Breakfast was  Ok -however the  breakfast staff were surly which I found unwelcoming.

but okay AC and the reasonably good breakfast.

We stayed here 12 th Sept for 5 nights, with breakfast and a balcony.

Since we started to visit here now the breakfast is extra cost, this is ok

Breakfast was lovely with a choice of bacon scrambled eggs fruit yoghurts lovely choice of bread and a good selection of cold meats and cheeses.

Breakfast was lovely and great choice from scrambled egg, Spanish sausage to fruit cereal and meat and cheese selection.

The food in the hotel was lovely, plenty of choice for breakfast and we also ate in the hotel at night too on  occasion.

Staff at checkout and throughout the stay were friendly and efficient, breakfast was tasty and plentiful with a good selection and the location is ideal for exploring Palma.

To try and make it look chic the corridors are black with automatic lights when you step out of the lift, If you've ever visited York Dungeons it's like that, without the doors rattling

but if you are waiting for someone to get out the lift then try to get in, if the doors start closing they will keep going no matter if you are in the door.

The lift is dodgy which try's to trap you while it closes there is a notice warning of this!!!.

Just to note there is only one lift so there can be a wait especially at busy times.

Requested low floor as read previously long wait with the lift (9 floors one lift).

Out of the lift into a pitch black corridor where the lights took a few seconds to register us and turn on.

but there is only one lift and you can be waiting a long time for it at busy periods.

Only one lift so we walked down from the fifth floor and used the lift up.

but there is only one passenger lift, so it took three attempts to get down to breakfast one morning.

but the one big downside was the fact that the for a hotel with 8 floors there was only one lift a bit of a nuisance for a mobility scooter user.

Just one lift, we had to wait some time to come to our room.

Bearing in mind that you can only access it using the usual lift and stairs, I felt very self conscious.

Only slight quibbles were the one lift and very busy breakfast room which we knew about beforehand ,

The single elevator is inadequate and the stairway is all painted in black with poor lighting.

This hotel is in a perfect location in centre of Palma really modern hotel full of amazing art; the WiFi is terrible so slow and pretty useless very frustrating,  really great breakfast; only one lift for 9 floors so on many occasions had to walk up or down

The elevator was also very small and it can be a long wait when a big group arrives.

The lift is too small for size if the place and breakfast was chaotic.

Elevator is slow and room 102 very noisy directly overlooking busy street.

A single small lift was often inconvenient causing longer waits than you would expect.

Bathroom a little tired and dated, corner room had plenty of space,  was lovely and cool, mid corridor room was quite small with very noisy air conditioning.

When it hadn’t been done by 4pm and all cleaning trolleys had been removed from the corridor I had to go and ask for clean towels.

All walls, carpets and doors in the corridors are black.

One side of corridor rooms have a balcony over the road the other side have no balcony

although the black painted corridors and carpet need brightened up.

The outside corridors were black and gloomy with the carpet looking dirty in need of replacement.

but a bit repetitive- though again, for a couple of nights stay, it did the job, not sure we’d have fancied it every morning longer term
The decor in the public areas and corridors others have stated, is a bit unusual, not really to my taste, but I didn’t see that as important.

As someone else has mentioned, the corridors are very dark, floor to ceiling black with some rather unusual pictures dotted about.

Lovely lounge area, bar and restaurant - the decor in the corridors is a bit dark - almost ‘nightclubby’ (reminds me of the Quay club in Newcastle circa 1993, as all the communal walls are a black slate/tile effect 😂) -

Dark corridors and basic rooms and didn't feel private staying with my friend due to set up of bathroom.

Impressive decoration if you like modern art if you are more classical, you may find the corridors all black a bit oppressing :) Actually it's a pity that we can't learn more at the reception about the artists exposing there.

but can make the corridors a little gloomy.

Corridors are depressingly dark and don't make for a welcoming feel.

Only comment would be that I would suggest additional lighting in the corridors of the hotel.

but mostly scary, considering the odd pictures on the walls and the unnerving metal statues which suddenly appeared when the lights went on upon entering the hallway.

The only negative is that the hotel is very dark, the walls in the corridor are painted black which makes it feel like night even in the middle of the day.

Have stayed before, as Melias go probably the best in Palma, quick check in, friendly helpful staff, great views and good quality breakfast and drinks.

Breakfast and room very good on the whole would return.

The level is a great facility, we enjoyed having breakfast on the terrace and having a drink with friends before we headed out to dinner.

The breakfast area was another level - beautifully presented and had literally everything.

Breakfast was again nothing special - seems they went for the quantity over quality approach.

Great quality produce, fresh and beautifully presented, I only wish I had a bigger appetite at breakfast so I could have tried more!

The breakfast, the afternoon snacks, and the beverages available, more than offset the additional cost of the room.

Having very large groups causes a strain on resources at the pool and at breakfast.

This is a lovely hotel with a cool spacious lobby and a welcoming check in process at the Red Level which offers breakfast, all day snacks and evening canapés and drinks.

but going on the breakfast selection I am sure it will be excellent.

We could also eat breakfast here each day food was wonderful and fresh and staff were constantly cleaning and replenishing!

I duly accept that this is not the fault of the hotel, I accept that the hotel has no control of when, how, or if any disturbance or disputation would occur.

The dirt and noise from the ongoing roadworks was a little off-putting (could have done with shoe cleaning service to compensate)

This was a shame as it was very loud when laying by the pool!

We were on a high floor and therefore did not suffer from the noise of the roadworks that others have talked about.

but we hardly noticed the noise from the works.

Could occasionally hear the construction early mornings too.

Road works weren’t an issue for us in regards to noise, we arrived the Thursday and left on Monday, there was no work going on then.

however, the right-hand side view was just a building site, which like a previous review, commenced at 7.30 a.m. in the morning, thus you have to get up or suffer the noise.

The rooms are extremely noisy - so much so this ruined my sleep on multiple nights.

That said, ongoing building work at the front of the hotel is noisy and ruins the view, the pool is very busy (no loungers or space on the day we arrived) and service was variable.

We could hear people as late as 4 am making all sorts of noise from the street below hence we did not get a proper night's sleep throughout our stay.

There was quite noisey periods at times and a bit of dust flying about in the air

however, this was not disturbing in any way during our stay.

but it does spoil the view somewhat and we were also not able to sit in the outdoor section of the Level lounge at lunchtime due to the noise from the constructions workers.

It was impossible to sit in the outdoor area of the Level with roadworks noise and dust!

There was no noise from the roadworks as we were there during Easter break so I don’t know how noisy a normal working day would be.

Unfortunately I had a super bad experience despite this: the airco in my room didn't work so the choice was between gasping for air and leaving the window open with all the noise coming from outside (my room was on the seaside).

Such a lovely hotel, very efficient and friendly staff,areas bright and clean, breakfast great and varied, fab view from our balcony.

Breakfast was included and was probably one of the best breakfasts we had during our three week trip to Europe.

but this is happening all along the front of all the hotels opposite the harbour so yes there is noise but nothing that worried us, the breakfast was enough to set us up for the morning and something for everybody and staff were excellent so all in all had a wonderful time in Palma.

but our group was put in the far right hand corner of the restaurant and given a meagre buffet choice of food.

We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and the breakfast was good with plenty of choice.

The room is adequate (although the bed was bit uncomfortable) and the pool area and breakfast ae decent.

balcony doors need better soundproofing as the noise from the road is substantial during the night.

It wasn’t possible to relax by the pool as all you could hear was the sound of diggers and pneumatic drills, not exactly the relaxing experience I was hoping for.

I didn't like the fact that the traffic noise came heavily through at night time.

but still managed to sleep pretty well despite the noise from the road behind the hotel.

but we were kept awake  all night with traffic noise , scooters etc poor sound insulation , the beds were hard &  no tea or coffee in the room which we weren’t expecting.

If it had a balcony, that may have given some protection from the noise right outside the window each night.

We paid for a room with a sea view and a balcony which due to the excessive loud noise we are unable to use.

The traffic on the main road outside the hotel was a little noisy at times.

Rooms' doors are very thin and can hear through them other people talking and TV noises coming from other rooms.

I happily moved only to find that the room next door was under maintenance and woke up at 930 to the wonderful sounds of drilling in the wall next door.

The beds here are solid and you won't get much sleep as the windows let all the sounds from outside in, right next to a busy harbour and a main road.

The reality is If you want a quiet get away this hotel is not great as the road noise and music from the surrounding area does not make it easy to sleep.

From people congregating on the steps to drink and talk, to the police clearing them away, to the staff having a smoke and a chat outside the staff entrance located right beside the window- we didn't sleep a wink on Friday night.

Also the water drainage in the shower/bath was bad and we could smell the stench through the closed door.

but the hotel is dated, rooms have a weird smell…mould or stale food..not very pleasant.

It's like this place had been left in the early nineties, old furnishings and a vile smell in the room.

Once I opened the door  of my room I was shocked at the smell of cigarette smoke, which you could still see in the room, someone had obviously been smoking that afternoon.

At times there was a strong vile sewage smell in the bathroom from the toilet.

Firstly, the whole hotel stinks of sewage- especially the bathrooms in the rooms.

At first we got a room smelling cigarette and crew lady deny the smell !!!

It was smelly, lots of noice from outside (with closed windows) and electricity problems: no working television, only one socket worked, blow dryer didn't work.

Main problem was that our room had some minor floor defects and at least six times we had tobacco smoke fumes coming into the room either through the air conditioning or possibly from the next door room through the bathrooms.

The salmon I got I could not eat as the smell was so bad.

but we would never stay again because of the smell.

There was a sewage smell all the time which was particularly bad the night we had gale force winds.

Spoke to reception about a strange chemical smell in my room which I was concerned could be some form of leak as above my bathroom which I could see through the ceiling slats were several large pipes and a generator.

And I have been in 3 different rooms and all of them smell not so good.

We did pick up a slight smell of smoke in the air.

We had breakfast on the terrace which was perfect lots of food to choose from and a lovely view.

On a positive note, the terrace area is lovely with delightful views, the bedroom was spacious and the breakfast was excellent.

How can such a 5 star hotel warrant such an extortionate cost?

although 4 euros is too much to have to pay for a can of water!

If you don’t fancy walking it’s only a short taxi ride into old town costing about 7 euros.

but paid extra 150 euros night - take it or leave it at check-in & a case of upselling!

The only tweaks I would make were that anyone who paid for red level should have either free mini bar or ability to take drinks from the Red Level lounge down to the poolside, or free poolside drinks.

but overpriced for what you get, and should be reclassified as a four star.

The 2-star score reflects a significant shortfall in the value-for-money offered - this was not cheap.

The price to upgrade the room was 253 per person which was ridiculous.

..it is after all why we pay for that privledge. .

If I had one complaint it is the extortionate cost of drinks (4.5 Euro for a small can of water, 6 Euro for a soft drink) which soon adds up.

The main problem with the hotel was the price of drinks around the pool.

The drinks at the pool area were overpriced though.

however at the price I paid I would expect dressing gowns and slippers in the room !

I noted people popping to the cafe next door for drinks and ice creams as there was nothing to be had except overpriced beverages.

Taxis are easily obtainable and are not particularly expensive,

It is extraordinary to be given a room without a balcony and facing the rear of the hotel, this meant being awoken at night by incoming delivery trucks reversing with the resulting noise being really loud.

There was tons of construction which they did not make us aware of and it ruined any type of peace and quiet during our stay.

Unfortunately there was a lot of building work going on at the hotel next door so it was too noisy to sit outside in the afternoon.

I don’t understand the moaners who feel that the building works spoilt their stay, our room was adjacent to the works and the noise was minimal.

but our experience was disappointing due to the noisy building work.

Only two very minor issues - found having to use panel to turn lights on/off and open/close curtains, etc a bit complicated and the roadworks taking place outside hotel were quite noisy at times during our stay (appreciate not the hotel’s fault).

Also, there is a LOT of traffic, wich is not anything the hotel can do anything about,

We all came home tired as the area was very noisey including loud dance music being played at 5am, not the hotels fault

Someone - perhaps the lifeguard - failed to keep some over-excited guests in check, allowing them to loudly takeover the entire area, taking glasses into the pool, and throwing their fully clothed friends in too.

Ear plugs needed at night for the road noise.

In the morning at 7am unfortunately we were woken every morning by the scraping of chairs, tables and benches on the terrace upstairs as they set up for breakfast.

Noise at weekends from the nightclub next door, very annoying.

We chose a room without a view of the sea and heard a lot of street noise.

but kind of noisy as there was a wedding that night.

We have no noise problem from road or night clubs

although next to the lift shaft which was noisy although not too busy as I don’t think the hotel was at capacity.

The pool area is quite jaded in places and the 6 lane road in front means constant road noise.
