This is a pearl of a hotel: well-designed rooms, lovely restaurant, really good cooking, friendly and top-professional staff - and a wooden (woody) lift.

They have a smaller wellness area with 5 sauna's and a small fitness area in the basement.

People in hotel are very friendly and polite so with all incl.

staff is very friendly, rooms are very clean and big, breakfast and dinner -> JUST great!

Compared with other areas in Austria, the Defereggental is largely unknown and less expensive.

And the director, Mrs. Berger, makes sure that everything is taken care of.

Competent staff, reception and bar, absolutely enjoyable and a must see the Friday night show with the live Tyrolean dances straight in the hall!!!

However, the best part about the hotel was the staff.

Staff at restaurant of our table ignored what I said several times and in the morning he was not in the mood for working and telling it in front of customers.

However, because of this, it is not crowded, and there was never any waiting in line.

Very friendly staff, fine and healthy food.

There is literally no request that's not met in one or another satisfying way by the always polite staff.

Small guesthouse that suits families, rooms are decent size and location is ideal as ski bus leave from the front door and you will always get a seat.

The owners Peter and Belinda are very welcoming and very attentive hosts, the staff is very polite and the rooms are very well kept.

Owners Peter and Belinda are true polyglots , beside English ,Italian and off course German I ve got impression that they could easily answer to your question in Spanish or French as well, Ski bus station is just in front of guest house and as a first stop you can always get a seat.

The Zollwirt team does an exceptionally awesome job when it comes to service and "entertainment".

In conclusion, Vera and her husband were simply the most outstanding and friendly hosts in every respect during our two night stay, the accommodation was at a similarly high level and would have no hesitation in recommending Pension Enzian for a stay.

We were also shown an ‘honor payment’ fridge available for guests to access a small selection of beverages and water.

We also discussed many of the local things to do during our 10-day Christmas / New Year stay and again Vera was unbelievable with her advice and assistance, which far exceeded what we obtained from the local Tourist Office.

Finally, we mentioned to Vera shortly after our arrival, that we were having a family get together in a chalet we had booked in Maria Hilf (town next to Sankt Jackob in Defereggen) over the Christmas / New Year period and were having some difficulty in being able to book a Christmas Eve dinner for 13 persons, as the majority of places were only catering to their staying guests.

Tina and her team at the hotel have been amazing, very friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much for them, rooms great and clean, food was lovely,  the little Birthday cake and sing song wishes was a nice touch, would stay here again… Danke…

You can hear the river and the classic cowbells from the Gasthouse.

If you are a heavy sleeper you probadly wouldnt mind.

The use of perfume is imo a bit unfortunate.

The staff/owners are very serviceminded, helpfull and will make sure your stay is optimized.

The Plonerhof is a true active farm (during our stay a calf was born on the alm) - the owners are proud to introduce you to the farm and the animals.

One withdraw was that you have to carry your luggage up the stairs to your room (no elevator).

The waitress (probably the owner) is more than friendly and being served is a joy.

but it is not trivial for older people (although I'm sure the owners will help).

It is a very lovely house, with a very nice and warm owners.
