It was dark and dingy, we were offered 2 other rooms which none looked like the pictures on their website.

Our "superior" room consisted of 2 narrow hallways between the door, the dirty little bathroom, and the tiny dark room.

The room and bathroom were dark with very poor lighting.

However, I think there are a few needs as below : First, rooms are little bit dark, so when I come back from my day trip, I feel little bit down and tired.

The carpet was dark and spotted in areas, corners not well cleaned, and there were dirty marks all along the hallway at shoulder height.

we were placed in a dark,dingy worn room that would better suit a person or people that don't need any natural light or feelings of normality.

but being on the second floor it was also quite dark and we needed the lights on at all times.

It smelled terribly bad, it was very dark and the carpet was gluey (ie I stood there for approx 10 minutes and my shoes were sticking to the floor!).

It was a bit dark as it had only one window on an interior courtyard so you had to really look up to see the sky.

I should also mention that it felt safe even after dark.

Still on the stairs they are lit by lights on movement sensors and we often found ourselves in the middle of a flight of stairs in the dark which was a little unnerving.

It was also rather dark as it faced a tiny inner courtyard, there was very little daylight.

After entering the door to the second room, I had to walk along 2 long hallways in the dark to get to the room proper.

It was dark, narrow, and the bathroom with no tub was so small - even for Paris - that I declined.

The room itself was quite dark because it overlooked an inner courtyard,

Ideal location for seeing the sights in Paris.

The location is perfect - whether having dinner or un café down the block, or walking to the Seine, Latin Quarter, or Notre Dame.

BUT also wood beams in ceiling, friendly staff, diligent housekeeping, awesome location two blocks from basically everything cool.

We loved the central location just a couple blocks off the Pont Neuf, very easy to walk to the Latin Quarter, the Luxembourg Gardens, the Louvre, even the Marais.

The location couldn't be beat, with easy access to all the city's sites and plenty of metro/bus options if walking was not preferred.

I loved the location and bustling vibe of this hotel and will definitely return for another visit to Paris very soon.

I would stay again because of the excellent staff and location.

The location (6th Arrondissement) is next to many bars, cafes and crêperies.

Would reccomend based on location, comfort and service which for me is always important when looking on a hotel to stay at.

It is in an amazing location, a 1 minute walk to the Seine, and then Notre Dame is 5 minutes away.

Over the years I have chosen Hotel Dauphine for it’s fantastic location in the heart of St Germain, close to transport, museums and wonderful restaurants.

This hotel right in the middle of the St. Germain arrondisement was perfectly located - close to restaurants, the river, Luxembourg Gardens and the RER B.

Odeon Metro Station in close by as are Notre Dame, Saint Chapelle, Luxembourg Gardens, the Pantheon (the Cluny Museum is closed until July) and all sorts of cafes & restaurants.

Within easy walking distance of the Seine, Notre Dame, Sainte Chappelle, the Louvre, Latin Quarter, Luxembourg Gardens, everywhere you want to go.

the Luxembourg gardens are 10min stroll and many stops for a coffee, gelato and a cheeky kir royal.

It is within easy walking distance to the Louvre, Tuilleries Gardens, Luxembourg Gardens, Muse d'Orsay.

Walking distance to the louvre museum, and Eiffel tower, & Jardin du Luxembourg gardens, in fact you are not far from anything.

We stayed in this boutique hotel which is in a great location close to Notre Dame, the Louvre, the Latin quarter, Luxembourg Gardens, and the Saint Germain region.

Hotel Dauphin is a very nice boutique hotel near Luxembourg Gardens.

From here you can walk to Louvre, Notre-Dame, Sorbonne, Luxembourg gardens, Tuileries, Musee de Orangerie, Musee d'Orsay, Tower - everything!! 2.

Situated slap-bang in the centre of the Latin Quarter, it is within minutes walking distance from Notre Dame, Shakespeare and Co bookshop, and perhaps 10 minutes from Luxembourg Gardens.

Blocks from the Pont de Neuf, walking distance to Notre Dame, Luxembourg Gardens and even the Eiffel Tower.

Walked to the Louvre, Notre Dame, Musee d'Orsay, Luxembourg Gardens The Seine is at the end of the street and the metro.

Central to Latin Quarter--Notre Dame, D'Orsey Museum, Luxembourg Gardens.

We easily walked to Notre Dame, the Louvre, Luxembourg Gardens, Tuilerie Gardens and everything in between.

I walked daily -- to the Louvre, Orsay, Notre Dame, Marais, around Luxembourg Gardens, and even to the rue Mouffetard  (during a "Hemingway walk").

The location was great and we were able to walk to many of the tourist spots, with the River Seine only a five minute walk, the Luxembourg Gardens a ten minute walk.

It was truly ideal, so close to restaurants and transit and the magical Seine!

rooms are beautiful well appointed and clean. brilliant eating venues right outside and around the corner( Maison Sauvage in my favourite!)

Restaurants and shopping directly across the street.

This hotel is close to many restaurants and shops in Saint Germain.

We were able to walk to all of the main sites we wanted to see, and it's surrounded by good restaurants.

We didn’t pay for breakfast as there are so many places to eat on the doorstep.

The hotel is just around the corner from Rue de Buci which has a number of excellent restaurants to choose from in a bustling and fun area - our favorite was Cafe Buci, while Atlas, a seafood restaurant catty corner from it, also was very good.

Lots of good restaurants as well very close by.

Also, walking distance to Notre Dame, the Louvre, Musee D'Orsay, and of course, the entire Left Bank/Latin Quarter with its restaurants and shops.

Lots of restaurants in the area and within walking distance of a lot of the sights - Notre Dame, Musee du Louvre, Musee d’Orsay, Jardins du Luxembourg etc.

The staff is nice, welcoming, and help us alot with finding great restaurant.

I am so amazed at how much care the staff took prior to our trip in helping us with arrival questions as well as places to eat near there.

Bathroom Tub drain was stuck for first 2 nights.

The room was small and clean,except the bathroom had an unclean odour.

A complaint about that would be akin to complaining about the sulfur smell in an Icelandic shower.

Not sure if someone had been smoking illicitly before us or it came through the air conditioning.

but ours smelled like someone/something died in it.

Bonus, if you happen to be up at one in the morning, you can smell the croissants being made somewhere in the neighborhood.

Finally, there was an unpleasant moldy smell in the bathroom, which seemed to be very clean.

Soap smelled wonderful! We were on the fifth floor, so in order to get to it, you took an extremely tiny lift (so tiny that one night three people got in it, and it was overloaded!)

The smell persisted and it lasted for approx 1 hour.

The hotel's biggest drawback was the strong scent throughout - clearly intended as a nicety,

My only comment is that the fragrance of the sachets in the public areas is too strong.

Maybe that explained the smell in that room.

Room 14 was tiny, the airconditioning/heating unit was very noisy, and  provided insufficient heat, and the shower efficiently flooded the bathroom while making the person taking the shower only mildly damp.

though we were in smoking rooms (and don't smoke) there was absolutely no smoky residue or odor.

Classic 3-star in the heart of the Left Bank, so bear that in mind: cramped staircases, slow elevator, small bathrooms, tight-squeeze bedrooms.

The rooms with bathtubs have much larger total bathroom space.

but the location more than made up for lack of space.

but parctical use of the space makes the room seem larger.

Our 2 bedroom suite was a very small room with a bed, 2 small chairs,some shelves to put your clothes

Given that this was larger than a standard double, I'd say be careful if you are over 6' tall or weigh much over 200 lbs--you will find it pretty cramped.

They should put some hooks and shelves around, so at least you can hang/put stuff.

Travellers to Paris have to expect rooms to be small, unless you really are paying for space.

There needs to be more modern space to keep clothing.

My room was cramped and virtually no light.

but not so small that we couldn't move, and there was a nice chifforobe with hangers and shelves if you're staying long enough to unpack.

There were no drawers so we ended up living out of our suitcases which I hate .

Do not come here if you are looking for vast space in your room; you will not find it in most hotels of this calibre.

The items they show as features in their brochure, are just strange and take up space, such as an old intercom, jammed next to the night stand.

but I doubt anyone who is use to space would be able to use it.

You can ask them to remove the drinks so you have more space for your goodies.

The room layout made the space feel bigger - the room door opens into a small hallway with a mirror, bathroom (separate room) to the right off the entry hallway, which then opens to the left, to the bedroom (with a window).

Well looked after by all the lovely staff, especially the great guys on reception, nothing was too much trouble.

but clean with well appointed rooms, a nice staff and a pleasant breakfast.

It's charming, and the charm level is equalled (if not surpassed by) the staff.

Room was a good size for Paris, staff were friendly.

The hotel is right next to a large metro station and within walking distance of many restaurants and one street behind Rivoli street.

Hotel is in perfect location right next to the metro!

The Novotel Paris Les Halles is located just above the Metro station and in front of the big Westfield mall.

Central place, close to the Metro and the RER, nice surroundings, good rooms and comfortable beds for all family, friendly staff and a very nice breakfast.

It is near to Chatelet Les Halles metro 🚇 station which is served by five  metro lines and has an underground shopping centre.

Close to the Louvre and very close to the metro stations.

With my mum in the wheelchair, and many luggage, we couldn’t travel through the metro by ourselves.

From this location we east went to  Montemarte and the Eiffel Tower area via metro.

great located, direct access to a Metro station, some minutes walking distance to Louvre and the Seine.

The location is excellent right outside a major metro station, short walk from the Louvre and Ile de la Cite.

The hotel is in a perfect spot to get to the top well known places e.g Eiffel tower is twenty minutes away by cab or #72 bus.

Don’t forget to exit the metro station Chatelet Les Halles at Sortie 1 and ask your driver to drop you off at Pizza Wawa at 35 Rue Saint-Honoré

The workers are all welcoming and polite, and Paulo helped us with our heavy luggage and with our Uber.

I was returned to this hotel after visiting Novotel on business trip and enjoyed every moment
It has a central Metro station just 10 meters from the lobby,  huge shoppmall, restaurants  and more.

We loved the bakery across the street and how close the RER and Metro were and there were several restaurants close by.

The location was fantastic for getting to Notre Dame and the Louvre.

The location of the hotel is super convenient.

First off, the location of this hotel is absolutely perfect.

The Louvre, Notre Dame, Musee D'Orsay, St. Chappelle, Luxembourg Gardens, Pantheon, and many more places.

and then assisted us with the electrical plugs so that every device worked.

Only thing missing was a mirror near to a plug for hair straightening!

The only fault I had is that there was no full length mirror in our room and no plugs near the bathroom mirror for getting ready in the evening

The room was very cramped and there was no usable mirror near a plug  to allow you to style your hair, there was a hairdryer in the very cramped bathroom, this hairdryer (like all hotels) wasn't fit to style my hair and there was nowhere to plug straighteners in etc.

The room was very spacious and comfortable and the only complaint I have is the electrical outlets which were the European style types that didn't accommodate our western appliances which we had to go to the front desk to ask for the right type of conversion plug.

It can happen that you have to queue up for several minutes in order to be seated.

I didn’t complain as after waiting so long I just wanted to eat and go.

even though we have queue up and identify our identity before entering the restaurant.

You must reach the restaurant by 8 am though, otherwise you might have to stand in queue though.

The only issue is that breakfast on some mornings was chaotic as the hotel was full and there was a long queue,

The only negative i would think of is the waiting queue for breakfast,

However, the customer next in queue was offered an upgrade as there wasn't any available room based on her booking.

Queues, many items not replenished, 2 coffee machines resulting in long queues ( bring back the silver jugs).

Close to the bests points of Paris , comfortable , good food , Jonathan very nice guy who took care of us.

The hotel is great and welcoming, great location, lots of restaurants, bars and patisseries around.

The breakfast is reach and tasty and the staff is smiling and helpful.

Great recommendations given from the staff for places to eat nearby as Les Halles is right within the shopping centre and metro/ train station.

The area is full of restaurants, cafes and bars plus a big mid-nineteenth church  (Roman Catholic) called  St. Eustace - Les Halles.

Loads of restaurants and stores right outside the door.

We had several times an excellent dinner in the very nice "jardin privé" and breakfast during the stay - and enjoyed it.

She arranged a sitting close to the breakfast restaurant and help my father to deliver the food to my mum so she didn’t need to walk the stairs.

It was very well appointed and had great food…we ate there every morning as it opens at 7:00.

She made us feel instantly at ease in a new city, welcome and corrected my diner reservation mess up I tried to make.

good place, everything is nearby: a shop, a cafe, the view from the window is gorgeous, the room is only small, small bathroom, breakfast is good, fast check-in.

Restaurants all around made this trip wonderful for my special day.

The lift only goes to floor 5 which means you have to carry 4 bags up to floor 6 as well as be in a room where the bath tub is in no more than 3 feet from the bed.

My mum and I only had two very small cases with us for the weekend trip

The elevator takes 1 person plus suitcase, or 3 people at a push.

but after speaking with the receptionist on our first night that was not the case and he had to direct me to a nearby shop which was through many dark backstreets.

The rooms are small as tends to be the case in Paris

In this case, there was not so much emphasis on design,

but it was difficult enough with two people and two suitcases.

The rooms and halls are quite small, with 2 adults and luggage it can get a little tight.

but still had plenty of room to unpack and not feel too tight (often the case in European hotels).

When we were on the train about an hour later we opened the bag to find the most wonderful rolls, fruit and jam and other snacks.

The room was so dark that we couldn't even see what was in our suitcase and had to resort to using our iphone torches to light up the room.

The hallways were very narrow, making manoeuvring of cases difficult.

The elevator barely fit two people with their bags (we were staying on the fifth floor).

I had to dig deep inside my stuff to locate my credit card that I had with me "just in case" since I am a cash person.

As mentioned in other reviews, the lift had room for two large suitcases and one person, so we opted to take the stairs when not carrying luggage.

No suitcase racks to put a suitcase on, of course!

So 4 stars for situation, 5 stars for staff that really wants to help and do everything right, 4 stars for playful design and room, and 1 star for management and leadership.

The staff were unfriendly, uncommunicative and did not create a warm, relaxing atmosphere of which you would expect on your stay.
