This was only our 3rd time ever of being All Inclusive and it worked very well for us as we wanted an effort free week, and that’s what it was.

Food is good quality all inclusive and there's always something available.

This is a massive all inclusive resort hotel with over 500 bedrooms.

Food was outstanding, the best we have had at an all inclusive.

This all inclusive hotel was refurbished in 2023 to a high standard.

Spent an amazing all inclusive week at the RIU Gran Canaria.

Mini bar (water and cans of juice) filled up every 2 days which is a nice touch and is part of the all inclusive.

We took a last minute trip to Riu Gran Canaria and stayed for the first time on an All Inclusive vacation.

Overall, this has been the best all inclusive resort we’ve stayed in to date.

The entertainment team were great and the evening entertainment was the best we’d seen at an all inclusive resort.

An impressive and amazing all inclusive hotel situated by the promenade and the Atlantic Ocean.

It was the best all-inclusive experience we have had; both food and drink were of very good quality, plentiful and readily available.

We picked the hotel as we’ve stayed in RIU hotels before and wanted the all inclusive offering.

The All inclusive drinks ,  I could honestly not pick fault with the quality.

Food was  good  and plentiful - we chose the Dunas Buffet for breakfast and  lunch  which was typical all inclusive food .In the evenings booked Amore Mio ( Italian ) or the Atlántico  grill at no extra cost for evenings .

This is only our second time of staying all-inclusive despite travelling lots,

Food for an all inclusive was very good loads of choice.

It’s a lovely hotel with extremely friendly and helpful staff, clean, comfortable and truly all inclusive.

The resort was full of bars - wonderful to see premium spirits being used for all inclusive - a special touch and never waited more than 2 minutes to be served and plenty of cocktail choices too!

Suberb food, especially the Asian restaurant, very nice.

Las Dunas for breakfast and lunch, Alantico for for lunch and reserved dining, Kaori for reserved Asian dining.

We ate in the Asian restaurant one night and the food was very good.

Nicely landscaped with several pools, bars and dining facilities, including a very good Asian restaurant and evening entertainment within the complex.

Loved the vast choice of places to eat; main buffet restaurant plus three specialities of Canarian, grill and Asian.

2 bookable restaurants for evening meals
Asian- really nice, basically Chinese food, noodles, rice, sushi, samosas, ribs- I didn’t expect it to be nice

Lots of choice for food .. we dined in the Asian , Canarian & Grill for our evening meals … booksble & less busy than the Dunas restaurant.

The all inclusive food is very good with the Asian restaurant in particular providing a great alternative to the regular buffet food.

The Asian restaurant is well worth a visit and the Grill in Atlantico for dinner.

It's worth getting just to book the Asian restaurant (and Grill/Canarian) and also can report any issues without the hassle of contacting reception.

but can be repetitive

The head chef in the Asian restaurant made me beef stir fry with rice noodles on 2 occasions and even got me some gluten free soy sauce to have with my sushi!

We booked both the bbq and Asian restaurant whilst here, we actually booked the Asian a second time time while we were eating in there we loved it first time around!

Food varied, would definitely give the Asian Restaurant a try.

What a great break before Christmas, fabulous hotel, everywhere spotlessly clean and all the staff so friendly.

The hotel is very clean, drinks great, staff very friendly and in a fabulous location.

It’s big, grand, attractively designed and all areas are kept very clean .

We have stayed at the hotel many times during the last decade prior to the first refurbishment and have enjoyed excellent service and unmatched quality of catering and cleanliness.

Spent a really relaxing holiday for two weeks.Every thing was as expected,clean,tidy good food, nice staff and generally good fun.We have been there before the alterations and it was every thing we expected.One suggestion ,to have some sort of shade on the upper deck of the Sunset bar.Thank you for a lovely holiday.

Just returned from a lovely week, the staff are all very friendly and welcoming, the whole place is kept beautifully clean, there are plenty of sun beds, the only area that gets really full is by the infinity pool.

Everything was impeccable again and we were happy to see the hotel after the wonderfully successful renovation!

The bedroom as indeed the rest of the hotel was spotlessly clean.

Our room ( 134 ) which was on the ground floor, was clean & spacious , there were a couple of ware and tears to paint work

Location: Straight onto the Boulevard via the back gate, beautiful area, very clean and felt safe too.

The hotel had recently been closed for 3 months, I believe, in order to refurbish it and it certainly looked clean and bright.

Staff, food and cleanliness as good as ever.

Very clean staff Very nice.plenty of sun beds unless you want to sit by the infinity pool you will have to be up before 7 to reserve you bed.

You will find cleaning staff everywhere, all hours working, the place is kept immaculately clean.

The cleanliness and organisation is top class and takes place almost unnoticed.

As you would expect from a Riu, from the cleanliness of the rooms and all communal areas this hotel is spotless.

but we had a fantastic view of the garden, pools and then the ocean.

The garden and grounds are well maintained with lots of outdoor activities to keep you busy.

Check in easy and as a Riu club member we were able to choose our room and stayed in 4069 which had a double bed and views of the gardens and a great sea view.

Garden view rooms are spacious, include tea/coffee facilities - no milk

We were on the 4th floor with views across the pools and garden.

Fantastic views of gardens, pools and sea from room, and lovely mountain views from lifts and stairs.

The view from the balcony seating over the garden to wards the ocean memorable.

It has now been refurbished since our last visit and the pool areas and garden areas have changed slightly and we’re kept to the highest standard.

We had a room on floor 3 facing the gardens and pools which was ideal.

Please look after the cactus gardens,  they are impressive.

As usual a Riu hotels are big & this one was no exception.The gardens were lovely to walk round.Plenty of sun beds around the grounds.If you fancy a sunbed round the infinity pool forget if you are not an early riser.One of the staff told me you must be up around 6am.

but alternative eating areas overlooking the gardens, or the sea was a lovely experience.

The gardens are beautiful and clearly well kept.

The hotel is huge and outside areas very spacious with pathways through manicured lawns and gardens leading to three pools and other facilities.

The WCs were clean and the gardens are well kept and beautiful.

We did really enjoy the Gospel singers on Christmas Day and the bands that paraded around the gardens and Purple bar on Christmas Eve and New Years Day.

The hotel is set in beautiful, spacious gardens with multiple swimming pools and lots of seating and sunbeds.

The room was nice, with a view over the garden and the sea.

Great hotel, lovely gardens, great location.

We compared prices paid with couples from Germany and Luxembourg and they had paid 500 euros more than us so I think Thomson has negotiated a good price.

If you like to go to sleep before then take earplugs.

If they want to inflict loud, incessant noise on to people, please contain it.

We arrived after 8.5 hours on the plane due to first sitting for an hour while they de-iced the plane (really Tui, surely this could have been started earlier, we all knew it was frosty) then being diverted to Fuerteventura for a short while due to high winds on Gran Canaria.

Noise levels in both rooms were loud up until 11pm and then started again around 7.30/8am so couldn’t really sleep in

Unfortunately, the evening entertainment was all outside, heavily amplified and there was no escaping it even with the door closed.

Why does the volume/bass need to be so loud, it hurt my hears and you could hear it in our room which was well away from the party.

My only complaint would be the noise that the maids made with cleaning the room above us.

We did find the two main restaurants a little noisy, often finding it difficult to have a conversation.

Only the speaker at the front worked and with the road and vehicle noise we stood no chance.

The only issue being directly under the restaurant was the noise around 5.50am each morning.

Expect staff, guests dragging chairs tables and whatever else and make noise above you from around 6 am to late at night so if you think about booking one of the swim up suites make sure it’s not under the restaurant because you can forget about peace and quiet and having a lie in!

The rooms are noisy and you can hear everyone - be it walking down the corridors or plugging things into the wall sockets - probably due to age .

The only thing I would say is that the cleaners start early so you can hear them banging about from 8am.

Negatives 
Shame the kids pool isn’t heated 
Hallways can be noisy especially early morning as they are tiled with a terracotta tile so bounce sound and don’t work well with suitcase or trolley wheels - Take earplugs as I did and it’s less of an issue.

My only minor criticism was that the rooms were quite noisy in the sense that you could hear your neighbors moving about and talking,

but the noise from the music was disturbing beyond belief.

Have returned for the first time since COVID, not a good Tui flight with a child sat on parents lap kicking the back of your chair for 4 hours it should not be allowed all children should be sat in one part of the plane.

Based on the wide spread coughing and spluttering from other guests, I don’t think we were the only ones to find this.

The food in the main buffet style restaurant was excellent and very varied.

The first day had breakfast in the buffet restaurant which was basically outside, great in the summer

The hotel upgrade has improved the food offering with 4 speciality restaurants.

The staff, the food, the facilities are all great.

The themed restaurants were good and it was nice to sit somewhere quieter and less busy,

Food was good everywhere and the a la carte was  outstanding.

The decor is just beautiful so tasteful and the addition if two new restaurants with a coffee bar and sports bar are amazing.

Make sure you go to the themed restaurants.

Lovely hotel looking out to sea .No shortage of sun loungers pools not heated so refreshing to get in soon warm up after aquagym .Great food choices with space to book into restaurant  choices .

The food was great and there’s something for everyone, we used the app to book the themed restaurants which apart from the gourmet one are also buffet style

Plenty of choice of food , premium drinks are available.

This is a poolside restaurant available for lunch and evening meals.

The hotel is ideally suited with easy access to shops and restaurants if you decide to eat out one evening.

Having said that the food was well prepared with no issues.

There is a huge area with a big stage just for entertainment.

Entertaining was very good every night in a good spot to go walking as well.

We loved everything about the Riu Gran Canaria - location, amenities, surroundings, staff, comfort, entertainment, all contributed to a great vacation.

Entertainment: This is a mixed bag as there were a couple of really good nights in particular Dukes Band and the Neon party.

Excellent food and drinks and really friendly staff that  go out of their way to make you happy.

Dukes band on our last night were also so good - so the RIU is my entertainment benchmark from now on.

We enjoyed our holiday so much due to the excellent standard, the service was great and the entertainment mostly was superb
Our room was good, again standard great, and cleaned daily

the hard work of daily rehearsing surely paid-off in fabulous parties.

New restaurants, new entertainment area and a Sports bar.

Entertainment was ok. Reps available most days.

Entertainment was good as well in the evening.

Evening entertainment every night including quizzes and bands.

And of cause everyone's on going remarks about the show team miming on stage.

The entertainment was very good in the new theatre and both the new Sports Bar and Coffee Shop were very relaxing.

Evening entertainment great to diabolical.

The hotel is spotless and well looked after with the services being very good BUT the evening entertainment is diabolical   The entertainment is poor and every evening we spend 30 minutes watching someone on stage commentating on Kamout.

If we had to find anything to criticise it was too many smokers sitting outside ,no bath robes and limited toiletries

Tatty room in most areas, badly finished, damp patches and peeling paintwork, we already moved room once due to being allocated single beds, previous room was equally tatty (they were better before refurb) hotel staff were really apologetic and helpful, I met with the Manager who guaranteed me compensation through the complaints team, sadly their service offered an apology

Excellent.The only bad comment- too many smoking areas.

I have to question the reviews on here, this hotel disappointed at everything, firstly when we were walking to our room the corridor looked dated, old fashioned tiles and worn out looking - then on entering the room the overwhelming smell of bleach was concerning.

but a few people in particular were disgusting.

The extremely poor air con was the worst though, not only was this not cool and barely circulated any conditioned air in our room, the vents were so clogged with dust and likely something worse, from what we could see in the room vents, that it gave both us us sore throats and breathing difficulties leading to sleepless nights and avoiding using the minimal cooling the air con could provide.

Only cons to hotel is that wardrobes had a slight musty smell and the infinity pool did have bits floating in it at times, possibly needs a good clean once a week!

We also found hair in our food and on the cutlery during our stay which was disgusting.

The toilet had a sliding glass door with a 5cm gap to the wall ensuring that the sound and the smell from the toilet would fill the whole room.

but even there you could smell the kitchen fat.

It was a shame we were in a room next door to a smoker, which meant our room smelt of smoke - we raised this

Glad smoking not allowed in main areas anymore, used to be awful.

Guests can only smoke standing up beside a bin, these bins are scattered round outside

but smelt damp , quite dated, towels ok if your a size 10 and pillows very poor.

On entering the hotel room you could smell the sanitizer, you felt safer there then if you said in the uk.

Covid protocols (temperature checks, hand sanitising & mask wearing) were all strictly adhered to.

But for the time being, we don't smoke other destinations.

Overall 8 out of 10 and mainly disappointed about the smoking issue.

but the smoke in the air sorta dimmed the al fresco experience.

Our only gripe is smoking around the restaurants which is no longer allowed in the UK and should be the same everywhere.

Cannot finish this review without a big shout out for the hotel staff.

Well done all the staff as everything worked well in all departments and they were all very friendly.

Staff are so friendly and helpful and always happy and smiling even when rushed off their feet.

Riu's staff must be emphasized again, because every employee - from their position in the hotel - was efficient and service-oriented, and their smiles also made us smile throughout our vacation.

To all the team at the hotel, we thank you very much and look forward to our return visit.

Staff, facilties, location are firt class.

The staff are all very friendly and efficient at what they do.

What makes this hotel a great choice is the staff, nothing is to much trouble and everyone is really friendly and helpful, you can see that they love their jobs.

Couple of drawbacks - drinks are over priced and booking into restaurants was difficult - we could only book 3 in advance until we checked in.

Drinks yes they are expensive no way of getting round that

There the pool and beach service was much better (just more staff) and the prices of everything at Sani are very high- your meal allowance does not go very far unless you just eat at the buffet every night, drinks are expensive and even non motorised watersports have to be paid for.

The only down side is that the hotel own all the restaurants on the peninsula , so felt prices for drinks were unusually high for Greece

All drinks are very expensive and not included in Full Board.

Drinks are also very expensive with average glass of wine at €10.

The only issue for us is that the drinks are so expensive both within the hotel and around the pool.

Our only negative point was that drinks are quite  expensive .

but if you can justify the cost of Sani Beach, the drinks prices are not prohibitive.

Drinks are expensive so go to the local super market in the marina and drink in your room first .

Drinks are expensive, especially at the Bousoulas Beach Bar,

My only complaint was the cost of drinks, being a spirit drinker 12-13 Euro’s was quite steep and 14 Euro’s for an Aperol Spritz, really??!

A minor gripe was the cost of the drinks 8 euros for a beer.

Some things to keep in mind 

The drinks are a little expensive.

1) staff attentiveness, just outstanding from arrival to saying good bye, did anyone person stand out = no, as all the staff were equally outstanding 
2) Gardens, beach area, pools and general upkeep of the whole resort = 5 star
3) Food, all restaurants we used and quality of food was just excellent.

The hotel complex comprises of manicured gardens and path ways in grounds that includes a marina, 4 hotels and numerous restaurants and a few shops, also a forest and wetlands for birds  in a private nature reserve across a 1000 acres  .

Having spent so much quality entertainment time at the Garden Theatre, we have great admiration of all of the Show Team, and have to mention in particular Margot and Mary, who always made their way to seek us out after every night's spectacular performance.

The evening entertainment at the Garden Theatre was exceptional.

Everything is so immaculately kept from the floors, bedrooms,  toilets, gardens, restaurants, beaches and pools.

The shows in Garden theatre are great, our favorite dancers are Cecily and Alex and also great beverages, special thanks to Mr. Gavrilos and George the managers of the bartenders.

We enjoyed the 10 minute walk to the Marina through lovely gardens and footpaths.

We had a pool, sun beds and walkway and about 30m in between our garden to beach, not exactly beach front.

but brief so get to the garden theatre on time.

The landscaping and cleaning staff do unbelievable work in maintaining such a standard in the interior and gardens.

The shows in the Garden Theatre were outstanding- very talented entertainers.

We stayed in a junior garden view suite the room was nice, not amazing.

It is a beautiful place surrounded by forest and white sand beaches

The gardens and decor are beautiful - tasteful furniture and design, immaculately groomed gardens everywhere and all the upkeep seems to happen behind the scenes.

We visited the Garden Theatre most evenings after our meal and the shows that we watched were of a very high quality, the performances and the outfits were first class.

Would I go back, my philosophy has always been if I can afford a holiday expand your horizons and try different places, have I been back to anywhere around the world a second time = no, would I go back to Sani resort then the answer is yes, I’d love to stay at Sani dunes, that looked impressive.

One of the best aspects of the holiday was the yoga.

Just returned from a really lovely holiday at Sani.

As a family we have been visiting Sani for 16 years and were lucky enough to have had yet another wonderful holiday at Sani Beach in August this year, adding more beautiful memories that will last forever.

Loved every bit of our family holiday at the Sani Beach …it has to be one of THE best holidays we’ve had…the rooms were spotless and spacious…the staff incredible …the breakfasts incredible…really l cannot find a single fault …PERFECTION …l can’t wait to return …
