I cannot fault this hotel in any way when it comes to service, cleanliness, facilities, location, food (which was amazing), atmosphere etc.

New and super clean, really, we can't fault it!.

Nevertheless the place is still as spotlessly clean and well looked after, as we both remember,

The whole place was absolutely spotless throughout our fortnights stay and smelled beautiful, In fact the fresh clean smell hit us (not overpowering though) as we stepped into the outside area from the street.

Rooms and pool area very clean and perfect service.

Food is excellent, cleanliness is excellent, and service is excellent!

Room was kept lovely and clean every day.

Food was great, even for a picky eater like myself, the room was spotless with a large balcony, and both pools were great, with exercise classes at one of the pools a few days a week which were so fun.

Hotel is welcoming and spotless with super staff who have a great attitude to their guests and are so helpful in every way.

Hotel is spotless, comfy beds, good shower, rooms cleaned every day.

The  pools were clean and well maintained.

The hotel is immaculate, the food is incredible and the people that work there are the most kindest helpful people we’ve ever met.

From Housekeeping upwards, they not only present themselves well, seem to be always smiling & friendly and will go out of their way to help in whatever way possible.

They were all so friendly and polite that it was an absolute joy to see them daily.

We went to Hotel Astoria Playa 14th July 2022, All I can say is lovely hotel and really friendly staff.

The staff was very friendly and hard working.

At the core of this hotel are the staff, always friendly, always courteous and always put your experience first.

Friendly helpful staff some have been working here for years.

The concierge were brilliant, nothing was a problem and they were all so friendly and welcoming.

Excellent attention to detail and friendly) I would employ these people in a minute a total credit to the hotel.

but the one element that makes this hotel so good is the staff, they are so genuine, pleasant, professional, friendly, always happy to talk and help whenever, there are many names but single one out, Chris at the resteraunt who always takes the time to know your name, say hello and even came out to say goodbye when we were leaving, this is a true reflection of the level of customer care from this hotel, well done!

We arrived early before the room was ready,  we were greeted by friendly reception staff offered a drink of cava/water and was allowed to use the changing room to freshen up and wait for our room.

The hotel was lovely as ever and great to see so many staff still there.We requested our rooms 325 and 327 which we always stay in and the hotel did not disappoint .The food and pool areas were superb and Chris was a pleasure to meet.So friendly and helpful and nothing was a problem to her.She is an asset to the hotel .A special thank you to Garcia,Delfina and Francisco the chef for making our holiday so memorable .We will see you all next year till then thank you for a fabulous stay .Fiona and Linton Findlay and Elaine Pitkeathley

We have lost count of the number of holidays we have had at this lovely hotel.

We would both agree that it was the most relaxing holiday we have ever been on and feel like we spent the fortnight in our own little bubble.

Wherever we go on holiday, this hotel is the standard that we go by.

Would recommend this to any couples looking for a relaxing break.

This was our first holiday abroad since the pandemic and wanted a relaxing chilled out time and that’s what we got, it’s great getting back to normal.

A perfect base for our cycling holiday with the onsite bike centre offering everything we needed. Amazing food (I can’t emphasise just how good the food is!)

Just two minutes walk from arguably the best beach in Majorca where you can stroll up to the port area of an evening if you want to..

If you are going to use the north of Mallorca as a base for a few days stay at the Astoria Playa.

Will alway return here when I am looking for a place to lay my head and park my bike in Mallorca!

There is a also a good 5k run from the hotel along the beach board walk to Port D’Alcudia and back🏃‍♀️Would not hesitate to return to this hotel and my husband will even be suggesting a Majorca trip for his cycling club at this hotel next year.😀🚴

Absolutely the best hotel we have stayed at in Mallorca.

As avid cyclists, my husband and I decided to go to Mallorca for our honeymoon.

This is a very good hotel especially for adult couples looking for a sunny break in Majorca.

I was looking for a hotel for myself and my girlfriend in Alcudia, Majorca for a five day break!

Cycling is easy in Mallorca and cars are very aware of cyclists.

I would argue that this hotel is the best value for money in Majorca.

We had such a fantastic stay and if we ever go back to Mallorca we will be back.

I deeply recommend for a relax and special vacations on one of the best and calm beaches in Mallorca.

The modern & extremely clean hotel is excellent for anyone wanting a perfect stay in Mallorca.

First holiday in Majorca,the good lady booked it what a surprise and what a hotel, amazing place, fantastic staff, nothing to much trouble, first class service in every department.

Much credit must go to the owner who had the vision and ability a few years ago to change ,what by all accounts a pretty average 3 star hotel, into one that is simply the best of its type in Mallorca and beyond.

I would recommend to take a rental car to get to perfect spots in this area of Majorca. P.S.

The hotel is just 2 mins from one of the best beaches in Mallorca.

Adults only, great staff, great food, great cocktails, great amenities.

The food is always excellent and there is a wide variety of each course to choose from.

I found many of the starters "show food", rather than items of substance; for heavens sake Prawn Cocktail, with 1 prawn in it??

This was our first visit to this excellent hotel , all the staff we met from reception to cleaning could not have been more helpful,

 there was always great variety of food available for breakfast and dinner, definitely one of the best hotels we have stayed in

Food - The food was absolutely out of this world.

I am gluten intolerant and every evening, a chef, either Jaume, Katja or Maribel took me around and explained what food was gluten free.

We had planned to eat out a couple of evenings

Food: We had half board; food is good quality and constantly topped up.

The staff, notably Garcia in the restaurant, Chris the restaurant host, and Nico on reception, were ALL lovely and always smiling and happy to help and serve.

Food is delicious with so many options for all tastes - back on a diet!

Food is excellent, and lots of choices, need to go back on the diet!!

The food was good and the buffet meant that you could eat as much or as little as you needed.

very tasty cocktails in the bar next to the stage and so beautiful shows every night

Easy for restaurants, the beach, supermarket and bus if you want to go further afield.

We stayed half board and the food was amazing, every night it felt like a proper dining experience.

Plenty of room in lounges, and plenty of sunbeds, good variety of drinks and coffee, also very good snack bar near one of the pools, not far from beach or bus services to Alcudia for the market, or to Palma.

The room was a good size and had everything we needed.

This room was a garden view and if you turned you head 90 degrees you could see a snippet of the pool.

Our room was ideal with a pool view and cleaned daily.

The rooms were great, very comfortable and pool view.

I really like Astoria hotel, amazing stuff, nice room and view from the room, amazing pool (music, aerobics), very comfy pool beds!

The staff are professional, welcoming, and attentive; from the people who care for the rooms to the management.

The rooms are well appointed and all have a pool view of some type.

We had room 605 which had great views overlooking the quieter pool.

Rooms are modern and excellent bed, TV with European and British TV.

Beds and all room facilities were amazing.

Onto the room, as I mentioned the room was spotless, cleaned everyday with clean towels, one or two issues with key card and air on playing up

This made it for us as we love dance chillout tunes and we felt like we had a little bit of Ibiza with us.

but we were so impressed we watched several of the acts twice.

First couple of nights was a lady singer with a band; very good and entertaining.

The entertainment at the hotel
was great and worth staying in to watch.

A transition from outdoor entertainment into bar entertainment would certainly keep people… entertained (for want of a better word).

It was overlooking the quiet pool with the added bonus of being able to watch the evening entertainment from our balcony.

Nightly entertainment was really good and varied

Entertainment- brilliant acts (not lookalikies) over a 7 day program 
I would highly recommend this hotel for time away. 👍

Would I stay again yes definitely (even with the bad entertainment).

The entertainment in the evening are a nice way to end you’re day.

It was a shame that some of the evening entertainment from previous years weren’t there this year

Also the entertainment was first class and we would not hesitate to highly recommend this excellent hotel.

Drummers in all the groups overpowered the other instrumentals and singers.

For us a big part of the experience is enjoying the evening entertainment.

The entertainment was good and we really enjoyed Von Bros.

It was a great opportunity to listen different talents and all nights were entertaining.

Room smelt of a dirty mop at all times and air con I think is non existent or they’re saving money on the efficiency of it.

I opened the door and smelled a properly made room for myself… ahh this feels like being home.

but at least whilst cavorting he wasn’t on the phone and or smoking and or watching videos out loud.

As usual the problem of guests smoking during the entertainment & by the pool is extremely annoying.

The only downside was the shower kept leaking water when we used it and the room smelt a bit like bug spray/mildew from the air con.

One tiny little moan about Spanish holdiays in general. ..smokers.

Our two suggestions for improvement would be:-

-Have dedicated smoking areas.

If there was one thing I could personally change that could make the hotel even better, classier and healthier - it would be to stop allowing smoking completely.

but if your a non smoker and find yourself surrounded by smokers then a little off putting.

Our only disappointment / irritation was the people virtually chain smoking on the balcony next to ours making it unpleasant to sit out there.

The only recommendation I would make is for the hotel to take a stand and prohibit smoking anywhere on hotel property.

One minor annoyance in the outside lounger area was that guests are allowed to smoke - we are not against anyone who smokes

but are directly above the entertainment area, so are subject to noise and cigarette smoke drifting upwards until 11pm each evening.

If we had moved much closer to the pool, the noise and smoke from the entertainment would have been unpleasant.

but generally Alcudia :

 • the smell of sewerage is definitely an issue here, especially first thing in a morning and of an evening.

******** What I didn't like *********

Smoking was allowed by the pool which I was not impressed with.

When we arrived, for about 3 days there was a disgusting smell coming up the drains in our room which was quite overwhelming at times and we struggled to sleep.

Apparently this has happened before and it's more of a local sewage issue just a shame because one of our nights it was so intense it literally woke us from our sleep, 

Adeline and Ismael were standout staff, always willing to help.

Staff are always helpful and polite and will help in anyway they can.

our 5th time here, staff excellent, always bright and cheerful.

These can be exchanged in the evening or during the day at reception.

It always seems unfair singling certain staff out, especially when all the staff are excellent,

Staff were excellent and couldn’t do enough for you.

Seemingly the owner was always around the hotel too, eating/drinking and observing and always said hello, showing the owners/managers care about our experience.

All of the staff went the extra mile to ensure that we had everything that we needed.

The waiter’s knowledge of the wine list was also really helpful in choosing the best wine for us.

There were a couple of niggles namely the air con wasn’t turned on in the hotel complex, which meant the nights were a little uncomfortable.

It is the effective use of that discretion that makes the difference between providing a good customer experience or a terrible customer experience.

During the night all you could hear was babies crying from the extreme heat and NO AIR CON.

The rooms are a basic finish, we had a hole in our bathroom ceiling, the air con was very loud and not very cold, ants in the room etc.

We were worried before we arrived having read some negative reviews regarding the air conditioning

Air con- people need to get over it now, it was broke they fixed it and gave everyone fans while they did so.

Hotel advised there were issues with the air con on arrival,

Cannot say enough good things about it - yes it got very hot while we were over there and the air con wasn't the best in public areas

to the point we had no air con for the first couple days and they went out purchasing I don't know how many fans to help cope with the heat (how can you complain when they try)?

although the hotel was adamant that we were only without air con for 5 days.

NEGATIVES

- The hotel aircon in 5 separate buildings had apparently failed completely for 4 days ( our room had none for 7 days) and the outside temperatures were between 31 & 36 degrees.

Reason for 4* and not 5 - we didn’t have air conditioning for numerous days, which made it unbearable anywhere that was indoors.

The hotel had to respond and put fans in peoples rooms while trying to deal with the issue.

At night they do allow you bigger glass drink    
Accommodation - NO AIRCON ANY WHERE.

Even with a fan we couldn’t sleep, tried outside, on the floor, basically 3 sleepless night till we came home.

Just returned from a week hols with family to the playa mar hotel, negatives, no air con in restaurant it is stifling and very uncomfortable, room air con not great neither.

The air conditioning doesn't work at all they have had issues the past 2 months on and off, nothing quite clearly has been done it's now Day 3 .

Air con broken and will not be fixed for ages according to several staff members.

Fabulous food, friendly staff throughout the hotel.

All the staff around the hotel were so friendly.

As other reviewers  have mentioned all staff were friendly and helpful, going out of their way to ensure we were enjoying our stay.

They are all so warm, friendly and professional.

Staff without exception were welcoming and friendly and seemed to genuinely wants guests to have the best holiday.

The swimming pool had plenty of water slides, a toddler pool and an adult pool too. The staff were super friendly (a big shout out to Nathy, Stefan and Nacho!)

The staff make the hotel really friendly especially for the kids and seem they enjoy their work environment which makes it easier for the parents.

Staff couldn’t do enough to help and always friendly and helpful.

All staff friendly and professional and you can tell there’s a real family feel amongst them.

Themed nights included Mexican/Indian/Moroccan/BBQ

I have to give Angie a special mention in the restaurant, she is an absolute credit to the hotel, so helpful, friendly and always smiling.

It's lovely to return and see so many familiar friendly faces.

The hotel is full of families with kids and it's a very friendly atmosphere.

We had a fantastic week at this hotel with our three children.

My husband ran along there everyday and we took a couple of strolls with our kids.

The rooms were spacious for us and our children and the facilities were excellent.

Although we were a group of adults we could see that families and children were especially well catered for; this hotel is a great spot for families.

Families were still around and the kids entertainment was active in the evening.

My partner and I, my daughter and her partner and our two wee grandsons (3) and 5 months.

The entertainment for the children in the evening was great.

The entertainment and kids activities were wonderful my daughter is usually quite shy

but two singles beds however they provided a cot for our toddler so it was all good.

My children (12,11,7 loved the chocolate bowl with the marshmallows).

but was more than happy with it, ideal for a cheeky siesta while the girls were chilling in the beautifully air conditioned room.

The staff were lovely throughout, really making an effort with my son!

Holiday was just fantastic, would recommend for family’s, especially if you have kids under 12/11.

We  were on a multi-generational family holiday with Great Grandparents, Grandparents,Parents and 5 children.

but still very good standard of food, 
The only thing I'd ask more of is things like CHICKEN NUGGETS AND THE FISH TYPE SHAPES for kids , especially in the evening as in the restaurant they didn't have them much .

FOOD - great good every day and the snack bar was good too. Although, it would be even better if the food at the snack bar was under lids that didn’t need lifting on and off each time as children (and adults!)

This hotel is a perfect choice for families with children.

Drinking good and food good for a all inclusive .. if you have younger children below 10 this hotel would be amazing.
