There were a couple of niggles namely the air con wasn’t turned on in the hotel complex, which meant the nights were a little uncomfortable.

It is the effective use of that discretion that makes the difference between providing a good customer experience or a terrible customer experience.

During the night all you could hear was babies crying from the extreme heat and NO AIR CON.

The rooms are a basic finish, we had a hole in our bathroom ceiling, the air con was very loud and not very cold, ants in the room etc.

We were worried before we arrived having read some negative reviews regarding the air conditioning

Air con- people need to get over it now, it was broke they fixed it and gave everyone fans while they did so.

Hotel advised there were issues with the air con on arrival,

Cannot say enough good things about it - yes it got very hot while we were over there and the air con wasn't the best in public areas

to the point we had no air con for the first couple days and they went out purchasing I don't know how many fans to help cope with the heat (how can you complain when they try)?

although the hotel was adamant that we were only without air con for 5 days.

NEGATIVES

- The hotel aircon in 5 separate buildings had apparently failed completely for 4 days ( our room had none for 7 days) and the outside temperatures were between 31 & 36 degrees.

Reason for 4* and not 5 - we didn’t have air conditioning for numerous days, which made it unbearable anywhere that was indoors.

The hotel had to respond and put fans in peoples rooms while trying to deal with the issue.

At night they do allow you bigger glass drink    
Accommodation - NO AIRCON ANY WHERE.

Even with a fan we couldn’t sleep, tried outside, on the floor, basically 3 sleepless night till we came home.

Just returned from a week hols with family to the playa mar hotel, negatives, no air con in restaurant it is stifling and very uncomfortable, room air con not great neither.

The air conditioning doesn't work at all they have had issues the past 2 months on and off, nothing quite clearly has been done it's now Day 3 .

Air con broken and will not be fixed for ages according to several staff members.

Fabulous food, friendly staff throughout the hotel.

All the staff around the hotel were so friendly.

As other reviewers  have mentioned all staff were friendly and helpful, going out of their way to ensure we were enjoying our stay.

They are all so warm, friendly and professional.

Staff without exception were welcoming and friendly and seemed to genuinely wants guests to have the best holiday.

The swimming pool had plenty of water slides, a toddler pool and an adult pool too. The staff were super friendly (a big shout out to Nathy, Stefan and Nacho!)

The staff make the hotel really friendly especially for the kids and seem they enjoy their work environment which makes it easier for the parents.

Staff couldn’t do enough to help and always friendly and helpful.

The communication from the staff was very poor with regards to updating us and I do feel they were not telling us the truth.The hotel would only compensate us for the five days that they felt we were without air con irrespective of what we thought and taking pictures in the room at midnight testing the temp of our room was not enough to prove that the air con was not working.

The poor singer "Susan Brown" wasn't very good at all and we left the bar area early that night.

The cleanliness by the pool really was poor!

Without nacho, entertainment was poor, bingo for 4 nights in a row doesn’t appeal to us

but personally I would not come here if I didn’t have a young child and I would not leave a poor review on trip advisor because 80% of the guest demographic are temperamental little people and you didn’t do proper due diligence before booking!

Absolutely is NOT worth the money and shouldn’t be classed as all inclusive.

The only gripe was that there really weren't enough sun umbrellas and many of the ones that were there were broken or in poor repair.

The choice of food was also poor and not labelled properly and it is obvious they reuse food from the previous night.

The poor snack bar again had a great selection including help yourself salad a fridge full of different types of sandwiches hot dogs burger both chicken and beef, chips,pizzas and cheeses.

but the finish is very poor ( expanding foam underneath the skirting boards, holes in the plaster on the wall, cracks filled crudely plus stains on furniture.

Saying that the hotel was well kept and clean, the staff (with the exception of the late night reception staff) where friendly and efficient.On arrival at 12.30am, we found no food available the not even a bottle of water in the room which is poor show.

Food - quality is poor and beyond basic expectations with my husband becoming very sick 4 days in then my 10 month baby and then me!

We did bring this up with the reception staff

The entertainment team were fabulous - struck the right balance between enthusiasm without being overbearing.

Great pools, good balance of adult only opening time in the indoor pool and time for the children to go in the middle of the day, excellent food choices in the main restaurant and then snackier options in the bar when having a pool day etc. The 2 things that stood out the most were how helpful and happy ALL the staff were (from the reception,waiters etc all the way through to the cleaners ) and secondly, the great atmosphere that the entertainment team created for the children (Paul, Sammy and Andrea (thanks for the glitter tattoos haha!)

Angie and her staff were fantastic, they made the effort with my 2 year old as well as us and it was a really welcoming place to be.

but she really came out of her shell here it was lovely to see and that is down to how relaxed your staff made her feel the kids especially loved Andreea and Nacho but everyone was great.

Such a pleasant experience from the moment we stepped into reception, lovely staff to greet us and very helpful, great location, just a short walk to the sea front.

Arriving at our room which was on the 4th floor we found the key card wouldn’t open the door which was annoying so my husband had to go back to reception the guy gave him another key card so we had 2.

The locks on toilet doors are in need of replacing, I got locked in the disabled one by reception, luckily my banging on the door was heard and the receptionist let me out, most of the staff are helpful and nice, I met some nice people, I don’t think we’ll be back to this hotel in the future, this is my honest review.

but could use a little ‘spruce up’, some repainting, deep clean, replacing of some tired doors etc.

The only mirrors were by the door and in the bathroom

I would say that people were grabbing sunbeds on here from 6am as there are no doors blocking you.

The glass doors leading to the restaurant were always dirty with hand marks, I understand that many people re using these doors with greasy hands

although not enough sun beds, the doors to the pool area open at 7am so be prepared to get up early if you want a nice spot.

If you didn’t get up at 6:30am and join the crowd waiting for the door to open (at 7) and rush out to reserve sun beds before breakfast then you just  wouldn’t get one.

Bedroom was slightly small, the mini fridge door would get caught on the end of the bed and you couldn't open it.

however this hotel will not provide access to this area as doors are locked until 7am, and yes sunbeds do get taken very quickly, usually by around 8:30 majority taken.

My partner started banging on the lift door to try and open it.

We had difficulty opening the fridge as the door hit the bed frame, so the rooms are a little small in places.

We had put a do not disturb notice on our door, this was ignored and we were woken up most mornings until I pointed at the notice and made a shush gesture.

but even on the fifth floor with the patio doors close, I may as well have been at the evening disco / karaoke.

but we were very disappointed , get up early to get a bed by adult pool as all gone by 6am, doors open at 7am for main pool but still a run for a bed

although the passing traffic could be for others, i didn’t hear much traffic, with the room air con there was no need to keep the patio doors open so we Didn’t hear much.

Our handle fell off our door, the hairdryer didn’t work and we had to go to reception twice as the room key stopped working.

Our room door kept breaking and we had to leave open one evening as no maintenance on site.

Air conditioning only works when balcony doors are closed.

People needlessly crowd around the doors which lead to the pool, which opened at 7am, from 6 or earlier.

but they are so friendly and do not pressure you to get involved.

4 and 5 star hotels have gyms, spas, pool towels, a lounge bar, a tv room, tea/coffee facilities in the room, multiple dining options and much more, the Haiti doesn’t have these. What they do provide are some friendly and helpful staff, plentyful drinks if you wanted them (and some certainly do - to the extreme!)

No problem with beds and all the other guests were friendly and never heard any complaints.

The evening entertainment was poor, quiz or bingo .

Entertainment on the whole I felt was poor, children’s disco was all in European languages

-Entertainment for children is limited, the play park was littered with broken plastic cups and the indoor children’s play area is in a poor state of repair
- Evening entertainment is very poor & again not enough seating for the number of guests 
- Towards the end of the holiday we were woken a number of times by disturbances caused by hotel guests which included guests fighting in their rooms 
- Towards the end of our holiday it got a lot busier and the hotel seems to tolerate guests drinking heavily and smoking poolside all day & using foul language.

but the rest is quite poor with constant quizzes etc but the entertainment rep show was much better the second week.

They are : 1) The evening entertainment - very poor - more outside acts need to be brought in.

However, the 'cocktails' and soft drinks were too sweet and poor for my taste!

Coffee was v weak.

The sad part of the holiday were the entertaining staff, and entertainment, very poor, lacked enthusiasm!

Night time entertainment consisted of a quiz most nights, which was poor and left to those to answer, that could shout loudest.

The sound system around the stage area was very poor and when we commented to TUI rep about the poor quality of evening entertainment we were told it was still early season !

Another great stay at Suneo Haiti , Food was Marvellous , Rooms spotless and all staff really helpful as well as Karina the rep ,Only downside was the daytime and evening entertainment apart from booked acts , Geoffrey & Laura lets this hotel down speaking to adults like they were 2 year olds and counting how many cocktail sticks are in an apple is not entertainment , Doing the same quizzes twice in a week with same answers is really poor and they both only mix with the young adults and nothing for the older people to enjoy.

The menus are pretty awful and the presentation is poor.

STAFF-
The staff work very hard and are very helpful and polite.

The first week there was 3 entertainment staff and they were very good in the day time with their activities

It was bliss on the two days the entertainment staff were off.

It's not fair on morning staff (Antonia) to have to clear up.

The main bar & staff are great, never have wait for your drinks & so much choice, lovely cocktails!

The entertainment team worked hard with pool games and things for people to join in with.

All the staff we encountered we nice and chatty and we had a good laugh with them.

Considering it was towards the end of the season, the staff were attentive, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and friendly.

There are plenty of staff and they are all very professional yet friendly and attentive.

The staff are professional and friendly, making us feel at home.

Everything was first class - the super well trained friendly staff, quality of the room, excellent food and outside the loungers with provided towels overlooking a private beach.

but it was lovely to be greeted by happy friendly faces each morning .

The rooms are clean and comfortable BUT the service is poor - drinks taking forty minutes plus to arrive, a terrible smell at the club swimming pool every day and poor air con in one of our rooms - reported twice and never acted on as far as we know.

We experienced poor service in the hotel restaurant on a couple of occasions.

We complained about the poor food and the deduction of €50.

but whilst the breakfast was very good and the service excellent, the evening meal was certainly not up to standard served over two sittings, poor food in a restaurant with no atmosphere.

but the lack of toiletries for a nights stay in a spa hotel was poor.

It transpired that many of the restaurants were either overcrowded or had poor menus.

however last year we understand it changed ownership with little to show apart from a very poor early breakfast on our day of departure.

The shower was of an old design and of poor flow.

There was quite a noticeable amount of poor behaviour towards the staff, lacking please and thank you etc.

however the air con was just as poor, so we stayed  put.

though some of the rooms appear to be quite small.

Upon entering the room the room it was very small, unimpressive and smelled bad.

The room was so small that only one of us could move at once.

My husband and I had room 331 to begin with and as we were shown to the room we were told that once we’d unpacked that the hotel would store our empty suitcases as the room was too small to leave them in with us.

Our room was really small 2 get either side of the bed for the next most expensive room to a suite and didn’t have a bath, no turn down service, dreadful room service and awful air conditioning.

Our  room was small and compacted with on suite bathroom.

Staff were excellent and helpful in general, with the manager not really engaging with customers as well as the previous manager, Monica.

Our special thanks to the helpful receptionists and Restaurant staff particularly Maria and Christina.

Wonderful location, great food and fabulous staff.

The staff go out of their way to make you feel special and are so courteous.

The staff are polite and helpful and many have a great sense of humour.

The greatest strength of the hotel is the staff.

Despite being a large and busy hotel the staff were really friendly and found the time to help.

Just back from pollensa park is amazing been going for 28years staff are excellent and so helpful from Vanessa and Catie on reception with lovely friendly welcome and Jaime on bar and dining room splash pool lovely addition for young families entertainment team work so hard to keep games going and always a laugh and food has really improved this year which is a bonus shows cabot are taking note of the problems great holiday Paterson and Arbuckle family
