Bangla road is just 4-5 minutes away with a tuk tuk ride.

The hotel is well situated, close to the Patong bitch, bangla road with AMAZING pool with a bar (drinking & eating)  on the rooftop with wonderful view to the city ❤️  Super comfy beds in the room👌 The staff is super nice 😍 IMHO price is really cheap for this standard. Recommend!

It is 4/5 minutes walk away from the main strip road (so about 10 from Bangla Road) 2 minutes from a 7/11 shop and just next door there is a coffee smoothie shop and a chemist.

Good location from Bangla road about 10-15 minute walk away from the madness.

Only about 1km from all the usual attractions,  Jungceylon shopping centre, Patong beach and Bangla Road.

Hotel is close to patong and Bangla road.

Walking distance to bangla road and patong beach approximately 12 minutes walk.

Good Indian restaurant are also available at the Bangla road.

but unfortunately they are rock hard and that was the charging for pillows policy detracted from my rating and writing this review.

The front desk charged us 1500 bhat for airport transfer while the regular price is 800 bhat.

They’ve told us we have to pay to cancel, advised me to wait to a later date, so I lose my money all together and then want to charge me extra,

You should make a system using room cards or something to stop this.

I lost 2 key rooms and they charged me 600 baht for 2.

Upon checkout we were informed we would be charged as there was a T Spoon missing from our room.

Amazing hotel with Nice room.Rooftop Pool is awesome and best part of this hotel,I have never seen such beautiful pool till date .Breakfast is also Nice.Only thing which was not liked -Charges for loss of key are too high and Road facing rooms should have sound proof glass as it was too noisy which was very disturbing at night .

There are beers, sodas, nuts and sunblock as well with charges of course.

though I had left my credit card as a deposit I was told that we couldn't leave the hotel until the room had been checked so were again asked to sit at reception until someone checked the room.

The local fruit Durian is not allowed to be brought inside the room, else they charge a hefty cleaning fee..that is justified due to the strong smell of that fruit.

PS : They charges 1000 baht as joiner fee.

If you need even an empty bowl from hotel they charge you 100-200 THB.

but they charged us for them (they we're only 20 baht which is $0.62 USD, so I didn't complain, and also may have misunderstood her.)

although I'm not sure if this is included in the rate or charged additionally.

Ultimately our flights got cancelled coming home so we had to find somewhere for an extra 4 nights so I am glad that they wanted to charge stupid rates,otherwise we may have made the mistake of extending our stay.

In the wash basin water was very dirty which you can not use for anything and we had to use our drinking water for the same which was charged.

but have less noise
- THEY CHARGE FOR KIDS BREAKFAST.

If you have an additional guest  it will cost 1000 baht charge each night.

The location is great and the prices are very reasonable.

About a 10 minute walk from Patong beach so the location is good.

Good hotel good staff  one staff name Alif Bell boy is a gem  very good person location is very good around 2.5 km spa is also near we can rent bike around 200 bhatt one of the best swimming pool on the roof top

2) Location is good as it's close to Beaches and Bangla walking street yet little off so that you can have peaceful night sleep without noise.

please keep away from the travel agent in the reception, I know it does not belong to the hotel she only rents their office from the hotel.

The Marina Phuket Hotel is located a few blocks back from the beach at the Northwest end of Patong.

We had no issues at all with the location as it's a short walk to the nearby beach/main areas and our two year old Ivy has made cherished memories.

but less than a 4 star, although hotel is really good location wise and everything but there are some issues which can be sorted.

This hotel is great for visiting.. best in the area.. all the best locations are nearby.

There’s a good gym located on the 9th floor which my partner used daily.

Location is pretty good with a few decent eating places close by.

The rooms, location and staff were really good.

The pool deck is superb, the staff was always smily and the location is perfect.

The hotel is at a great location, the beach is situated extremely close by.

Other guests could be noisy sometimes - as each floor must have about 30-40 rooms.

The walls are thin and you can hear everything people say from inside your room from people in the hallways as they coming back to the rooms at all hours of the night.

but the aircon was somewhat noisy but still manageable.

And the door leading to the balcony has a good seal hence it wont get too noisy.

But be careful with the room side - street is pretty noisy.

Hotel is on a very busy main road and it was NOISY morning and night.

but due to the quiet season, this did not bother me much.

The aircon system sounded like it was going to explode one night and kept us awake all night , the shower,

but they sounded Thai a few times in the morning woke me up talking loudly from a distance.

but far enough away to be quiet in this very busy and otherwise noisy town.

The room was facing onto the Main Street and you could hear everything through the glass.

The only problems with the room were: very firm mattress, the shower over the bath design means water from the shower leaks onto the floor under the glass screen, the balcony door isn't sound proof so noise from the market, road below is continuous.

Upon check in the receptionist spent the whole time on the phone while taking our passports etc 

The hotel is located on a very busy road so the noise of motor bikes can be heard late into the night.

Obviously, you are in the middle of it - so if you're a light sleeper and want to sleep before dawn earplugs would be a good idea.

It is right opposite the night market on the main road, can be a little noisy at night.

And only a cheap taxi ride to any Phuket landmarks.

Close enough walk to the beach and a grab ride (more expensive than most places) to Bangla road.

The rooftop looks awesome and rooms are really clean.

Hospitality and breakfast is very good rooms r clean and staff is very good hotel view is fav .hotel is in middle place so there is not any expense for go here and there so so we can save our time and money also

Room cleanliness was top notch  my housekeeper was so meticulous and tidy .

The room smelt like BO as the pillows smelt they had been slept on by a smelly person and not washed.

but we then asked for someone to change our bed as it smelt like someone had already slept in it but no one turned up to change the bed.

Didn’t have one good nights sleep there, breakfast was garbage, I’ve stayed in Patong 6 times and this is the worst hotel I’ve been in, full of Indian travellers, the only good point is the pool

but the music was so loud and full on I couldn't chill and relax- might be an age thing 😉 I would stay here again though as it's a bit quieter than being in the centre of all the action as I love a good nights sleep.

It seemed that the room had no voice isolation what so ever - the street voices were so loud (even at the 7th floor) that it was as little difficult to get sleep and mornings turned out to start really early.

Also, the rooms facing the road are a bit noisy, and I believe if they would have thicker windows that could solve this problem and provide a better quality sleep, it was hard to sleep until we get used to the noise.

Unfortunately, our room was facing the street : we had to buy earplugs on the second night since we didn’t sleep at all the first night.

Once you got use to the blaring tunes you could sleep

i probably would not stay here again as i really need good night sleeps.

but unfortunately you won’t get any sleep at night because the noise from the road below pierces right through the hotel walls and windows and straight into your head.

If sleep is an issue recommend the back facing room.

I would say if your on a very tight budget and want something just to come back to sleep in.

however ifyour room faces the road or market stall, ask for earplugs or if it’s available ask to change your room if you want to sleep -cars and numerous motorbikes are active and very very very loud till dawn.

although we were on the 5th floor it was SOOO loud, we really struggled to sleep because you could hear everything that was driving past and the place opposite often played loud music!

Rooms are far to loud it feels like you are sleeping next to the road on the street,

However, the window noise insulation could be better as every evening right to the morning, loud music thumping somewhere permeated the room making light sleepers challenging to get into deep sleep.

So the only way is to wear ear plugs if you want to sleep.

Upon arrival we were greeted by Beverly who also looked after us at breakfast.

Difficulties for walking to our room, because there wasn't direct lift to 6 stage and my 70 years old mom had to walk to 6 stage by foot.

After such a long time unoperational in humid clinate, many rooms will require renovation

- a lot of water in general areas when raining
- a breakfast could be a bit better with fresh orange juice and better quality pastry
- elevators are not air conditioned with humidity and odours

Overall, we are happy with our stay at Chanalai Garden Resort and will be delighted to return

If I would nit-pick some stuff is that when you come out of elevator, you need to go around through reception to go to the main entrance. .

There are elevators in different sections, so to go up with bags, you walk from one elevator to another.

The only shortcoming is that it needs to climb the steps or transfer elevator two times to arrive the room.

Even the stairs are not a problem , there are lifts,

but plenty of lifts mean you dont need to take the stairs.

First thing to be aware of is that this hotel is built on a hillside so you need to be comfortable climbing several metres upwards in hot humid conditions asthere is an excess of steps and only minimal number of elevators.

Our room was ~110 feet above the street entrance, and required 3 elevators to reach along with unavoidable stairs in strong heat.

A few things that the hotel can improve on:
-The layout of the hotel is a little confusing and elevators don't take you everywhere.

However I didnt know you had to 1. take a lift up to 4th floor.. 2.

The elevators and its carpets are ugly,dirt and smells bad.

Also a maze of corridors, stairs and lifts to get to your room!

They gave us the wrong room so we need to walk again to another room and its not convenient because some floors doesn't have lift.

From reception, we had to take 2 lift nd walk 2 stairs to reach our room.

There is a connecting series of lifts and ramps between the various parts of the complex

You do have to tackle stairs along with lifts.

Our room was a little far which needed to take lifts and stairs

3) although we have to change lift to reach our hotel room,

The hotel staff offered us all a welcoming treat, a few scoops of nicely served icecream,  the memory which especially my child still keeps at heart ;) :) :)

I loved the sea view from our room - it was breathtaking (my favourite view of all the hotel rooms which we stayed at in Thailand).

We arrived to a warm reception , offered cold towels, a cold drink and an ice cream!

From the personal touches (home made ice cream, juice & cold towels) on arrival to food, the in-room facilities/personal touches to the quick, seamless check out my stay was faultless.

After a 14hr journey, we were greeted by friendly staff, a refreshing drink, cold towel and an ice cream.

We loved the staff very polite when served at dinner time and on reception.

The hotel is big and upon check in we got ice cream, drink and cold towel.

Welcome drink, wet towel, and ice cream on arrival was a wonderful feature.

I have stayed at many hotels and have never received ice cream at check in!

Check in and out – nice welcome with tea and ice cream.

From requests to have eggs cooked a certain way at breakfast, to arranging day trips or even popping down to reception for a cheeky ice cream cone well after all the shops and restaurants had shut, every encounter made us feel like the hotel was staffed solely for us and that we had their full attention.

One of the best hotels in Phuket, beach is just 5 min walk, nice swimming pool with bar, clean room, friendly stuff, very good breakfast for buffet, very big hotel so you won’t feel uncomfortable at all.

but got given a superior room in on the ground floor that stank of drains and the balcony was a mass of overgrown bushes with no view and full of flies.

but for three nights we had dinner in a beautiful restaurant on the other side of the road and your water delivery trucks made our dinners a nightmare because of the noise they make and the smell of gasoline coming from the engine pumping the water.

However a slight suery smell from the bathroom at times.

**The elevators especially reek of mold and mildew which made them virtually unusable.

but at least it didn't stink like sewage.

Buffet breakfast is pretty boring they serving pastry and stale bread!!!

When the room staff attended lots of things were missed toiletries were not replaced , cups and glasses were taken and not replaced , Ashtray went and never came back  and the balcony wasnt swept which meant that sand and dust kept being trodden all over the tiled floor ending up in the beds.

Sometimes our room got missed and the bathroom wasn’t thoroughly prepared so was starting to get mouldy in some areas.

The water didn't leave you smelling of chemicals and was clear and clean.

We didn't have any problems with our room other than the drains were a bit smelly at times, which didn't last long and reception couldn't do enough to help.

It smelled like mildew and sewage inside.

Rooms are a little tired and could do with some updating, pillows need replacing as they smelt.

Really dirty rooms with mold in bathroom and spiders nets on walls.

If you have a misfortune of being accommodated in a shared "private" room (interconnected rooms separated with doors) with neighbours who SMOKE cigarettes inside their NON-SMOKING room, and you are inconsiderate enough to complain about the smell enough times to be granted a room change (it took us a couple of days), you will get punished by having to leave the room with your luggage before check-out hours and having to wait until check-in for a SMOKE FREE room. 6.

Initially at check in we did not like the room we were given (dated and some unpleasant smell) and the front desk staff (Mimi) was very accommodating by quickly getting us another room.

however despite being a non smoking room on a number of occasions was inundated by a cigarette smell, presumably from the air conditioning vents.

They are both assets to the hotel.I hope to come back again
