Positives: excellent location, pretty holiday decorations, nice gym, classy bar.

You can come inside and admire the recently renovated lobby, historical artifacts going back 400 years displayed in cases.

Fairmont Le Château Frontenac is a historic hotel that lives up to it's billing.

A great historic landmark hotel, really nice, great service, great food, beautiful Christmas decorations, good reminders and famous past visitors, and a small thing

It is within waking distance to literally every attraction and historical site in the city.

Atmosphere beautiful opulent and so very historic..

Château Frontenac is one of the historic hotels built by the Canadian Pacific Railway in the late 19th century.

Nice "classic" type room with a beautiful bathroom.

Let's start with the positive; the hotel's location in historic Quebec City is sensational and the building and its interior are stunning.

Lovely old building in beautiful and picturesque city.This hotel is as busy as a train station or pop art museum despite it being a beautiful historic building.

The first thing I want to say about this beautiful historic hotel is that to a person the staff is excellent.

We  stayed  at  the  Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac  few  days for our final  east  coast business  meeting ,  very  elegant  and historic , magnificent view of   St .

Beautiful historic property seated on the high bluff over the old town of Quebec City.

I go because it is so beautiful and so historical that I can’t talk about home without mentioning that monument to anyone I know.

We arrived into Quebec City by train and caught an Uber from Gare du Palais which took about 15 minutes.

In fact, in 1944, Fairmont Le Château Frontenac became the action center of the Quebec Conferences of World War II, which involved U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and Canadian Prime Minister William Lyon Mackenzie King.

The location of the hotel is within walkable distant to all in Old Quebec.

We made a family pilgrimage to Old Quebec City on Boxing Day to enjoy the holiday festivities of this beautiful place, and chose Le Chateau Frontenac as our home away from home.

The hotel location is great for exploring old Quebec City.

but providing us with the previous weekend's program as an example of what was available to us, including: wine tasting, cooking demonstration, a mixology class and a walking tour of Old Quebec.

Fabulous winter visit with excellent accommodations, extremely helpful staff, festive decorations and all centrally located in Old Quebec and the Christmas market.

Easy to find areas  to walk in Old Quebec  City.

I really recommend spending at least one night at this hotel for anyone staying in Old Quebec City.

The room has a nice view of old Quebec City.

but boy oh boy, it took us by surprised how beautiful and memorable Old Quebec City is!

Pleasant staff, clean accomodations, super location within Old Quebec area.

Next day we took an AML guided boat cruise
 from Old Quebec to the Montmorency Falls and Île d'Orléans and enjoyed breathtaking views of the Château Frontenac.

!Grand historic hotel which is the heart of old Quebec City.

It is in the perfect location of Old Quebec.

The location is spectacular - for 3 days we enjoyed just walking from the hotel in this magical winter weather enjoying Old Quebec, including spectacular restaurants,  fabulous shops, ice sculptures from Carnival, the toboggan run and more.

All you need to do is walk out the door and you are in the heart of the Old Quebec City.

The area surrounding Le Chateau is Old Quebec City and it is right out of a fairytale, especially as we visited in Jan/Feb when there was lots of snow and Christmas decorations!

Centrally located in old Quebec, it was a pleasure to stay at.

This hotel is one of old quebec’s landmark.

The only thing 5* about the Frontenac is the price.

4 stars because it’s too expensive for a room and there is no benefit to being a guest versus non-guests.

This hotel is quite expensive and for the price I expect better housekeeping.

The best part is they charge you a $25 resort fee for - nothing. They have nothing to offer you (unless use of a pool makes this a resort???)

Plus the cocktails were tasteless, overpriced and under poured.

Instead they use the fridge space to charge for alcohol.

We paid for the full breakfast which was expensive,

It’s expensive at C$75 and bears little resemblance to a traditional English afternoon tea.

I thought having to pay a $25 per day experience fee was strange,

Parking costs (valet) - like any of these hotel types is stiff in cost,

The Frontenac is simply ill equipped to handle any emergency situations with their customers and definitely not worth their exorbitant prices.

but drinks (wine etc, Ian not included) for the price of the stay, and upgrading, I think this should be standard that certain wines etc are included.

However, this expensive "luxury hotel" fell very short of my expectation.

We didn't stay here as it was quite expensive.

Enjoyed the pool, meals, and our room was spacious, clean and lovely.

Food is phenomenal here, even in-room dining is great.

but towels and linens were A+
Beautiful pool , top notch shops, great restaurants.

The food was great, service was professional and rooms and amenities were very well managed.

Dinner in Le Champlain was excellent, 1608 bar snack offerings good.

The "Surprise of Love" was a chocolate cake dessert in the shape of a heart.

The Discovery Menu with the variety of entrees and wine pairings was wonderful.

We did the three course dinner at the Champlain restaurant and was not disappointed.

We loved having all of the shops and restaurants of the Old town at our doorstep.

Make sure you decide to eat at one of the attached restaurants.

It is hard to distinguish the bar, from the restaurant, from the lounge with appetizers.

Fairmont hotel is very good 👍 luxury property and food and service is very good and also staff is very good

The food in Dufferin Place for breakfast was good and so is Le Sam Bistro, the steak was perfect and my creme brulee was just right.

We had room service,  breakfast,  laundry services,  high-end dinner.

Champlains is famous for their Sunday brunch.

The breakfasts were fantastic and the afternoon "snack" service could easily serve for a dinner.

Please note, 600+ rooms lots of daily visitors to the ground floor during the Christmas time to the point where they close doors so as a guest you have to show your keys to be able to get in.

King with city view room was exquisitely appointed.

We loved our stay from check in through the gold concierge lounge, our nicely sized room, and our tour of the hotel.

Our room was spacious, very clean and crisp.

Beautiful hotel and hidden gem of a room.

The room was nice and the view was amazing.

Rooms are modern, up to date and nicely decorated.

Although we were granted early access to our room which was nice, there was an issue with the heat requiring a call to the front desk.

We stayed in a Fairmont Gold room with a view of the St. Lawrence River.

The room itself was very spacious and quiet.

We payed ~$550 for a signature room and were treated as an after thought.

Everything worked in the room to perfection and it was very comfortable and quiet.

Our signature room was lovely with an amazing view of the river.

Unfortunately even with our Amex Platinum "perks" and anniversary stay request, we weren't able to get a room upgrade (we were told they were sold out) so our room was small,

Like most older hotels, most rooms are on the small side.

- The (eventually correct) room was tiny, definitely the smallest 5 star room we've ever had, with loud air condition, basic cable TV with zero useful programs, visible wear and tear throughout the room, one light not working, and a bathroom only one person can use at a time - no matter how close you are.

but this is a very old hotel with most rooms being on the small side, a room 45 sqm was quite good here.

Then he gave us a terrible small room and after we complained, he literally says . ."

But the rooms are tiny and ordinary, once inside it’s just an average hotel with even more average rooms.

We found the rooms to be small and not particularly updated,

Services agent for imperfect, rooms are small and prices are high.

The room was tiny, the bathroom was tiny, our view was obstructed from the 16 floor so we couldn’t see much, there is a lot of noise from the hallway and room next door, the bed was very very soft and uncomfortable.

Our room was very small and a patch of wallpaper was peeling off, and the mattress was unbelievably hard.

the interior of the buildings are a bit old and rooms are small.

Very expensive, poor customer service, small room, even smaller bathroom, and it just seemed dingy.

Our room was small (which is common at Fairmont "chateaus" across Canada) and had French doors to the bathroom that didn't meet, resulting in a clear view into the bathroom.

The staff go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need and the food is phenomenal, even room service.

The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas, the staff was wonderful, and the location was perfect for visiting the Christmas markets.

The Frontenac is without a doubt an exceptional hotel and the staff couldn't be more helpful.

The concierge treated us so well and made sure we had a great time.

The staff are very friendly and the beach is great and easy to get into ocean for a swim.

Holiday decorations were around every corner and the staff was accommodating and courteous.

Wait staff was amazingly good and timed their “check backs” so as not to seem intrusive.

All hotel staff and tour guides were very friendly and helpful.

Truly made our trip more relaxing with the extra love and care given by the staff.

Derick Prudhommeaux, the lead at Bellhop personified what it means to anticipate customer needs and delight customers—-absolutely remarkable!

All the staff we encountered were friendly, cordial, and accommodating to the English-speaking visitor.

The two girls at concierge were friendly and helpful.

If you are looking for an amazing experience in Quebec City this is the place to be.

Just a magical and wonderful experience in one of the cleanest and safest cities in the world

It was a great first time experience staying here and hopefully we’ll be back soon.

but possibly too large to offer a truly elevated, personalized experience.

It is far and away the best Fairmont Gold experience in Canada.

The breakfast buffet was wonderful, one of the best we've experienced.

From check in to check out, we had a marvelous experience and highly recommend this gorgeous hotel to anyone who is interested in experiencing a Gilded Age hotel

The tumbleweeds on the carpet, which I photographed, remained until the day before we departed.

The hotel is showing its age, with stained carpets, unreliable elevators, and the tiniest showers imaginable.

It seems it is in the walls, carpets, bed linen.

Room was very tired with lots of stains on the carpet and in the bathroom.

---  dark, a little run down; dark brown furniture; carpet a bit worn
+  good sized
+  large closet with shelves and real hangers
-- automated mini bar fridge - so you cannot take things out and store your own water, etc.

In my opinion the hotel rooms need some face lifts especially new carpet

Rooms feel dated, hotel wasn't particularly new or fresh, carpet felt old, king mattress was 2 twins pushed together, poor fitness center etc.

Stains on the carpet and bed skirt detracted from our stay.

but carpet and bed skirt was badly stained so it felt dirty.

The carpet in the rooms and hallways are noticeably dirty and stained

This is the second time my wife and I book this hotel and both times the toilet smelled like piss and the carpet in the room was dirty and also smelled awful.

The hotel interior does not live up to 5 star standards-dirty carpets, some staff that speaks neither English nor French, room cleaning that leaves dirty glasses and takes away bathrobes and oval a staff that takes a long time etc respond or does not fulfill requests that were confirmed.

Upon entering the room, there were carpet stains and marks on the wall.

Otherwise, the rooms are badly in need of an update, as are the halls, with dingy frumpy decor and stains on the carpet.

The carpet was older and did not seem very clean.

We found the room to be very sterile - no carpet on the floor, no art on the walls, a decor in nine shades of beige.

The carpets in the rooms and the hallways were grubby and dirty.

Staff were extremely helpful, friendly and accommodating.

Staff are also excellent,  efficient, and friendly.

The staff was friendly and nice and knew exactly what we needed after an overnight flight.

We were greeted with a smile and a very friendly gentleman at the front desk.

Stayed in Nice as an extension of a Viking River Cruise on the Rhone from Lyon to Avignon.

Mediterranean Sea is just across the street, and the Promenade des Anglais is a great place for a stroll or a run.

Both were delicately cooked and some of the best fish we have had in the Mediterranean.

The location is excellent and on the Mediterranean Sea.

The room was LOVELY and comfortable, and had a stunning view of the Mediterranean.

We would highly recommend the Hyatt Regency Nice Palau’s de la Mediterranean.

The view of the Mediterranean from the 3rd floor restaurant was breath-taking and the service over the top.

The room overlooking the pool and patio area also looked out over the Mediterranean!

On the Promenade des Anglais with beautiful views of the Mediterranean.

The suite was gorgeous and clean with a view of the Mediterranean.

Fortunate to have a very high floor accommodation with balcony overlooking pool/party inner court with view of the Promenade and Mediterranean.

The room is large and extremely comfortable and the location is fantastic as it sits on the promenade across from the beautiful Mediterranean.

Nice is such a beautiful Mediterranean city and a must-visit place if you ever visit the French Riviera.

Hotel is located on boulevard and has a spectacular view of the Mediterranean sea.

This hotel is on a special site known as the palace of the Mediterranean.

The hotel is in a great location, across the street from the mediterranean ocean.

Had a super comfy queen bed, good shower over the bath & a balcony overlooking the Mediterranean sea, perfect for watching the sunrise every morning with a coffee.

We booked a beautiful room at this hotel, with views of the Mediterranean Sea and the Promenade des Anglais!

Wonderful morning views of the sunkisssed Mediterranean across the street were enjoyed over breakfast.

Waffles in pastries and some Mediterranean food

I would recommend this hotel from our experience to visitors of all ages, the location is excellent, near the Old Town , right on the seafront, and only twenty minutes from the airport by taxi.
