool, sauna and spa facilities were a lovely bonus, and provided a special relaxation area at the end of a long day's skiing.

The real fire in the lounge area is a welcome touch to return to after a day out on the slopes.

I've attached a number of image's as it's difficult to describe just what a guest can expect from this superb hotel, I hope it whet's the appetite of anyone considering a trip to this area.

Great experience, super kind service (thanks Corina, Sandra, Lisl, Sonia, Jamil, Martin, Martin and the other team members), very nice breakfast and evening meals (as well for the children as for us), great afternoon cakes & snacks, clean rooms with nice view on the Rauris Valley, good info on the walks in the neighbourhood & guide Martin, clean swimming pool and this within a unique area (where we had 8 days of warm weather (above 25°C) and even snow in August !

The hotel is just as described and I loved the external sauna and wellness area.

We stayed as a party of 7, and were delighted with the high quality of accom, food, spa, bar area and overall friendliness of the owners & their staff.

Large Ski storage area adjacent to the bus stop, no steps to drag your skis up!

The lounge and bar areas have many interesting artefacts and pictures.

The spa area and swimming pool are lovely and relaxing.

The wellness area is really nice as well.

There is also a indoor pool, sauna, steam rooms available in a set apart underground area.

Maybe the hotel is too large or was too busy

Waiters are more busy with taking away dirty dishes than taking care of the guests arriving at the table: 10 minutes waiting before someone asking for the drinks.

However, not once did we hear any noise in our room, despite the fact that the bar was usually quite busy.

This meant the resort and the hotel was very busy.

The skiing was great for "advanced beginners" and moderate intermediates and despite the crowds at Salzburg airport, the slopes were not too busy and hardly any queues for the ski lifts (presumably most people went elsewhere).

This was very disappointing as I love stepping into a whirlpool after a day on the slopes and have never experienced a one as cold as this anywhere else.

Breakfast was hot and cold buffet with cooking station for omelettes and eggs and bacon.

The pool was lovely, if a little on the cold side.

The only downside was the swimming pool a tad to cold for my liking needs to be a few degrees warmer!

however the rest of us thought that it was a little too cold, which was a little disappointing, my eldest daughter and myself preferred to use the extensive steam and saunas which were amazing and very relaxing on a cautious note my daughter did not realise that our german guests prefer to use these naked much to her horror!

It was lovely to see how well they catered for the children with their own menu, Breakfasts were again excellebnt , hot and cold and amble choice and I nearly forgot at 3pm there were not only cakes

Even if you don’t ski, as well as the hotel facilities there are activities organised for free such as snowshoe waking in the national park at the top of the valley (amazing) and walks down the valley from the hotel.

There are also some great winter walking trails with equipment and advice provided by the hotel.

The swimming pool and surrounding area is lovely

The spa facilities are very good with two saunas, a steam room, infra red cabin and a good sized pool with a jacuzzi.

There is a lovely pool, spa and gym, tennis court and walking tours, plus wonderful scenery

Spa facilities are available to all guests which are superb and very welcoming after a day on the slopes.

The spa facilities are amazing and so relaxing after a day of skiing, the food that they provide is of the highest standard and my compliments to the kitchen & restaurant team as they really know how to make an amazing meal.

The Rauriserhof is a large, well-appointed hotel with pool, gym, sauna and tennis courts on the edge of Rauris town.

The standard of this hotel, it's traditionally dressed staff, it's incredible food, it's leisure and fitness offer is of the very best we have ever experienced.

The spa and swimming pool are great to stretch muscles and relax.

Bus stopped right outside hotel and dropped of at ski lifts buses ran every 30 mins 
The hire shop was very efficient and we got our ski hire equipment easily.

Also has a gym, sauna and relaxation rooms

Managed to enjoy some of the wellness facilities too which was enjoyable, especially the outside sauna when it was snowing.

The food was excellent, location fabulous - just a 10 minute walk to the nursery slopes- and has great spa facilities.

Our daughter loved the swimming pool and play room.

Could not find fault at all with great food and drink, great facilities, pool, bar etc., etc.

Staff were by and large very friendly and helpful.

The family run hotel is very hands on & both the family & their staff are very friendly, courteous and professional.

The hotel is very clean, comfortable and cosy, food was great and the owners(The Mayer family) and staff were friendly and helpful at all times.

The service is very friendly and mostly efficient; for critical issues double check as I found myself on one of my visits at 0530 waiting in vain for taxi that they had forgotten to order.

Hotel was very friendly, cosy atmosphere and very clean.

Check in fast, efficient and friendly by Steffie who took care with all our travel questions and helped us plan our touring routes.

It is a very pleasant hotel, and the owners and staff are friendly and helpful.

We felt completely comfortable taking off our skis, boots and wet clothes, leaving them in the boot room before sitting in the hotel bar in thermals drinking more local schnapps and beer.

We loved the outdoor pool for a morning swim and the food is 5 star too .

The facilities are extensive - a spa, indoor pool and (my favourite) a heated outdoor pool with fabulous views on both sides of the valley.

One of the stand out features of the Hotel was the heated outside pool.

Amazing hotel, superb friendly staff, great aminaties  sauna, swimming pool and spa if required.

We are just back from our two week stay in this delightful hotel ( our third visit) where the welcome is warm,and the food and accommodation excellent.We made good use of the equally excellent indoor pool, and were particularly impressed by the ever cheerful (and knowledgeable) Martin who led the daily hiking trips in the valleys' and mountains' which surround.If we do have a criticism, it is that there no longer appears to be a minimum dress code for dinner.We 
are fond of casual eating,

Service at the hotel is excellent and staff exceptional, staff setting very good standards for a 4*.

It is one of the best, warm and most welcoming hotel I ever been to.

The hotel offers the services of a helpful and knowledgeable mountain guide, Martin, who conducts guided walks, cross-country skiing and snowshoe walking for, it seems, just the cost of the equipment hire.

The food, the staff, the rooms, the ambience are all absolutely excellent - this is still very deservedly the best hotel in Rauris.

But I do have to compliment the staff and I feel a personal thanks should go to all on reception, to David and the bar staff, our main waitress Stephanie.

Every breakfast we had a print out on our table (like a small newspaper) with description of the weather, places to visit in the Gastein valley in case you don't go skiing, some interesting activities, like curling, сross-country skiing and others.

In any case, we understand it will be completely renovated in time for the ski season.

Normally we don't make our choice of hotel by the reviews,but in this case we were really  surprised to see that most of them were excellent!

but has still sufficient parking spaces (which is not elsewhere the case in Bad Hofgastein).The station for the bus to go to the skiing areas is round the corner, thus you practically don't need your car.

Hotel Bismarck offers luxurious rooms and even exclusive suites which have been recently been renovated in an elegant Austrian style (we were so thrilled being allowed to stay in one, exceptional!)

Breakfast is buffet style in the morning, with fresh eggs cooked to order.

The rooms are well decorated and very comfortable.

Chef blended Austrian and international cuisine in a very enjoyable way.

I prefer family atmosphere, big spa, cleanless and amazing kitchen.. it real heaven.

The hotel has a very cozy ambience - the lighting is next to romantic and the wooden panels and wooden floors cooperate with this feeling.

If you are looking for a reasonable hotel with the best accommodations, food, views, ambiance, wellness center, service and location look no longer, you found the BEST.

Everything is bright, in nice materials and clean.

Recently renovated modern-twist spacious alpine style rooms, hotel also offers adult-only pools and spa and sauna area (do mind the slippery floors)

The food is outstanding, especially the dinners feels like dining in 3 star Michelin restaurant.

We possibly enjoyed some of the best snow conditions and the village and surroundings looked magical .

The food was exquisite, every meal was a delight, the Christmas Eve Dinner was the highlight and an amazing occasion.

Our room (it was a suite) was really big, with a large terrace and cozy furniture.

The room was equipped in modern style and with all the comfort you need.

but a little more modern in style now, but the same excellent quality, attention to detail, and great maid service.

The staff are extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, nothing is too much trouble.

The staff are really kind and friendly, the food is amazing and there are some social events during the week including a reception with the owners who take a personal interest in their guests.

The rooms are very clean thanks to the highly efficient and friendly cleaners, spacious and with a lot of wood, thus typically and beautifully Austrian.

but not how friendly and professionally the Wendler family and the many employees are and how delicious the meals are.Two weeks and we would still not be tired of hotel meals.
