The concierge was very helpful, guiding us to area places, such as L'Atelier du Pain and Fromagerie La Station, that were open in April.

We took a side trip to the Abbey at Saint Benoit du Lac where the Benedictine monks make cheese, chocolate, cider, and condiments.

A visit to the Abbey Benoit du Lac is a must while you are in this part of the world.

Our days were spent traveling to nearby towns and also a visit to the Saint-Benoit-du-Lac Abbey near Magog.

A 2 and 1/2 hour trip from Burlington, Vermont (we stopped at the beautiful stone monestary St. Benoit du Lac on the way), we were delighted to leave our car in free parking and enjoy the inn's comforts, extraordinary and fun.

The Eastern Township area surrounding it, is home to some good wineries and the famous St. Benoit du Lac monastery.

It is a lovely hotel with lots of character, and is situated on a beautiful lake, with perfectly maintained colorful gardens, and a heated swimming pool.

The setting, the spa, the pools & gardens are perfect.

The gardens surrounding the resort are amazing.

The buildings are well maintained, have lots of old world charm and the gardens are beautifully kept.

It is on Lake Massawippi which provides a beautiful view, and it is so peaceful sitting in the garden just taking in that view.

Sipping on a drink in the vibrant garden while looking at the lake was so peaceful.

We loved the beautiful gardens at the main inn and  the pub porch with the  lovely garden and lake view  for dining.

The peace and tranquility of the garden was soon gone, as were all the available chairs.

The gardens and lakeside views are exquisite and the interior which combines antiques with modern convenience is charming.

It would have been all too easy to spend the time there abd in the gardens

Cocktails in the garden were excellent and expertly prepared by the friendly Tap Room staff.

The garden is welcoming and very comfortable.

We swam in the lake, had aperitifs in the marvelous flower garden and just nicely escaped the presently difficult outside world.

The gardens, with lake views, were serene and peaceful and a perfect place to relax and unwind.

Sitting in the english gardens is also very enjoyable.

The manoir has a kitchen garden that they use and they also strive for local products in their menus.

Just sitting in the garden overlooking the lake was special.

During the summer you can enjoy the swimming pool, rent bikes or canoe, paddles (all for free) or just sit in the garden looking at the flowers and at the lake.

Our room looked out onto the Lac with its own outdoor deck and easy access to the gardens, swimming pool, and the tavern on the grounds.

Service was impeccable and the gardens were in their full summer best.

Rooms with garden view are really too expensive for what you get, even if it is the same level of comfort as view lake,

I do echo other comments about prices becoming a bit out of line for the property.

Initially I thought it was a little pricey,

It was a last minute addition to our Canadian holiday, and they were unfailingly polite and accommodating despite my spotty cell service, internet access, and confusion over the R&C pricing being given in American $ and them quoting in Canadian $.

Prices are sky high for what is no more than a 3 star experience overall.

The food and drinks were quite expensive.

But when you pay $1,700 Canadian for a night’s stay the experience needs to be nigh on perfect and this time it wasn’t.

The breakfast was disappointing and over priced.

However, don't kid yoursleves, all of this comes at a cost.

Service is hard to rate because of the times we're in.

but compared to what we had out the next two nights, extremely expensive.

but maybe not as good as the price suggests.

Jason Stafford and his entire Manoir Hovey team have developed a culinary, relaxing and amazing experience that you will never forget.

They are excellent examples of friendly, hard working people who know how to look after their hotel guests and ensure they have a relaxing stay at Hovey Manor.

The library is lovely and peaceful, the rooms vary in appearance with some older and some updated.

We experienced a beautiful, relaxing stay.

though the weather was sometimes overcast or rainy, the location is so beautiful and the Manoir so relaxing that it did not matter at all.

This place is all about tranquility and relaxation.

Peace and serenity is what you will get by visiting Manoir Hovey.

The lake seems quite serene and I suspect it would be very fun to go out on one of the hotel's canoes or kayaks.

The food was also wonderful, Le Hatley being a delicious fine dining experience while Tap Room being more relaxed and informal.

An unusual, "legacy" hotel in a relaxing location with loads of delicious, locally-sourced cuisine.

but my lovely room with a large deck facing the lake was too perfect to leave, so I enjoyed a relaxing two days of reading and eating.

We had an extremely enjoyable and relaxing stay.

It is highly recommended for peaceful surroundings and high quality service.. On this trip I attended Le Hatley restaurant with 2 friends and had an outstanding dining experience that lasted about 4 hours.

An eight to ten-minute walk (uphill) gets you to the Dufferin Terrace overlooking the lower, oldest part of the city and to the funicular, which takes you down a very steep cliff onto the Rue du Petit Champlain, which is the starting point for many self-guided walking tours for that section of town.

Located on Cote du Palais, almost across the street from historic Hotel Dieux hospital, it's both off the beaten path and in the heart of the Old City.

We arrived by train and picked this hotel due to it's closeness to Gare du Palais and Old Quebec.

but LE SPA DU MANOIR offers many services (massage, facial, body wrap, manicure, pedicure, etc.).

Very short and easy cab hops to other locations in the city such as Videotron Centre, Gare du Palais, etc.

Super friendly staff at reception, modern room with 2 very comfortable double beds, crisp white sheets, great bathroom, overlooking pedestrianised rue st jean (entry on côte du palais), great $CAD18 breakfast, amazing Chez Boulay restaurant downstairs.

We did not try the La Table du Manoire also within the hotel lobby for breakfast as some other reviewers mentioned it was pricy for what you get.

While there we saw Cirque du Soleil, strolled along the ramparts, listened to a free concert in the park, and had a drink at Chateau Frontenac.

The lobby entrance is off Cote du Palais.

Hotel Manoir Victoria is in a great location on Rue du Palais intersecting Rue St. Jean.

It is very convenient location at rue St Jean and Cote du Palais.

Although the room was in the firts floor and faced Cote du Palais, it was very quiet.

Don't miss Cirque du Soleil's free evening show, Les Chemins Invisibles, which runs through the summer.

The food at the Table du Manoir restaurant was devine.

but it’s important to note that the hotel is accessed through a full flight of stairs with no elevator that we could see.)

The not so goods - there are a lot of steep steps from the hotel entrance to the lobby, with no elevator.

Floor 1 only partly accessible by lift very awkward with bags.

Just a disclaimer that there is a flight of stairs from the ground floor to the reception desk with no wheelchair access until you get upstairs to use the elevators to the upper floors.

The hotel has a number of stairs at the entrance and no elevator so just be aware.

but i wish the first floor would have some sort of elevator to go to the registers.

but no elevators or escalator if you have mobility issues.

The entrance to the hotel could be challenging for persons with mobility issues as there is a significant staircase leading up to the lobby and there is no elevator or escalator from the street entrance to the lobby.

The door to the room gave no noise protection, and apparently some people seem to think that talking loudly to their friends while waiting for the elevator won't annoy other guests.

The only two niggles we had was the stairs directly in reception with no lift to the lobby which wasn’t ideal for getting luggage in and out.

Very well located near Vieux Quebec, the first surprise was to find a 23 (I think) steps stairway to get from street level to reception, with no elevator and  the lack of help with luggages despite staff was around.

The reception is situated after negotiating a further two sets of stairs, there is no lift.

Got to the hotel hot and bothered only to find a flight of steps up to reception , they badly need a lift.

There is no entry elevator so be prepared to tote your luggage up stairs to the lobby.

There are 20 carpeted steps going up to the lobby, which cannot be avoided since there is no elevator.

Inside the front door is a level of stairs to the second floor where the lobby is located at and if they had an elevator from the street level to the lobby, it was well concealed and difficult to spot.

There was a constant strong smell of paint in the lobby and elevator!

The room was small and the elevators were slow after ascending the huge entry flights of stairs.

In general the hotel was good and the staff were helpful and friendly .

The front desk staff was so welcoming and friendly.

Staff were generally very helpful and friendly - they helped out when I tried to use my very limited French!

The staff are brilliant - both helpful and friendly and nothing was to much trouble.

The bed was comfortable if not a little on the small size and overall the room was in good condition. However we found the staff on reception not that friendly to English speakers (but you can say that about most of Quebec!)

Friendly staff offered valet parking (at extra daily charge) and a nice young assistant to take our luggage up a steep set of stairs at the entrance.

His concern, great smile and friendly attitude made us want to come back to this hotel.

Manoir Victoria staff was friendly and food at le Boulay restaurant was great.

You are less than 10 minutes walk from Gare Centrale and that's climbing uphill with 23kg luggage.

Especially convenient to Via Rail travelers, as Gare du Palais is just a couple blocks away.

Our room and the entire establishment are clean, stylish, and modern.

The Hotel Manoir Victoria was delightful - and surprisingly (at least to us) very modern with updated rooms and public spaces.

The bedroom was nice with comfy bed, good bathroom and opening windows (air conditioning seemed noisy) Although hotel has a long history it is in fact very modern which is a bit of a shame.

This hotel is within walking distance of everything in Old Quebec City.

Easy walking distance to all of Old Quebec.

The hotel is within walking distance for all the old Quebec sights and many decent bars and restaurants.

You are really close to one of the old Quebec City entrances and there are nice views when you climb up to the fort like top.

Very close to many places to eat and right in the middle to visit the Christkindlmarkt which is why we went.

We went to the Fairmont to eat, drink and enjoy the holiday decor.

Mentioned at reception to restaurant manager and acknowledged with a discount.

The gentleman who ran the restaurant for our morning breakfast was amazing, working diligently to serve a beautiful buffet breakfast.
