A typical 3 star hotel in Paris with bit hectic surroundings with lots of commuters to/from Gare de Lyon.

We left almost immediately to catch a train at the Gare de Lyon.

I love it because it's nice and personnel, well situated, close to the Gare de Lyon, where I normally arrive with the TGV and from where there is a metro Line takes me straight to the center.

The hotel is very close top Gare de Lyon, which makes it also very close to the Paris Islands, Bastille, Louvre, Les Halles, etc.

Hotel Palym offers great value: superb location (close to Gare de Lyon and Metro), a couple of brasseries (some of which open 24h) around the corner, clean and apparently newly refurbished rooms.

This hotel looked nice on the website and we did pick it for its location very close to Gare de Lyon as we had an early train to catch,

The room was clean and very comfortable.

Hotel Palym sat bang in the middle of the two - so close to Gare de Lyon (which made for an easy two stop access home via Gare de Nord Eurostar).

Location near Gare de Lyon was perfect with many cafes and shops all within walking distance.

We chose it for its proximity to the Gare de Lyon.

Accessible and very near the Gare De Lyon & Metro.

However the bathroom was very small, which made it awkward to use and there was no space to put down clothes or washing kit.

The shower was SO small that you shouldn't take this room is you are at all hefty.

The rooms at Palym were so beautifully decorated, bathrooms are a little small,

The room was a good size for the centre of Paris with a double bed, desk, TV (only 1 English channel), shower bathroom and a small balcony.

The bathroom was quite tiny with a small shower stall, and not a lot of shelf space to put your toiletries.

The only cons that I can think of are the small bathroom (expected though) and no free breakfast (Need to pay additional 8 Euros per pax).

The only negatives were that there weren't any dresser to put clothes in and the bathroom was really small.

The bathrooms (someof us had very small bathrooms also) were modern with shower only.

It is so small that the toilet seat is on the verge of falling off the toilet because it is so hard to get into a proper seating position without knocking your knees into the wall, so most people must have sat sideways and moved the seat out of its position.

Back to our room - it was a pretty small room by US standards with a tiny bathroom that included a shower stall

but this time our room was very small ,included the shower a toilet (36)
it was very silent.

but room was very small and didn't contain basic items such drawers and bag table.

The hotel is really small and the rooms even smaller and really cold.

Room was a bit small as we had 2 big luggages to open,

The room booked as a triple room had a small fold out lounge stuffed in a corner, very uncomfortable for my 17 yr old.

Typically of Paris hotels they are maximising the use of the space, the lift and rooms were a little on the small side.

Room was quite small for a double, view was not amazing, Wifi was awful and was told there were too many people using it?

Overall, everything is perfect if u don't mind the small room.

Absolutely perfect if you are catching a train

Beautiful hotel right in front of Gare du Lyon, so it's perfect when travelling by train.

We stayed in Paris only for 3 nights… so we wanted a very well connected hotel, near the most important attractions to go by train or even walking… this hotel meets that requirements and also it’s clean, comfortable and the staff are lovely.

Would recommend if you need to catch an early train.

Would definitely stay here again, even if I didn't have an early morning train.

I am moving to Montpellier and hoped to find regular hotel in Paris, near to the train.

Because it is so near the Gate Dr Lyon and because we were traveling by train we stayed here.

Perfect for late train arrivals and/or early departures.

We booked this hotel for a quick overnight stay knowing we were getting off the train at Gare du Lyon at 11pm.

We particularly liked the mural lighting, depicting historic railway scenes.

but I barely noticed that - modern and clean with a well lit mirror and heated towel rail.

We chose this hotel as it was close to both an intercity and inter-country railway stations.

Location was perfect for the Gare de Lyon and Le Train Bleu restaurant.

My train arrived at Gare de Lyon and the hotel is very nearby..which also makes it very close to Metro and Buses.

Accidental TGV to Paris from Avignon; requiring a quick search for overnight accommodation near the train station.

My first reason for the choice is the very good location (near railway station).

but charming room, clean and comfortable, practical and clean bathroom, nice shower, very quiet hotel (despite the proximity of the train station), very convenient location, very easy to find, super teams (night team included)

Walking distance to train station (Garde du Lyon) and good restaurants close by.

We used both the near by bus stops and the near by train station to get to Versaille and around Paris.

Although it was so near the train station, the street was relatively quiet, well lit and safe.

We picked this hotel based on other people's reviews and its location which is very close to the train station.

Close to the train station, 1-1/2 blocks from the Air France bus stop from the airport.

Everything would have been ok except one big failure: I was given a room without daylight (a wall in front of the window)!

Lots of noise through the thin walls, even with their normal activity.

but had nowhere to put anything and the grey painted walls depressing.

The only reason it isn't getting 5 stars is because the walls are thin and you can hear a lot.

The walls were a bit dirty and it didn't really have any character.

The only downside of our room was that it was facing the wall.

Wall was thin paper, It easy to hear TV sound from next door, of course conversation are.

Small & dark you need lights in the daylight, no view except a 3 metre square in the centre of the hotel just four walls to look at, this is at best 2* only positive was location for train station!! !

However, as our 5 year old got into bed she noticed a bug, which on closer inspection was one of many, bed bugs which were literally crawling all over the bedding and up the walls.

however the shower only goes as high as 3' (maybe), and does not have a curtain or even a glass wall to keep water off the floor.

If you hear a squeaky sound it's probably your tush rubbing againt the shower wall (LOL).

The last point I wanted to highlight are the thin walls.

What surprised me most is that there were at least 6 big mosquitoes on the wall in the last night we stayed.

However jam dispensers constantly empty, pancakes and waffles cold and the breakfast room itself freezing!

Negatives
Main big problem in Paris heat- no refrigerated air conditioning, they only have evaporated air conditioning.

The air con could have done with being turned up a notch in the hot weather.

We were besieged with electrical issues due to a faulty iron…twice it blew all the power points on two separate days….ultimately fixed after a couple of requests.

As regards the rest of the hotel, the service at the reception desk was poor in respect that we had explained the air conditioning issue to one of the receptionists who was going to fix the matter whilst we were out.

The website, app, and every document related to this hotel reservation indicated A/C would be available.

The air conditioning wasn't working the room was sooo hot!couldn't open windows because of noise.

The air conditioner struggled to keep up with the warm summer days in Paris, so sleeping was a bit sticky,

Stuff tells me that "AC is the same in all rooms".

The night before we left they offered us to change rooms, providing not feedback on the AC.

On the first night we arrived the air conditioning wasn't working satisfactorily, we reported this to reception and the next day they said they had changed the filter and it was (very slightly) better,

After 3 nights of waking up drenched in my own sweat and having considered all options (virus, aircon, stress, etc) I finally checked the bed and realised Novotel, a 4 star hotel, uses plastified matrass covers right under the bed sheet.

No portable heater available even I requested for one.

This could be such a good hotel if it would only do something about it's heating system!

Even so, we had only one outlet that was working in the whole unit.

For a 4 star hotel, the a/c definitely wasn't up to scratch and the breakfast was a mess - they could arrange two areas especially during high season.

The only complaint I might have was the air conditioning was not too powerful

They came to check the a/c and they said that it would not get colder.

The location is wonderful, in the center and just next to a main metro station.

The metro station is opposite the main entrance and if you're arriving in Paris by Eurostar it's just one stop on an RER D or B train from Gare du Nord.

Metro stations were right outside the hotel, and tons of restaurants were nearby.

the location was perfect for us, with a metro station right outside the door and just a 10 min walk from Notre Dame.

Metro station is right in front, Le Louvre is a 10 minute walk, so is Notre Dam.

Friendly staff, awesome breakfast & perfectly located near a major metro station with great connectivity across and outside of Paris.

We were steps from the metro station at Châtelet-Les Halles.

Metro station just a few feet away, easily walkable to the Louvre.

On the plus side: 
Great location - Châtelet metro station is right outside the hotel and so using public transport is super easy.

The metro station is literally 50 metres away to get everywhere around Paris.

but I would preferred to have a refrigerator, the hotel is well managed and clean the service was great, the hotel is close to all attractions, lots of restaurants and bars in the area, Metro station almost in the hotel, shopping center just behind the hotel and lots of other stores, overall very satisfied

The location is perfect right on Shatlet metro station, plenty of great restaurants and patisserie.

We stayed at Novotel Les Halles for 3 nights, excellent location, 1 minute walk from a very well-connected central train and metro station, Chatelete station.

Just outside the hotel there is the main station that most of metro lines interchange

The location is very central, close to a metro station, close to great shops, bakeries and restaurants.

Few steps from the huge train and metro station.

Besides that, the metro station Les Halles is one of the main one, so lots of lines stop at it, including the one to CDG.

10 steps from a major train and metro station so very quick to and from the airport.

The hotel is at a very convenient location just right beside the metro station.

But the worse was a fire drill that launched the alarms at 120db and where we were instructed by hotel personnel to stay in our room for several minutes.

Cons: 
in the middle of construction - loud construction noises/banging/drilling starting 10am everyday for the entire 6 days we stayed.

Negatives:
1) Currently, there are some road constructions going on, so hard to get Uber to come by.

There was some construction on the streets and some roads were closed so maybe that's the reason why the driver couldn't get any closer or maybe he didn't know the right way.

Hopefully all this construction work will be done soon and this will no longer be an issue.

Someone wrote about some metro construction, it´s all done now, and you can acces the metro-rer-station right on the front door of the hotel (exit Porte m. de Navarre).

NB, there is no place for taxi to come  near to the hotel due to the construction going on  (No problem for the noise).

The only disappointments were the slow check in and the noisy construction work outside,

The only inconvenience was getting to the hotel by taxi due to the construction work which is almost complete.

We found out that the construction has been ongoing for about a year.

Only downside is that it's under construction, so taxi cannot take you to front.

The construction around the hotel, which was a bit of a bummer, will be done by September.

The location's construction problem was not so bad because we didn't have massive suitcases.

The construction (for a metro station entrance/exit) in front of the hotel is almost over and should make it even better connected with the metro lines.

The roads surrounding the hotel are under construction which makes UBER and TAXI drop offs a little difficult

Location is very central, walking distance to Louvre, Notre Dame, Metro (Les Halles) and the only issue is that because of the construction to Les Halles, taxis couldn't drop us at the hotel

but only after construction is fully completed.

Very good hotel, perfect location (there is a metro station right in front of it), outstanding breakfast (really good), the staff is very friendly and helpful (specially Paulo that speaks Portuguese and helped us Brazilians with some great insights about the local restaurants).

The best food ever Pablo recommended us alot of restaurants were very good also lots of place to visit eifel tower also good restaurant and very friendly atmosphere I will come again so as I can recommend every that can come to go.

They both exemplify, the true meaning of customer service and combine it with professionalism and a friendly approach.

From the moment we arrived, the representative at the reception whose name I don't remember (I think Saleh) was very pleasant and friendly, a humorous and smiling person.

I really enjoyed the free ice cream 🍦 every afternoon and Anna was always very friendly and helpful.

The staff was very friendly and almost everyone spoke English.

They are friendly helpful  and always going the extra mile to feel the guest welcome.

We were happy to meet her in person during our stay and she was so warm and friendly and sincere in person.

We were most impressed with how close to all of central Paris this location is .. and a quick walk to the most central of metro stations the Gare De Lyon .

Ps - on the Monday visit to Disney, it was our daughters 6th birthday.

Our girls loved the free ice cream in the afternoon!

We came as a family of 4 (2 kids age 7 and 10), and we had 2 connecting rooms.

We were there for  mother daughter birthday trip.

We were visiting with our son, daughter-in-law & our first grandson.

I am travelling with my teens so there are 4 of us.

Good room size, perfect for a family of two adults and two children to relax.

Sometimes they were handing out free ice cream cones in the middle of the afternoon, which my kids loved.

I came here with my two boys and I HAD REALLY GOOD TIME with my kids here.

The room which had a comfortable double for my husband and I plus a sofa bed for our daughter was excellent.

The WC near the hotel restaurants has a cutely set up, and there is also a childrens area which we thought was a thoughtful touch.

Kabira and Lucille helped us a lot to accommodate our need for room type 
Worked fast and with integrity really superb job 
Not to forget very cooperative bell boys always available and super polite 
Breakfast free for kids and quality of breakfast was amazing 
You can make your own fresh fruit juice here first time for me

Our young adult children enjoyed the junior suite.

We had two kids (4 & 6) who really enjoyed the kids room.

The we made a note on our reservations that we had 2 children traveling with us and the staff decorated the room with balloons and provided coloring pages and color pencils for the kids.

Inside there was even a separate play space for young children!

My granddaughter and I met in Paris for a long weekend and completely enjoyed our stay at Novotel Paris Les Halles.

It has a large variety to choose from everything were delicious and the price seems to be a bargain as kid have breakfast for free.

Executive room with Queen size and sofà for two teens was nice and comfortable.
