Hot water service is located behind locked door in 2nd bedroom which kicks in at 7am which was very annoying.

Need some maintenance in bathroom e.g shower door.

but un allocated so we had to park out on the street on a rainy night because others used all the spaces including outside our door.

My only problem was that the sliding door could not be locked and made me feel a little unsafe.

Fridge door hard to close, beds super hard.

Accessing the room at night was tricky as the stairwell was unlit and the (unlockable) door to the car parking area opened so close to the bottom step as to make it dangerous.

Otherwise, be prepared to straddle the toilet to close the bathroom door.

*The bathroom entrance is tight, making it hard to access the toilet as the door opens weirdly.

Room was tired, shower door leaked, room was not serviced at all over the two night stay, we had to request fresh towels and toilet paper and the rubbish was not emptied, container blocked our nominated car park

The main concern is love to see get fixed, to see an extra form of lock up high to prevent children opening the door and getting out.

9am at 25th morning, 2 housekeeping staffs knocked our door and tried to access into our rooms, it seems they definitely had no idea if guests still in the room!!!

but not so great if there are kids screaming and carrying on like kids do in a pool, also other guest were smoking in the pool area which meant we had to close our sliding doors.

Also we didn’t feel quite secure as the door and stair case leading to our apartment was always unlocked.

Long story short, the bride and groom used the apartment for the two nights out of three and to having to park out on the street because the “allocated”car park at the apartment door was taken by another car and when brought to the attention of the staff it was advised then that there is no allocated car parking.

The flyscreens on the doors leading to the balcony  were filthy and looked like they had never been cleaned and when trying to open them you had to practically force them open and one of the screens actually fell out of the rails.

Just a little concerned about security as outer door to our apartment and the one next door was left unlocked all night leaving it susceptible to overnight rough sleepers.

Our apartment was not clean and the outside terrace was very dirty with the screen door off the rails because there was so much dirt in the tracks .The bathroom was tiny with no space to even stand unless the door was closed .Breakfast both mornings was missing a lot of things that were advertised  and not replenished and there was no one around to ask or help .Overall it was below standard all around .

Staff were friendly, and plenty of undercover parking was available right under our apartment.

I travel for business and it always feels safe and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Not being an apartment where you can wash or dry towels your stuck with the same damp 2 towels for the duration of the stay.

(Never told or advertised) absolute nightmare with a 1 year old, the floors and couches had stains everywhere, the showers all leaked and the bed linen in the cot was disgusting.

Unfortunately we lucked out and got one of the family apartments down the back next to the overflowing, stinking industrial bins.

but I did notice some mould & discolouring of pipes behind the toilet.

There were ants crawling on the bedspread and bed.Half empty bottle of milk and empty bottle of soda water in the fridge from previous guests which was not cleaned out.Absolutely disgusting exhaust in the bathroom with clumps of dust

The foyer into the room was disgustingly dirty, the price was way too high considering prices in Melbourne are less for a far better room.

Breakfast not the nicest - recycled pastries were stale and unappealing.

I was also given a sheet to sign stating no smoking no party, no guests after 10pm etc

but had a strong "cooking smell" that would suggest deodorizing or cleaning of the rangehood vents was needed.

Bathroom a bit dirty and reeked of mould, had to keep window open, no flyscreen in the window either.

even though the Receptionist was good enough to attend the apartment to resolve the problem.

Our overnight stay was effortless and peaceful.

Good service; Great location; Car parks in all Quest apartments are always tight; As weekends not serviced, maybe inform the clients in advance either at booking or in the beginning so that they can request and collect additional items available from the Reception desk on weekends.

That was the only strange and weird thing that happened and I woke up thinking that someone was trying to break in!

Staff were accommodating to making sure we had a comfortable stay and had our requests met.

The only spot to plug in was on the floor nearest to front window which Is less than ideal as devices could be seen from outside by those snooping in.

Windows aren't double insulated and you do get some traffic noise at peak times and a little during the night.

Room clean,carpet spotless extra pillows in cupboard,hit and high volume hot shower, roomy with small table and 2 chairs.good full width/length blinds on windows to keep out afternoon sunshine if snooze required.

Maybe smokers could smoke in the garden as for us non-smokers, it was off putting and windows were shut.

Only issue was poor WiFi reception in this unit.

Freezing in there too with no solid doors to block out wind just another chain mesh gate.

The only thing that would make these units perfect would be a see through fence so that you could look out to sea while enjoying your meals.

The heating let the cabin down and needs to be looked at.

No kitchen with gas cookers, toaster and water boiler, just a barbecue stand which was useless for me.

No air conditioning or functioning fan and heating in the "bedrooms" for the cold days.

Are these the only cabins in Australia with A/C ?

We were given a cabin that had just been painted and the paint fumes required leaving the windows/doors open in winter!!

I suggest giving the cabins a big miss though, they were dearer than a motel down the road, had no air conditioning and the one we were given was alive with an ants nest, kitchen facilities were very basic, and the bunks for the kids in the hallway opposite the bathroom.

The staff were extremely friendly and allowed us to grab a key and check out a 2 bed room unit.

Well we're in for a surprise, the park is very clean and tidy, the staff are very friendly and helpful.

However i must say that the amenities are very dated and are need of urgent attention, very smelly and not pleasant.

Showers and toilets could do with an upgrade or a bucket of bleach.

Our fabulous neighbor continued to smoke and drink while her dog yapped its way through the day.

Where to start: they were filthy, very dated, floor lino was pulling up, mould on the roof, wood rot around windows, holes in the fly-screens and doors falling off their hinges.

When you peak over the fence all you see is a loud, smelly harbour loading ships 24 hours a day.

All the dirt from outside made its way inside, all the bench tops where covered in water  and hair and the bathrooms didn't have a pleasant smell at all.

There was mold, spiders, cobwebs, dirt in the bunk bed, and our daughter woke up one morning to find her bunk covered in ants!!

Always met with a warm friendly smile, the team at this park are terrific.

The staff were very polite, so helpful and nothing was too much trouble.

They were a great and welcoming crew of people.

I would like to highly commend the management team at the Portland Bay Holiday Park.

Fantastic place park to stay the managers Gav & Dee are absolutely the most welcoming people you could meet, happy hour is a must.

At the reception the gentleman who received us was extremely helpful and courteous.

Besides the beautiful location and large sites, the owners were so welcoming, going above and beyond to provide live entertainment for guests, tourist information as well as accommodating an extension of our stay.

but never use it for heating, as ducted gas heating is far more effective and quieter.

Only downside for us is we're not a fan of stairs and this had a very steep narrow staircase (as was common in houses of this vintage).

The rooms could have done with double glazing and more substantial heating

but beware in winter the heating is not all that wonderful, so there's a slight chill in the air.

The kids loved the dog and the cat and Mandy was very friendly.

Owner is friendly and provided everything we needed.

On top of all this they have a very cute friendly resident puppy & kitty cat.

The owners are super friendly and knowledgeable about the area, rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable, the house its self is fascinating for the eclectic collection of books and furniture, and quaint touches like cake and sherry out in the lounge room when you get back from a hard days walking and eating !

If you feel lonely in your room,  you can sit in the lounge by the open fire , sip on the complimentary glass of port or sherry and listen to the music (TV in the lounge - just like in the old days ).The owners were very friendly and attended to all our needs.

I stay here whenever I work in Portland and it is warm, friendly, comfortable and well appointed.

The B&B's location is close to restaurants, there is free WiFi, a big Australian breakfast is served in the morning (cooked to order) and the hosts are very friendly and helpful in pointing out the restaurants and even helped planning our next day.

Owners were very friendly and accommodating, gave us a couple of rooms to choose from.

I had a quick look at what was on offer for the continental breakfast: some yoghurt from German-owned supermarket Aldi - again, why don't the owners buy Dairy Farmers, Yoplait or Farmers Union yoghurts manufactured by Australia's listed dairy company Bega and available at the excellent Daly's Supa IGA up Percy St in Portland - plus toast and tea/coffee.

Where to start, our welcome from Mandy was lovely, warm and genuine.

We were greeted as family or friends rather than paying guests and given a tour of the heritage hotel.

The house, the hosts and the location is wonderful.

On our second visit Mandy showed us around Victoria House and explained the history of the beautiful old buildings.

Mandy, the owner, made us so very welcome and always went the extra mile with her consideration of our comfort, enjoyment and meals etc.

We had the best stay with our little fluffy furbabe, we felt so welcomed from the moment we arrived, Mandy and John were excellent hosts thinking of everything from Port and sherry with a bit of fruitcake by the fire to the amazing breakfast set up.

Our room was accessed via the 1858 house's original staircase, built at a time when building regulations were non existent so the stair rises don't meet 21st century standards.

Steep stairs lead to some bedrooms including a high brass bed.

Although the story about the resident ghost that walks the stairs and hallway meant that at a first sound of a creak - i had my 8yr old son sleeping in my bed - throwing elbows throughout the night!

but, as Craig said, not really needed because of the climate and the fact that the walls are (no joke) nearly 3 feet thick so it is well insulated for summer or winter.

Our host Roger, was very obliging and friendly.

In addition, the host was very friendly and we enjoyed nice long conversations with him at breakfast time.

Roger (host) was friendly and always available without being omnipresent.

Gorgeous old historic bed and breakfast, Roger is very accommodating and friendly.

On arrival Roger matched the friendly and welcoming image created by his confirmatory email, pointing out the beers, soft drinks and white wine in the fridge which he said were free and to which we could help ourselves.

Roger was friendly without being overbearing, and he really has his guests interests at heart.

Nothing is too much trouble for the friendly host and the complimentary drinks etc.
