The breakfast was excellent - fresh fruit, baked goods, yogurt, cereals, cheeses, omelettes to order.

It would be nice if hotel management would speak to the bar owners and/or police to get the bar patrons to be more considerate of their guests and desire to sleep.

I complained again in the morning, this time asking to speak to a Manager.

Our concern:
Our concern that we hope management will consider is the Fire Safety- a room key required to exit room- this is against the fire code in our country (Canada) as the door should allow easy egress by the guest, without requiring a key for exit in an emergency situation for example a fire.

Please management consider making the facilities available in the rooms.

If you want your visit to be a happy and memorable one, stay elsewhere, this hotel's management needs to do a better job of sending their front lobby staffers to hospitality training.

The management & the staff should be very proud of themselves.

I did get a kick out of the manager's responses to the negative reviews.

If she had been a better manager she could have easily handled the problem by treating us sympathetically and apologizing.

Finally, I think there must of been a change of management as some of the older reviews here seem to describe a different hotel?

Breakfast couldn't be faulted,fantastic selection with something for everyone.

Facilities were great, breakfast outstanding and staff very friendly & helpful.

We were booked for bed and breakfast, our room was wonderful ,we even had a small balcony and underfloor heating in the bathroom which was lovely after a shower not having to stand on a cold ceramic floor.

however, was when they placed a note on my bed , demanding I report to front desk immediately, when apparently they have mistaken me for some other guests, and they did that when a “do not disturb “ sign was placed on the door knob.

BIGGEST PROBLEM IS THE LACK OF SOUNDPROOFING:
I literally was sleeping in my room with my gf after ny eve, and from 8 am the housekeeping was knocking loudly to all the doors, because of streams the doors were closing so loudly, like somebody was heating with the head that door.

Cons: Skylight rooms have a roller blind which, when pulled down at night or opened in the morning sounds like a drill next door and wakens anyone who may be sleeping.

Worst of all, this place subscribes to the idea that bathroom doors are somehow old-fashioned, and has put a sliding, not-really-closing frosted glass panels there instead.

The lift door was constantly opening and closing between the shouting.

If I can give you advice, because I was here many times in different room types: take the room with the black bathroom (original rooms) - is bigger and has normal door to the bathroom.

In that time our room was barged in to by housekeeping twice, prior to 930am with knocks on the door at least twice a day to try to also gain access, the lady servicing the mini bar also barged in to our room after knocking once while I was in the shower.

Shower featured tub with high step to enter and only one-half of clear door that did not prevent water from splashing on floor.

The hotel seems to know this is an issue because they warn you to make sure your door is locked when you leave.

Just go out the back door and your on the main street

Like a few other hotels, the gasket at the bottom of this door didn't make a tight seal, and the first time we used the shower, the floor near the tub got wet.

- Construction (early stage Aug. 2019) right next door every day of the week 7AM to 7PM
- No hair conditioner, seriously first night I couldn't find and thought house keeper have forgotten so called and got it.

but a bit small, and good WI-FI service
- Everything is a bit smaller than usual (Furniture, doors etc)
- The staff are helpful

We went out at 2:00pm and return at 6:00pm and found out our door was OPENED (the staff left already as the house keeping time ends at 6).

The shower door only covers about 30% of the bath, so water just pours out onto the floor.

but the door to the room is quite thin so hallway noise was a problem at times.

however gets bland and repetitive usual offering for European hotel, gets very noisy at night and early morning with slamming doors and noisy corridors.

Only issue i had with this hotel is the slow lifts, they take ages to open & close doors, and even the staff along with other guests have to wait long to use the slow lifts.

Everyone in the family loved the breakfast--mimosas, sushi, hot foods like sausages/potatoes, salads, pastries, fresh squeezed juices, lattes/other coffees.

The breakfast was extraordinary, with several options of salads, fruits, omelettes made at the moment, drinks and breads.

Breakfast was so wonderful that I started to think that I might like to move my bed into the dining room!

I was given old rooms with low wood ceilings, with a weird smell, wood beams running through the floor, dirty carpet and had several insects inside the rooms just in those few minutes seeing the rooms initially.

Only downside was an extremely annoying running water sound which appeared to be the drain from the room above.

but if fit you will have no problem but if you have heart or breathing problems then you will need to seriously consider if that walk is for you.

The only negative thing for us was that smoking was allowed in the "winter garden" especially that people where smoking during breakfast when it is specifically not allowed.

I booked that hotel aslo because of is Smoking area, unfortunately they did not inform before that small cigars are not allowed

It was 12:45am and I was wearing jeans and a t shirt to go smoke, so I guess I didn’t look like I belonged.

sometimes it smelled bad because of the fish dishes that were right next to the entrance.

So after breakfast we smell real bad after oil etc.

(Tip: You can buy tram/subway tickets at Tobacco stand on square if you don't have coins to use in ticket machine in subway).

My room smelled of cigarettes, which annoyed me,

We were staying on the 6th floor and it was full of dirty holes and burnt places which was disgusting.

The bad thing in this hotel, there is no cigar smoking area, inside and outside I was not allowed.

The only negative during the stay were the hallways being decorated,  the chemical smell from the wallpaper paste was very overpowering and occasionally there was some noise from the workers

Smoking is allowed indoors in Prague, which I don't like at all and this hotel is no exception,

The lady and the gentlemen next table smoked at least 5 cigarettes each during the half hour we staid. ☠️

My one big complaint is the vodka lobby bar, whilst I'm aware that smoking inside is still legal in the Czech Republic, the bar is very very small and was full of smokers, we would like to have stayed in there longer

Also, because the hotel management allows visitors to smoke in the bar on the  ground floor, the entire lobby smells cigarettes and sometimes you can even feel the smoke on the upper floors of the hotel.

Smoking is permitted in the bar, which was something we are not used to, being from the UK.

The building is older and I noticed the room had a musty smell to it.

And despite the fact that the room was non-smoking, we could smell cigarette smoke the entire time we were there.

Every morning we enjoyed a delicious breakfast that fueled us for a day of walking around Prague.

The staff is there to truly make your stay special from making dinner reservations, suggestions as to area activities, and even having the city’s most delicious caramel cake delivered on 2 occasions “just because” they knew it was my daughter’s favorite.

A lovely breakfast is provided every morning with more choices than you could ask for including home baked pastries.

As you might expect after all that, the breakfast is superb.

The rooms are nicely appointed, breakfast buffet is plentiful and the whole experience will make you want to return again and again.

Yes, the rooms are comfortable, the location is great, and the breakfast is terrific,

The room was comfortable and quiet, and breakfast was very good and offered a lot of variety.

The fourth floor may be tricky for some people as you take the elevator to the third floor and walk up one spiral staircase.

The lift only goes up 3 floors, so the last leg is by stairs to the 4th floor.

(The only thing to note is there is only a lift to the third floor so if you have issues with stairs avoid the 4th floor).

Some of the bedrooms are on the ground floor while others are accessed by a staircase or a small lift on two further floors.

Our room was on the 4th floor and the elevator only goes up to the 3rd floor, so you have to walk up a further flight of stairs.

Three of these double rooms are under the eaves on the 4th floor – the lift only goes to 3.

The room was wonderful (be careful to check if you cannot climb stairs as I was on the 3rd floor and lift only went to 2nd floor).

Our room was on 4th floor and was accessible by elevator to the 3rd floor and then a short flight of stairs to the 4th floor.

We had asked for a quiet room and were on the last floor - those rooms are probably the smallest (they also have sloping walls as it's the attic, and the elevator comes only to 3rd floor).

We were on the fourth floor, with the elevator only going to the third floor,

The room we had was just fine with a very small bathroom and shower

The only minor negative was our shower was a little small (other rooms could have a larger one).

The only (minor) drawbacks to the room were a tiny bathroom and sink, especially for two people, and occasional noise heard through the walls/ceiling.

It is a small 20 room hotel, run somewhat like a large B&B.

Our room on the top floor was reached by a lift that took you so far then you had to go up a flight of stairs which was fine for us

Room: Our room was toward the rear of the third floor, easily accessible by elevator or stairs.

but simply asked if only deluxe as some I saw were larger on this site and also as I had broken both ankles by falling down steps so I’m still quite anxious with stairs, without hesitation we were moved to a room on 3rd floor.

One time I had walked up to my room with the wrong key card, after entering the wrong key card twice, the lobby manager rushed up to assist me (he spotted me and quickly came up the stairs to help).

But if you cannot climb stairs comfortably, ask for lower floor rooms.

The only negative thing I could possibly say is that the stairs to the fourth floor were right outside our door so we could hear people clomping up and down the wooden stairs.

We appreciated the elevator as stairs are not our thing.

As I am writing this review I can hear the foot steps of people climbing the stairs and walking outside of my room and closing their doors.

even though the streets were busy, with the windows shut you couldn't hear a thing and the air conditioning was wonderful as it was an extremely hot weekend.

The only issue was with the air conditioning which was very noisy.

but a portable unit, noisy but cooled the room effectively and there was also a fan.

The room was a bit old and the AC was really loud and it didn't really get cold.

On the other hand, the bedroom aircon was noisy.

There is a noisy air conditioner in the room; we turned it off and opened the windows.

Very good buffet breakfast and good restaurant for meals.
