The owners are extremely helpful with any requests one might have - I needed an early breakfast.

The Manager was very friendly, the room and breakfast was very good, The place is peaceful and well maintained.

The rooms are very warm and lovely and the breakfast was simply delicious.

In rooms, small fridge {honesty bar}, kettle with coffee and tea, hair dryer and cupboards.

The municipality should pul up their socks and fix the roads, otherwise people are missing out on the beauty of Potchefstroom.

Breakfast was served freshly prepared with good quality coffee.

The amenities were excellent and the breakfast was delicious.

This and the breakfasts and wonderfully accommodating staff is why it remains our preferred B&B.

When we left the next morning at breakfast time, I showed Susan a copy of her website with the words “on a bed and breakfast basis”.

They make you look forward to breakfast and it is an all round fantastic experience.

Was celebrating my birthday on one of the days and they even went out of their way to put a little red velvet muffin in my room for me to enjoy, considering that i was away from my family, that just made my day.

The food was delicious, the rooms was up to standard.

The breakfast is well prepared to your liking and well laid out.

The breakfast and supper was cooked with love, you could feel them as you ate, I enjoyed all the meals.

The rooms were beautiful, the staff were extrememy friendly and the breakfast was excellent.

This was not a “spacious” room (see website), “cramped” would be a better description.

I slept like a dream and was woken with a health breakfast on an exquisite tray – a feast of berries, strawberries, a decadent smoothie/nuts muesli - out of this world and wonderful coffee.

Shoana makes every stay a memorable one with the beautiful rooms that is equipped with all one needs, friendly service and her delicious and interesting breakfasts.

I was  pleasantly surprised to find gourmet breakfast and dinners which were not repeated during my stay.

Shoana, the owner/manager prepared a lovely breakfast daily, at a time requested by us.

though I had stepped into another age with Italian prints on walls the colour of rum-raisin ice cream, and dark oak furniture.

(There is also a smaller table inside, so one could work even in inclement weather.)

The only "negative" is that they leave a bottle of Port in each room for guests and my wife liked it so much, she had we dram too many one night.

The decoration is very tasteful, the breakfast was great and the staff very friendly and helpful.

Staff was very friendly and supportive, pool was sparkling clean and inviting, we felt safe at all times and breakfast was great.

A delicious breakfast was served, just the way to start my day.

Just so good, great room, breakfast very good, for us the stand out were the staff, Dominique really went the extra mile, nothing too much trouble, including changing our flat tyre(with assist from Aubrey)!

The room was excellent, only to be surpassed by the friendly staff and the hearty breakfasts.

From the apparent room maintenance and cleaning to the friendly and efficient service at breakfast.

Pros:
- Super friendly staff/atmosphere at guest house
- Ample secure off-street parking
- Huge rooms/bathrooms
- Fully stocked mini-bar fridges in rooms at reasonable prices
- Great breakfast with a wide variety of options to suit everyone's tastes
- Baby friendly with quality high chairs and cots
- DSTV in room
- Laundry service, again at a reasonable price
- Easy no step access rooms for people with lesser mobility

Cons:
- None really.

Breakfast was fantastic with a choice that can put many upmarket hotels to shame.

Although we had a very spacious, clean and neat room, friends staying across us had a very small room comparing to ours and paid the same, so rooms are not consistent in sizes,

This was the second year consecutively that we spent five nights at Akkerlaan to attend the annual Aardklop festival.

A smallish TV with limited channels was available.

Taking a bath in the morning the water is COLD!!

Did not like the fact that bathroom was not en-suite and shower head was so small and water temperature incosistent

The receptionist was very friendly,however the staff serving breakfast not.

Breakfast was very well presented and delicious!

Breakfast, we arivved and was greeted by the chef who explained the hot braekfast to and we enjoy our breakfast all was excellent.

The toilet is open and not private at all!!

This was quite frustrating as I was there on business and was quite reliant on wifi.

Breakfast was and service was good though.

As there are no metered taxi’s in Potchefrstroom we were walking to the bus station.

Fridge for your basic food, TV with all the necessary channels - Air conditioner - Coffee and tea tray - you want something specific - Just Ask   :) 
Braai lapa at your door and all the comforts you need.

TV is limited to one set-top box and only one channel can be selected for the house.

I have to mention Etta Coetzee, our hostess.

A few things I would like to have were more than one bath towel, because after a bath before going to bed the towel will not getting dry by the next morning and no soap on the bath side.

There are 5 rooms with various configurations of single and queen beds and some with 3 beds so the accommodation is flexible.

Breakfast was good, everything I asked for.

Breakfast is provided in a lovely open dining area, so there is a potential for community to be formed amongst the guests and the hosts.

Breakfast was great and prepared freshly while you wait.

Breakfast was also very tasty and a a wide spread of food was available

Breakfast was very good with homemade omelettes prepared to order.

This was only a one night stay to attend a wedding so we spent very little time at the guest house.

The only drawback is having to drag my heavy lugguage up the stair to the first floor rooms.

When traveling alone I do not like sitting in a restaurant by myself.

Traveling with a baby (almost two years old) they allowed an early check in at no extra charge and late check out and a minimal charge.
