Building work throughout in open areas and some rooms had showers over baths that you could not stand up in.

Often had to ask for water, towels , even toilet paper!

Our room stopped working and they managed to sort out.Then fast forward 27th July 2023 a different manager on duty and the A/C stopped working so they changed our room.So we moved room and my kids went to enjoy the pool ,Upon returning they had a bath and while with there mum in the shower the water stopped this was around 6pm.

We did not like that on the way to our hotel room the vents from the kitchen produced a very nauseating smell and bathroom due to having no shower door got really messy very quickly.

I would have thought the rooms would have 2 toilets

Other thing is that the hotel is so tired looking the pool is missing all the grout from each of the 3 pools fairly dangerous for children.

One other thing - our bathroom had no shower curtain and it was necessary to clamber over the high bathtub rim to take a shower.

Cons: the bathroom and bedroom was divided by glass - mostly frosted,

As a few other people have mentioned maintenance does leave a bit to be desired and the tiles in the pools are jagged in some places where the grout has come away.

- there is a window between bathroom and living area and if the lights are on in the bathroom a person sitting on the bed can easily see what is going on in the bathroom and lavatory (!).

The room was good (albeit there was a see through window from the bed where guests in the bathroom/on the toilet could be seen) housekeeping hit and miss.

Aircon was a bit noisy and you had to keep this on at all times and do not open the balcony doors, otherwise your room

but they said thats becouse we left the slidind door open but that wasn't the case, the plunge pool is bad,the tiles are sharp (missing grout) and not level so be careful. Rooms?

The suite has a balcony with garden view unfortunately the entrance door is overlooking a building field

No door at the shower area so water are prone to seep out to the bathroom.

The doors didn’t close properly so the sound was ridiculous.

A separate shower with a glass door should be installed so that the whole toilet won't be wet after showers.

We checked out today after staying in a superior room with my partner and son and my parents were next door.

but a lot of noise could be heard from the person next door so we asked to be moved.

I then decided to walk towards the service room and knocked on to the door and asked if anyone could help and the waitress named "MINT" came out frustrated and started to vent her frustration, she just asked us to wait outside showing her terrible attitude.

The bathroom smelt, the closet door light was broken and didn't turn off so light was in the room at night, the door card system worked only when you banged the sensor several times, the shower had leaking water spouts in between the tiles, the shower flooded each time as the drain blocked, the bathroom flooded as the shower is open and the lip Is not high enough to hold the water in.

Constant noise esp from bin carts which sets the stray dogs off howling even through patio doors and the wearing earplugs throughout our stay!

My only suggestion would be to have a sign on the gym door indicating a minimum age.

Also, there is no lip on the sliding door so any splash can end up inside your room.

The only downfall I would say was the mozzies as we were on the ground floor and everytime we opended the door they would come in,

but it was very average, no privacy from other guests when you walked out your back door as it was open all along the section of accommodation wing.

Problems with the room door - The cards to the door faulted and wouldn’t let us in 4-5 times.

If there is one thing left to fix, it's the bathtub- it needs a shower door or curtain ;) 
To all the staff who served us, you made it feel like home with genuine smiles and kindness.

We had very good memories in this beautiful hotel where we stayed for 8 days :)
The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean, the breakfast buffet is rich.

The cleaners were great too, room was spotless every day

We had half board, food was lovely great variety and very quiet, you can either get the themed buffet which was different every night and always great or they have a lovely Thai restaurant on site which was delicious.

We stayed here for 8 nights, very clean rooms and hotel in general, food very good, didn't do theme food nights,

Overall sleep is fine and comfortable and rooms are clean.

If you are Eco Conscious, they offer a 200 Baht voucher if you opt to skip your room clean for the day and re-use your towels, a great innovative which ended up equating to a free nights stay!

The room was clean and tidy and was very spacious, pleased with this.

The rooms are impeccable and complimentary mineral water offered throughout th day which is very convenient.

We stayed as a couple and had a lovely couples massage, made cheaper by vouchers we got over our stay for not having our room clean, which is such a cool option!

DONT USE THE POOL- the plunge pool that came with the room was very disgusting, we used it once and never again

Also, there was sewer smell in the rooms.

The pool's are in dire straits with filthy water quality.

The rooms are nice (although sometimes there was a bad smell coming from the pipe).

The Novotel in Karon Beach is disgusting.

Bed is not very comfortable and so does the pillows (it kind of smells).

with alot of the grouting missing and rotting..we all ended up with cuts on our toes and feet from catching them on the edge of sharp tiles where grouting was missing.

But the smell got increasingly worse, and we asked to be moved, which the staff did apologetically and efficiently, and we went to room 4311 which was infinitely better.

The dinning area was overcrowded, poorly ventilated and almost non-conditioned, so one can imagine the smell  and noises around.

I did 30 mins of the coconut scrub which smelt heavenly, 60 mins of the aroma body massage and then a 30 min Indian head oil massage.

The room was not clean and was really bad smell.

Did stink a bit for our entire stay (common place in Asia).

They are all in the same state of many missing/broken tiles, missing grout, sharp edges, one day the kids came out of the kids pool with a green slime or mold on their swimmers.

The weather played one of those nasty tricks on us on day 2 and 3, so we could not really do much as all travels to the neighbouring islands was cancelled due to an approaching Tropical storm.

The smell of pizza was amazing, we just had to order it.

Then you must cross a couple of drainage channels before coming out to a high wall above the beach. Food.

Leaving resort for evening meals going into town centre about a 10 minute hazardous walk amongst the traffic with horrendous fumes from vehicles which made for a poor experience "Not the hotels fault"
However if there was better entertainment in resort we would have dined in & draught beer rather than bottled would be a great improvement.

The rooms are dark, lights not working, older looking bathroom, tv reception so poor couldn't watch half the time.

The bed was hard as a rock, as were the pillows making the sleep quality very poor.

in fairness though, we ate at the hotel on our first night and it was the best food we had during our stay, even if a lot more expensive (still cheap by western standards).

However, the breakfast is very poor if you're expecting something even basically westernized.

The wifi is shockingly poor so this is certainly a place to disconnect from western life.

but poor reception on mobile phones during peak times.

Sadly we didn't read the negative reviews until we left, which all seem to rate terrible or poor because of this man.

Service in the resort was poor apart from the really helpful girls at reception.

The staff were friendly and helpful apart from the initial problem with the unused night and lack of response to my email, which is why I have given the service a poor rating and has nothing at all to do with the general staff who were great .

We thought that was very poor customer relations.

Breakfast was very poor and the overall look of the hotel was not good.

I hope you have great difficulty in the future selling your resort packages to poor unsuspecting customers - because you certainly don't come up to expectations according to your website or brochure and you have obviously falsely advertised with your suppliers.

but that is just the poor plumbing of the country.

Our room was cleaned to a high standard daily and tea and coffee replenished along with smaller complimentary bottles of water.

The hotel is very clean and our room was cleaned everyday to a really good standard.

All the staff were very friendly & helpful from the moment we arrived here in this hotel excellent service.The room was clean quite basic,but the patio area onto the swim up pool made up for this.we were with a large group of friends all situated next door & very near to one another great for us as a large group socialising before going out of an evening.The food was good for breakfast not a vast choice

There were some leaky pipes behind the toilet in the bathroom, so the tiles were always a little wet, it didn’t bother us too much.

Please don't worry about tiles missing from the pool area, the pool is so large it doesn't matter.

yes the pool has a few tiles missing underwater and the water stings a bit

but it did need the tiles sticking back on and some general maintenance work.

Some areas have tiles missing and green mould on statues near pool.

The tiles in the pool bars was almost gone and some stuff were broken.

but this information was not conveyed to the receptionist and I was charged 100,000 baht when I checked out despite restaurant reservation desk took a note of that.

Unfortunately, a broken edge of glass table issue arose, leading to a $130 charge.

It’s 2023, is there not a better system than a piece of card?

I reviewed my card statements and the payments (both) went through, which meant i was double charged.

Bolt accepts cards so we didn’t have the hassle of paying cash.

Phuket taxis charge a minimum 200 thb to go anywhere (seems to be an agreement between them all) and really adds up,

but the only thing was that hotel charges us 90 THB for Soda from Mini-Bar which we never used or had.

They don't give out towel cards like they used to, so you just grab what you need.

Eventually it was delivered after another 40 minutes; the positive thing was that we were told it will be free of charge due to the delay.

Pls bring universal power adapters/USB for charging devices.

However considering its location which is a bit away from night mkt area, for a 5* hotel I would expect the hotel to have a free shuttle (once a day would suffice) to Patong especially when there is nothing around to do so I am quite disappointed that for this level of hotel (min 250eur per night) that they miss out on this point and prefer to over charge their shuttle service (4x day) at 180 bath one way per person which is quite expensive.

I called front desk to listen to the noise, she said she would inform manager in charge immediately.

He, along with the rest of the staff here are a credit to the resort and we contacted the resort direct to tell them this and to pass on our comment.

But weird thing is that they charge for the tennis court per person.

They wanted to charge 5 nights upfront for my booking, then made me go through hell canceling a booking then while two kids were crying.

To keep this property under the Marriott portfolio is an offense to the Bonvoy card holders .

Taxi: 
They have a hotel taxi where you can charge to your room or if you are able to get a local taxi or VIP Taxi (often cheaper than the hotel taxis) they will often give you their contact info and you can call them and schedule rides on your own instead of using the hotel based cars.

The website had said that we would have a 1000 baht credit to spend,

They tried to charge us for items in the room and mini bar that were not there in the first place, and she argued with me that I was wrong.

The hotel's handling of this matter during our departure, while we were rushing for the airport, left an unpleasant impact on our overall experience. Additionally, inquiring about extending one room for an extra four hours on the last day proved challenging, as the hotel provided inconsistent and seemingly arbitrary price quotes, creating confusion."

For example: you can scan (most people in Thailand use their phones as an account management tool) to pay a bill,

Cost of a taxi from here to Krabi was quoted at 5000 THB!

Just be ready to pay top dollar for food.

The transport company that the hotel uses charges the same rates as the private taxis and tuk tuks.

however, the manager was really rude in the restaurant (never seen that before in any Marriott envoy hotels and not that we did not pay for our breakfast during the stay including children).

Transport in Phuket is expensive, so it can cost a lot of money just to go out and eat.

He made us pay 90 THB despite our insistence.

but I think this place is too overvalued for the price.

You can find better rates in Patong than the hotel.

Negatives - The Building smells from water damage (smells wet), no 24 hour room service, buffet breakfast was average in comparison to other Marriott Bon Voy hotels, we paid a lot of money for a suite and the fabrics on the couches are dirty, beds are quite hard.

Because my sun sleeped on the couch with linnen they said I have to pay a much higher amount.

but when the manager got involved he decided to rip us off by saying that the rate had suddenly changed.

This hotel is not five star at all 

It’s run down and restaurants are very overpriced

There are many better options in Phuket

We spent 8 days and we’re told there were 8 restaurants

As we had wrongly booked a two single bed instead of king bed room, we asked the hotel if they had a king size bed where we could change to, and were willing to pay for it.

The rooms were clean and very well maintained.

I love the beach, pool..rooms were really clean and spacious.

Well situated,  amazing beachfront, excellent services, clean rooms, delicious food.

Very courteous and friendly staffs, location of hotel on one of the best beaches of Phuket, fantastic dining options, cost friendly menu (when you compare with a luxury hotel rates), great hospitality, spacious and clean rooms, comfortable bed, great and clean washrooms, lavish minibar, great in-room dining choices, prompt service this hotel ticks all the necessary and luxury things that you look for!!!

The rooms are clean and well maintained, the entire property is huge, with multiple restaurants, shops, beach facing with multiple swimming pools and access to the entire beach (it is the only property in the bay).

The room is very clean , the housekeeping was the fastest with great perfection I was really surprised how fast and how clean they are , food is amazing and breakfast is wonderful , swimming pool is amazing and beach is perfect.

The rooms are very clean with enough and suitable amenities.

The only semi negative comment is that the rooms need updating,

Resort is seriously outdated, even the few renovated rooms they have are very underwhelming.

Some of the rooms could need a bit of renovation work

However the sun loungers and cushions on the beach do need updating.

This hotel is really outdated, very poorly maintained and literally everything is mouldy and smells of it (even outside!)

I can not rated as 5 stars hotel .. basically it is 4 stars .. need a real renovation, we booked the pool villa , 3 floors villa be carful if you have a problem with walking because not elevators in the villa .. all dark wood furniture cause a bad smell when the temperature of room goes high.

The hotel has not been renovated for 35 years.

Before coming here we heard that the pool was going to be at for renovations,but luckily it was open during our stay!.

From the looks of it, Dusit had been renovated roughly 20 years ago for the last time….

Apparently the hotel rooms have been renovated and are new which is a pity as the villas are not.

The villas desperately need to be renovated and re-wired.

Everything is old and worn down - it needs a major overhaul to maintain the 5*.

The hotel has been updated and modernised sympathetically and this has not been done to the detriment of the essential character of the hotel.

but rather because it was partially closed for renovations.

The resort is a bit antique and need some renovation

Lastly, regarding the membership policy, I feel so disappointed about its conditions and standards for assessing the eligibility of different member types.

Breakfast isn't great, service from staff wasn't the best and the hotel wasn't in the best condition.

The pool area needs an update; for this category hotel it was bit too run down looking.
