Breakfast was exceptional every thing you could want.

Breakfast has lots of variety of food to offer include vegan choices and freshly made noodles.

Breakfast was immense, even the fussiest of eaters would be catered for.

The food was great loads of choice for breakfast and the Thai buffet night was excellent quality and value for money.

We took advantage of room service and the restaurants on site and the food was delicious.

The breakfast buffet was great and had a lot of variety, even for vegetarians.

The breakfast is pretty decent with many dishes from international to local.

There is an on site restaurant where we had breakfast every day and dinner a few times.

Friendly staff, amazing breakfast, beautiful rooms, and of course the highlight is THE POOLS.

Due to this saga, I can only rate them 4 Bubbles on Tripadvisor.

We only had breakfast in the hotel 1 day out of 3 due to the bad experience.

Sadly the second restaurant located higher up on the hill is still closed probably due to limited number of tourists

but when we visited, only the main restaurant was open due to the low occupancy due to covid.

we were sad to be leaving, then 2 days before we were due to fly home my partner tested positive for covid!

Our room wasn’t due to be accessible until 14:00

We later learned that this section was likely an older part of the resort and due to certain environmental conditions it was more susceptible to the issue we had.

Probably due to the lack of entertainment.

Really disappointed told our rep at trailfinders need an easy access hotel due to knee problems she couldn't of sent us to a hotel with less steps and slopes.Also resort very tired pool bar filthy .sun beds stained umbrellas very worn furniture in room tired broken hangers .old bathroom very upset

Don't give the resort 1 star due to your on incompetence because you didn't read.

The massage therapists were very respectful and careful to ask if you have any medical conditions or if you have any spots you want them to avoid due to past injuries or other matters.

Finally our stay ended with our pick up due @ 12pm.

but tv seems to not work that well due to monsoonal rain apparently.

We avoid the main pool due to the number of children there, so spent our time around the much quieter pomelo or coconut pool.

Due to the location of the resort, you are driven in a type of small van (not unlike a large golf buggy) to your accommodation with your luggage.

But we had to get moved due to our room having an adjoining door and the neighbours were noisey!

We hardly got any sleep on the last two nights due to howling and barking so we left exhausted, disappointed the staff didn't seem interested in doing anything about it.

But most of the time once we were finished before the shuttle was due to collect, we would always be charged 200baht even in a tuk tuk.

This was our choice, due to observations we had made, and the fact that our room was not too far a walk from the steps down to the lobby.

Shower door did not fit and flooded bathroom every time it was used

Air conditioning unit leaked ( this was fixed for us

but not fixed, so we did have this issue ongoing, however rain’s such a big part of Thailand as much as Sunshine, so these things happen.

Generally I think the owner needs to fix some things all arround, like a rusty boiler out of a room,  like the tubing arround the rooms, like the swamps that I dont see the point of being there and also to make more room for all the visitors in the pools.

however they were fairly fixed on the price and almost a little embarrassed to offer a discount.

One person complained and they worked to fix it up right away.

We had one small issue with our door, which was fixed straight away.

though they could have) and fixed the dates.

When my WiFi was not connecting, a staff member came to my room to fix it.

When i raised this the lady at the desk said with a smile that they fix the costs for their customers.

We phoned to the front desk and maintenance arrived quickly to fix it - or so we thought!

One of the blinds came down during our stay which we reported to reception who fixed it before we returned to our room a few hours later.

The only recommendation I have for the resort is to fix some of the loose small tiles on the floor of the Mango pool

My sister in law has just been hit in the head by a wooden panel you were meant to have fixed 2 days earlier, and this is the best they can do???

I was covered in soap and shampoo and my boyfriend called them to fix it.

We called the front desk around 8am, and they came to fix it. .

Unfortunately, there was no way to fix this during our stay.

The loose tiles were being fixed during our stay.

The staff were always helping* with them and providing them with bananas and other food.

We can the pool access room this time and it was very convenient with close access to a pool bar and restaurant.

Rooms are huge, the pools are nice, the food is great and inexpensive.

A fantastic place to stay  all the staff are so helpful and friendly  room was outstanding  pools were awesome and the food wow   cleanliness to the max   shuttle bus to the room (and beach ) the resort is a must go back too for me   i have to write 200 characters for my review lol

We ate dinner on several nights in the restaurant and again choice and quality very good.

I took a milk bath to help calm my skin and relax a bit one evening before dinner.

The food was excellent and Mandarava also offers Thai cooking classes with the hotel's chef for those looking to expand their skills.

In the Karon area, there are plenty of restaurants and shops so you can also walk around if the beach is not what you are going after.

That coupled with the amazing location, incredible facilities and the great and affordable food & drinks they had to offer really set the whole tone of the trip.

The rooms, food and facilities were equally amazing.

The noodle soup station was my favourite.

The restaurant, Mango Pool and Spa are very nice.

The cost difference was credited for use in the hotel complex and was used for room service  dinner and drinks etc.

There are a few shops down the road,  7-11, massage, a couple of restaurants and laundry services.

All staff were friendly, helpful and went out of there way to meet any needs we had.

The staff were so welcoming and loving towards our children.

The resort staff were lovely;  really helpful & very kind -  a delightful surprise when they delivered a pretty bunch of flowers to my room when I was unwell.

The whole resort is peaceful, beautifully landscaped with lush greenery everywhere and all the staff are helpful and welcoming.

The staff are the friendliest I have ever experienced, nothing is too much trouble.

The staff were friendly and all quite fluent in English, and were ever ready to go above and beyond their call of duty to ensure your stay is magical.

Staff are all exceptional and cannot do enough for you.

From the very first person we met at front desk, I believe her name was Lemon, to the very last person we met upon checkout - everyone was extremely friendly, helpful and attentive.

All staff were very friendly and extremely helpful.

Service is great and the staff very friendly.

One of the standouts for this resort was the staff, every single person we encountered were lovely.

I could not get over how polite and friendly everyone was.

All the staff were so friendly and kind and made a huge effort to make sure that all of our needs were seen to.

I will definitely be back, and am already missing the hospitality of the staff as im typing this review.

Of course, the layout is a bit descending so be prepared to climb the stairs.

It is on the side of a hill so be aware that there are stairs and inclines,

Our driver dropped us and our cases at the bottom of the stairs up to reception.

although you would struggle with the amount of stairs - no lift from what I could see.

The resort has many level and yes there are lots of stairs and steep roadways,

It’s situated on a hill and there’s a lot of stairs to get to the villa,

If you are unable to climb stairs it’s not suitable.

The walking- now if you struggle with stairs or walking is difficult DO NOT STAY HERE.

but the stairs could be an issue for others.

Set slightly on a cliff you will find yourself climbing a few stairs to get to your room,

After making my way around the hills and stairs I was tied, hungry and frustrated!

The resort is on the side of the hill so there are lots of stairs

Come here, you may need to walk a few flights of stairs or they will drive you to your room.

From our room to reception and back was around 320 stairs

Just be aware that you will have to climb a lot of stairs to get around

Plus there are still 20+ stairs everywhere.

For a breakfest ( In front of our room ) we had to climb  120  stairs and then  still climb up the hill.

Besides the first day issues, the resort itself was great, except for one BIG item, the amount of stairs and hills!

All rooms are reached by going up and / or down flights of stairs.

Everything from the staffs, the cleanliness and amenities, beach etc are at high level of standard professionalism.

Extremely private beach and truly memorable and unique property.

Beautiful hotel with cottages on hills and  along the private beach .

Our cottage was metres away from the turquoise sea and sumptuous beach.

The staff from check in to the Breakfast, dining and beach were so friendly and helpful.

The Surin is one of the few resorts in Phuket with a private beach, which also have cottage suites that are situated directly on the beach.

The beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Phuket and is being kept clean on a daily basis.

Food is excellent and they make pretty decent cocktails at the beach bar, which is even more enjoyable during the daily happy hour!

The beach is really nice and not crowded at all because it’s a private beach.

The Surin is situated on what must be the prettiest beach in Phuket, which is private and set well away from any external noise.

The beach is beautiful and especially like that it is partially public with some local fruit sellers and massage people - this was a great addition.

Staff, accommodations, ambiance, privacy, pool, beach, landscaping, & food were high quality.

Beach and pool are great including the very attentive staff.

The location is superb, and we highly recommend a deluxe beach suite for a family of 4.

It was 150 steps from the beach to our bungalow!

We booked a 2 room cottage and since we got to the Hotel it was beautiful and service was the best, beach is private and beautiful, spa is really nice and amazing experience, all services in room where top of the line, restaurants and bars perfect, food taste and you have best of both world in food and drinks Thai and American, we loved it and definitely will be back soon.

The views from the lovely lobby are scenic and the amazing beach and calming swimming pool all make this a truly memorable stay.

Other guests have commented on the stairs, either choose a cottage close to the beach or just make use of the golf buggy’s.

The beach is well maintained and semi private with locals selling drinks and massage

Breakfast is out of this world, delightful.

The main pool is the centre point of the hotel, with a bar and restaurant/ breakfast dining surrounding it at different terracing levels.

The breakfast is one of the best with A la carte and buffet choices included.

Breakfast was wonderful, so was dinner by the poolside and watching sunset.

We got Room 111 and it was really close to the morning breakfast and same distance to the pool/beach.

The swimming pool is ok and there is happy hour from 4 to 5 pm breakfast excellent room very clean to go to market take grab which cost 300 bath ni worreies you will be happy all the time reservation through the hotel better than any other mode of reservation

The breakfasts and dinners by the poolside did not disappoint.

Breakfast is excellent and great quality, and choice without being overwhelming.

The breakfast quality is great, one of the best breakfasts I've had in Thailand.

The breakfast choice is very high quality and they also have an A La Carte option which is cooked fresh.

The cottage is simple and elegant, the breakfast is delicious, the front desk ever willing to help with even the simplest requests.

Breakfast was good, enough to cater to Asian and Western palates.

Having breakfast with a view of the sea was lovely.

This was offset by not having as many people at breakfast and other meals and a generally quieter.

Breakfast was great… we looked forward to the view and food  each morning.

The food was delicious, the beach services make you dont want to leave the hotel for anything.

The breakfast had so many options to choose from - even the pickiest of eaters will be satisfied.

though this may be because a few places were closed for refurbishment due to the time of year.

Resort is closed to most of the places in Phuket.

Although not technically a private beach, it might as well be, because the entire beachfront is owned by The Surin and another 5 star hotel, which appeared to be closed for renovations during our stay.

I talked to the local people who live around, the resort closed the only roads that leads there with security guards, in order to forbid the locals to enjoy the beach.

The pool was under repair and the main restaurant was closed so was a bit disappointed

2 of 4 restaurants were closed, I suppose due to the season (October).

as the beach is closed for this season due to jelly fish attach .

although I have heard the military have now closed them all down which is a shame.

She tried to sorry and closed the door and ran away from my room.

The other thing is they closed down a lot of their activities due to monsoon which is normal

The main dining room and bar were also closed for repair leaving only the pool bar.There is/was no mention on their website.

For example, the sliding door to our room are not properly closed and does not gave us the full privacy.

The pool was also closed for a day,  apparently the missing tiles are a problem as I have read in other reviews.

There was a small issue with the pool which was closed for 2 days after an extremely heavy thunderstorm in the night, and I have to mention the steps, which didn't bother us,

There was some renovation going on so part of the gym had been closed off.

great location  outstanding service ,  over priced when comparing to anther 5 star hotel in Phuket or to the shop next to the hotel , even the spa and message rate is too high  Ac at my room 329 was too noisy  pool was fantastic before they closed , especially the smell of the water was great

But guests should be aware the beach is often closed or red flagged for safety during extended periods of time.

Half the room can be closed off and behind it is his and hers hanging space, separate shower and separate toilet then his and hers sink space on either side of the bathroom.

I had a mid height room and could never be bothered to go back to the room due to the effort (I like walking).

Much preferred the ambience of the one by the pool, due to the lower occupancy the menu was the same

We like to travel to places that are less crowded, and due to Covid, we decided to visit Phuket and The Surin.

Little did we know this actually helped us out sooner than expected as sadly due to Covid-19 My husband and I had to rearrange our plans and cut out honeymoon short which meant coming back to phuket instead of heading to bangkok as origionally planned for our final week of honeymoon.

Had to curtail our stay due to coronavirus-related flight cancellations.

but due to change in personal circumstances we couldn't make the trip.

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to cut our trip short and head away to be with family.

We did not mind that much, as they do their utmost to correct any mistake they might cause due to any language barrier.

We stayed offseason, so the red flags were up at the beach indicating that it was not safe to swim due to the normal rainy season weather.

We were due to be giving our lectures in a dark sweaty room underneath Surin football stadium.

We, along with many guests, were left stuck due to lack of buggy to ferry us to the main reception.

- Not for people with leg problem due to the stairs

I love the beach!!

There was also a lot of guests and the buffet became a bit messy after a short while due to this.

Service was outstanding, even on check out when we weren't able to have a late checkout due to arriving guests we were allowed access to an unoccupied villa to shower and change before our departure.

The only challenge was the stairs, due to the infrastructure the hotel has a lot of stairs to access restaurants and the rooms,

The only problem I had was booking a trip to Phi Phi islands due to leave at 11am, only to arrive in the lobby at 1050 to be told the trip was canceled.

Our entrance was also a little cramped due to two sunbeds squeezed in to the veranda next to a large tree.

but  I never experienced that, perhaps it was the time of year as wind was blowing towards the hotel rather than away from it…

Sticky door locks and handles due to the salt water, but there is nothing they can do about it.

We cancelled our stay at another hotel due to a poor experience and came here.

Happy hour at 6pm for half price drinks at their beach bar, and they also serve delicious home made ice cream.

The prices are more than half and the demarcation is the sand.

Also accessible by taxi (use Bolt application is very convenient and less exorbitant) to the more touristy Boat Avenue and Lagoon Road.

Service was attentive, and the GM Franck paid personal attention to details.

If you turn up early for Happy Hour no problem still half price drinks.

Congratulations to the management and the team to perform such a great service considering the complicated condition due to Covid and the increasing prices for raw material!

I actually prefer the hotel to the far more expensive Amanpuri hotel which shares the same beach.

There's a good chance some of the friendly local wildlife will find its way into your room, on this trip a couple of cute baby gecko's and a totally harmless preying mantis paid us a visit.

This was our 10/12th visit to Thailand and typically we always eat out along the roads, where food is cheap and so much better than in the hotels.

We asked for late check out and it was given for a great price!

It shares the beach with the Amanpuri which is 4-5x more expensive, save yourself the dollars and stay here for the same beach.

The food fresh and the prices for 5 star hotel very fair.

Food here taste really good and with reasonable price.

They pay so much attention to details, and a lot of the service provided could easily be missed if you don't look hard enough.

With all the closures and the cost cutting in the devastated hospitality industry, The Surin was a haven with its immaculate rooms&equipment, top food and suset dinners on its stunning private Pansea beach.

All accomodation is similar in a wooden bungalow style with the main pricing differential being location.

Worth that extra (I don't believe the beach front rooms are worth an even greater premium).

Other than that, it’s as expected for the price range.

Very good that the hotel allow some locals to sell drinks/ice creams on the beach at very reasonable prices.

We booked directly with the hotel, and it was an easy process with no errors.

She has arranged everything starting from Island Boat Trip Booking (Phi Phi Island & James Bond Island).

The front desk staff also provided good advice on activities and assisted with bookings.

Try to book the rooms betwen the beach and pool and the restaurant.
