Very welcoming staff, rooms are very clean, great shower, great location,15 min walk to Pompeii archeology site, nice garden at the back, breakfast is a bargain at 5 euro as most places charge more.

The rooms are clean and the bathrooms were very nice and had everything you would need.

Had an amazing time in Pompei over Easter- The staff at Hotel Diana were so helpful- nothing was too much trouble.The Hotel was within walking distance of two train lines and was very easy to access.The rooms were clean though a little dark

I booked a small room for single travellers, I think.

Their website states the Diana Inn is "spacious and bright", this is the complete opposite of what we were given, the room was small and dark !

The rooms are really tiny, you can almost get into the shower,  the breakfast minimal, the so-called bar is part of the reception desk and the only public room is about 2m x 3m with a sofa.

Small room, tiny bathroom, shower squeezed into corner of bathroom (impossible for oversized or pregnant), uncomfortable bed, TV screen size of portable computer (in corner on top of cupboard), no water or safe in room, cloths instead of towels.

Finally a few downsides: the rooms are tiny, the beds not fabulous, and the parking scary-challenging for Americans with a minivan (for our luggage--six people).

The hotel itself is quite modest with small rooms and no English speaking TV channels.

Our room was as small as a cracker box and the TV was the size of   Bread box.

The walls are extremely thin and it was difficult to sleep at night and if you are assigned a room on the first floor you will hear everything from the breakfast room in the basement.

The walls are thick, and the noise from outside was minimal.

As said by a previous previewers very small TV's stuck high on walls and basic Italian channels only.

However, our room was very dark (very little natural light and lights with very low wattage bulbs) with lots of mosquitos and the walls were so thin we could hear not only the television of the room next door

Walls paper thin so don't say or do anything you will be ashamed of at breakfast next morning.

That's not necessarily the fault of the hotel, and thin walls are common everywhere,

The walls are quite thin, so we could hear our neighbors talking quite late at night.

The walls were beat up and desperately needed painting.

A few bangs on the wall finally shut them up.

I have given this 3 out of 5 as the walls in the rooms are incredibly thin and for us this meant being kept awake by our neighbour's screaming child all through the night.

but it appeared to be the noise of the cleaning crew or some inner functioning of the hotel that would reverberate at times down the hall or through the walls and into out room.

Our ensuite bathroom even had a hairdryer in the wall!

Would have given this hotel 5 stars if not for the room's thin walls.

The TV in Room 1 was mounted so high on the wall over the wardrobe as to be practically unseeable from the double bed.

though you can't make out the words) through the walls - and the water from neighbours' bathrooms is very noisy as it rushes through the pipes in the walls.

Threre is a very small tv in the room with no English-language channels, and thin walls pass interior noise from room to room.

Only a little noisy due to thin walls and proximity to the train station,

The walls, though, are thin : you'll hear your neighbour's tvs and conversations.

I told him that I did pay and if he needs to see the receipt I would show it on my way out in the morning (the front desk is two elevator rides away).

The hotel provides beach towels if need and you only need to take the elevator down to the beach, breakfast buffet has all you wish for, so you hardly need to plan for lunch anymore.

Depending on which room you have, you may have to do like us and take 2 separate elevators along with a labyrinth of hallways.

but a good location down the hall from loud elevators.

To get to our room from the lobby was a short walk to a lift that went up two levels, then in to another lift and up another 2 levels and along a long corridor.

though the entrance is on ground level, these rooms are in the 2 adjacent buildings that are much higher, needing 2 elevators to get to.

Our room was accessed by 2 elevator rides,

We were shown to our room up a series of corridors and two lifts and when we got to our room we said WOW.

In the hallway to our first elevator (there were two because we were in the awesome upper tier)  was a letter from John Steinbeck to the Hotel Buca di Bacco just after he won the 1962 Nobel Prize for literature:
<i>I wish I were sitting in front of the Buca at this moment.

and to get up to our room with quite a hike if you dont use the elevator which we did not.

I should have known walking in as there was an overwhelming smell of "Glade" room freshener that was clearly covering up the scent of sewage in the main hallway leading to the elevator.

This meant that there was no way to walk through the hotel without using a series of elevators, stairs and corridors.

The only negative aspect about the hotel is the two elevators you have to take to your room since the buildings are separated from one another along the cliff of the city.

We took an elevator in the main hotel to an upper floor and transferred to another elevator to get to our room.

Took two elevator rides to get to the room, a little lengthy process several times daily

We stayed here on the final leg of an Italian holiday, The hotel is good, some frustrations with the lift situation, (they don't have enough) The breakfast service makes Fawlty Towers look efficient

Because of the hill and the hotel configuration, we had to take two elevators to get to our room, which was a little annoying,

though the hotels corridors, to our room (which was placed on the top floor), was a good experience, in it self, due to small details (paintings, the mosaic on the elevator floor, etc.).

The lifts were small for the amount of traffic that used them.

Buca Di Bacco does not have a pool, spa, or exercise room while others nearby of the same caliber do.

I do wish there was a pool because to access the beach and get a chair you have to pay for it, Its not part of the hotel which looks deceiving in pictures.

There is no pool which is why we  moved hotel 

Only other thing to think about is there is no pool

If this hotel had a few additional amenities such as a pool it would beat le Sireneuse.

My family and I arrived expecting accurate information on ferry tickets, pool towels, airport transfers and even not advising you that tour guides and laundry charges will need to be paid in cash on check out.

When booking this hotel, one should also be aware that there is no pool at this property.

- And another thing is that it dosent have a pool.

It could only have been made better if there was a pool as the beach arrangements were not great (this had nothing to do with the hotel).

although the one "fault" was that it did not have a swimming pool so that may sway some guests towards an alternate property.

Though not a downside at all, just so that people know, there is no gym or pool here.

The only downside to this hotel is that they don't have a pool.

The Great- our room was clean, amazing ocean view, great breakfast also overlooking the ocean, the staff.

Room was clean and Classicly styled, and we loved our little terrace to look out at the ocean every morning and evening!

The hotel moved us to another annex with a sea view which was far better, the rooms themselves were very clean and spacious, the food excellent, they did  an al a carte menu every second night which we really enjoyed, drinks plentiful and always lots of bar and restaurant staff on duty.

A cleaner tended to the room, the bed was completely remade and the room was spotless within 10 minutes.

Hotel pool pictures I would say is deceiving, pool is small

but not fabulous, the outdoor pool was tiny and the indoor pool and spa have gone.

The small pool, stony beach and private beachfront sun beds offer peaceful sunbathing except when the public beach fills to capacity at weekends/holidays!!

I must say I was quite disappointed when I discovered my room, quite small for the price paid

The shower was also very small and the door had mold.

The room we were given needed a face lift, shower was very small and old.

Now, besides being small the shower drain was not working properly, so it kept holding more water then it should.

Now I am only 5'6" & 148 lbs so that gives you an idea of how small the shower is.

however are so small and cramped, dark, no view, and the shower is so small you can't stand without the shoeer curtain sticking to you so gross!

Breakfast was simple and the rooms small and comforable.

The economy room is very small and tight for two people with no views only a small window near the ceiling, so one should try and book the bigger room with balcony which seemed much nicer

My only "complaint" and honestly I didnt even care that much was the breakfast could definitely be a bit better and healthier and our room was a bit small.

Our room was on the small single lane road which runs through Positano about 1.5 floors up from street level.

Standard double room was very very small.

The room was a small and basic with no view.

The drainage system was not working properly and our shower would overflow and then water would go all on the floor.

Store bought pastries stale and not a good selection.

but at least we didn't have to trek our butts too far back up the steep hill getting home!

Our bathroom also had some grout mold in the shower, which made it seem less than clean.

Also, there was a slight musty smell in the room.

Downside is it's fairly budget, rooms are basic and ours smelt a little damp.

Our room did have a damp water smell to it so perhaps there was a problem with the drainage

but one of them had a smell of humidity unfortunately.

Only con, is it was a bit noisy near the stairs.

You also hear a lot of the noise from the cars on the street.

however, this was not an issue for us as the sound really died down by about 11pm each night.

The only real negative is that our room was located on the fourth floor right underneath the restaurant, and the sound of setting up for breakfast was quite loud in our room and would wake us up every morning.

On our check out our car was brought to us with our bags carried to the car and they assisted us getting out our space in the traffic.

The superior rooms with large sea view balconies are on lower floors are very noisy because of the road.

Only downside was occasionally a noisy neighbour/kids . .

although we could hear our neighbours talking.

but the walls and ceilings are paper-thin, so you can hear everything from all your neighbor (sleeping in is therefore not an option).

I don’t think I would stay here again for one reason-that being the amount of noise you hear from your room.

Rooms had a little street noise and smaller bed (we're both very tall),

I mean eg. comments about the noise from the road ( the windows are absolutely sound proof when closed ) or that somebody locked himself out on the balcony, because of the funny functioning of the door lock (completely impossible now with the balcony door closing system present.)

but not too close to hear all the noise and tourist.

However, this hotel is on an extremely busy road and the rooms are noisy from the traffic all night long.

Minor annoyance is traffic on main road running right in front of hotel.

However, there are of course lots of steps, narrow paths (or none at all), and plenty of traffic to negotiate.

As the hotel is on the main road there is traffic daily noise at the front of the hotel.

In couple of hours we noticed a lot of noise coming from the elevator as we were given a room next to the elevator.

The only negative is it's located on the main road so there was some noise that you could heard from the traffic
