with all the members of staff being exceptionally friendly.

The staff are friendly and polite, the castle has a lovely atmosphere and beautiful decor.

The staff at the castle are some of the most helpful people we have come across, nothing was too much trouble and of a friendly nature which made our 3 night stay feel at home .

Very friendly staff , brilliant food , the view mind blowing , beautiful and I mean beautiful art.

We also had a lovely evening meal in the restaurant, with the most beautiful sea views, and staff are immensely friendly and helpful.

Fed up with all these brand new hotels with no character, extremely friendly staff.

Really nice location and the views from the hotel and grounds are fantastic the hotel is steeped in history from merlin to the history of the hotel and owners them selves the amount of stars that have stayed over the years is staggering the staff are so attentive and friendly and will try to do anything you ask the food was excellent and we would recommend this hotel and restaurant is well worth a visit

Hotel staff were friendly and accommodating.

The staff are extremely welcoming, friendly and attentive even bringing my luggage downstairs upon checking out as the one and only lift had been ‘out of order’ since the previous day.

The rooms are smelly and dirty with  weird paintings old furniture and 1970 style caravan bathrooms which are mouldy and rusty.

All the furniture in the “Grand room” is shabby and dirty along with the pictures that look like they were bought in a cheap tourist shop and are not fitting for the intended décor.

Carpet throughout the building is best described as threadbare at best and all the furniture in the rooms looks like it was found at the tip.

The furniture in our room is eclectic to say the least.

in our opinion it had seem better days, looking at TripAdvisor pictures the furniture hadn't been upgraded since 2015 !!

The hotel furniture in the lounge area was tiered & shabby.

Carpets are beyond threadbare and dangerous, furniture is junk shop rejects and mattresses should have been replaced 20 years ago.

Its true, the furniture is generally second hand shop old, and not the good quality, hidden gem stuff.

but that was the only nice thing, the other furniture in the room was old and shabby and the "bathroom" (if you could call it that) was shocking, the loo/sink and shower was a plastic porta cabbie, wall papered on the outside to try fitting it into the room!

The bedroom was a disgrace with what can only be described as an old camper van shower unit stuck in the corner, old furniture not fit to use, drab dirty carpets.

Please note, The furniture is very worn, the rooms and the rooms are VERY tired.

but dusty uncomfortable looking four poster bed and old but not nicely old furniture, stark walls and absolutely disgusting pink plastic arrangement posing as an en-suite.

Junk shop furniture in the bedroom (none of it matching).

However it was extremely dated dark furniture for such a small room old curtains and a strange modern lampshade.

The curtains were terrible and furniture cobbled together

It has a pebble-dash finish on the outside which clearly exhibits the evidence of its poor state of repair.

There was little else to choose from, pretty poor for £15.

However, the breakfasts were very very poor.

They want to show off their wealth outside with the poor old DB8 covered in a hideous wrap, and the helipad in case Donald Trump ever wants to stay.

Negatives:  bedroom window was painted shut so we could not enjoy the fresh sea air; bathroom was a shower room 'pod' so rather small; poor selection of vegan/veggie hot main courses in restaurant; good selection of shampoo etc

As for dinner, we’ll we never ate there because I just felt that the dinner menu did not reflect my expectations as to the price paid per night for the room, we certainly wasn’t expecting spaghetti Bolognese, chicken tikka & two stews to be on the dinner menu (poor choice of menu).

The tea and coffee tray was grubby and had an instruction card with coffee stains on it demonstrating to me poor attention to detail.

Breakfast was very poor for £17.50, it lacked choice no cereal on offer.

The rooms are extremely poor value for money and depressing,

Feel like the photo's misrepresented the hotel - expecting luxury - sorely disapointed

Neglected rooms that shouldn't be rented out unless at budget cost and clear that their condition is poor

After seeing all the poor reviews on this Hotel, I was a little worried about staying here.

The rooms are tired looking without much facilities with poor beddings, cruise style suitable bathroom holes, no fridge, and poor furniture.

Bathroom shower needs sealing and the water pressure is poor.

with dirty/shabby furniture, poor lighting and threadbare carpets., all originals no doubt

We were on the first floor, there was no sounds from people, staff etc it was just bliss.

if you like the repetitive subjects of what look like aliens shaking hands entitled "the circle of friendship" you'll be ok.

Cobwebs on the exterior landing windows that Miss Haversham would have been proud of.

Having paid £450 for 3 nights breakfast not included,convinced I could find better with breakfast included.the beds were nothing special creaked as if they had wear and tear, I sat on the bed sounded like it was broke,the room had nothing going for it other than the view was dismal,had to put a wedge in window it was banging when wind blew.

No sound insulation from rooms above or next door.

Most upsetting was the noise coming from the top floor where the owners reside.

but could still hear water rushing through the pipes that ran from the other floor through the room.

but early in the morning we could hear what is best described as Mrs women next door getting murdered then claiming she had found religion by shout "OH MY GOD YES YES YES", her partner was very athletic as this continued for sometime.

Ask to see your room before you pay, some were not happy with their bathrooms etc.

We I believe in an adjoining room, which was fine until the last night, the walls must be really thin as could here everything the people in the next room were saying and the snoring!!!!!

Absolutely shocking rude & obnoxious behaviour from the 2 co owners we were enjoying a quiet dinner when he decided to hold a business meeting on speaker phone it was like dom Jolly we tolerated for over 10 minutes then asked the waitress if we could move to the bar 4 our desserts the other owner approached us & proceeded to berate us saying he was an important man who had averted 3 world wars??

a home with a beautifully toned grand piano - that the more talented of us may have entertained others with - and can you believe it a room that old with floorboards that do not creak and wake your wife when they are deep asleep!

Carpets in the rooms had holes in them, lights were hanging off or not working and we had to stand one of the 'dining room' chairs in front of the wardrobe to stop it opening and squeaking very loudly.

Unfortunately it had the worst soundproofing from the rooms above, so we were kept awake several nights by the running of the toddler upstairs.

Owners kids play on the stairs, jumping around, being noisy, etc.

Down in the cellar which houses his studio and some artwork, we were given a private tour, invited to hear him sing and given an interesting perspective of his artwork using a light box.

So we had to keep curtains drawn for any privacy and we had shut  the window on the hottest day of the year because of next room guests noise.

The shower was 2ftx2ft cold and flooded the floor, which the bathroom was the size of an airplane toilet!Wifi in room didn’t work.

Which made our experience warm and heart-opening
The rooms preserve the original design combined with a luxurious level of comfort.

We had an opportunity to have a look at two of the rooms and all I can say is we were so lucky not to have to stay.

The room was excellent, with spacious bathroom, separate shower, bidet , and spa bath.

but our room (apparently still to be refurbished) was lovely.

Any requests for our room were dealt with promptly and efficiently, and there were staff visible constantly cleaning throughout our stay.

We spent a weekend here in a queen room with sea views and we were not disappointed.

The room was fantastic, I asked for a sea view and it couldn’t have been any better than what were were given, everything was clean and neat.

Had 3 bedrooms, a kitchen, and a living room.

We booked a standard twin bed room with en suite bathroom, flat screen tv, etc.

The rooms are amazing stunning four poster bed and views.

There was a DVD player in the room and a plentiful supply of dvds to watch on the landing.

We arrived and checked in, and were shown to the stairs leading to our room.

The room was very clean, and well furnished.

Comfortable rooms, excellent food and fantastic views from the public rooms and all our bedrooms.

We had room 103 with a dual aspect view which was spectacular

We were greeted by the building in all its glory.

As soon as I entered Camelot Castle I experienced a feeling of being at home, the staff like family and I felt perfectly at ease.

Laughed it off and found somewhere in the village for dinner.

The Camelot Castle Hotel is a magical place to visit and it’s owner and artist in residence - Ted Stourton - is a lovely, kind and generous man.

The staff and owners are super kind and really great hosts who make you feel at home for your entire staying.

The short-handed staff is curt and hurried.

I have verified that this happens as I did it again when I got home.

When we arrived here the welcome was very warm and welcoming.

Absolutely delighted with the service we had from the staff, the location is amazing and I recommend I stay at this terrific hotel.

Ted and his team were all very welcoming.

The staff were courteous, engaging and helpful from the moment we arrived.

Atmosphere is so relaxed and staff go above and beyond to ensure your stay is perfect.

Through one window we had a beautiful view of the sunset over Tintagel Castle (legendary home of King Arthur) and others the rugged Cornish coastline and countryside.

The one we opted for had been very recently renovated and was spotless, with a direct view of Tintagel Castle.

A wonderful weekend was had at the Camelot Castle hotel overlooking the sea and Tintagel Castle.

It overlooked the Tintagel Castle ruins and the Atlantic ocean.

We went looking for Tintagel Castle ruins and found this beautiful Hotel.

We stayed for New Year’s Eve gala dinner, stayed two nights, absolutely fabulous, walked around Tintagel Castle and cliffs a must with breathtaking views.

My husband and I have recently come home from two lovely nights away at this amazing hotel,full of character .charm and the history of Tintagel castle.

The location of the hotel couldn’t be more perfect, we had a double sea view room and it was just stunning waking up to the ocean view, we could also see the tintagel castle  island from our room.

To watch the sun set over Tintagel Castle from the terrace and then wake to see the same view just different time of day.

We had a lovely view of the coastline from our room and had the opportunity in the evening to see Tintagel Castle once all the visitors had gone home.

although it is very close by Tintagel Castle.

But the window sills were deep, deep enough to sit in, and admire that Million dollar view of Tintagel Castle.

There is a fantastic view of Tintagel Castle from here and spectacular sunsets.

The views from the hotel over Tintagel Castle are stunning

The location is superb: overlooking Tintagel castle, with immediate access to the Southwest Coastal path.

The location is breathtaking; the hotel is situated on a cliff overlooking the ruins of Tintagel Castle, Merlin's Cave and the Atlantic Ocean.

This hotel is in a lovely position on the cliff and an imposing building , convenient for Tintagel Castle.

You can take long walks along the cliffs and even spend whole days on rocks looking at the sea, the cliffs, draw, meditate and engage into activities that fill your soul.

We overlooked the Atlantic ocean and Tintagle castle itself.

The bedroom included a four-poster bed and amazing views.

The location of the castle is 10/10 the views are stunning and ideal for sunset moments.

The hotel commands some of the best views I have come across.

Our north facing room gave us the most stunning views of the sea, breaking against a small island offshore, from which we never tired of looking.

Most certainly the most attractive thing about this hotel is the stunning views .

I like to give credit where I can so let me start by something positive;
The location is exceptional and the views are stunning.

Even had a view of the castle ruins and spectacular view of the ocean.

The weather that day turned for the worse with wind a gales, I spent the day out to find the gale was blowing through my closed window, free air conditioning 🤣 so used the hand towel  to plug the drafts.

We suspect the authors of the negative views are not the type of character to appreciate the work involved, whilst enjoying the views through a curved sash window!

I opened the window and fell asleep to the sound of the sea.

Even the curtains were too small for the window and looked cheap.

Only ONE window 1' x 2'was capable of opening ~ With record temperatures outside it was stiffling hot.

Curtains not hung properly, some frayed at the edges.

Leaking windows, a crass oversized TV preset to GB news, a caravan-style wet room for an ensuite, dust, flaking paint and wallpaper.

the shower is about 12 inches wide when the curtain is closed, so you are battling with wet curtain while showering, the water

but through the window the owner shrugged and appeared grumpy to me when I was only asking what time they opened.

You'd be as well to S**T in a bucket and throw it at the dirty windows, maybe someone had.

but the poorly fitted window frame was not great, howling through the night.

however our bedroom was the most uninviting room I’ve ever stayed in, everything down to the curtains looks as if it’s from a second hand shop & the bathroom ….. well now I know why there are no pictures on the hotels site showing bathrooms.

but only one window in the room opened as the other is painted shut.

Book a window table for dinner if you’re dining before dark.

but pretty hard to see them through the dirty windows!

Speaking of airing, I was able to get a window open, an ancient Victorian sash affair that might fall out at any time.

The food is ordered at the bar, so at busy times there will be a queue.

Note to all, it is busy until about 7:30 currently due to demand

Very busy - lots of people visiting leading to long meal times (1hr+ wait).

but he looked so busy, I don’t know how he coped.

It is extremely busy so I would advise booking if possible.

We were refused drinks again as they were " too busy to serve us"

There’s a reduced menu and longer wait times when it’s busy so just plan for this, go outside the busy times and order 2 drinks at a time 🤪 

So no, it’s not as great as it has been,

Having approached the duty manager for a refund, she had the excuse that they were busy (it was not peak hours and many tables were empty) and because we ordered it with the mains, it must have been missed.

The pub was very busy for lunch, showing how popular it is locally.

Waited 45 minutes for chips on a not very busy afternoon.

As it was so busy, it meant the queue for the bar took about 45-1hr stood in a line and food was no less than 45’ wait.

but I suspect in busy periods, these will be taken by selfish drivers who are not staying at the place.

We ordered some food and despite it being busy were served promptly.

but it was a very busy place at night, and I could see why.

So you may need to be prepared for a bit of a wait at busy times.

We’ve always received a warm and friendly welcome here

We were welcomed by a friendly, efficient girl and shown to our room with a direct sea view and soft bed.

This delightful Inn is run by a lovely friendly couple.

The staff were very helpful and friendly.

The staff are friendly and highly motivated to provide excellent service.

Service friendly, polite and efficient especially given they were short staffed.

The staff were friendly and always helpful.

Friendly staff and good food with amazing views, visited twice this week 1st time are outside and then in the bar.

but the staff were consistently helpful, friendly and made us feel nothing was a bother to them.

The managers and staff could not have been more friendly and helpful, even giving us detailed advice about walking routes.

Had a lovely meal in the evening overlooking the Ocean , very friendly service.

The accommodation is excellent very clean and comfortable, food is very good and staff very hard working, helpful and friendly - nothing is too much trouble.

but we received a very friendly welcome and checked in straight away.

The location is Cornwall coast at its best, the room (6) was clean and comfortable, the food morning and evening was excellent and the staff very friendly and most helpful.

It is a fabulous coastal location in Cornwall, with a great beach, superb views from all the 9 rooms and great food.

Comfy, clean and well decorated rooms; good food (awesome breakfasts on our most recent visit); wonderful location with a vast stretch of pristine, golden sand at low tide and exhilarating coastal walks when the tide is in and the beach disappears!

We had a fantastic two nights in the most perfect location.

Stunning location with the best views over the beach, lovely to just sit and watch the waves and the beautiful sunsets.

The position of the pub is exceptional and we really enjoyed watching the sunset and the surfers.
