The fourth floor may be tricky for some people as you take the elevator to the third floor and walk up one spiral staircase.

The lift only goes up 3 floors, so the last leg is by stairs to the 4th floor.

(The only thing to note is there is only a lift to the third floor so if you have issues with stairs avoid the 4th floor).

Some of the bedrooms are on the ground floor while others are accessed by a staircase or a small lift on two further floors.

Our room was on the 4th floor and the elevator only goes up to the 3rd floor, so you have to walk up a further flight of stairs.

Three of these double rooms are under the eaves on the 4th floor – the lift only goes to 3.

The room was wonderful (be careful to check if you cannot climb stairs as I was on the 3rd floor and lift only went to 2nd floor).

Our room was on 4th floor and was accessible by elevator to the 3rd floor and then a short flight of stairs to the 4th floor.

We had asked for a quiet room and were on the last floor - those rooms are probably the smallest (they also have sloping walls as it's the attic, and the elevator comes only to 3rd floor).

From the owner Frank, to the receptionists and drivers - each and every one are amazing hosts who make you feel most welcome as soon as you step through the door.

Every one of them exemplifies hospitality beyond measure, going out of their way to make guests feel welcome, wanted, and warmly cared for.

The greetings as we returned in the afternoons and the offers of beer, wine and/or water made us feel as if we were staying with friends.

The service there was outstanding and makes you feel at home.

The staff, led by the owner Frank, make you feel relaxed and at home as soon as you arrive and complementary drinks and nibbles, which are available 24/7, was offered while sitting filling in the paperwork.

They couldn’t do enough for us and made us feel like royalty.

Having stayed in some lovely establishments, this small family feel was exactly what we wanted..

He made us feel very welcome, talked us through the map of the city and recommended places to visit and places to go for food.

They will arrange trips for you, a hotel car will drop you off during your visit if needed and,  without exception, they all deserve a mention as I feel this makes the hotels stand out not only in Prague,

the service is so nice and personal, that you just feel like you at home.

Our room was comfortable and clean and we appreciated the old European feel it had.

The staff could not be more helpful,  and friendly and it really did feel like you were being welcomes into someones home.

Cannot praise Frank and his team highly enough for their level of service and customer care, with a special mention to Paula who made us feel so very welcome.

Reception on arriving and during our stay were always engaging,  friendly and ready to offer advice, drinks, etc.

They picked us up from the train station, complete with a typed sign and friendly driver.

All of the staff were friendly and welcoming and many gave me thoughtful suggestions as to how to spend my limited time (about 2 1/2 days).

from the Old Square in Prague Old Town; we stayed for a 3 night break during December and from the moment we checked in our every need was catered for.

The owner of Residence Agnes, and a half-dozen of his charming, young associate-ambassadors, conspired to treat my wife and me as honored, celebrity VIP-guests during our 6-day stay at this enchanting, modernized, old town hide-away last week.

Well situated with a short walk to Old Town Square.

The room we had was just fine with a very small bathroom and shower

The only minor negative was our shower was a little small (other rooms could have a larger one).

The only (minor) drawbacks to the room were a tiny bathroom and sink, especially for two people, and occasional noise heard through the walls/ceiling.

The rooms were tiny and in one i couldn't stand up in a large part of the room (i am over 6 foot tall), they were all that was left!

It is a small 20 room hotel, run somewhat like a large B&B.

They insisted on packing us some snacks the day we left!

The seating in the lobby is  extra welcoming when you are offered a beverage or snacks or tips for your next adventures.

In the hotel, they are there to meet your every need, a snack, a drink, sandwiches to go for a day trip, truly everything.

We stayed at the Agnes for 4 might nights and I was amazed at the level of service provided by the staff of the hotel

They made us comfortable any time of day offering drinks and snacks when ever we came back to hotel

Breakfast buffet was excellent.

There is always a drink or snack waiting for you no matter the time of day!

Every time before we walked out for sightseeing, they offered us small bottles of mineral water and when we returned to the hotel, they seated us in the gorgeous reception area with free wine, beer and snacks.

There were unlimited drinks (including excellent wine)  and snacks throughout the day.

Recommended great local spots, helped us in getting registered for COVID testing to get back into the US, and were always treating us to beverages and snacks.

The staff took personal care of our parking, arranged a great personal city tour guide, made our dinner reservations including a surreal dinner on a boat overlooking the Charles Bridge and Prague Castle, and every time we entered the hotel they seated us in the gorgeous reception area with free glasses of wine and beer and snacks.

I was offered a hot cup of tea when returning home on a rainy night and wine and snacks in the evenings.

in the reception area and the mini-bar in the room is also free for snacks and soft drinks.

Having free drinks and snacks at any time of day was fantastic, such a perk.

Great that you can help yourself to water and they offer wine and snacks on arrival.

They're offered snacks and drinks as well. .

They give free lifts to local attractions or restaurants, they gave my wife roses, wine and chocolates for her birthday, and there is free wine, beer, snacks, water every time you return to the hotel.

We were offered complimentary wine & beer & snacks, as we were every time we walked into reception.

We were welcomed warmly, treated to a welcome drink and snacks, and then the staff sat with us reviewing some of our touring plans and offering (never pushing) to assist.

Drinks and snacks are complimentary and they even bring it to your room.

Our most enjoyable stay at the Hotel Residence Agnes was mostly due to the highest level hospitality of the warm and lovely staff in all aspects from entertainment with drinks such as beer, wine, cofee, water bottles and snacks and chocolates on the house to giving free rides from and to the hotel.

We were driven to our attractions in the morning and returned to friendly faces, glasses of wine and snacks each afternoon.

Everything seemed effortless about the whole experience.

I have to give a big hearty THANK YOU to Frank and staff for making our stay the most pleasant of visits.

The owner of the hotel picked us up personally at the airport because two people were coming in at the same time and they didn’t know how many bags we brought.

Our room on the top floor was reached by a lift that took you so far then you had to go up a flight of stairs which was fine for us

Room: Our room was toward the rear of the third floor, easily accessible by elevator or stairs.

but simply asked if only deluxe as some I saw were larger on this site and also as I had broken both ankles by falling down steps so I’m still quite anxious with stairs, without hesitation we were moved to a room on 3rd floor.

One time I had walked up to my room with the wrong key card, after entering the wrong key card twice, the lobby manager rushed up to assist me (he spotted me and quickly came up the stairs to help).

But if you cannot climb stairs comfortably, ask for lower floor rooms.

The only negative thing I could possibly say is that the stairs to the fourth floor were right outside our door so we could hear people clomping up and down the wooden stairs.

As I am writing this review I can hear the foot steps of people climbing the stairs and walking outside of my room and closing their doors.

We have travelled in Europe many times and this hotel is one of the best we have encountered: friendly and helpful staff; location near tram stop and not far from metro station; excellent breakfast buffet; inviting public rooms with beverages and pastries often available; great paintings and other decorations; two free Prague beers.

A complimentary welcome Prosecco and beer on arrival was a lovely touch and all the staff were friendly and helpful.

Our room had a small romantic decoration on the bed with some chocolates and we were able to have breakfast in our room - which we did on the last day and the amount we were given would have fed an army - well worth having!!

Although we were a bit unlucky and ended up with a small room with the big pillar inside which made it feel even more cramped.

The only criticism would be at breakfast where the dining room was a little small if the hotel was full.

It's is excellent for a party of three people, has one super king size bed in one room and a small double bed in the other room, plus a living room, a bathroom and a small kitchenette.

There was also an unpleasant smell that did not dissipate throughout our 4 night stay.

Alternatively you can buy them from either the ticket machines at the tram stop or from any store that sells newspapers, cigarettes etc.

I hate the smell of cigarette smoke, period.

Now for the little details that could be improved: There was a persistent bad smell in the bathroom.

The entire hotel is non-smoking, not an easy thing to find in Prague.

I guess we're spoiled in the US where most places are non-smoking.

Not sure why smoking is so de rigeur in 2014.

Though we were given a non-smoking room, it is allowed to smoke everywhere.

but smelled of cigarette smoke (Note that our room and the rest of the hotel did NOT smell like cigarette smoke).

but nothing special and a little musty, as was the lobby seating area) and a very nice rooftop patio.

Also the soap dish (no drainage holes) was drilled into the wall directly under the shower head with obvious nasty white stickiness as a result.

I also felt the hotel was a bit smoky smelling.

And a big plus, given the prevalence of smoking in the Czech Republic, is the separation of smokers and non smokers at breakfast; smokers have their own space away from the main breakfast room.

Mistakenly I assumed all hotels in Prague would be non smoking as in the UK

Yes the hotel does smell of oak wood smoke from the log fires in the reception areas and we found it was a very homely and inviting smell not offensive in any way.

The Breakfast is exceedingly good and refreshed all the time.

Service from the staff was impeccable, and so was the cleanliness of the facilities.

The service is helpful, in particular Michaela was very good.

The hotel is beautiful, comfortable and cozy, the staff is attentive and polite.

Can't fault this charming and welcoming hotel at all, would throughly recommend to anyone visiting Prague.

Taxi was called for us, and all questions and answers and recommendations were outstanding!

Great stay, pleasant helpful staff, complimentary drink on arrival,  very clean, good sized room.

She also arranged our car service, made restaurant reservations, and booked a few tours for us.

For example, in under 15 minutes, you could walk to the tram stop, hop aboard 3 out of the 4 trams that stop there and ride 3 short stops where another 3 minute walk puts you on the Charles bridge.

They can book tours for you and advise on restaurants, directions, and whatever you need.

Marcela recommended places to eat, tours and places to visit which was super helpful.

Radka greeted us with such kindness and helped schedule two wonderful dinners and a tour.

She greeted us late at night with a drink and gave us information about possible tours of the city.

The staff was welcoming and very helpful with suggestions and assistance booking tours for us.

From the moment of our arrival in the hotel, for the entire duration of our stay, he has always guided us, given small useful tips about the city, transport, restaurants and made our stay so much more enjoyable.

Additionally Jon contacted me with hotel transfer and tour options.

The walking tour recommended by the hotel was excellent too.

Petra subsequently gave us a brief tour of the Hotel Julian including the absolutely fabulous and relaxing library room, the breakfast room/area, the in house Restaurant and the roof top terrace(accessible via lift to top floor(4th floor) then a very short set of steps.

I was treated first class - full tour of basement restaurant, rooftop patio, sample rooms, was quoted the affordable rate I read about, and was promised one quiet, spacious room I'd seen and loved.

The Hotel Staff was very attentive and provided excellent directions and suggestions for sightseeing.
