Most sadly, this is the loss of the two families that historically have worked on the beach in harmony with the hotel and provided things such as drinks and beach massages.

The private beach is clean, calm water, and nobody trying to sell you anything.

The property is located in lush tropical surroundings with private beach.

The location is excellent on the Surin beach next to the Amanpuri.

It was one of the very few which offer rooms which have direct access from the room onto the beach, which is what we wanted.

Don’t miss out – visit the Beach Bar!

The team at the beach came quickly to help me clean my wound and kindly assisted me to get to the hotel and back to my room.

Absolutely beautiful resort on one of the most gorgeous beaches I've ever seen.

The Surin is a stunning hotel with amazing private beach views.

It was really nice hotel with the beach on our doorstep.

The private beach is beautiful and very relaxing.

The staff is excellent food is good and the beach is probably the best in phuket.

A second visit and this remains a great resort, on a beautiful beach, with the experience made by the exceptional staff.

So the hotel understandably build a protective wall to prevent all the future visitors of this crappy walkway boondoggle to flood beautiful Pansea Beach.

The rooms include stylish beach hats to help protect you from the sun and they even provide a nice beach bag.

It was the ideal first stop on our honeymoon - complete with attentive and friendly staff, delicious food, and wonderful views.

Breakfast was amazing, so much choice of both buffet and alacart.

The food is of the highest quality - the breakfast, a dream!

The breakfast, in particular, was a standout—my children especially loved it.

We were also impressed by the breakfast offering and service.

My wife chooses this hotel for our anniversary & my birthday.

Attentive staff, incredible bkfst buffet.

The food was delicious at every restaurant

Breakfast was a lot better, they have buffet and you can also order off menu.

The rooms are beautiful, the pool and beach is gorgeous, the food (especially breakfast) is delicious and most importantly, every staff member is so kind and courteous.

The beach is unrivaled, as is their breakfast bar and service.

Took a hotel buggy down to the entrance to stroll to Surin Beach and did a private boat trip to Phi Phi provided by the hotel.

Before each service, we were welcomed with a delicious tea then taken to a private room where we could enjoy our services side by side.

Very well maintained and clean hotel resort located at a wonderful and clean beach (which is due to the location a real private beach).

From the private beach views, the incredible staff, gorgeous pool, amazing restaurants with full Thai Vegan menus, it felt like heaven on earth.

The beach offers a nice, private ambience.

The hotel is built on the hillside and you will be required to walk few steps to go to their fabulous private beach or to their pool.

It was our third stay at The Surin at private Pansea Beach.

Gorgeous private cottages with a feeling of home with private balcony facing the Sea.

Just a private, quite place, with a nicely mixed public of mostly couples and families, with views to die for from the restaurants.

The room was very private with a beautiful view of the ocean.

For example we ordered a plate of pasta, which arrived sweet- how is that possible?

Exceptional staff, beautiful hotel and rooms, great food and easy access to explore Phuket - we did a guided car tour round old town, big Buddha and Wat Chalong.

Outside of the resort there are several convenience stores if needed, and you can easily take a taxi to tons of restaurants nearby.

In my experience, the restaurants are a chapter by themselves - There is a great variety in the menu and the food is of an extremely high quality.

The lunch and dinner food was also good and if you didn't want to leave the resort you could easily not do so.

The food and drinks were delicious as well.

Breakfast was amazing, all the choices and al a cart menu, poolside cocktails and food were great.

Went for BBQ & Thai dinner, highly recommended.

We have the Loy Katong Buffet Dinner and it was exceptional Thai traditional food.

We mainly eat at the Thai restaurant which was my favourite.

Every detail from the flowers, music, set up, entertainment and food was arranged to prefection allowing us just to enjoy our day without any worry.

The stairs didn't bother us, because a club car was always available to drive us to our room.

The rooms are pretty small compared to the hotels we have stayed at recently

The check in experience was a breeze and our room was incredible.

The decor of everything (room, restaurants, pool etc) is beautiful and authentic.

In addition to the wonderful rooms and the most beautiful location.

Stunning room, stunning views, wonderful beach and sea, would 10/10 do this again.

We settled onto a beach lounge chair to wait for the cleaners to prep the room.

Everything from the staff, food, rooms and facilities were outstanding as usual (this is our fifth trip here and won’t be the last!).

The rooms are spacious and have all amenities.

For a hotel with such a loyal cohort of return visitors - especially in the Christmas period - this shift had effects on goodwill and enjoyment.

All of the staff are happy and enjoy working at this resort- I rarely see this at hotels/resorts around Phuket (staff usually look burned out, or unhappy to be there).

The hotel staff are enormously smiling and very service minded.

The service is superb, and staff genuinely do all possible to ensure you have an enjoyable stay.

They were alwaar extremely friendly and helpfull.

Our friends had recommended the hotel to us initially, and we’re so excited to pass our recommendation on to others. Thank you for making our stay so memorable (helping us celebrate a honeymoon and a birthday in the same stay!)

The staff at the hotel were as attentive and friendly as you would expect at a 5 star Hotel.

Personally, I am most impressed by the staff.

I wanted to especially thank: Bee, Mujalim, Charida, Beau, and her team (I forget the woman who checked us in, and the Bell men who helped with our luggage), as they went well above and beyond to provide personalized, timely, and thoughtful service and care.

Almost everywhere you have to go through stairs and there are no elevators in the resort. Overall, excellent hotel, nice attentive staff, everything (nearly) perfect :)

All the employees here are friendly and helpful.

As others have mentioned there are a lot of stairs (not something that bothered me at all) just something to note for those who may find it difficult.

The only downside for me was the room was a little small to what I am used & lots off stairs .

So long as that continues, and you’re not daunted by stairs (I’m sure other reviews explain this in detail) then I’d strongly recommend you add The Surin to your vacation plans.

Lastly the stairs to get everywhere in the hotel is very cumbersome.

It just is part of the character that makes this place special - and by the way, you can always ask the staff for a buggy ride to bring you up a bit higher, so the stairs you need to take to your room can be reduced drastically.

Be aware there are A LOT of stairs here - if you have problems with stairs, I would not come.

The only thing is that it has lots of stairs and you might wanna choose lower ground rooms if you have kids or elders.

Many stairs so not suggested for people with moving issues,

Be warned, there are a lot of stairs to get around,

Only negative aspect I can mention is that there are some trees that loose berries at this time of the year and these fall in front of our room which made it look somehow dirty, also on the stairs to walk down to the beach.

If you book a Hillside bungalow there are probably 100 stairs.

but you need a degree of fitness to move from beach to reception as there are a lot of very steep stairs.

Would not recommend for those that need accessibility, too many stairs!

Because of the hillside location, you may need to walk quite a lot of steep stairs to reach your room though.

The hotel is built on a cliff edge and therefore a little challenging for anyone disabled as there are a lot of stairs to manage.

It is built into a steep slope and you need to be able to negotiate stairs.

The only downside was the large amount of stairs to climb to reach the room,

although if you have mobility problems or joint issues, this may not be for you as the cottages are built along the hill which means that there’s a lot of climbing up and down stairs to get anywhere.

The Surin is still the grande dame of Thai hotels that we always relish going back to.

We had a complimentary Thai massage which was also excellent.

We walked on the beach, we all had massages and the last night we ate in their Restaurant and had a lovely Thai meal.

Tasty Thai food and magnificent sunset constitute a memorable dining experience during our stay in Phuket!

We also ate in the Thai food restaurant which I can recommend likewise.

The Thai food was excellent and even for Kids there is always something on the menu.

In other Thai resorts, they usually arrange the bed, bathroom amenities, towels very well and help to organize your toiletries also on towels.

The Thai food at the Beach restaurant is some of the best you will find anywhere in Thailand.

Fantastic Easter break at The Surin Phuket, tranquil location, stunning beach front cottage, delicious Thai food at the beach restaurant, perfect level of staff service and cleanliness.

but when in Thailand we prefer Thai cuisine.

We ate food in all of the hotel restaurants as well as trying some Thai food in the local cafes / restaurants just outside the hotel gates.

The food is amazing especially the very authentic Thai food.

The food was delicious, and I highly recommend the Thai restaurant for a romantic meal.

Definitely would be back 

Oh and definitely try the spa..even

If you do not like to have a massage in the Spa there are several Thai-ladies on the beach offering massage services on your chair.

The spa was a great deal and we visited almost every other day of our visit.

We went to the spa every day and I was so happy we used the spa as it was amazing.

We also absolutely loved the spa and the child activités in the afternoon (parents need a break too from time to time!).

Of course, I had to check out the spa and I had an amazing Thai hand massage with organic oils.

This is comes from the reception staff, the housekeeping, the beach boys, the spa girls and in paticullar the staff at breakfast, lunch and dinner.

We had the chance to experience a  massage at the Spa and it was fantastic.

The spa,  food, room and bathroom amenities are at top quality as last year.

The spa situated up on the mountain offers a beautiful retreat from world below and offers traditional Thai treatments.

The drinks are cheaper and the massages cheaper than the spa,

We visited the spa and had massages which were great!

the service, the food, the spa, the location, the setting, the rooms just fantastic.

Quite pity that during my stay some concierge staff and the spa team is really warm, kind and attentive.

The spa has by far the best offering in Phuket.

Breakfast was exceptional every thing you could want.

Breakfast has lots of variety of food to offer include vegan choices and freshly made noodles.

Breakfast was immense, even the fussiest of eaters would be catered for.

The food was great loads of choice for breakfast and the Thai buffet night was excellent quality and value for money.

We took advantage of room service and the restaurants on site and the food was delicious.

The breakfast buffet was great and had a lot of variety, even for vegetarians.

The breakfast is pretty decent with many dishes from international to local.

There is an on site restaurant where we had breakfast every day and dinner a few times.

The pools were clean, cocktails sensational and so cheap ,bar food  was fantastic.

The kids room provided great entertainment for the children, in addition to the many shallow pools that offers a great place to crawl around in the water.

All rooms are in villa very close to swimming pool.

We spent one of the two days there just lounging by the pool

Several gorgeous pools to choose from, idyllic places to cool off & enjoy the poolside refreshments.

We enjoyed spending our time by the pool.

A fantastic place to stay  all the staff are so helpful and friendly  room was outstanding  pools were awesome and the food wow   cleanliness to the max   shuttle bus to the room (and beach ) the resort is a must go back too for me   i have to write 200 characters for my review lol

The pools are beautiful and there are always sunbeds available.

We booked a pool room which was so nice to be able to walk in and swim from your bedroom door through the beautiful pool garden to the bar!

With 5 swimming pools to choose from, you will be only a minute or two away from enjoying a dip or just kicking back and enjoying the sun!

The resort is big and plenty of lovely pool options.

Pool areas are fantastic and the grounds are lush with tropical plants and are well looked after.

There are lots of rooms where you can have direct access to the swimming pool.

We spent a number of days lounging around one of their pools which was just what we needed.

Our bungalow was spacious and bright and located near one of the largest pool.

The best part of the resort for me are the pools.

The restaurant, Mango Pool and Spa are very nice.

We used room service and the pool menu a few times and found it reasonably priced and delicious.

The staff were always helping* with them and providing them with bananas and other food.

We can the pool access room this time and it was very convenient with close access to a pool bar and restaurant.

Rooms are huge, the pools are nice, the food is great and inexpensive.

We ate dinner on several nights in the restaurant and again choice and quality very good.

I took a milk bath to help calm my skin and relax a bit one evening before dinner.

The food was excellent and Mandarava also offers Thai cooking classes with the hotel's chef for those looking to expand their skills.

In the Karon area, there are plenty of restaurants and shops so you can also walk around if the beach is not what you are going after.

That coupled with the amazing location, incredible facilities and the great and affordable food & drinks they had to offer really set the whole tone of the trip.

The rooms, food and facilities were equally amazing.

The noodle soup station was my favourite.

The cost difference was credited for use in the hotel complex and was used for room service  dinner and drinks etc.

There are a few shops down the road,  7-11, massage, a couple of restaurants and laundry services.

The rooms were 4 star and spotless all the time with daily cleaning.

The resort staff were lovely;  really helpful & very kind -  a delightful surprise when they delivered a pretty bunch of flowers to my room when I was unwell.

While the room is great and comfortable, we struggled a bit with the lighting because it was a bit dim.

The rooms are well-equiped and the housekeepers make sure they stay clean throughout your stay.

The Design of the room was beautiful, and modern.

While the resort is built on a slope, they have tuk-tuks that you can use to get to and from your room to the lobby.

The rooms are beautifully spacious, clean, modern and bright.

We stayed in a tropical room which was roomy and well maintained.

You have everything you need in the room.
