The included breakfast had plenty of options, good coffee, and it was a highlight being able to eat outside in the garden full of lemon trees.

Very welcoming staff, rooms are very clean, great shower, great location,15 min walk to Pompeii archeology site, nice garden at the back, breakfast is a bargain at 5 euro as most places charge more.

In the back is a nice garden area where you can relax.

They serve beverages both alcoholic and non-alcoholic in the garden.

Plus there is a lovely back garden to unwind after a busy day of exploring.

Pretty good breakfast spread and great coffee. Take bug spray for sitting in the garden with a glass of the wine made at the Winery owned by the same family 🍷 (tours and tasting available!)

They also had a nice little garden area you could sit in and the service was great, the staff was very attentive.

The rooms are very clean and functional and we don't spend a lot of time in the room any way - we spent most of our time in the lovely court yard.

Had an amazing time in Pompei over Easter- The staff at Hotel Diana were so helpful- nothing was too much trouble.The Hotel was within walking distance of two train lines and was very easy to access.The rooms were clean though a little dark

I booked a small room for single travellers, I think.

Their website states the Diana Inn is "spacious and bright", this is the complete opposite of what we were given, the room was small and dark !

The rooms are really tiny, you can almost get into the shower,  the breakfast minimal, the so-called bar is part of the reception desk and the only public room is about 2m x 3m with a sofa.

Small room, tiny bathroom, shower squeezed into corner of bathroom (impossible for oversized or pregnant), uncomfortable bed, TV screen size of portable computer (in corner on top of cupboard), no water or safe in room, cloths instead of towels.

Finally a few downsides: the rooms are tiny, the beds not fabulous, and the parking scary-challenging for Americans with a minivan (for our luggage--six people).

The hotel itself is quite modest with small rooms and no English speaking TV channels.

Our room was as small as a cracker box and the TV was the size of   Bread box.

Its conveniently only a 10 minute walk from the entrance to the archeological ruins, as well as being near restaurants and one of the main train stations.

you can also get the train from here to Napoli and with a ten minute walk get the transfer to Napoli Aeroporto.

It was also convenient to take a train to visit the Ercolano archeological site on one of the days.

Location 100 yds from train, parking, elevator, a/c and breakfast.

The hotel is a 5 min walk to Pompei train station, at that station trains will take you Naples,Ercolano and Salerno.

Really good, friendly base for an independent trip to see all that the Bay of Naples has to offer. 3 minutes walk from the mainline train station (clean, reliable, air-conditioned trains) with easy links into Naples and the bus transfer from the airport (which resembles a rugby scrum!)

The main Train station (not the Scavi station) is literally around the corner allowing trips to Naples on uncrowded air conditioned trains and the Citcumvesuviana train station is a 5 minute walk.

Hotel Diana is a 15-minute walk to the ruins at Pompeii, a three-minute walk to trains that will carry you to the Greek ruins at Paestum or into Naples, and just around the corner (almost literally) from three first-rate restaurants.

Situated near main line train and easy walking distance of local trains.

The hotel is a great location 2 min walk from the train station granting great access to surrounding  towns and cheap rail prices with regular trains every 30 mins also the hotel is surrounded by bars and restaurants for those not wanting to walk too far after a long day site seeing .

We got the train to Sorrento which was so easy and only 4 euros and 30 mins!

From Pompeii, I was also able to take the train to Sorrento and Naples.

We had flown into Naples that morning and arrived in Pompei via the Circumvesuviana train line which is a 15min walk to the hotel.

They recommended places to visit and had really helpful advice on how to get there, including letting me know of an easier and quicker train route to Naples Museum than the one I had planned.

Francesca and staff very helpful, clean and comfy, bed comfortable, close to ruins town centre and trains, private car park was very handy, breakfast was plentifull

10 mins walk to ruins and 2 mins from station for trains to Herculaneum and Naples.

Concierge:  The staff really helped us organise our 2 days with the Pompeii private tour and Herculaneum transport (senior person was with us so we didn't want to do the train,

The location is perfect, a 20 minute walk from the main entrance of the archaeological park, near great restaurants, and right around the corner from the train station.

The location is very close to the Pompei train station and also the new town square and with in walking distance to the Ruins of Pompei.

We selected Hotel Diana due to its reasonable prices, consistent good reviews, and proximity to the train station for day trips to other nearby areas.

This hotel was a gem of a find not far to walk from the train station on arrival and close to the ruins.

The Hotel Diana is located about a 5 min walk from the train station.

The train station is around the corner and very easy to navigate.

Train station is 5 minute walk and the ruins 10-15 minutes walk away.

The hotel is nicely tucked away down a side street and very close to and easy to find from the train station.

We liked this place, at 100 meters from the national railway station, yet perfectly quiet; at a few hundred meters from Pompei's center and from one of the entrances to the archaeological site; with very kind receptionists, a clean and nice room, a reasonable price.

It's right by the train station and just down the street from the ruins.

It was in an excellent position in Pompeii with the main line station about 200m away, one of the the main eatery strips at the end of the street and only a short walk to the ruins and the second train station.

There is a train station around the corner which is handy for visiting Naples, Herculaneum and Salerno.

Room was ok, breakfast was adequate, location is perfect train station is only 2-3 minutes, pompei ruins 10-15 minutes and staff was so helpful they were wonderful.

Location is very close to the Pompeii ruins, cathedral and the train station.

The walls are extremely thin and it was difficult to sleep at night and if you are assigned a room on the first floor you will hear everything from the breakfast room in the basement.

The walls are thick, and the noise from outside was minimal.

As said by a previous previewers very small TV's stuck high on walls and basic Italian channels only.

However, our room was very dark (very little natural light and lights with very low wattage bulbs) with lots of mosquitos and the walls were so thin we could hear not only the television of the room next door

Walls paper thin so don't say or do anything you will be ashamed of at breakfast next morning.

The rooms are a little dull (yellow wash on the walls)

That's not necessarily the fault of the hotel, and thin walls are common everywhere,

The walls are quite thin, so we could hear our neighbors talking quite late at night.

The walls were beat up and desperately needed painting.

A few bangs on the wall finally shut them up.

I have given this 3 out of 5 as the walls in the rooms are incredibly thin and for us this meant being kept awake by our neighbour's screaming child all through the night.

but it appeared to be the noise of the cleaning crew or some inner functioning of the hotel that would reverberate at times down the hall or through the walls and into out room.

Our ensuite bathroom even had a hairdryer in the wall!

Would have given this hotel 5 stars if not for the room's thin walls.

The TV in Room 1 was mounted so high on the wall over the wardrobe as to be practically unseeable from the double bed.

though you can't make out the words) through the walls - and the water from neighbours' bathrooms is very noisy as it rushes through the pipes in the walls.

Threre is a very small tv in the room with no English-language channels, and thin walls pass interior noise from room to room.

Only a little noisy due to thin walls and proximity to the train station,

The walls, though, are thin : you'll hear your neighbour's tvs and conversations.

The hotel location is in great proximity to the beach, the marina and even has an entrance form the main square.

The hotel is perfectly located near the beach and offers one of the best views in Positano.

Do yourself a favor and stay close to the beach to avoid all the stairs and crowds- it was very busy and hot! Also the hotel provides beach bags and towels which was amazing and we used these everyday, and brought on our boat tour to Capri (which I also highly recommend!)

This is a really nice place to come and stay and is the closest to the beach that you can get.

but this one offers the ease of access (you don't have to climb a ton of stairs), close to the beach, but quiet, great food and helpful staff!

What a location in Positano right on beach close to the Ferry Terminal, boat hire, and right in centre of town.

It has changed little and my is a beautiful hotel very close to the beach do and ferries.

Close to beach and ferries, plenty of shops and restaurants to choose from.

Fantastic hotel located in Pasitano close to the beach and all activities.

The hotel is as close as it gets to the beach,

And I cannot recommend strongly enough how good it was to be so close to the beach and ferry on the warm days of late summer.

The location was fantastic and its proximity to the beach made for easy access for boat tours and beach clubs.

Bottom line, I would definitely recommend staying at Buca di Bacco while in Positano, especially if you want to be close to the beach.

We loved the location - very close to the beach.

I am so happy we chose to be near the beach rather than higher up on the hill at a different property.

It was in the perfect location, which was down on the beach as well as being close to all of the shops.

The terrace, restaurants and roof top had the closest panoramic Amalfi coast views.

Our rooms were gorgeous and very comfortable, overlooking the beach and cathedral.

We were lucky enough to have a view that overlooked the beach and the view was fantastic, the balcony big and room huge.

It's perfectly situated, overlooking the beach and pier, with views also up to the classic Positano houses and hotels on their steep cliff setting.

We enjoyed the buffet breakfast with a view looking out to the beach each morning also.

The class was excellent and we got to eat what we made at a great table overlooking the beach.

Their veranda overlooks the beach where you can have a cocktail before or with dinner.

Location is perfect, down overlooking the beach, easy to access the beach, boat jetty, restaurants.

Went out to our terrace to see stunning views which overlooked the beach.

Our rooms had a balcony that had an amazing view of the beach.

The breakfast buffet is great and you can sit on the patio overlooking the beach.

Our room had a beautiful beach and ocean view with a large patio and huge french doors that we kept open most of the time.

There were breathtaking views of the beach and town from the hotel’s breakfast terrace.

Breakfast was amazing and breakfast terrace overlooking beach and ocean as well.

It had a non interrupted view from the top of the mountains to the sea and beach in front of our room.

When we went to breakfast the next morning we were welcomed back and treated like gold by Salvatore at the lavish breakfast on the beautiful patio overlooking the beach and the sea!

I told him that I did pay and if he needs to see the receipt I would show it on my way out in the morning (the front desk is two elevator rides away).

The hotel provides beach towels if need and you only need to take the elevator down to the beach, breakfast buffet has all you wish for, so you hardly need to plan for lunch anymore.

Depending on which room you have, you may have to do like us and take 2 separate elevators along with a labyrinth of hallways.

but a good location down the hall from loud elevators.

To get to our room from the lobby was a short walk to a lift that went up two levels, then in to another lift and up another 2 levels and along a long corridor.

though the entrance is on ground level, these rooms are in the 2 adjacent buildings that are much higher, needing 2 elevators to get to.

Our room was accessed by 2 elevator rides,

We were shown to our room up a series of corridors and two lifts and when we got to our room we said WOW.

In the hallway to our first elevator (there were two because we were in the awesome upper tier)  was a letter from John Steinbeck to the Hotel Buca di Bacco just after he won the 1962 Nobel Prize for literature:
<i>I wish I were sitting in front of the Buca at this moment.

and to get up to our room with quite a hike if you dont use the elevator which we did not.

I should have known walking in as there was an overwhelming smell of "Glade" room freshener that was clearly covering up the scent of sewage in the main hallway leading to the elevator.

This meant that there was no way to walk through the hotel without using a series of elevators, stairs and corridors.

The only negative aspect about the hotel is the two elevators you have to take to your room since the buildings are separated from one another along the cliff of the city.

We took an elevator in the main hotel to an upper floor and transferred to another elevator to get to our room.

Took two elevator rides to get to the room, a little lengthy process several times daily

We stayed here on the final leg of an Italian holiday, The hotel is good, some frustrations with the lift situation, (they don't have enough) The breakfast service makes Fawlty Towers look efficient

Because of the hill and the hotel configuration, we had to take two elevators to get to our room, which was a little annoying,

though the hotels corridors, to our room (which was placed on the top floor), was a good experience, in it self, due to small details (paintings, the mosaic on the elevator floor, etc.).

The lifts were small for the amount of traffic that used them.

Buca Di Bacco does not have a pool, spa, or exercise room while others nearby of the same caliber do.

I do wish there was a pool because to access the beach and get a chair you have to pay for it, Its not part of the hotel which looks deceiving in pictures.

There is no pool which is why we  moved hotel 

Only other thing to think about is there is no pool

If this hotel had a few additional amenities such as a pool it would beat le Sireneuse.

My family and I arrived expecting accurate information on ferry tickets, pool towels, airport transfers and even not advising you that tour guides and laundry charges will need to be paid in cash on check out.

When booking this hotel, one should also be aware that there is no pool at this property.

- And another thing is that it dosent have a pool.

It could only have been made better if there was a pool as the beach arrangements were not great (this had nothing to do with the hotel).

although the one "fault" was that it did not have a swimming pool so that may sway some guests towards an alternate property.

Though not a downside at all, just so that people know, there is no gym or pool here.

The only downside to this hotel is that they don't have a pool.

The Great- our room was clean, amazing ocean view, great breakfast also overlooking the ocean, the staff.

Room was clean and Classicly styled, and we loved our little terrace to look out at the ocean every morning and evening!

The rooms was very clean and decent size.

Maid-service was efficient ; the room was spotlessly clean and towels etc.

Rooms are very clean and equipped with everything you would expect in a grand hotel.

When we checked-in, we were told to go to the otherwise lovely terrace at the back of the hotel facing the beach between 5pm and 7pm for a free welcome drink.

The terrace for breakfast and drinks has such a beautiful view of the water we could not resist sitting outside.

Breakfast was included in our rate; it was outstanding every morning and was served on the terrace overlooking the ocean, a really amazing start to each day.

We were lucky to have great views of the National holiday (Feragusta) fireworks on the terrace!

The view of the sea while eating on the terrace is unbeatable.

The view from the terrace of the coast, Positano and the ferry port was breathtaking.

The location is the best, and the views are simply beautiful from our balcony, and from the restaurant terrace.

The room (29) is very modern, new fixtures and fittings, great sea view from the terrace, it is just in the style of the region with yellow and blue tiles.

but it is a big restaurant so opt to have dinner on the terrace, which has a much better setting.

Breakfast was on a terrace, again overlooking the views, with a fascinating machine to press your own orange juice and a constant supply of cappuccinos from the attentive, friendly staff.

There was a door by our room that led up to a fabulous terrace over looking the ocean with lounge chairs where we did not see another person.

We booked a room with a terrace sea view and it was definitely worth it!

We requested that our room be close to theirs and were put in rooms 23 and 26 which are located on the  garden terrace , which is very private  and has an amazing view over the whole of Positano .

Just magnificent with great rooms , great restaurant and Terrace where you can sit , eat and people watch just perfect

Excellent service, food and atmosphere (indoor is luxurious and outside on the terrace is elegant ocean view dining).
