Hotel was fabulous,staff very polite and helpful,

Boot room large and a pleasant surprise to put on warm boots in the mor,
Snow was fantastic,
Pool warm,just what you need after an exhausting day on the slopes,steam room was the icing on the cake for total relaxation,
Bus stop outside boot room ,buses were very regular and drivers very helpful

Was there with a group so with buffet half board.

You get given the same table for your family to have breakfast and dinner at.

The food was excellent, both the breakfast and dinner.

Breakfast was ok, on sunday with salmon and bubbles, good espresso from the machine!

The hotel is well equiped, the room is clean and spacious, the indoor swimming-pool area is fine, the food was very good the breakfast as well as the dinner.

You do not need to choose your main course at breakfast time.

The buffet food is good and the reception and facilities are spacious and fine for a weeks stay for skiing.

We had half board and found the buffets for both breakfast and dinner to really suit our needs - no waiting to order and loads of choice for every taste. We were pleased with our room, comfortable beds, strong hot shower, possible to regulate the radiators (handy for drying ski clothes!)

The staff are friendly and helpful, the breakfast and evening meals are of a very high standard and the rooms are spacious and clean.

Food was well above the standard I expected from a buffet and plenty of choice.

Hotel and rooms were very good, pristine room quiet with a nice view over the garden.Food is very good with a large choice for breakfast and then a buffet for dinner with a wide choice of salads and starter dishes, main course usually 3 meat dishes, a fish dish and a pasta and a choice of veg, desserts,ice creams and cheeses.You can pay 5.5 Euros to have free wine, beer and soft diners whilst you are at the dinner table.

Food was fine for breakfast with a very wide selection of cold dishes, breads and cereals.

From the skiing perspective, this was not a good week, due to the limited snow.

although large for a single, was too uncomfortable due to having a foam mattress with a protective cover which made me too hot to sleep soundly.

although due to the gorgeous food at the Palace we never ventured far from the hotel other than to the slopes.

Unfortunately, due to road conditions and lenght of the trip, I got there, with my colleagues at 8.30 p.m., time when the kitchen closes.

Prices are very high for the services and the quality of everything - rooms, food, equipment.

The hotel doesn’t even have a proper gym.

The hotel is big, like a palace and has lots of facilities to explore and make good use of.

The spa facilities are also a bonus and in addition there is good quality entertainment each evening.

The thermal facilities and saunas are ok.

If you found time to use the Spa, it was a valued facility.

Hotel has a great swimming and spa area with free towelling robes,

Ski & Boot room does not have enough racks for the skis and boot warmer does not have enough space for all the boots - simple thing to put right
No tea/coffee making facility's in the rooms.

The spa has a swimming pool area, and an Austrian mixed wellness area with saunas etc.

The ski storage, ski boot storage, pool, whirlpool and spa facilities were all first rate.

All inclusive buffet is good, facilities great with heated pool, saunas of all kinds, massages, mud and chocolate.

Any longer break would add weight on you or give you too many trips to the toilette or you'll end up with both.

There's a ski rental shop within the hotel which had a small selection of equipment for hire at reasonable prices.

Good size single rooms, good facilities incl swimming pool, spa and tennis, good restaurant with excellent service from Judith aka Speedy Gonzalez, Baracs and Kostas.

We enjoyed the luxury of staying for a week in this lovely hotel where the food was tasty and varied, the swimming pool and spa were great for relaxation after a hard day's skiing and the live music provided a pleasant background for listening or chatting with new friends.

I can't comment on the spa facilities in the hotel, as the snow was too good.

The pool was lovely, of a good size and with nice warm water.

The leisure area has a nice indoor pool with a hot tub next to it and the sauna and steam room area was great as long as you are happy to go in naked!

The pool and hot tub area is very nice and eases the muscles after a day skiing.

We did use both the indoor pool and spa areas both of which were spotless and to a very good standard.

I didn’t use the pool or any of the spa treatments

I liked the pool with its jet at the side to give tied muscles a massage.

Super food, large comfortable rooms, nice pool and spa area.

On 6 oo 7 evenings there was live music
The hotel has a great spa area with a large pool, jacuzzi, saunas etc all free for guests inc a towelling robe.

but the pool was quite nice with plenty of loungers.

Very good Spa area with 3 sauna's, relaxing area and swimming pool.

But, if you need functional hotel, with decent food, great pool, nice service, ski bus across the street and 8 minute walk into town, this could be your place.

The pool is really nice, with jets on one side for aching muscles.

That contains great slides and pool for kids,and relaxing suanas for adults.

Sauna is good; Swimmingpool looks also good (not visited), and all is more than good enough.

The saunas and steam bath were very nice indeed.

The lady looking after the area does a wonderful towel waving ceremony in one of the saunas each hour.

All the good experience was ruined by an unfortunate sauna imposition.

The hotel is also about a 8 min walk to the very large AlpinTherme spa.

It is a 4 star year round hotel, well maintained and run, and was a great location in the spa town of Badhofgastein.

I enjoyed the spa every evening after a hard day skiing.

The spa is Ok - nothing spectacular - and do remember you are in Austria so no clothes are allowed in the Saunas/Steam room etc.

When she asked whether she could have a different room, to not have to lift the stroller up and down the stairs all the time, she was reluctantly given another room, and being told that she should have told them ahead of time that she'd bring a stroller.

Even if there is an elevator, you have to use stairs to get there.

you can only get free wifi in the lounge, and in the reading area at the top of the stairs on the first floor.

We came down one night to another group on our table, there was no staff anywhere to be seen so waited 35 minutes to be told we were sat somewhere different as a big group had arrived that day.

The courses took place in the conference room with the tables placed against the walls.

Breakfast tables are no longer set in advance.

Of course nobody came to look for me, knocked on my door or checked the breakfast table (where I sat, completely unaware).

Facilities also good, with tennis, pool table, swimming, jacuzzi, saunas & steam rooms (naked). Though we both came down with a tummy bug during the stay (wiping out 2 days skiing & 3 days of meals!)

but ok.
As a single traveller I was placed on a table with one couple and two other single travellers, neither of them could speak English but all trying very hard to do so.

This meticulously maintained hotel boasts the most beautiful and exceptional comfortable rooms with incredible mountain views, cleanliness, absolutely delicious first class gourmet dining, wine and cheeses to die for, a well rounded breakfast buffet,  multiple pools, a spa, an outdoor thermal pool,  massages with the best trained massage therapists, relaxing evening events, music – and you are in the best location, quietly located just 5 minutes walking distance to the city and close to ski lifts!

The Friday evening starter or dessert buffet were highlights, especially the choice of white or milk chocolate fountain.

The food is excellent with a variety to choose from carefully selected menus, including very healthy options.

I required a gluten free diet and had advised the hotel in advance; every day I came down to breakfast to find warmed, flow wrapped gluten free bread already at our table.

There are normally two types to choose from, all equally delicious.

We really enjoyed the stay - very pleasant family hotel atmosphere - beautiful place , delicious food, fresh design of the rooms and after each trip to mountaintops - heated pools in a gorgeous garden available..! The owners come and great you at your diner table, the list of daily activities is endless (especially for non-skiers), that is without the spa-pools-play equipment at hand and the gastronomic diners that you get every night (once a week gala diner,  dessert buffet, European evening, etc), complemented by the welcoming bar (cake after ski??).

Breakfast offers all the options we expected with good choices for gluten and lactose free diets.

Breakfast and lunch is basically standard and you are provided with free drinks.

One evening every week there is a desert buffet with a chocolate fountain for those who like it and a Austrian specialities for those who like that.

The Bismarck meals are also wonderful - variety, healthy choices, beautiful ingredients, all skillfully prepared.

but not how friendly and professionally the Wendler family and the many employees are and how delicious the meals are.Two weeks and we would still not be tired of hotel meals.

The half board includes  lunch and afternoon cake (you pay for drinks) ad offers a wonderful range of buffet breakfast and a 5 course dinner.

The food offerings at breakfast, lunch and dinner are still exceeding our expectations.

The food is delicious, the rooms spacious and well-presented, the outlook is wonderful, and there is plenty to do in terms of walking, cycling, swimming, spa treatments, cable-cars, trips out, or simply sitting and relaxing in the sunshine and fresh air.

The food - great choice at breakfast, salat bufet at noon, desert in the afternoon  and served dinner.

We very much enjoyed the excellent choice at breakfast, the delicious sweets provided for free with the afternoon tea/coffee and the outstanding and very tasty 5 course menu served for dinner.

Every breakfast we had a print out on our table (like a small newspaper) with description of the weather, places to visit in the Gastein valley in case you don't go skiing, some interesting activities, like curling, сross-country skiing and others.

In any case, we understand it will be completely renovated in time for the ski season.

Normally we don't make our choice of hotel by the reviews,but in this case we were really  surprised to see that most of them were excellent!

but has still sufficient parking spaces (which is not elsewhere the case in Bad Hofgastein).The station for the bus to go to the skiing areas is round the corner, thus you practically don't need your car.

Hotel Bismarck offers luxurious rooms and even exclusive suites which have been recently been renovated in an elegant Austrian style (we were so thrilled being allowed to stay in one, exceptional!)

Breakfast is buffet style in the morning, with fresh eggs cooked to order.

The hotel has a very cozy ambience - the lighting is next to romantic and the wooden panels and wooden floors cooperate with this feeling.

If you are looking for a reasonable hotel with the best accommodations, food, views, ambiance, wellness center, service and location look no longer, you found the BEST.

Everything is bright, in nice materials and clean.

Recently renovated modern-twist spacious alpine style rooms, hotel also offers adult-only pools and spa and sauna area (do mind the slippery floors)

The food is outstanding, especially the dinners feels like dining in 3 star Michelin restaurant.

We possibly enjoyed some of the best snow conditions and the village and surroundings looked magical .

The food was exquisite, every meal was a delight, the Christmas Eve Dinner was the highlight and an amazing occasion.

Our room (it was a suite) was really big, with a large terrace and cozy furniture.

The room was equipped in modern style and with all the comfort you need.

but a little more modern in style now, but the same excellent quality, attention to detail, and great maid service.

And of course, the spa area (Wellness Paradise} is fabulous, pools, saunas, hammams, fitness room, Jacuzzis.

We had a relaxing 9 days, the kids were hardly out of the pool, the bar service was excellent and Sacha our waiter led us through the outstanding wine list with aplomb.

The spa, two heated pools and several saunas to choose from are well kept, very clean and enjoyable.

The pool and wellness area (we went to the adults only section) was very nice, too.

The service is welcoming, the food excellent and the heated pools a nice retreat.

Pools (inside/outside) are heated for 33C.

The hotel is beautiful and comfortable, with warm pools that are perfect for after-ski play.

A great feature of the hotel are the in/outdoor swimming pools which is a fantastic way to relax after skiing

but it would have been nice if you could place  a drink order electronicly from this area and then wait for the drinks to be brought down!

I had a great full body massage in the spa.

Services, food, spa facilities, rooms etc.

The ski bus stops just outside and the free adult spa and heated pool with outdoor pool too are magical in the snow.

The spa facilities are wonderful with outside swimming in warm water and massages that will repair and rejuvenate your  body.

The pools gym and sauna were also perfect and used by us  every day .

Nice spa with two indoor and two outdoor thermal pools.

Fortunately we had the towels they supply for the spa.

There are 2 swimming pool for children and families, separated from other 2 adult-only pools and spa, so each can feel comfortable without disturbing.

Breakfast was a fabulous buffet affair with hot and cold options and lots of choice.

We enjoyed the buffet breakfasts with something for everyone from porridge to an egg station to produce omelettes or fried eggs plus an array of cheeses, salad breads and sweet offerings.

We had a wide selection of breakfast and good choice at dinner.

The food for breakfast and for dinner varied and delicious and absolutely loads of it, and it was quite a treat to be able to come off the slopes for ‘Scooby snax’ of soup and cakes before you settle down for your early evening Snooze followed by a swim in the glorious outdoor thermal pool.

we enjoyed a hearty breakfast which set us up nicely for our skiing.

Super buffet breakfast with everything you need to set you up for a day on the slopes.

The breakfast and dinner were also very nice and tasty.

Food delicious and plentiful with what looked like a good wine list,

Breakfast buffet was really excellent with freshly cooked omelettes / eggs to order and a huge choice of other food - lovely bread / pastries / fruit / cereal / yoghurts and selection of continental meats and cheeses, smoked salmon etc.

Breakfast is so much choice and the evening meal is six courses.

Everything about this Hotel is amazing, great friendly Staff who do anything to ensure your stay is comfortable, fantastic food with 6 course dinner, buffet breakfast and even fresh cakes in the afternoon.

Restaurant:  Nice breakfast, and pleasant dinner.

Breakfast was our favorite meal of the day, offering very healthy selections.You can get your eggs cooked to order.

Exceptional dining experience every evening in well appointed restaurant as well as full breakfast buffet in morning.

You order your main (from a choice of 3) at breakfast for that evening.

Breakfast with great omelettes made fresh to order set you up for the day on the slopes.

What sets this place apart is the food in particular; great evening meals and breakfasts too.

although this hotel looks really nice, due to the poor service, inedible evening meals and poorly laid out sauna and pool we will not be staying here again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

but wind did not permit this as a lot of the lifts were closed due to storms.

The only problem we had, was that we had to let our belts out a notch by the end of the week, due to the irresistible food!!!

The spa facilities were clean and beautifully designed as was the gym and other facilities.

The hotel was absolutely fantastic, a great room to accommodate a family of 5, very helpful staff (helped us retrieve lost property on a bus), great spa facilities.

Friendly staff, amazing food, great facilities, the ski bus is extremely close to the hotel, impeccable rooms!

There were tea and coffee making facilities

Then there is a decent sized indoor pool that it suitable for swimming, plus a spa and relaxation room.

The spa, pool and fitness facilities are top notch!

We had a great time skiing and the facilities the hotel offered were just right for us.

This is a top class hotel with excellent facilities (excellent food, an outside swimming pool with amazing views on snow covered mountains, very comfortable, spacious and quiet bedrooms) and very friendly and helpful staff.

It has a good small gym plus some gym classes if you don’t like to ski very much.

Spa facilities after a hard days skiing include jacuzzis, 3 types of saunas and both heated indoor and outdoor pools.

The hotel had excellent spa facilities, swimming pools and gym.

There is a well equipped play room for the children and the spa area is bright, clean and has fabulous views of the mountains.

Gym is really OK and provides for all basic machines you need.

First class spa facilities, outdoor pool with super views, great saunas, steam room, relaxation area.

Long established family run spa hotel with personal service and great facilities.

On the other side, the bathroom in our room was a little bit odd, surrounded by some glass wall, it does not offer the privacy of a traditional closed bathroom,

however, I mainly drank the "very drinkable" House Gruner Veltliner as I am not much of a connoisseur and then finished off with a glass of dessert wine.

Considering we had a couple of glasses of wine with dinner most nights and then a couple of drinks in the bar after as well as the odd drink when we got in from skiing we didn't think our bill was too bad at about 200 euros for 2 of us for the week.

A few tips – Graukogel was dreadful (very little snow and really shouldn’t have been open); try out the model cable car drinks delivery at the outside bar at the Aereostadl near the top of the funicular; the outside area at the Weitmoser hut has been upgraded with another glass box with sofas, cushions, etc.

To the right of the sink was another frosted glass panel, the other side of which was the (wonderfully hot and powerful) shower - again, no door.

There was one catch - in our part of the hotel the rooms all had new looking bathrooms made with lots of glass.

Only limitations we found were that the outside pool was only open from about 3pm - disappointing for our non skier.

Just make sure that the room door closes when leaving the room, with doors being of heavy wood they tend to stay open unless you really check.

You really had to keep every door and window open.

Opening the sliding door you swim out into the open air and enjoy the warm water whilst the air temperature is sub-zero.

She didn't go into any of the rooms at that time as not once did we hear a door open or close.

Russian guy brought a less then a year old baby to a sauna, Brits were jumping all over the same area screaming about their sporty achievements, some Russian girls were entering different sauna areas each minute, someone left the sauna door wide open.

The thermal outdoor pool was wonderful after a day’s skiing, there is also an indoor pool and sauna which we didn’t use.

The spa area is worthy of a visit, indoor and outdoor pool, saunas, steam room and relaxation areas plus treatment rooms for massages which can be booked (At Cost)

The owner is an artist and has lots of his large canvases around the hotel which are beautiful.
