Bad: Scrambled eggs tended to be very salty, spread does not change much

CONS: Sockets in the rooms were not universal (they were the type-Cs), WiFi was not always stable, refurbished rooms do not have bathtubs

The tub is taller then most US hotel tubs so it may be hard to step in and out of and may not be easy for people who have balance or other issues.

The tub/shower floor is about 4-6 inches higher than the bathroom floor.

The bathtub was a bit high to get into for a shower, so one might be careful about that if one is elderly.

Shower area was elevated on a tub and has half door so make sure to hold the detachable shower head and make the water pressure low.

However, the shower/bathtub combination was a disappointment because of the tub's slippery surface and too-low grab bar.

But the bathtub is too high that you may need to 'climb in'.

Just the the bathroom is not perfect, there is no shower only a bathtub with a shower head.

It was quite a large step up and over the tub wall though!

Accessibility: the room we were in had a shower over a bathtub.

The tub/shower was difficult to get up and into and the bottom of the tub was rounded which means you need to pay extra attention when showering.

although tub was slippery in the shower, so be careful.

Rooms are very clean and breakfast is decent.

Room and also bathroom were clean and beautifully furnished.

Overall the hotel is clean, modern and in a central-ish location.

We found the hotel to be very clean, no problem with our room, the staff on reception were very helpful and informative, the restaurant staff were also helpful and quick to replace items at the breakfast buffet which were running out, and removing used plates etc from tables.

The room was great, clean, really comfy beds and everything you needed for a city break.Breakfast had a good choice too and we never found it over busy.

Hotel staff were always helpful, friendly, room was clean, quiet, food was good.

Beautiful hotel with perfect location (about 20 minutes by walk to Old Town Square and metro stop across the street).

It’s location is perfect just a short walk to the city centre or hop on the tram/metro if needed.

Hotel is located almost on top of a tram stop and metro station so getting into Prague is really easy, also only a short walk if you prefer to avoid public transport.

We went for the botanique room which was very modern and spacious, and because of it's location next to a tramline and metro station, was very convenient to go out and explore the city at all times.

All in all a very pleasant hotel with great staff and a good location for you to explore Prague and all its beautiful sights.

I know they're putting in a new system soon (hopefully they'll update their website when they do because I know it'll deter a lot of people) though and it didn't worry me because I have free mobile roaming. Breakfast was good - variety of German style stuff with cold meats and salads etc

Their layout and functionality is great with small things such as having USB-C plugs to charge iPads and latest generation iPhones on the side of each bed is great addition + the suitcase storage well thought out.

The only downside which we found on both mornings was the cleaners - 6.30am wake up call from them slamming doors and banging around in the hall ways.

This was then made worse by a series of dodgy phone calls that occurred at 5am, when these calls were answered the phone was put down!

The bar staff rang me when i left something on the bar.

Extremely inhospitable, asked for them to charge my phone and it was a drama, asked the restaurant for a tiny pot of

When they got back to their room it still hadn't arrived so they had to call down and ask them to bring one.

but this was rectified in a few minutes of a phone call which we thought was fantastic.

The only negative was that I asked the hotel to give me a wake up call and they forgot

The staff I spoke to on the phone were extremely rude.

No one came up so I had to call down again 2 hours later.

The hairdryer did not work one call to reception and 5 minutes later housekeeping knocked on the door with a replacement.

Three Customers: We both used Three (UK) mobile phone with Feel At Home.

One things to be aware of, Do not get any of the taxis at the top of the road from James joice's Irish bar, I left my new phone in one, I rang it twice and then it was switched off, checked "find my phone" and it had been switched off only a few minuets away, it was fully charged, this kinda put a dampener on my weekend away so always ask the hotel for a taxi card or number,

On my last night I rang down to reception around 4.30am only to be told I should have rang earlier!

but you have to type pass every time you lock the phone.

with singing at 1.30 am the night we arrived, I eventually called reception, they weren't nice on the phone

The breakfast buffet had a very good choice of hot & cold food and drinks.

Try and explore Karlin if you stay, such a nice area with great beer garden!

We were recommended a dinner a dining cruise

The hotel has excellent facilities, food is exceptional, rooms are spacious and clean.Hotel provides tickets for events and public transport.

This time I decided to have a dinner in the hotel's restaurant and I have to admit, I am not disappointed at all.

We had a couple of nice cocktails in the bar then a short walk into town for a night out (10 - 15mins).

The breakfast was lovely with hot or cold food with lots of fruits and yoghurts etc.

Hotel also inclusdes A bar with lots of options for cocktails.

- all food was good quality and tasted real, no generic mass-processed stuff.

You can enjoy drinks at the bar and the food in the restaurant is inexpensive and really excellent.

Location great for restaurants and walking to the major sites of Old Town.

We skipped the « all you can eat breakfast »

We decided to have breakfast the first morning and I felt the staff at breakfast quite rude as we hadn’t booked it

but there is one staff at the reception (weekday during the day)  that is so rude to me every time, that I try to avoid seeing her when I get out… her attitude every time tells me that I owe her a million dollars.

Their attitude is extremely rude, inappropriate and impolite.

The front desk staff was ridiculously rude.

The staff were rude and unfriendly, it seemed that they did not know how to even smile let alone be hospitable, may the culture of people in Prague.

The staff were rude and not helpful at all on checking in they charged us a completely different amount as to what we booked on Booking.com I showed them the booking confirmation, staff throughout our staff was grumpy and didn’t really want us there not a great experience at all it’s a shame because Prague is such a beautiful city stay somewhere else if you can.

Please understand that no one was rude or unhelpful, they just didn't seem to be over the moon about anything.

Mold in the coffee maker, water damage on ceiling, ripped carpet, broken tiles in bathroom, stained walls, stained bedding, tv didnt work, AND GOT CHARGED TWICE.

Perhaps he was stressed because there were loads of loud stag party guys in the lobby drinking and smelled like Lynx.

The housekeeping staff didn't bother to change both the pillow covers and the mattress, totally disgusting!!.

The carpets just look dirty and the bathroom leaves a lot to be desired with mold all over the shower.

but getting out of the shower (with water on the floor because there is only a partial glass wall that goes about 1/3 of the length of the tub) was tricky and I thought I was going to bust my butt a couple times.

This resulted in several nasty insect bites for me,

My only notice for travelers that it is a non smoking hotel.

As soon as we enter the room, it was stinky!

Quite courteous and accommodating in all of our crazy visitor requests, even when our schedule changed. Only caution on 2 bits: “smoker’s exhaust” fills the lobby when they leave the front door open, and guidance on a RegioJet bus ride to Cesky Krumlov seemed inaccurate (or maybe forced?)

On the first night (when my friend and I woke up at midnight drenched in sweat) the manager at the desk said they would move our room or fix the AC in the morning.

Reception didn't care just said we put a rollaway in your room.. after first day here came back late and the towels were thrown on the rails not folded.. bed was half made..
Not a great experience.. breakfast was ordinary fruit salad was old, muffins stale not impressed.

Second thing is there is smoking bin outside hotel and while standing there a man came up who was clearing homeless and started lifting the lid to find old cigarette to smoke.

disgusting rooms, argentines and cockroaches in the bathroom, in the beds and the elevator.

In the bathroom on the last day I found  on the floor a lot of long black hairs (disgusting).

Bar staff downstairs treated my husband well!

Bed, toilet, air-con, tv, desk and wifi all worked well and standard of fixtures was good.

Unlimited coffee,  capuccino and espresso to hotel guests and their friends,    the beautiful bar,   where breakfast is served.

There was complimentary afternoon wine and a buffet breakfast with a variety of food choices.

Breakfast is served from 7 to 10 am and the breakfast buffet has so much food and variety of food it could be for lunch or even dinner.

Location is great as we were able to walk to the Old Town Prague, Charles Bridge within 10 minutes.

This hotel was the perfect location for my stay in Prague.

The rooms are really clean and the location was excellent.

The quality of breakfast was just too poor for us want to try again after a piece of bread and some coffee on the first day.

The only minus to be mentioned is the poor signal of wifi in our room.

His English was excellent which made up for our poor Czech!

Only the sound isolation was poor; snoring from next room kept us awake time to time.

Only draw back was the poor air conditioning in the humid heat.

I rate the hotel poor only to allow readers to know that this is the situation here.

Breakfast was poor in fact on 2 days of our stay the orange juice was really only orange squash.

but we were always able to communicate easily (a blessing given our poor handle of Czech)!

The breakfast buffet was as another person posted just "sad" and poor quality.

Overall a poor experience and would not recommend the hotel for the price we paid which was approx £76 per night.

Only criticism -  the orange juice was rather diluted and poor - mix it with the bubbly.

However they then gave a poor convertion rate to Czech Crowns which meant that the final bill was some 10% higher than we had anticipated.

The rooms, lobby and entire building are clean and have tremendous character.

The room itself,  with painting by Mucha over the bed, and with glorious view towards the church and the square,  was lovely,  and many details offered are quite unique.

A wonderful hotel, the staff were very nice and worm.

The owner was gracious and helpful, as was the rest of the staff.

From the moment the owner welcomed us,  we knew we had come to stay at a very special hotel.

Kristian, the owner, was welcoming and very helpful any time we had questions.

The hotel staff, especially the helpful concierges at the reception desk (Tom and then later Joseph) displayed such caring for their guests every need, and also competence in their job.

The place is beautiful and the staff superb.

I got to meet the owners and they are great people taking absolutely superb care of their customers.

Two years later Hastal honoured the booking without any questions or asking us to pay a supplement.
