TONY IS THE BREAKFAST GENERAL IN CHARGE AND HIS PERSONALITY IS BIGGER THAN LIFE..WE LOVE HIM AND HIS SERVICE TEAM.

I even saw them make a guy an omelette to go for his wife who was still sleeping.

The complimentary breakfast each morning was delicious and the view was perfection.

Luca was our waiter and the food was delicious.

Tony at breakfast was awesome and even got a whole lot of options for my gluten free daughter.

They had a beautiful breakfast upstairs on the top floor overlooking the Mediterranean.

Breakfast was included at the hotel and Tony and his staff made each morning special.

From Mario at the reception desk, the bellman who takes your luggage to the room, housekeeping and Tony and Chris in the restaurant at breakfast and lunch.

You will not be disappointed… breakfast was the best we have ever had.

As a bonus, breakfast with Tony was probably the best part of our day.

And the breakfast was great, the server named Tony made sure you had a very good meal in the morning and always tried to help out from Nutella for kids to Babyccinos and omelettes.

The restaurant both for dinner and breakfast is great.

Such amazing and attentive service and the breakfast spread was so delicious!

The breakfast buffet is amazing with basically almost anything you could want.

In the morning the rooftop restaurant is a great place to start the day with a great buffet with many options.

Awesome restaurants, breakfasts, wine and olive oil tasting with Luigi, housekeeping, & transport service.

Only con, is it was a bit noisy near the stairs.

You also hear a lot of the noise from the cars on the street.

however, this was not an issue for us as the sound really died down by about 11pm each night.

The only real negative is that our room was located on the fourth floor right underneath the restaurant, and the sound of setting up for breakfast was quite loud in our room and would wake us up every morning.

On our check out our car was brought to us with our bags carried to the car and they assisted us getting out our space in the traffic.

The superior rooms with large sea view balconies are on lower floors are very noisy because of the road.

Only downside was occasionally a noisy neighbour/kids . .

although we could hear our neighbours talking.

but the walls and ceilings are paper-thin, so you can hear everything from all your neighbor (sleeping in is therefore not an option).

I don’t think I would stay here again for one reason-that being the amount of noise you hear from your room.

Rooms had a little street noise and smaller bed (we're both very tall),

I mean eg. comments about the noise from the road ( the windows are absolutely sound proof when closed ) or that somebody locked himself out on the balcony, because of the funny functioning of the door lock (completely impossible now with the balcony door closing system present.)

but not too close to hear all the noise and tourist.

However, this hotel is on an extremely busy road and the rooms are noisy from the traffic all night long.

Minor annoyance is traffic on main road running right in front of hotel.

However, there are of course lots of steps, narrow paths (or none at all), and plenty of traffic to negotiate.

As the hotel is on the main road there is traffic daily noise at the front of the hotel.

In couple of hours we noticed a lot of noise coming from the elevator as we were given a room next to the elevator.

The only negative is it's located on the main road so there was some noise that you could heard from the traffic

This hotel is located on a very busy road and you can hear all the traffic with the doors closed at night while trying to sleep.

Others have mentioned the road noise, and yes, the hotel is on quite a busy road

Only negative is it is on the main road so during the day you hear a lot of traffic.

Right on the road so some noise -- AND it's 9 stories down to the beach.

The only potential drawback is street noise if there are light sleepers in your group.

The only down side was that the hotel is on the main road and the traffic noise on the patio was a bit more than I could stand (we were on the first floor).

I know other people have mentioned the road noise,

but the family room is on the first floor, so you are directly over the street traffic and "only" have a view of the sea.

If you closed the balcony doors I didn't notice street noise.

The only problem that I had was there was a great deal of road noise and I'm a light sleeper.

I had read reviews that mentioned street noise and the hard mattresses - neither one of us noticed this at all.

The only negative thing we experienced during our visit was the traffic from the road just outside the hotel.

I was first disappointed that we had a room so close to the road and we did hear cars if we had the balcony doors open.

The ONLY con is the street noise which did wake us up a few times and I suppose the bed could have been a bit less firm.

We drove to the hotel, and at least in April, the road and traffic conditions were fine.

We also loved eating at the restaurant, Terraza Cele, and the buffet breakfast as well.

The breakfast is included and it was delicious.

Beautiful pool and sun deck, excellent breakfasts with that amazing view.

The room was wonderful, the view from our balcony (where we had breakfast every day) was sensational, and the service was great - Paolo is a legend!

Cirro did a great job at breakfast, insuring our complete satisfaction.

Breakfast is included in your stay and is nothing short of magnificent in view and in food/beverage offering ( cheeky mimosa to start your day).

Paolo went above and beyond, even gifting us a beautiful print of Positano before we left as a keepsake that we will always cherish, and Dario helped us every time we needed anything, and threw in extra nice touches such as breakfast and champagne delivered right to our room.

Great buffet breakfast, beautiful hotel, views are epic, great location, and very warm staff.

From the location, the gorgeous view from many vantage points, the delicious cuisine , the access to the private beach club, and MOST importantly the hospitable and welcoming staff we plan on coming back another season!

all the staff was amazing as was the service and the hotel restaurant food was 5 star as was the breakfast.

While there, take advantage of their onsite restaurant, and indulge in the complimentary breakfast offered every morning.

Breakfast is included with a large variety.

The hotel itself is quite outdated and the Wi-Fi barely worked.

In addition, the room isn’t close enough to the main building for WiFi access, the make up mirror fell off the wall when we arrived, the lights continually flickered on and off, and the shower seal was ineffective and left water all over the floor.

That being said, the wifi and TV in our room didn't work.

One downside, if you are depending on internet, their internet connection is shoddy at best.

One unfortunate feature was the WiFi router.

The ONLY negative about this hotel is that the wifi was really not good.

Would go to the same hotell again if visiting the Amalfi Coast. - The wifi was instable and slow (which was not too improtant to us though)

The main problem was the Internet, as it has been already mentioned by other treveleers, the speed is slow, very very slow.

The reason we have given this hotel a 4 star as opposed to a 5 star rating is because the WiFi was pretty unreliable and we had some difficulties with hot water in the shower (other people were complaining of similar problems). However, Gianni (spelling?!)

Only 2 issues:  only ONE tiny drawer and minimal closet space (as there were 2 large blankets in there) for a superior double room, and wifi that is barely there (emails will work, uploading a picture is a challenge and only works if you stand right next to router and if you are lucky)!!

The next biggest problem is the Wifi or lack there of.

You have to walk the mandatory 100 steps to your room and there are no bathroom slippers in the room or heating (so chill out )or WIFI.

On the downside, Wifi was not working in our suite.

Wifi is terrible, the lower the room level is.

Despite a strong signal the internet is agonizingly slow.

The only problems was WiFi not great and the stairs down to the beach.

We dined at several Amalfi Coast restaurants, and had 4 breakfasts and 2 dinners here, and all were just excellent.

On the flip side, a meal we had downstairs for lunch was delicious.

but one of our breakfasts here each morning and it was fantastic - it was hard to actually want to do any thing else.

Since I have a dairy sensitivity, and eat mostly vegan and have a nut allergy, I found breakfast options quite limiting.

The included buffet breakfast was very good and a great way to start the day on the terrace.

Lovely staff, very attentive and welcoming all the way from check in to breakfast to check out… and we had a fabulous meal at their famous hotel restaurant!

Breakfast was delicious and the service excellent.

The staff was wonderful, I especially wanted to say thank you to Mariachiara, Salvatore and Catello (helped with breakfast); they all had exceptional customer service!

The location is perfect, the staff is more than accommodating, the breakfast and the food are so yummy, and our room is perfect!

The Great- our room was clean, amazing ocean view, great breakfast also overlooking the ocean, the staff.

Bucca di Bacco has the most amazing breakfast compared to others we stayed at, giving you the flavors of pure Positano since they have their own restaurant and bakery so you get the fresh and best of Positano and Italian delicacies.

Breakfast has everything you'd like and more including fresh orange juice and quality products.

The breakfast buffet was wonderful and seating at the patio was 100% gorgeous.

Breakfast spread was excellent and views from our table were beautiful.

The staff I dealt with were amazing, friendly, and efficient- Mario, Andrea, Fernanda, thank you for your warm greeting and assistance throughout our stay. The breakfast buffet is divine and the cappuccinos are delectable ( mille cappuccino, per favore Catello (LOL!)

The breakfast buffet was lovely with a variety of pastries, meats, cheeses, delicious fruit and some hot food which we enjoyed on the lovely restaurant balcony.

I told him that I did pay and if he needs to see the receipt I would show it on my way out in the morning (the front desk is two elevator rides away).

The hotel provides beach towels if need and you only need to take the elevator down to the beach, breakfast buffet has all you wish for, so you hardly need to plan for lunch anymore.

Depending on which room you have, you may have to do like us and take 2 separate elevators along with a labyrinth of hallways.

but a good location down the hall from loud elevators.

To get to our room from the lobby was a short walk to a lift that went up two levels, then in to another lift and up another 2 levels and along a long corridor.

though the entrance is on ground level, these rooms are in the 2 adjacent buildings that are much higher, needing 2 elevators to get to.

Our room was accessed by 2 elevator rides,

We were shown to our room up a series of corridors and two lifts and when we got to our room we said WOW.

In the hallway to our first elevator (there were two because we were in the awesome upper tier)  was a letter from John Steinbeck to the Hotel Buca di Bacco just after he won the 1962 Nobel Prize for literature:
<i>I wish I were sitting in front of the Buca at this moment.

and to get up to our room with quite a hike if you dont use the elevator which we did not.

I should have known walking in as there was an overwhelming smell of "Glade" room freshener that was clearly covering up the scent of sewage in the main hallway leading to the elevator.

This meant that there was no way to walk through the hotel without using a series of elevators, stairs and corridors.

The only negative aspect about the hotel is the two elevators you have to take to your room since the buildings are separated from one another along the cliff of the city.

We took an elevator in the main hotel to an upper floor and transferred to another elevator to get to our room.

Took two elevator rides to get to the room, a little lengthy process several times daily

We stayed here on the final leg of an Italian holiday, The hotel is good, some frustrations with the lift situation, (they don't have enough) The breakfast service makes Fawlty Towers look efficient

Because of the hill and the hotel configuration, we had to take two elevators to get to our room, which was a little annoying,

though the hotels corridors, to our room (which was placed on the top floor), was a good experience, in it self, due to small details (paintings, the mosaic on the elevator floor, etc.).

The lifts were small for the amount of traffic that used them.

Buca Di Bacco does not have a pool, spa, or exercise room while others nearby of the same caliber do.

I do wish there was a pool because to access the beach and get a chair you have to pay for it, Its not part of the hotel which looks deceiving in pictures.

There is no pool which is why we  moved hotel 

Only other thing to think about is there is no pool

If this hotel had a few additional amenities such as a pool it would beat le Sireneuse.

My family and I arrived expecting accurate information on ferry tickets, pool towels, airport transfers and even not advising you that tour guides and laundry charges will need to be paid in cash on check out.

When booking this hotel, one should also be aware that there is no pool at this property.

- And another thing is that it dosent have a pool.

It could only have been made better if there was a pool as the beach arrangements were not great (this had nothing to do with the hotel).

although the one "fault" was that it did not have a swimming pool so that may sway some guests towards an alternate property.

Though not a downside at all, just so that people know, there is no gym or pool here.

The only downside to this hotel is that they don't have a pool.

It was my wife birthday and they had cake and flowers and champions ready in the morning for breakfast .

Rooms: The Suite we booked (I believe it was the smallest) had ample space for the entire family of 5
Pool area: While we spent most of the time outside the hotel, the pool area right next to the Church was beautiful

Breakfast is served from 8-10:30 in the courtyard making for a relaxed morning.

The overall ambiance, delicious food, location in the heart of Positano, and world class service exceeded our high expectations.

The breakfast buffet was also amazing with a wide variety of food choices

The hotel is very clean with magnificent garden and lovely swimming pool area.. breakfast is so tasty… then you have the best welcoming staff from the concierge guys to the reception, housekeepers and restaurants stuff.. plus they assist us with all the réservations we wanted.. thank you all for the wonderful time.

The breakfast was good and again staff very attentive and kind.

We also would like to give credit to the breakfast manager.

The breakfast buffet was scrumptious and the hotel staff so attentive.

Our dinner was delicious - the best meal we had during our 10 days in Italy!

The food was excellent, especially the daily breakfast spread and I recommend booking a dinner reservation at the restaurant during your stay, you won't regret it.

We also ordered the scallop appetizer which they split for us, very delicious.

We enjoyed our breakfast and dinner there.

The courtyard setting for breakfast (lovely included breakfast buffet everyday) and all day cocktails was so calming and relaxing.

The restaurant is among the best in town (we had veal carpaccio and some wildly delicious mushroom ravioli).

The courtyard where breakfast is held and the all day bar is the real gem for me.

but slowly, and we had to sign in every time we came back into the room with our devices.

One other note is that the wifi was completely unreliable.

I had to work a little during my stay and the internet connection was a little unstable

We did find Wi-Fi in the hotel a little hit and miss

The wifi is awful like the rest of Italy.

One small tip for tech-oriented travelers - wifi was acceptable

As with many places in Italy, wifi isn't good so don't plan to do work there, and that's no bad thing!

The only weakness was the strength of the wifi.

There was an electric safe (no pin code, needed to use a credit card), working desk, small television and fridge.

- Wifi has a simple password so you can bring your Apple TV or Chromecast
- 500+ TV channels, but only a handful of English channels, all news related

We were given room 41 - so far away from anything else in the hotel that the wi-fi wouldn't reach.

Wifi is slow, and despite being somewhat "remote," in 2014 hotels need to have fast wifi.

Other clients seem to have similar problems, witness the number of people huddled in one of the reception rooms to catch a better wifi signal.

however was lack of wifi in the room despite it being advertised.

Some drawbacks are very poor internet (none to speak of in the room), and barebones breakfast.

The one issue which the hotel itself is aware and apologetic of is the poor wifi accessibility.

If there was one (and only one) minor quibble, as already mentioned by others the wifi is patchy,

Cons: Air-conditioning did not work well, lowest temperature reached our room was 23 C. Internet connection was patchy (our room was at the end of the hall)

The breakfast is amazing and has so much selection and the cocktail bar has every type of cocktail possible!

The food is delicious and the service is impeccable.

The views were beautiful when dining outdoors for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The included breakfast is very good and a great way to start the day.

Breakfasts are a treat,  all varieties of food, yogurt, good scrambled eggs, bread, croissants, pastries, cheese, juice, coffee (cappuccino! espresso!

Food was delicious (would recommend booking a table at Il Tridente).

The breakfast buffet was more than adequate for every taste with eggs and omelettes etc cooked to order in front of you.

We enjoyed the terrace breakfasts each day, sunset cocktails by the pool, dinner at El Tridente.

The staff were all excellent providing whatever service required. The Tridente offered an excellent selection of breakfast and dinner (the pasta with lemon sauce!!!)

Breakfasts were most accommodating with anything you would desire offered in the dining room overlooking the town.

The patio for breakfast is amazing as is the food.

Breakfast was very good and had an omelet chef!

From complimentary prosecco to help us celebrate our engagement to drinks by the fireplace with live music to amazing breakfasts daily, this place has it all.

The breakfast buffet  was delicious and their Staff was amazing from check in to check out.

Gorgeous breakfast, also served on a sunny terrace.
